As everyone has no doubt noticed, the first real cracks in the cohesiveness of The Shield came about this past Monday. Dean Ambrose made an off handed comment about being the only champion in The Shield that earned him a glare of discontent from Roman Reigns. According to F4WOnline.com, a babyface turn is expected to happen for Roman Reigns but it'll be a pretty slow turn. It's expected to happen, but not for several months. In the long term, the idea is to split reigns off from The Shield as a big babyface.
As for the Wyatt Family, they're expected to be the new six man main event unit once The Shield ultimately breaks apart. The upcoming feud that looks to be featuring the Family against CM Punk and Daniel Bryan, possibly others, is reported to be the first step in that direction.
All Shield members have played their roles very well and bring something different to the table. Reigns has played the mostly silent muscle of the group but he does well when he does speak. I'm curious to see if he has more to offer in terms of mic work. He's entertaining in the ring, he has that brawler/athletic powerhouse thing that sort of reminds me of Sheamus. Reigns definitely has a great look and physical presence, bearing a strong physical resemblance to The Rock.
As for the Wyatt Family, it could be interesting though I'm sort of on the fence. One reason why The Shield has worked out so well has been because they've all been able to contribute to the group in different ways with different strengths and has been consistently booked to look strong against the top players on the WWE roster. The Wyatt Family is centered around Bray Wyatt as the charismatic, unquestioned leader while Harper & Rowan are his silent, 300+ pound enforcers. I'm not sure that WWE can really book Wyatt, Harper & Rowan to be as dominant, unless the roles of Harper & Rowan are expanded to include mic work and if they're able to show some charisma of their own.
