Regarding the realism (or lack thereof) of Bryan vs Lesnar

Remember when people said this about Punk vs. Lesnar? Then remember it being in the running for Match of the Year? Then remember that time Daniel Bryan overcame ridiculous odds after ridiculous odds after ridiculous odds and people said it was awesome and the best story like ever?

Apparently people who say this can't work don't, because it's the same complaints they've had before and been proven wrong on each time.

I love that people are making a production out of DB not being a threat to Brock. That's the reaction you should have. That's why it's going to work.

At this point, I'd just love it if they just steered the Storyline back into something that doesn't shit on logic.
Bryan/Brock or Roman/Brock... I couldn't care less after last night's show.
Even a Triple threat doesn't make much sense whatsoever,lMO.

Basically, they messed up the Rumble booking, and now are trying to forcibly 'correct' stuff, and none of it makes much sense...ntm, quite a few guys are basically in limbo with practically nothing to do but be nuisances...

Correcting it makes perfect sense. We're in the Network Era. Individual PPV buys basically mean nothing, it's all about subscribers. You really don't want an angry fan base.

The overall fan base wasn't angry, though. Even Monday, the "angry" crowd was an overwhelming minority. The general reaction to Monday's show was a lot of nothing from the crowd. They have stopped caring because the whole deal has become a ridiculously stupid clusterfuck.

Good thing he didn't convincingly wrestle the Big Show twice last night or anything.

Not a fucking WORD was said, here, or in the LD

That was a mistake too.

However, that was the Big Show that Bryan beat. The Big Show has been a joke for years who gets beaten by Floyd Mayweather. Any credibility he had as a monster died the night Kane hit him with a chair early on in his WWE stint, and the Big Show was out cold for ten minutes.

Maybe the casuals weren't upset, as a whole, but the hardcore fans make up a solid percentage of Network subscribers. Even if that's only 10%, they really can't afford to lose that, especially when the Network isn't even a year old yet. They're definitely considering that, probably more so than anything else.

The match would pretty much write itself if it was db vs lesnar. Daniel get's his ass kicked most of it, he keeps going for comebacks and the door gets slammed shut everytime. Finally towards the end after two fake out finishes with f-5's and daniels hit maybe one or two running knees at this point, daniel's making his real comeback hitting all his signatures and then hits the knee and brock kicks out so daniel backs up and gets ready for another running knee and runs at lesnar and instead of hitting it he gets picked up for another f-5 but similar to the ddt reversal he reverses it into the yes lock, lesnar picks him up still wrapped in the yes lock throws him over his shoulders and goes for another f5 and again its reverse into a yes a lock and this happens maybe one two more times til lesnar is passing out from the pain but lifts his arm up at the third drop of his arm, bryan then lets go hits him with a final running knee and closes the deal or if you want brock kicks out hits another f5 and wins it but you say bryan did enough damage for rollins to pick up the scraps and cash in.

I would very much like a match within a match if they do go the triple threat route. Reigns gets taken out early with a table spot or something and bryan and lesnar work such a long time you forget reigns is even there, and then at the end when bryan's conquered the beast reigns runs in and steals it in a way that gets him big time heel heat.

Judas Priest! Can't we just set back the clock to when people didn't overuse the shit out of their finishers?

You can't just change the rules. That's why people get mad for lack of consistency. Lesnar took 4 aa's a curb stomp a tackle through the time keepers wall, two briefcase shots and elbow through the announce table if he's going to go down it's going to take something even more than that. As far as bryan taking finishers he's taken multiple before and still won.

I wish we could reset the clock to a time where people didn't care how "believable" a feud was and enjoyed the ultimate underdog story as much as they enjoy the underdog himself.

Adding to that, what feud with Brock Lesnar is believable anyhow? He could beat the holy dogshit out of the entire roster.

Until Reigns lost to Big Slow on a RAW recently, he had actually stood a chance in kayfabe given he would have been the perfect 'Unstoppable Force' to Lesnar's 'Immovable Object'... that is not there anymore, so yeah, there is No One left.... except.... Big Slow and Kane. :D

Well if the triple threat rumor ends up being correct, it pretty much solves this issue (among a few others as well) doesn't it?

Pretty much.
Though the only reason I'd settle for it is due to the chemistry displayed by Bryan and Reigns these past few weeks and thus I wouldn't mind seeing them continue to go at it all the way to Mania, with Brock added for a few dates...

That said;
Even as a Reigns fan, I'm still hoping that he gets screwed out of 'his' title shot at Fast Lane and Bryan gets the pin over him to go onto Brock.
I have said Bryan shouldn't beat Brock clean, and no one has convinced me why I should suspend my disbelief. However, Bryan and Brock can still happen and still be a brilliant match(something I have never doubted) but like with Eddie, where Goldberg struck the "killer blow" on Brock, it would be interesting if Reigns did the same at Mania to Brock.

I'm really looking forward to Sunday.

Either Bryan can have a competitive match and win cleanly over Brock or he can't. The "small man can't beat big man" argument is bloody silly as it is; it's made sillier when you say "you can make it it look like he's going to win, that's totally plausible - I just can't believe that he would win."

But I'm sure we'll be too busy guffawing at the sight of Bryan wrestling someone a similar height and weight to Lesnar on Sunday to care about WrestleMania. Reigns will immediately tackle Bryan to the ground and pin him with his much superior weight and leverage. The crowd will stand up and applaud the sheer believability of the whole thing.

Such is professional wrestling.

A post I generally try to avoid but "you must spread reputation before giving it to Uncle Sam again"

I'm not against Reigns/Lesnar, but if I have a choice between the story of Bryan taking a beating for 25 or so minutes while slowly chopping down the tree and eventually accomplishing the impossible, or watching Lesnar and Reigns push each other around for 15 minutes (and I love big guy vs. big guy matches, and both are far more mobile than real big guys), I'm taking Lesnar vs. Bryan.

I dont think comparing 2004 Brock to 2014 Brock is fair. The way he is booked with his MMA schtick does make it different.

DBry has always said he has a plan for a match with Brock. Then again i dunno man, i was the guy who started that Punk/Lesnar kayfabe dead thread.

I dunno, I wouldnt mind I guess but am i the only one who wants to see Reigns Vs Lesnar?

No, I would enjoy Reigns vs. Lesnar as well. I must say part of my leaning toward Brock/DB revolves around not wanting to mute every show between now and WM31. The lunatics will hijack every segment that doesn't include Ziggler or Mizdow (why they seem to be two of the chosen three, I will never know).
