RAW LD - September 10th, 2012

That Punk/Cena segment almost made me forget about the Jerry Lawler situation. That's the mark of two amazing professional wrestlers doint their craft. A helluva promo, that makes me want to get the ppv just to see these two go at it.

And thank God it looks like Jerry Lawler is gonna pull through. If he recovers, I hope he takes it easy in the future.

I'm so sick of them shoving Punk down our throats. When are they going to give someone else a chance? He must do nothing when he isn't working but kissing Vince's ass.

Cena easily proved that with the right person, the man is just incredible.

That promo had everything. Drama, conflict, swearing, cockyness. It made people wonder and the crowd went insane when Cena showed a new level of intensity that hasnt been seen in a long time! It was just amazing!

This night has completely turned the tables for me. I love Punk but in the end, he had nothing to say. I was in a way, shocked. My favorite wrestler, personality, talker. Was completely done in by Cena.

The ending should have been Punk and Cena going back and forth. Putting the fued skyhigh like Rock and Austin. But what we got was just incredible to say the least.
In the end it made Punk look like a cowardly heel, which sucks but theres nothing we can do about it. But a crazy deranged heel with that extra element. Punk has gone off the deep end and the look on his face, the look of doubt was just incredible.

These 2 are the best.

Just went back and watched it. You can see Lawler bent over nearly out of his seat. Cole is bent down talking to him and Jerry grabs his Coles back. Kane can be seen staring at them. The arena goes nearly silent. Sad scene for sure.

And also, a lot of credit and respect should be given to Michael Cole after tonight. He proved what a true professional he is after tonight.

Cena vs Punk is the best main event feud that WWE currently can offer. Those two not only are individually great, but they also have fantastic chemistry and work really well with each other.

Let's hope that we have good news regarding King soon. I really wish him a quick recovery.

And hopefully we'll be able to properly appreciate the fantastic PPV that NoC might be.

Focusing on the positive parts of RAW, I thought it was great, especially the standing O for Hart. Cena/Punk promo was strong and I am I ready to see what happens Sunday especially with Heyman in the equation.

As for Lawler, I was impressed with a lot of everyone's support of him on here, you had some great things to say about the King. It showed how much Lawler, and all of the classy veterans in general, mean to us after all these years of entertaining us. I'll be sending a prayer his way.

Credit to KB, or Sly, for taking quick action against the foolish poster making light of the matter.

Am I really being done in by the WWE machine!? Im being 100% serious.

It feels real to me. (No pun intended)

You are being done in by the machine. By this time next week I expect you to post pictures of yourself in every color of the Cena T-shirt rainbow.

Don't forget the wrist bands and jorts.

But seriously, Punk and Cena did a great job of selling Punk's indecency in that promo.

I need to starting ordering the latest WWE merchandise over on WWEShop Dot Com. Your source for official WWE merchandise and memorabilia.

But seriously though, that promo was stuff of Champions. Night of Champions!
Im really glad Heyman wasnt involved in the final bout. But everyone knows how I wanted things to go down so Its cool.

Still no mention of the ole chants, huh? I am disappoint in you wrestling fans.

The promo at the end was great. Almost made me forget what happened earlier.

Didn't watch the show, but I gotta hand it to Michael Cole for doing his best to help after all that.

I'm surprised a large number of idiots haven't claimed this to be fake and whatnot. Those that do and crack jokes about wrestling being fake should be shot, point-blank, execution style.

A couple of people were Tweeting to Ariel Helwani, an MMA reporter who is also a huge pro wrestling fan, asking if he really believed it was real

The typical mainstream response on sites like Deadspin (from the comments, NOT the writers) start with a "Hope this isn't a work/lie/story...". There is a genuine concern for him out there, but there are also clear signs that many people still feel something like that wouldn't be above the standards of the WWE or of Professional Wrestling in general, even after the Benoit scandal.

Glad that DemonToSome twat got banned, I hope he has a heart attack himself. Wish WZ could also ban all the idiots on the main page that are making jokes.

My thoughts & prayers are with Lawler & his family, hope he pulls through this and makes a full recovery. And kudos to Cole too.

On another note, that promo by Cena was just awesome. Backed up some things I mentioned about Punk in a previous post. Can't wait for NoC.

Whatever you thought of the show, there's only one thing to say here:

Long live the King. For once, that line actually means something and here's hoping he does continue to live for a long time.
