Punk is my favourite wrestler, but I honestly think Cena's work on the stick trumps Punk's. Look at Punk's promo on Bret earlier or Punk's promos last week and then look at the segment with Cena. John-Boy brings Punk to another level.

The difference is, Punk can make a good promo out of shit, whereas Cena needs good writing in order to be truly great. When his writing is crap, so are his promos. Plus, his comedy stuff is absolutely cringe-worthy.
But I admit... when Cena is serious, there aren't many who were ever better on the stick. It's just a shame he can't be that way more often.
He's Canadian... Canadians use the u after o thing as well.
I don't buy that for a second. From all I've seen of Cena's interactions with the crowd, I sense he has fantastic instincts. To chalk some of Cena's greatness up to writing while crediting Punk with some high level quality rings untrue and biased to me. Punk's good. But when he's not polishing his stand-up routine, Cena's right up there with him and then some. And honestly, Punk's struggled with comedy too. Sincklefritz and Clown Shoes can attest to that. For me, that really puts Punk's limits with bad writing and comedy into perspective.
Michael Cole was perfectly pale when commenting on what happened and was pretty much unable to keep his composure. The man was deathly scared and everyone could clearly see it. If it had happened to be a work, which it isn't, he deserves an Academy Award.
I'd say the same is true of Punk, hence why I'm pleased the snarling anti-hero is back. I may not be as fickle as the rest of Punk's suitors but I'm not totally deluded either.
On a similar note, Daniel Bryan has flourished when it comes to comedy. Does that mean that he's better, or just that his writing is better?
The problem is that it's RARE we get to see Cena the way we did Monday. Even during times when he should be the most heated, he throws these ******ed jokes in his promos and they ALWAYS fall flat with me. Punk doesn't seem to have that problem.
And I didn't mean to come across as saying Cena couldn't ad lib or anything like that; me saying the "writing is bad" goes back to Cena having to force comedy in his promos during serious situations. When he doesn't have to do that, like last night, his promos are awesome. However, a stupid joke can completely ruin an otherwise good promo.
WWE's writers make Cena worse, not better. I should have made my point more clearer on that.
At comedy, Bryan is certainly better than Cena.
Orton is one of those few exceptions that for some reason can still be a babyface without even trying. All creative has to is to book him against heels.
