Rank the NFL QB's - Let's Settle It

True. I can also argue that Mark Sanchez currently has the highest career passer rating of any QB in NFL history with at least 1,500 attempts with a 98.4.

Wait, no I can't. That's Aaron Rodgers.

Well I can argue that Mark Sanchez has the lowest career interception % in NFL history!

Wait, I was wrong. Also Aaron Rodgers. 1.99%.

At least Mark Sanchez led his team in the Division Round of the 2010 playoffs with a prolific 31-for-36 / 366 yard / 3 TD performance against the conference's #1 seed on the road.

Whoops. Rodgers again.

Well that's just one game. Mark Sanchez did post the 3rd best QB rating in the 2010 regular season with a 101.2, throwing 28 TD's and 11 INT's, and a 65.7% completion rate.

Sorry man, also Rodgers. Sanchez's numbers, let's see...75.3 passer rating...27th in the NFL...17 TD's and 13 INT's...54.8% completion percentage...OOOOOKKKKKKAAAAYYYYYYY...

But you're right. Same criticisms for Rodgers that I make for Sanchez.

Yes, the Packers defense is a HUGE reason they are in the Super Bowl. But you cannot feasibly compare Rodgers and Sanchez. It's filet mignon next to a well done 80% fat cheeseburger...with Velveeta!

I'm just saying it's nonsense to fault Sanchez simply because he has a great defense.

I'm not taking anything away from Rodgers, but the fact is, he's in the Super Bowl because of his defense, bottom line. Guys like Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, etc. team's won the Super Bowl solely because of their performances. Pittsburgh won their 2 Super Bowl because of Big Ben's clutch moments. Rodgers isn't in that category just yet. You can throw stats around and all that shit, but if you put Brees, Manning, Brady, Big Ben, and even Philip Rivers on the same team as Green Bay team Rodgers is on now, then they're still heading to the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks. You put Rodgers on the Saints, Colts, Patriots, or Steelers... they don't win the Super Bowls they have.

Rodgers still has a lot to prove in my mind.

Rivers > Rodgers

I notice almost everyone has Rodgers ranked higher than Rivers. I can only assume your all living in the moment with his current SB appearance.

There stats are pretty similar, but Rivers has the edge in pretty much every important statistical category over the last three years.

No doubt.

Injuries and bad coaching is what hurt San Diego more than anything since Rivers has become their starting QB.

I'm shocked by all the Romo love. If this was 2007 he'd be in my Top Ten, but not now, no way.

2008 - 61.3% completion, 3,448 yards, 26 TDs, 14 Ints, 91.4 Passer rating.
2009 - 63.1% completion, 4,483 yards, 26 TDs, 9 Ints, 97.6 Passer rating.

Taking out the 2010 since he was injured, he's done quite well the past couple years. He got the playoff win out of the way in the 2009 season, and I think he can still play at that level next year.

Rivers is very good stats-wise, he's just not clutch at all and has never made an impact in the playoffs though.
Don't say that, SSC will bitch and moan that he's awesome ;)

He's not top 10, but he's still a top-15 guy to me. I still think he's talented, and can get back to what he was a few years ago.

While Rivers hasn't been able to single handedly win an important playoff game, neither has Rodgers. Rodgers D was able to pick him up when he was struggling, you can't fault Rivers for not having a team that can back him up when he's not at his best.

It's not like Rivers doesn't have any playoff success either, he's got three post season wins.

It took Manning 7 playoff appearances before making it to a SB, and Manning still has an under 500. playoff record. Manning's playoff woes haven't hurt his rankings, then why Rivers? He's younger, and is putting up amazing stats, it's only a matter of time before that translates into more post season success.

I like Romo and I think we will see him bounce back this upcoming season and put Dallas right back into the division hunt. They are still a talented team and he is most certainly a talented QB who is key for their success. Just look at when he got hurt the other year and Dallas sucked big time.

As for Rivers and Rodgers, I pretty much have them equal and constantly changing them in my ranks (same with Big Ben). So my 4, 5, and 6 is pretty much 4a, 4b, and 4c.

1. Tom Brady

5. Phillip Rivers
6. Ben Rapes-his-Burgers
7. Joe Flacco
8. Mark Sanchez

Vick isn't the #1 quarterback in the NFL. That is Tom Brady. Definitely the best athletic QB, but we saw what happened when he got blitzed to shit. Next.

All this talk in the 'Cutler is a Pussy" thread. F that. Just rank them in here. I usually prefer these in the Sports section, but you're ranking a lot of people, so do it here so you can spam. This is the "as of today" list.

1. Tom Brady
2. Drew Brees
3. Peyton Manning
4. Aaron Rodgers

20. Kevin Kolb
21. Carson Palmer
22. David Garrard
23. Ryan Fitzpatrick

I miss anyone? Agree / disagree? Why?

I would put Roethilsberger right behind Brady. Ben has shown he can win games and make plays in the regular season and the postseason. Manning is a great regular season quarterback but an average postseason quarterback. I'll wait until Aaron Rodgers wins a Super Bowl before I'll put him into the top five. I would put Sanchez in the Top 10 as of right now. I've already made my feelings known about Rivers. I wouldn't trust Flacco or Schaub to win a game if my life depended on it and I'm still indifferent on Ryan. He's lost two home playoff games.

Here's my top 10.

1. Brady
2. Roethlisberger
3. Manning
4. Brees
5. Vick
6. Rodgers
7. Sanchez
8. Romo
9. Ryan
10. Flacco

Ryan only lost one home playoff game, the other lost came at Arizona in 2008 on their suprising SB run. He's pretty good but he still has to learn to win in the postseason. Hopefully, he can learn that soon.
