Are you saying that every Mosque built is built by radicals?
No, I was refering to the one building it in NYC right now, he is a radical and that has been proven, not that it should matter as he still has the right to build it, but I dont personally think he should.
Agreed
Yes it was directed at him. He's not saying ALL religion's are wrong or evil, but he is labeling a religion for something that a few people did.
Yes, well hes wrong. That doesnt given him any less of a right to practice what he wants.
Is that fair to condem all the innocent followers of Islam who only want peace?
Youre asking the wrong question. This is this man's BELIEFS, we have no right to condemn him for those, and America has no right to stop him from burning books he sees as evil. Fairness has no place here.
For the safety of others, they have every right to actually. If they fear for their own safety, then people will do anything they want to stop this guy.
They shouldnt, hes expressing his freedom of speech. And doing things for the public or national safety have justified horrible things. The Patriot Act was created for this reason, look what its done. The president has authorized assassinating American citizens if he feels they are a threat.
Our nation is built on individual rights, and if someone does something incredibly stupid hes protected. We can agree on if its evil or not all day, but he still has every right to do this and they have ZERO right to stop him just because a bunch of people will get pissed off.
See, I mentioned it because I'm not American. I do not live in the country, I do have family that does, but I myself am not there. That is why I really don't NEED to worry about this, but I do.
I understand your concerns, and this mans action may bring on a lot of bad repercussions, or it might not. People duck and cover whenever Muslims say shit will happen in this country, South Park even did a great satire of it. But the attacks will happen no matter what until we pull out of the nations, which should be done right now.
I have been to Afghanistan, I have friends there now, as well as a few friends in Iraq. I worry for them, and what this could bring for them if it happens. If he does this, he is doing the very thing he is condemning the Muslims for. A terrorist act.
Ok, I didnt know you were in the military but you have just earned my respect for that. On that subject however the truth is attacks on Americans are generated by us being there in their countries in the first place, not by religion. Whenever we are in anothers nation people will be angered by that, the religion is simply the justification. They may get angry but the attacks would have happened anyway due to the outrage over our occupation of their land.
The solution to this? Immediate withdrawal.
