Q&A With Yaz

You can always get a job at Little Ceasers.

Actually don't do that, Little Ceasers is crap.

Their pizza sucks. Looks so god damn fantastic on TV until you go get one and it's like, I should have just taken the time to order Domino's or Pizza Hut.

Here I am thinking that I'm ahead as I'll be getting my Bachelor's Degree by the time I'm 22. Masters Degree around age 24 or 25 maybe. Love my major though. The business world is so interesting. Someone better hire me to be their marketing manager.

I was a Business Administration major myself with a focus on Marketing and Management. 4 years later I'm back in school getting a Christian Theology degree. Sometimes life swerves you. Glad you're pursuing something you enjoy man, Marketing was my favorite side of business when I was in undergrad college too.

Yeah this pretty much. Even the Bacon Wrapped Crust at Little Caesar's (which is what I think is their best pizza) is good at the crust but when you get past all the bacon it's still Little Caesar's. Pizza Hut is where it's at, especially now with all their new crust toppings and new sauces.

The Little Caesar's I have been to has great pizza.

I have never had a good Dominos.

Dominoes is good but Pizza Hut is the best. Every WWE PPV night I order from them. Stuffed Crust Peperoni Lovers with Salami, Sriracha Sauce, Jalapenos, and Garlic Crust Finishing. It's purely amazing.

I started out going for a major in Psychology and a minor in Theology. What I was going to do with a degree in Theology I have no idea, but I enjoyed researching and discussing (not arguing) religious ideas.

After a variety of fuck ups on my personal end, I decided to just get a degree of any kind so I went for business management. Fuck ups continued in personal life, became a garbage man for a summer for something to do.

Job opened up at a computer repair store for $9 an hour. Refound my love of computers, started taking classes for that.

Current job opened up, been here for 7 years. Decided what was the point of the degree if I have the job I need already so dropped out of college again. Now I have 7 years experience in the industry, and learned far more on the job than I would have taking courses. So it's interesting how things work out. I took a completely different path than most.

Yes I'll be almost 22 when I graduate. Will be on March the upcoming year.

I didn't graduate college until I was 26. I am thinking about going back and finishing up the credits on a second degree probably next year. I work construction and I will probably stick with that field, as site experience for me right now is far more valuable than classroom experience. Plus if I were to get a masters degree in something like architecture [I went to school for drafting and design] it would be a 3 year program, and I really just to say "fuck that."

Site Experience! That's what I crave for. Honestly speaking, you'll gain tons of knowledge in the site experience rather than turning pages of a book. But architecture is interesting. I've studied the basics of it as a part of Mechanical Engineering.

I took a year of mechanical engineering, but transferred out of it after a year because it wasn't what I thought it was. I want to be a superintendent or a project manager. Shouldn't take too long as the superintendent for the company that was running the job site before our company took over was only a year older than me, and had only been in the construction industry for 5 years. That's seems normal as it's based on experience.

I've been on site for only two months and my superintendent already trusts me to do shit like tear down concrete block walls with a Bobcat.

Trade schools are on the rise everywhere. On the job experience will surely get you more ready for whatever career path you decide to choose. Honestly considering trade school at this moment but eh, let's see what this current degree can get me. I hope to work on commercials and stuff like that.

Damn it Yaz! Your thread being all about education and stuff.

How many tacos does Mikey eat the day of a big match? Has he ever pulled a Cena in the ring, and shit himself?

Seven. Eight if it's a title match.

Can't say he has ever shit himself. I think Alhazred farting during the LL is the closest anyone has ever come.

Does he stick with the meat, cheese, lettuce, or does he go supreme, adding the tomatoes and sour cream? Doritos shell? These are need to know things.

In fact, I think it would be hilarious, if he rolled out of the ring mid-match, and downed a taco during the ref's 10 count.

I think Xavier should, right before he's eliminated.

"Five wrestlers. Trapped in a chamber. With a pile of shit. What will they do?"

He goes supreme with the Nacho Cheese Doritos shell. He doesn't fuck around.

There was a bit during Lethal Lottery 2014 when Matt and Mikey took a break mid match to eat cotton candy. They were chasing Backstage Bob and all three slid under the ropes and then chilled for a few minutes while they got a sugar high.

A man after my own heart.

There could definitely be a call back to this during this match, as well as some other Mikey/Matt moments.

Me mum woke me up at 12:30am to run to WalMart for her. Ugh. That cold drive got me to thinking about other things I dislike.

So I want to ask you guys, what is your least favorite moment in fed history? This will be a touchy topic, so try to be nice about it. It could simply be a loss in a match you wanted to win, a bad segment that really stuck out, or a story line that was a dud.

I have to say my least favorite moment was from my battle with The Sacrificial Altar. I had a match where if I beat Mason Westhoff, I would get Grand Mystique one on one in a steel cage. I wrote this RP where Mikey and Leon went to a church in the backwoods of Arkansas. It was the first time since he was a little kid that he went to church. He wanted to try to get into the mindset of Grand Mystique. Turns out he went to a church that did that crazy snake handling stuff, so he and Leon are holding onto these rattlesnakes and Leon gets nervous and ends up getting bit. It causes the parishioners to think Mikey and Leon are evil, and they end up chasing them out of the church. Most people thought it was funny, but the creative team at the time didn't think I should be writing comedy RPs, that I needed to be serious, so it cost me.

Then there was the Kingdom Come match where Derek Jacobs put in a dud RP and screwed my team out of a win, but we don't talk about that.

With John Doe, my least favorite so far has been the handicapped match with Zeus against Theron. I have really tried to protect Doe from being seen as a henchmen, and he really was used as a pawn. That said, I understand, under the circumstances, there really wasn't anything else that could be done, which is why I kind of glossed over it in my Kingdom Come RP.

Before John Doe, the entire time teaming with Milenko. Someone from Creative had asked me if I was interested in a tag team, and since Skinner was a comedy heel jobber, I figured why not, and then they teamed me with Milenko randomly in a match, and he was a face with that odd Shaolin gimmick. Then he sent me a PM saying he got a PM that we were teaming together, and he was adamant that we stuck with his gimmick, and then he picked the name, and most of the moveset, and I'd never hear from him between matches, and he would post an RP without talking to me first, so I had to wait until he wrote, and then fit something around that. Any idea I had, he would say was okay, and then he would change it before talking to Creative. It really soured me on the fed, and really turned me off from being in a tag team. After a few rounds of that bullshit, I quit and was gone.

It really took a lot of coercing to get me in a tag team this time around, and it started very rocky, but Fallout and I have figured out what works for us, and we're communicating a bit more. We've patched together enough to get us this far, and then something really clicked for Kingdom Come where I think we've actually just hit our stride and will hit the ground running now.

My least favorite thing that happened was probably the heel turn by Amber Warren. I didn't mind that Los Magnificos Dragones would end but I really disliked my heel turn. It made sense for sure but I struggled as a heel, I just can't write for one which is why I've never applied with a heel character.

I remember that RP by Meeks though Yaz. Oh boy. But at least we got the bazooka thingy.

The time Theron got written wrong calling Dorian Slaughter, Constantine, the World Championship, and the Lethal Lottery by their real names. Then when it happened again with him calling Kirilah and Zeus by their real names after I had made the Theronisms thread to prevent that.

Other than written mistakes my least favorite was the round where I got put in a tag team match with Vega against Triple X and Diabolos. Vega was on his way out so I was certain he would no-show. This is the only time I have ever felt an RP of mine was lackluster. I didn't even want to RP that round since I knew I would lose no matter what.

Getting singled out and attacked in the Bar Room in Cocos infamous pipe bomb he did should probably rank up there.

I guess success breeds contempt but for people to agree with him, suddenly I was feeling like a detriment to the Fed even though all I was doing was trying to put out the best work I could that entire year I was undefeated.

I was pretty close to forfeiting the title and quitting WZCW at that point. It's in the Creative Room somewhere but I was at a low point when that all went down. I didn't want to be a detriment but it was feeling like everyone thought I was. Thankfully the guys in Creative talked me out of it but the stigma didn't leave as we had more call outs towards me after that.

The thing that frustrated me the most was the loss at KC V vs. the New Church. I heard from so many people that that loss was because as a trio their RPs edged ours and we got lumbered with one of the worst RPers in fed history as our third man. Not that listeners to the podcast way back when had no idea about it or anything.

Also I suppose it's not as much a fed thing as much as it is a personality thing but I really don't get why Saxoteur are still so popular, like the first tag team for the HoF popular. I mean I liked them back in the day but when you go back and read their RPs they're mostly parroting jokes from other things or just plain LOLRANDOMPEANUTBUTTER jokes. It's the same reason I dislike Deadpool so maybe it's just me. Aside from that there's the whole Stormrage can't find an alternative partner to defend the titles and has to vacate then a few months later Saboteur is a solo tag champion bullshit which is frankly indefensible.

The lack of insight from Creative with regards to how they vote. Sometimes it's fine, other times I feel like my opponent had a better RP and I've won and vice-versa. I am not someone who needs to exert creative control over my character too much but sometimes the voting is inconsistent at best (this also stems from my time behind the curtain) and on occasion does feel biased towards certain characters or styles over the 'best' RP. That or subtle references or nods just fly over people's heads.

I've found the use of my character recently quite frustrating where words have been put directly in his mouth about why he's angry. I've had to roll with it somewhat but the point of the character was he was angry because he was angry, nothing more nothing less, he'd lost all semblance of self-control and was just a tidal wave of destruction. It was not about title shots nor about feeling like an afterthought. He was just angry as hell at everything and anything and I feel like I lost interest between returning and Kingdom Come as a result.

The Third Head of Cerberus reveal could have gone better. I remember we PMd Creative with how we wanted that managed but it was written as a random heel turn for Eve.

We managed though. Not really a gripe anymore than trying to find n answer to your question, Yaz

Some interesting stuff for sure.

I was one of the guys who wrote one of the fudged up Theron segments. We needed the one final segment to ship the show and I was the only one on, so I wrote it without consulting anyone. 100% on me.

I can't think of a least favourite moment ATM, but there is one moment that sticks out like a sore thumb to me. It was AS 21 and Showtime had a match verse Elite X champion Austin Reynolds. Admittedly, I talked Numbers into defending his title (he wasn't on creative yet). I had a plan, Reynolds so far had won 3 consecutive PPVs against Chris Beckford and really wasn't being challenged by anyone else. My idea was for Showtime to beat him, and then drop the title back to him at the next PPV. My idea was this would add a layer of overcoming adversity to his character that wasn't there before and he would come out stronger in the end, it would also make him a 2-time champion and give him momentum heading to the next PPV, Lethal Lottery. So we RP and I beat him vote wise, it was pretty one sided. Blade wrote the match and for whatever reason he had Reynolds beat Showtime, cleanly. I also thought the match was pretty one sided in Reynolds favour. I was livid. I got into a big argument with Blade on MSN (this was a while ago) and had a long talk with Phoenix. We came up with a solution, Showtime and Reynolds would have an Iron man match at All or Nothing and Showtime would put his career on the line. That stipulation was simply to build the match, because of what happened with our first match, we decided that either Showtime would win or the match would end as a draw, so Showtime wouldn't have to retire. Long story short, Showtime beat Reynolds and I think it actually worked out better for both of us than my original idea. I still feel bad about the argument I had with Blade.

I don't think I have a "worst" moment with Fallout, to the extent where it put me off the fed entirely. The Acutus return angle was a complete disaster, but I don't intend to ever reference that in Fallout's character going forward so it's not a big deal. It was a half-baked idea that came to me when I was in a pretty dark place in life, where I didn't have the energy to put pen to paper, let alone write RP's. I don't place any blame on myself, creative or anyone else, it was just a bad idea at a bad time.

Other than that, nothing else springs to mind apart from some nitpicks. My first load of RP's were pretty poor before I had the whole Spetsnaz storyline when I won the Elite X Title, and even that was a bit over the top at times and played more like a G.I. Joe cartoon than a wrestling RP. My more restrained writing style today has definitely provided my best work to date, and I have plenty of ideas and fuel left in the tank before I intend to make any major changes.

One little thing that does irk me a little is when anyone writes "Fallout smiles" or makes any kind of facial expression...how would anyone see that if he's wearing a mask? Besides, in those rare instances where Fallout's mask does break off, it makes those facial expressions hold all the more weight in my opinion.

I remember once Booker T said something like "Look at the emotion on his face" in reference to Sin Cara. He was totally serious about it too.
