Q&A With Yaz

Anyone else miss Kermit?

Yes, actually. We could have gotten a rematch between Chris and Titus for the Eurasian. Weren't the roles reversed last time with Chris being the heel?

EDIT: That and him being one of the best writer's we've had.

Yeah, Chris was coming off that weird White Knight gimmick I believe. That gimmick had potential as a heel, but he was so insistent on having Chris be a face that it kind of killed it.

He is a much better writer than I am creative wise. I'd rate myself as average at best when it comes to writing matches. I've had a few good ones, the main event of KC 6 and the triple threat cage match for the Elite X between Constantine, Aubrey Sloan, and Eve Taylor come to mind, but normally I'm meh at best.

What was the reason he left? He was doing a ton, and then left out of nowhere, at least it seemed that way.

Yeah I don't think I'm good at either as I've already told you. It may be due to my attempts at writing one primarily having been standard one VS one. Do you think standard one on one without a gimmick is tougher to write? I've tried a Rumble type before and oddly enough found it a lot easier to write than standard. A tag team, fatal fourway, or gimmick may be even easier. I'd figure the more stuff there is to pay attention to, the easier it may be. I dunno. Just something I thought of the other day and was going to ask you about it.

He took his first teaching job and found himself having less and less free time.

Kermit always jumps headfirst into everything he does, for better or worse. I'm sure he is a pretty good teacher who is super devoted to his students.

Well I always try to claim singles matches when we start the voting and claiming process. I'm not a fan of multi man matches as I try to give everyone equal amounts of offense and it ends up not being great.

Oddly enough I've written for three Lethal Lotteries and all three have gotten rave reviews. I also wrote the last KFAD match when Beard won, and that got okay reviews. It was a spot fest, so the smarks loved it lol.

Gimmick matches, to me, are always the easiest, because you can pretty much do anything you want. Fatal fourways can be tough, because you can't just focus on one or two people, and ignore what the others are doing. When I wrote the KFAD fatal fourway "qualifier", if was pretty easy, given there were 2 no shows. I also make it a little harder on myself, by forcing some psychology into every match. The M.O.M. v Eve/Ramparte match may have been a lot easier, if there were no storyline to put into it.

Ahhhh makes sense then. Real life > Fed life, and all that.

Teaching profession is my passion as well. Currently I'm on the verge of finishing my Master Degree and at the same time Teaching for Undergraduate students. Tough life for a 21 year old :| And more responsibilities flood through my way from the Department as I'm one of their potent young talents! Gift or a Curse?!

You're only 21 and on the verge of a Masters?

Honestly the White Knight gimmick was taken way too far after I put him over. Had it been kind of a one night thing, no issue, but as was said before (might have been Prophet of all people), there was no major evil for this White Knight to face down afterwards. Without evil there cannot be good right?

I've wrote some classic matches, but I've never truly felt like a "great" match writer if that makes sense. For non PPV matches I had such a ridiculously straightforward routine that I could almost plug and play people and then flourish it out with some personal details for each character. I was always more interested in making the stories and angles than writing the matches.

Also I hate multi man matches. Easily my weakest skill. It's why that one ladder match I wrote on my last run sucked, but no one else wanted to do it so I kinda volunteered by default.

21's normal for masters here.

You go to uni at 18, 2nd year 19, 3rd year 20. Most Masters degrees are 1 year so 21 is average.

Oh for Masters in engineering it'll take 2 years as I'm pursuing it in India (One of the reasons why I'm stuck in India) Anyhow, I joined school a year early than normal kids do.

My vision is to get PhD by the time I turn 24 or 25 :) I love engineering. And you'll know why in my next RP ;) I got something planned

I'm a college drop out so my experience with college is limited.

I really feel what Ty is saying about match writing though. Some guys like Spidey love it, but over the years it has become less attractive to me. I much prefer to put together the stories and come up with the segments and angles.

That said I always enjoy when someone uses something I write for a match in their RP. I forget who it was, maybe Blade. Anyway I wrote him tweaking his knee in a match and the next RP he was with a doctor getting his knee checked out for a brief portion.

In the US, Master's is usually 6-7 years of college, so 23-25 would be a closer age. Depending on the field, it could also be 26-27.

Likewise.

Some guys just have a knack for it. Blade, Dave, and Funkay were ones I was always happy to see writing my match.

I feel that is a lost art. From Creative's side, we need to take what you wrote in your RP and apply it in a match/angle/etc, a lot of writers don't do the opposite and take what happened in the match and apply it in their RP.

Here I am thinking that I'm ahead as I'll be getting my Bachelor's Degree by the time I'm 22. Masters Degree around age 24 or 25 maybe. Love my major though. The business world is so interesting. Someone better hire me to be their marketing manager.

You can always get a job at Little Ceasers.

Actually don't do that, Little Ceasers is crap.

Mind you I'm not a nerd but I just love studying. All the years in studying I find no interest in marketing. I don't know why but I just don't like it, not even a bit.

I'm actually a business management major but I just love the marketing side of the business world. I like thinking of commercials or fancy graphics that can help a product or business be better, but that's just me. Kinda the reason why I like RPing. RPing is all about storytelling and while it can be a challenges, that's usually the time when you come up with your best RP yet.

I fancy your thoughts about the Marketing and Management. I love storytelling as well. But I took this as a challenge to improve myself in all the aspects of life.
