Puro fans, UNITE!

Taiyo Kea won the AJPW Champion Carnival. I'm really surprised they went with Taiyo and not Yuji Nagata or Suwama.

I really can not wait for BOSJ! There are so many matches that I'm looking forward to! Also, can anyone that watches CMLL tell me if Angel de Oro is any good? If so can you list some matches of his that are any good for me?

Man, I've gotten out of touch with puro lately. Going to catch up over summer, I hope, might watch a few shows this week.

KOTA IBUSHI HAS RETURNED! He returned at the 5/4/12 DDT Show and had a match against El Generico which El Generico won. Afterwards Kota Ibushi cut a promo saying even though he suffered defeated he's glad to be back after being injured for 8 months. He's looking forward to the big DDT Show in August and had his eyes set on reclaiming the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship that he never lost.

Fun match. The rampant no-selling (especially of shots to the head) did get a little irritating though. But Ibushi is fun enough to watch that I can overlook it.

I haven't watched it yet, but I'm planning to watch it this weekend. Ibushi is always fun to watch though.

Also, it's been announced that Davey Richards will not be at BOSJ due to the injuries he sustained from a car wreck. The doctors said it would be difficult for him to compete in long singles matches. Let alone a full tour of them back to back. New Japan announced that they will be naming a replacement soon. I hope it's Kota Ibushi or maybe Kenny Omega. But, more then likely it will probably be one of New Japan's newer Junior Heavyweights.

Some of the matches have been announced for the DDT & Dragon Gate joint show on June 5.
1. Danshoku Rumble: Danshoku Dino, Antonio Honda, Gorgeous Matsuno, Don Fujii, Ryo Saito and Rich Swann
2. 6 man tag match: HARASHIMA, KUDO & Shigehiro Irie vs Akira Tozawa, Cyber Kong & Kzy
3. Masa Takanashi & Ken Ohka vs Super Shisa & Shisa BOY
4. Kota Ibushi vs BxB Hulk
5. Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma vs Masaaki Mochizuki & Kotoka
6. Kenny Omega & Keisuke Ishii vs Shingo Takagi & YAMATO

I'm looking forward to the tag team match featuring Kenny Omega and YAMATO and I'm really looking forward to Kota Ibushi vs BxB Hulk.

New Japan has announced that Brian Kendrick will be replacing Davey Richards in the Best of The Super Juniors tournament which is scheduled to begin May 27. I honestly don't know what to say other then I am extremely shocked that they chose Brian Kendrick. If you would of told me two days ago that Brian Kendrick would be Davey Richards replacement I would of laughed at you. But, I guess anything can happen in wrestling.

I watched this today and holy crap that ending had me shocked!

The fact that Taiyo Kea lifted up Akebono was amazing! If you just want to see the lift start at 10:00.

Hiroki Goto was able to defeat Tomohiro Ishii to retain his IWGP Intercontinental Championship. The next big New Japan PPV will be 6/16/12 and here are the matches that have been listed so far.

IWGP Tag Team Championship Match: Toru Yano & Takashi Iizuka (c) vs Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima
Togi Makabe vs Minoru Suzuki
IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs Hiroshi Tanahashi

Also, BOSJ begins 5/27 and here is the card for the first night.
B Block Match: Alex Koslov vs TAKA Michinoku
B Block Match: Daisuke Sasaki vs Jado
B Block Match: Ryusuke Taguchi vs Low Ki
B Block Match: Tiger Mask IV vs Brian Kendrick
A Block Match: BUSHI vs Rocky Romero
A Block Match: Angel de Oro vs Taichi
A Block Match: Prince Devitt vs KUSHIDA
A Block Match: Jushin Thunder Liger vs PAC

The matches I'm most looking forward to for the first night of BOSJ are Ryusuke Taguchi vs Low Ki, BUSHI vs Rocky Romero, Prince Devitt vs KUSHIDA and Jushin Thunder Liger vs PAC

So I just got done watching the El Generico vs Kota Ibushi match. Man was that fun.

Yes, yes it was, but do you see my point about the no-selling? I mean Kota goes from being in an armbar to doing his handspring backflip knees to the face.

Oh yeah, I completely understand your point. But, for the most part I think the point of the match was just to go out there and have Ibushi go crazy and show everyone that he's still got it. I expect him to sell a lot better in his next few matches though.

Why? When has he ever sold a limb or a head shot for longer than it takes for him to do something completely awesome but illogical?

Now that you say that I honestly don't know for sure. He probably has, but I just can't think of a time right off the top of my head.

To my knowledge he never has and is unlikely ever to do so. He got where he is by being the most fun to watch guy on the card, no matter who else was on it. Why stop doing that? Without his crazy stuff what makes him better than any other Super Jr? Nothing, really. He's a bit like pre-WWE Gabriel in that respect, a self aware spot monkey (only waaaaaaaaaay better at kicking up the crazy). Only difference is, Gabriel did it out of necessity (and assholishness) and had a reason to stop. Kota, not so much.

True, and he probably never will stop. Your also right on why should he stop. He's easily one of the biggest draws in Japan right now. Heck his very first show back he brought in a sell out crowd to an arena that very rarely had a sell out crowd anymore.

Thinking about it, if Kota wasn't insanely fun to watch I would probably hate him. He does a lot of things that I hate (fail at psychology, selling or doing anything other than stupid, yet impressive moves)

That's similar to my views on DDT in a way. I hate Chikara because I think it's stupid, not funny. I love DDT because it's does things that are so fucking stupid that I can't help but laugh.

Indeed. I've never watched Chikara, so I can't say the same, but that's probably why I love DDT so much. It just does some things that are so flat out stupid or crazy that you just can't help but laugh. Plus, the also have a handful of pretty talented and fun Cruiser weights to watch as well. I really can't wait though for a Kota Ibushi vs Kenny Omega feud.

Well Gallow's run can't possibly be as bad as his last... where he had a match so bad the owner had a shout at him and the opponent on camera.

EDIT: And Misson, what makes you think Kota is such a good draw relative to other guys in Japan? Not disagreeing, just genuinely interested.

The fact that his return match for DDT was able to bring in the biggest audience in the Korakuen Hall that I've seen in a little while. The audience DDT was able to bring in for that show is actually slightly better then what New Japan typically brings in at Korakuen and it was a good bit better then what AJP and NOAH typically bring in at Korakuen as well.

It's also interesting that the 15th anniversary show is being held in August this year, rather than March (presumably) so Kota could get his arse back in the ring in time.
