It's weird. I live in the 5th biggest city in the 18th most populated state in the US. Most don't even know this city exists. There are no nests in my city at all. But even if you travel to nearby cities with similar populations, they don't have half of the gyms or stops as we do. There just happens to be a lot history here. Harry Truman was born here and the whole city is basically a monument to him. There's a gym here named after the guy who lived across the street from Truman's wife when they met. And this is also where the Sante Fe, Oregon, and California trails all began, so there's a lot of shit related to that. And the Mormon religion has a lot of history here too.

I get the gym by my work literally every day, and I still don’t have a gold badge. The number of players playing here has diminishedbhugelybso if you get in a gym you’re plain sailing.

I should be able to finally evolve Scyther within a day or 2, got 6 rare candies today from a raid and now I just need a little bit of distance before I get the final candy needed. Also looking forward to this event, hopefully some good things pop up during it that are worth catching, you know besides Farfetch'd.

I'm hearing that in order to hit the goal, each trainer needs to average about 25 catches a day. I normally get like 150, so I'll be pulling my weight.

Yeah the sooner we get increased spawns the better.

You catch 150 things a day? Jesus that explains why you're on a much higher level than me. If nothing good pops up I'll catch 1 or 2 things and leave it at that.

I can hold 400, 242 spots are filled with keepers. I just catch until my storage is full. Then I go home, check IVs, and throw them away.

Also, the Plus helps a lot.

Seeing as I only have 1 spawn an hour where I live, I'm not sure I'll be able to carry my weight. This event seems half assed though. 3 billion catches and all we get is a Farfetched for 48 hours and a Kanghaskhan for East Asian? Why the fuck do I want to help East Asia get something I can't get as well.

Because they have Farfetch'd as a normal catch just like you'll get Tauros.

Fair enough. It just seems like a lot of work, for very little actual payoff. I am also bitter because I am so close to East Asia, yet I won't qualify for Khangaskhan because I'm still "technically" in the United States. The woes of a pokemon catcher.

Is Unown disguised as other pokemon similar to Ditto? I suddenly have one seen but for the life of me I can't remember seeing one before and I don't remember having that seen before today. I know for a fact it didn't pop up as itself and I just didn't catch it.

I had something similar happen awhile back. I don't know if they are disguised or not. Maybe it was at a gym and you didn't see it?
