Pick your poison: Triple H or John Cena

Pre-Show Stalwart
In my time here at Wrestlezone, and my contributions to wrestling forums in general, it is clear that there are two men who get people riled up most..

TRIPLE H

and

JOHN CENA

And the question I have for you is simple, which do you prefer and which do you hate most, and why...

Personally..

I dislike John Cena more, although he has won me over more recently, giving rubs to Big Show, his feud with Miz. I still feel like the guy had a rocket shoved up his ass in terms of the companies reliability on him. He has been handed WWE and World titles in a matter of years where as others missed out after decades of dedication to the McMahon product. The constant pressure to accept him as the face of WWE is making me feel the oppposite. The fact he took so long to develop his wrestling skills and still seems under-parr compared to others considered lower card than him makes me feel robbed slightly as a fan of seeing tremendous wrestling matches between guys like William Regal and Chris Jericho (for example) in high stake situations. This all being for the sake of sales and buy-rates, which obviously the company has to operate on but even so...

Pick Your Poison..

I have to say Triple H gets me more riled up. Why? Well for many reasons. But I mean, he definitely can wrestle, without question. He's very technical, and knows how to pick apart his opponent. But he is ALWAYS on the main event card, and it's all due to Stephanie McMahon being his wife, obviously. The only things to cut HHH's momentum were The Rock & Stone Cold's extreme charisma and popularity, which in that era, HHH was a level below them. But now that they're gone, HHH is pretty much the top of the company. He also barely ever lets anybody get a clean win over him, face or heel. There always is some weird stipulation to the match whenever HHH loses, which is very annoying. You can see that he thinks too highly of himself, because he also never puts people over.

Cena on the other hand, although he cannot wrestle well or anything, has put people over and I believe has let people win cleanly over him, such as Shawn Michaels. However, Cena is drowning in his own pseudo hype. Regardless, HHH definitely gets me more riled up than Cena.

John Cena because he actually takes time away from being in the WWE Title hunt unlike Triple H who always has to be in the hunt and that it's getting boring seeing him in the limelight most of the time. He gets more T.V. time then The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels before WrestleMania 25. I like Triple H for his wrestling abilities, but I don't like him how he always has to have the title on him or be facing the title.

I far prefer Cena. Whatever criticism you can aim at him, he's a (model) employee and he does what he's told without a hint of ego. The guy is a better wrestler than he's given credit for or he's allowed to be.
HHH... this is the guy who actually deserves all the criticism Cena gets. When you talk about Cena burying people, HHH does it more. When you talk about Cena hogging the belt, HHH is even worse. When you talk about a boring moveset... well it's about even on that one. The absolute clincher though is HHH has the backstage power to influence what he can do but instead of doing that, continues to make himself look like God while making everyone else look like crap. When was the last time he made anyone look good?

I have a question for you. If your place of employment offered you a fat promotion, and you earned it with integrity would you take it? Even if that meant you got a promotion before people that have worked there longer, or may be better at their job than you?

Don't say you wouldn't.

I dislike Triple H more. Cena throws everything he has into being a better performer and you can see that when he cuts a promo or wrestles. Triple H throws everything into burying his competition and getting himself over.

Backstage politics aside, Gotta say I'm more of a Cena fan than a HHH fan. Cena is very good at what he does and he's easily one of the most entertaining guys on the roster. Cena can wrestle a good match (just doesn't look that way alot because of booking) and is the definition of a workhorse.

HHH on the other habd, has gotten stale over the years, is not nearly at the level he used to be and to be quite honest, I am just plain sick and tired of seeing the HHH show every monday night (He opens and closes almost every RAW, its quite sickening). I'm not saying HHH was/is great, I'm just saying he is not the best in the WWE anymore and frankly, there is no reason to book him as such. There are superstars on the roster could take his spot.

Even though there are already like a dozen threads a piece for HHH or Cena, and they usually get merged into one, I'll reply to this one.

Anyways Triple H gets me more riled than Cena, simply because I actually like Cena alot and I think HHH is well, he's not that great in my eyes anymore. Triple H can wrestle, I'll give him that, he can still work a mic and a match, but that is the problem, he does it too much, he is unwilling to take a backseat, he is unwilling to make anyone else look good. Right now he is all that is wrong with wrestling... I am aware that it's a very strong statement to make, but I truly believe it. He doesn't play well with others if they try to stand in his spotlight, or piss in the same sandbox. So that's why he rile's me up. So Hunter Hurst Helmsley is defintely the posion in my eyes.

Cena is more annoying to me. Its a tie if HHH is in one of those DX modes. Cena IMO just tries waaaaay too hard to be funny and hes not funny to me at all. Obviously the crowd eats it up, but his comedy style annoys the hell out of me.

i hate them both equally and both are 2 of the main reasons i only watch TNA now but im gonna have to go with trips because of his backstage power and if cena got that heel turn that wont happen then i dont think many IWFs would have as many problems with cena as they do now he was better as a smart ass wigger heel imo, i thought it was cool seein trips dominate RAW from 02-05 beating all the wcw post invasion cross overs and the freshly returned HBK to keep the world title but after evolution broke up it just got boring seeing him in the title picture and thats why i "Crossed The Line" in 2006

The only person with the final Power in WWE is Vince, if he don't like it it don't happen and if he wants it to happen it happens, Period, STOP FUCKING BLAMING TRIPLE H.

Triple H gets a bigger positive fan reaction than Cena all the time, is always promoting WWE, runs rings around alot of people on the mic, can be funny as hell (acquired taste i guess) thats nothing to do with any backstage power, thats dedication to the company you work for and the job you do. Get over it, he's always in the title picture cause thats the only place he looks right and he deserves it.

Despite what people claim he does make others look good, those that need it. Sure in the past there was way too much Triple H winning everytime, but that hasn't been the case for a long time, now he works his ass off to keep that position.

Orton has bested him alot of late too i might add, despite HHH never letting Orton get over and even when Trips wins Orton still gets the last laugh. and also migh mention that Orton has been in trupble with WWE 4 times now and gotten injured each time he got the title, so ya don't think in the least that had something to do with him being "held back", he should be happy that they even kept him in the main event picture

Fans react positivel to Triple H, even to the point now that he can't be a heel cause he garners so much positive reaction regardless of what he does.

Just using last weeks RAW as an example, the place was deafening when he came out. so i guess all those people are wrong too and they hate him soo much they cheer and chant his name to piss him off. yet when Cena came out it wasn't the reaction nearly as loud

Cena on the other hand is totally lame on his mic work, can't sell moves for shit and poorly executes moves. yet despite Triple H's awesome backstage power that holds everyone else down. Cena is always in the title picture, sells merchandise i guess, Triple H praises him to no end every time they do candid interviews and when he's not off making crappy movies Cena bests everyone he faces in the end getting back in the top spot.

I do agree that Cena when the heel was far more entartaining than anything he has done as a poor-mans Hogan/Austin ripoff.

So yeah Triple H although not always entertaining for me will always be the best of the two if not one of the best of all time, he has the looks, the attitude, and the fans behind him no matter what he does

Cena i just tolerate, and his music is catchy

Both of them however can run rings around most of what TNA puts on
I could rant more but it's pointless, everyone has there own opinion.

Yeah I agree with GameOver Triple H, despite all the backstage influence he has, it still comes down to Vince as to what will happen on the show. Neway I think Triple H is far more entertaining and he gets louder reactions than just about anyone, better reactions than Cena for sure. Since Triple H has been face his always had the crowd support, there's never been mixed reactions because thats how much respect he has earnt in the business. Cena on the other hand has always had alot of mixed reactions and alot of the time (previously, not any time recently) probably more people in the arena booing him even though his a face, but the guy is popular with kids so he does get positive reactions obviously too with the demographics of the crowds now being more kids especially last couple years. Cena was only entertaining to me when he was a heel because he actually had attitude back then where as Triple H is probably the best heel the WWE has ever produced so has Cena beat in that category by a mile. In addition Triple H has great mic skills, cuts great promo's and is alot better in the ring than Cena. Cena sucks up to the crowd severely even for a face, where as I never see Triple H doing the same thing. Overall Triple H actually has an attitude and is generally more entertaining to me anyway. Sorry to Cena fans, I don't mean any disrespect, but I find Triple H alot more entertaining.
