Owens Attacks Cena!

There is no one named Steen on the WWE roster. Only Kevin Owens had interaction with Cena tonight.

I withhold judgement until the match happens. Remember we just saw Rusev get beat three straight times, two of them clean and decided losses.

John Cena has been in WWE for 13 years and whether I like him or not, he's one of the biggest stars in wrestling history. In one segment they just made him into a complete joke. This is the equivalent of having The Mountie debut by decimating Hulk Hogan. Absolutely horrid booking and one of the worst moments in RAW history.

I thought it was brilliant booking. Owens is a fighter, and even though Cena will win the chamber match he'll know he was in a fight. Owens is one of the best prospects coming out of NXT other than Balor.

and he wont be around for another 13.

Time to start using all that equity Cena has built to start building the next generation. Owens and Zayn are the two best prospects of said generation.

Not sure if serious..

I'm absolutely serious. EVERYTHING John Cena did over 13 years was just made into a complete joke by having him decimated and humiliated by an absolute nobody. WWE made it absolutely clear in one segment that a 15 time World Champion and the biggest star in the company is NO MATCH for a guy from their developmental territory.

I've been trying to be nice to you lately, you're clearly just a boy, but come on man, really? It's not like Cena jobbed out to Owens. He got hit with a cheap shot and dude's finish.

Great segment. Really good way to make a "rookie" seem like a big deal.

It reminds me of that time some guy debuted against Kurt Angle, and they gave that guy a long match with a close finish. What was his name again?

Great segment and they have made Owens look exactly like how he started in nxt.
Just dominant, that's the way he should be booked as that guy who will go through anyone to get what he wants.
Cena is the one to give these new guys a rub
I think Owens should lose through a dq protects both then give him another match at the next ppv
And of Owens drops the nxt title to zayn
He might even win the U.S. Title

I agree with the majority on this one. It was a great segment. Cena is doing what Cena does but gets very little credit for: helping build and put over the future of the business. I have long been one who railed against the SuperCena aspect of his character, but the man brings it all the damn time. In the ring and out. And he's always been about helping put over the next generation and yet he continually gets shat upon ( by me, quite often in the not too distant past ). But even then, I liked and respected the man and all that he has done and still does for this business. Yes, Owens will lose, which will suck. But he'll take Cena to the limit and win a shit-ton of fans over in the process.

I guess you have forgotten how a heel is supposed to be booked. Cena is the face of the company and no one will take that away from him. Kevin Owens is the next big thing, he needs to be built like it. Since 2010, Cena's best stuff was with Rock, Brock, Punk and Bryan, everything else has pretty much been irrevelent.

Funny, I don't remember John Cena decimating Kurt Angle and leaving him looking like a pathetic nobody after that encounter.

We all witnessed one of the best confrontation in WWE history at Raw tonight. It was between the NXT Champion Kevin Owens and United States Champion John Cena. I can be sure I'm not the only one who got goosebumps and felt my heart pounding through out the segment.

There's nothing wrong, not even a bit any one can complain, not a hardcore fan or a casual fan can find anything wrong with this segment. If there's someone who's gonna criticise this segment, seriously mate, you need a place booked in the asylum.

You see, there have been lots of advantages and future bookings from this segment. I'll point it out one by one.

--- This confrontation brought up the NXT to another level. Even when the commentary team has been selling the NXT pretty much after the debut of Adrian Neville, most of the casual fans only cared about Neville but now NXT has been brought up to another level.

--- It made NXT looks like a separate brand like ECW with more tough competitors. When Kevin Owens decided to not take up the challenge for the US championship as he already have the NXT Championship, showed the worth of being a NXT Champion.

--- Kevin Owens looked like the next big thing, he looked as the next top heel in the company. He's more worth the money than anyone in the business right now at least for that moment.

--- Hardcore fans love Kevin whatever he does in the ring owing to his popularity in the Indie region. But when he put his foot over the US Championship belt, he got tons and tons of heat. He sure can be the next top heel or a monster like Brock Lesnar.

--- It is an easy way to now book a potential feud between Kevin Owens and John Cena in the near future when he debuts in the Main Roster. In my verdict, Kevin should win their match at Elimination Chamber.

--- When he stopped John Cena when he tries to give the Veteran advice by saying that he got more experience in Pro-Wrestling than John, it made the whole NXT roster look strong because now even the casual fans would know that NXT isn't just a developmental region, its a Brand.

--- Kevin Owens is the man; Kevin Owens is the money; Kevin Owens is best for Business.

Cheers!!

You also think the segment last night wasted 13 years of John Cena's career, so we'll take your recollections with a boulder of salt.

I thought that the segment was brilliant. I doubt that it will happen but it would be awesome if he were to beat Cena.

Someone new has to be the one to end his title reign in my opinion. Either Owens or Balor should be the one to do so.

The best part of the segment for me was when Owens pointed out he's be wrestling longer than Cena so he didn't need his advice.

I'm so happy! The thing that pleased me most aside from the strong booking for Owens, was the fact he shut down Cena's "veteran advice" spiel. Not everyone from NXT needs to be treated as the young upstart trying to make a name for themselves. You can be a beast from the get-go.

Part of me is excited for their match at EC, but I'll be so disappointed if Cena goes over clean.

by attacking cena he became a mainevent star. But ko completely burried cena by insulting his 13 year carrier a joke. As far as this fued goes i see cena lost this fued. Ko is similar to brock.

Settle Down Aquaman, go back underwater or something. Everybody makes cena look bad in the beginning & that's what great heels are suppose to do, but cena usually gets the last laugh, hell Neville almost beat cena last week if it wasn't for no shoes rusev. So many NXT talent that I'm excited to see here in the future of raw it's ridiculous, Cena a great performer but he always says the same stuff that it was pretty refreshing seeing someone stand up to him without looking stupid themselves, Cena dont need too give everyone advice, he aint Mr. Rogers....Cena will win at chamber by a Zayne run-in or if he loses to Zayne at unstoppable then he could very well beat Cena, all I know is I'm excited for what's coming

So, can we address the fact that Kevin Owens looks to be in worse shape than most of the live audience members? I don't care that he pop-up powerbombed Cena. I think it was brilliant promo work to have him shut down Cena's "veteran advice." What I didn't like was the state of Kevin Owens' gut. He looks horrible. Not just a large stomach, it looked like he couldn't bend down.

I see Owens going the route of the Ascension, unfortunately. He just doesn't look like a guy Vince can get behind.

I've now seen 3 straight from NXT (Ascension, Neville and Owens come up from the NXT roster to a crowd who literally seems to have no idea who they are). At least Zayne got a pop.

And laodaron, he looks really out of shape. He looks fatter than before he joined the WWE.

This must be a generational thing when it comes to thinking a guy is out of shape and can't be taken seriously. I grew up in a time when wrestlers like Bam Bam Bigelow, Earthquake, Big Bossman and One Man Gang were all taken very seriously by the audience. Bam Bam could wrestle rings around 90% of the current WWE roster.

I would say that Owens not looking like another cookie cutter will only help him on the main roster with the right push. It makes him stand out as the prize fighter character he's portraying. More of a bare knuckle boxer than a Pacquiao. If they keep having the guy back up his strong words with strong actions than he's a main event player whenever they decide to pull the trigger, as last night's segment with Cena showed.

You caught me as I am also from that generation. Hell even Dusty Rhodes had boobs bigger than my wife's lol

I guess if Wyatt can come on strong, Owens can. Although it's rather annoying that the crowds seem to have no clue who they are. It's beginning to look like a lot of crowds either don't have the network or they pay zero attention to NXT.

Great segment. Really good way to make a "rookie" seem like a big deal.

Agreed....and it cost Cena nothing. He's long since built his legacy and now helps others develop theirs. In virtually all his matches, he absorbs far more punishment than he delivers; look at his match with Sami Zayn, who gave Cena hell.

Last night, he did it for another rookie. A cheap shot hardly diminishes Cena in any way, yet look how it boosted the stock of Kevin Owens, his huge gut and porcine-like appearance notwithstanding.

It was a quick, effective way to introduce the guy to the main roster.

I'm currently in the same camp as the posters above. I haven't seen much of Owens and I hope his ring prowess is what folks on the interwebz make it out to be but to me he looks out of shape and yet not that big (the opposite of a Bundy, One Man Gang, or Bam Bam). Like he comes off as an ass kicker when fighting small Indy guys but not as convincing when nose to nose or doing power spots with 250 pounders.

Oh, and he also has the dullest eyes. He looks like he is constantly about to cry.

Although his short segment and promo announcing the Elimination Chamber match was very compelling.

Cant say ive seen much of the guy but his promo was terrible no real emotion in it it made orton 's promos look like the rock's but i am impressed with the way there building him up to make him seem a big deal
