OOOHHHHH YEAHHHHH Macho Man working with WWE again

Mattel announced during today's San Diego Comic-Con International event that both Randy Savage (former TNA star) and Ultimate Warrior had been signed by the company to take part in their "WWE Defining Moments" wrestling action figure line.

In an even bigger shocker, Savage cut a classic "Macho Man" promo hyping his upcoming action figure at the event via video message. While video has yet to surface of Savage's promo, images have. You click here to view photos taken of Savage's video message at the event, as well as the action figure itself. The video/images feature a new look Randy Savage alongside the figure.

This would be the first WWE produced Randy Savage action figure since the early nineties when the company was working with Hasbro.

This is a good sign!! chant it with me...

HALL OF FAME!!! HALL OF FAME!!! HALL OF FAME!!

Oh yeah and there is a new Warrior figure too....

In addition to this.. here is Macho Man promoting his figure on video. I saw this same issue got Warrior and McMahon to start talking again and Vince even offered Warrior a spot in the HoF this past year. (Warrior did not return the call in time to accept)

But it got communication lines open again.. and I think this is something that could happen with Macho :)

All I can say is YES!!!
Its finally great to see WWE get over this grudge with Savage and acknowledge him for the great superstar he was. I've heard rumors of the reason why Vince holds a grudge over Savage is because he took advantage of and had sex with Stephanie Mcmahon when she was 14, but I honestly dont believe that theory. I really hope he gets inducted next year mostly because i'm going to the HoF!! :D

Don't jump too far into this. This could just be a merchandise only thing. It'd be stupid for WWE to not acknowledge the star they made out of Savage, but just because they are making a toy for him does not mean he's going into the Hall of Fame. And just because he signed a deal to create a toy of himself doesn't mean they are on good terms either. Only time will tell how far this goes.

This is amazing! From the looks of it I would assume that we are going to get ourselves an awesome recreation of the WrestleMania VII Career vs Career match...this is a better sign than most when it comes to the speculation of Macho Man's relations with World Wrestling Entertainment. Bottom line is, he might not have a Hall of Fame nod yet, but this is awesome news.

I definitely would not assume this means they are working together again, however! This will be an awesome thing to see! Good times, for sure!

The heavens must have known I was watching my Randy Savage DVD last night!!!! :worship:

But then again, this is just merchandise, so it can still be a minimal thing to get THAT excited over. Hopefully this could be a step in the right direction, (I have my fingers crossed) but why else would they release a dvd about the Macho Man if they weren't on good terms with him to begin with is what I'd like to ponder? Hopefully this could be an olive branch for both since a dvd of your career is usually a form of respect to one, at least they didn't title it "The self- destruction of Macho Man" unlike Ultimate Warrior's one. For some reason, I'd like to be the eternal optimist on this and think that hoepfully it may not be the last relationship Mr. Savage and WWE may have in the long run. Here's to keeping our fingers crossed. :worship:

What's everyone going apeshit for? If I was in Warrior or Savage's shoes, I'd even refuse to be in the Hall of Fame alongside guys like Koko B. Ware. They put everyone in these days. It's the Hall of Shame more than anything. BESIDES, the guys are probably both broke and this is a nifty way for WWE to get some more money out of two walking corpses.

Then again, if this leads to the possibility of one of them, or both of them, being on RAW/SD, then I'd be one happy camper. I'm dying to see Savage on WWE TV again, and I can't wait to ask myself what the fuck did Warrior say once more. We'll see.

I wouldnt get to excited just yet. From what I can tell, it sounds like the Savage and Warrior deal was made with Mattel specifically and not directly with the WWE. And while I am sure that the WWE would have had to sign off on it, I think it is a little to early to get excited about a possible Hall of Fame induction just yet.

I agree. While I do think the Macho mans Halls of Fame induction is nearing I think we're still quite a ways away from Macho Madness invading the Hall of Fame. If I recall his dvd didnt even include his commentary and was hosted by Matt Striker of all people. Vince must have something against the man but no grudge lasts forever...

Who knows, maybe Vince is getting old and realizes he needs to make amends with all the people he's pissed off over the years. Not that the bad blood is all Vince's fault, especially in the case of the Ultimate Warrior. I wouldn't read too far into it, but every now and then things pop up about Savage and Warrior, and it looks like old grudges are sorta fading away just like the old stars. Maybe they realize that if people forget WHO they are, the grudges don't matter. So maybe they should just get over them and give back to the fans while they still can. While I don't even think we'll see Warrior in a WWE ring again, never say never as the saying goes. I mean, for heaven's sake Bret Hart is on a team with John Cena, Edge, and Chris Jericho going into Summerslam 2010... I would be shocked if the Macho Man didn't end up in the Hall of Fame one day, but...I wouldn't be even the least bit surprised if Warrior refused.

I agree, i think this is more Mattel realizing the value of a macho and warrior action figure rather than Vince getting over a grudge and being ready to induct these guys into the hall of fame. I just wish one day we find out wtf is going on between macho man and vince. I think if the WWE was not a public company we wouldn't even have seen the macho man dvd as vince seems to really hate the guy. This doesn't seem like a step forward towards reconciliation, plus its a lot harder when its vince that hates the other party rather than the other way around like bret hating vince. I hate to say it, but no matter who the superstar, they need vince more than he needs them so until vince is ready to bring macho into the hall or back to the WWE we'll never see it

Finally having a Macho Man figure added to my collection is fantastic news.

I have been collecting the WWE Classic Superstars line since it began in the Spring of 2004. And soon to begin collecting the new WWE Legends series.

From what Ive read in the past, Vince never agreed/allowed a Macho Man figure done for the Classic Superstars because of some ancient history between them. Once I read, that Vince was in a meeting and was asked about having a Macho Man figure done, and Vince had a long stare and said "I do not want to do business with that guy"

Maybe Vince is starting to ease up on this issue. Which is good news for everyone.

This is great news. Macho Man is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. Just look at his wrestling outfit they have him in for the figure...then look at all the boring wrestling attire they have the current "stars" wearing today. They basically got rid of all the imaginary gimmicks and cool names...gave them or forced them to use their own real boring names...threw a pair of boring trunks on them...and somehow the product got better?? lol I don't know how.

ALSO, why does the Ultimate Warrior figure come with the IC Title in this series? Wrestlemania 7 was in 1991...one year after the Warrior won the World Title against Hogan. The Warrior never had the IC title ever again once he vacated it after winning the World Title one year before the famous "Retirement Match"

The match was absolutely amazing by the way. Macho Man hit 5 consecutive Flying Elbow Drops on the Warrior...and he still kicked out. I was jumping up and down like a crazy kid!

I honestly hope this leads to a Hall of Fame induction maybe next year for the supposed WCW theme, but I'm not getting my hopes up to high. It may just be Mattel and Savage trying to cash in on his popularity, but this means that Savage had conversations, whether they were directly or through his agent, with people within WWE, which is a big step forward from where Macho Man's relationship with the E was previously. It doesn't automatically mean he's going to be in the HOF or appear on Raw, but it is one step closer at least.

I think slowly but surely Vince is trying to make amends with Macho Man the last couple of years. I mean they did Release a DVD about him so that tells me he and Savage must have had some type of contact before that project. Macho Man was one of my Favorites when I first started watching and I love his WM 7 & 8 Matches with Warrior & Flair plus his Summerslam 1992 Match with Ultimate Warrior as well. So this could lead to him maybe getting a HOF Invite soon. If Bret Hart can make up with Vince and get to have Matches at Wrestlemania & Summerslam this year then so can Macho Man.

Pink Floyd famously said "pigs would fly before they reformed" and they did at Live 8...

No situation is truly irredeemable... the rumors on Steph are nothing more than urban legend... the common wisdom is that it was that Savage promised Vince he'd stay with WWF and he reneged, and that is what started the chain of events that nearly destroyed the company... Vince let Hogan go... he wanted to keep Randy...

if it were pure fantasy then a deal would be done and Randy would be the laptop GM... but not likely... I think if anything we may see a Macho guest host slot... an important go home RAW near to either Mania or the Rumble and "Pomp and Circumstance" opens the show... No way Vince would want to turn that kind of crowd heat...

While I hesitate to make the claim that this means Vince and Randy have made amends (I will believe it when I see it) I do think this is at least a peaceful overture, a small step towards the two of them at least doing business together. They will never be friends, in all probability...but who thought we would ever see Bret Hart back in the WWE either?

The fact that the DVD set was respectful to Savage, a tribute rather than a burial (see the Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior) was an olive branch too. Eventually, Randy Savage will be in the WWE Hall of Fame...but it is far too soon to proclaim it will be this year.

I don't understand why everyone's going crazy over this. The WWE is just making some money for 40 year old fans who go around saying "IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMMIT!" and actually waste their money on buying action figures. I don't think he's going to get inducted just for participating in an action figure line, but hey, anything's possible.

Shoot, Im not 40..In fact im 31 and a i looove macho man..I just showed my 5 year old neice (who watches wrestling now with me) the video and the macho man dvd and she laughed her butt off at him..and shes a pretty big wrestling fan...

I dont have a "collection" of figures but the ones i like i buy when i see enm..anything i see HBK, anything the Miz, a few of the classics that entertained me amd ones who remind me of my younger days, Undertaker i buy, Bret hart i buy, and YES i will be buying the macho one the day it comes out...

Iv got ALL the heavy rubber ones from the 90's put up..prolly not worth much but man i lvoed em when i was a kid..I love the macho one in that series..iv actually had them since i was a kid and bought..

I wouldn’t get too ahead of myself, if I were you. The WWE have created a toy for Randy Savage and that is really nice to see. However, I think it scenarios like this, it is far too easy to jump to conclusions and I am wary of doing that myself.

If the WWE is trying to mend the bridge with Randy Savage, then more power to them. He was a great legend for the WWE and the fans still adore him. For both parties, this would be a really good move and they would be silly not to attempt to mend some fences after all this time. If they were to try and reconcile their differences, then I could see it being very lucrative for both parties. The WWE could sell Macho Man merchandise and that would invariably bring in some money as the fans go wild for something that they have not seen in a long time and that is Macho Man merchandise.

Also, it gives Macho Man some exposure that he could certainly use to his advantage. He is very entertaining and I could definitely see him following the same route as Bret Hart and perhaps having a small cameo on Raw or something. I don’t think it would be anything major if it was to happen but I could definitely see him coming back for something if the WWE are serious about reconciling. We have all talked about his induction into the Hall Of Fame and this year it may be something more concrete than just gossip and hearsay.

I think that although they have come out with an action figure for Randy Savage, Vince and him still have some bad-blood between each other. We all know how the E is all about making their merchandise sales bigger, and draws/ratings bigger, so what better way to do this than by bringing The Macho Man back. I would love to see him have one more run, and this could absolutely be possible if Vince and Randy were able to put the past behind them, like Vince and Bret were.

This is indeed pretty cool to myself and many others i am sure. It may be something small such as a merchandise deal but its a foot in the door and with any luck it could get the wheels in motion for a possible Hall of Fame induction down the line.
