Yeah he was a very good friend of mine that I went to school with for many years, he was one of the original members of a sort of "crew" that my friends and I had in and after high school. Saw him only 2 weeks before it happened, he was back on leave and we had a grand old fucking time getting drunk at the bar, and then sneaking behind some random trucks to smoke some pot with him, the first time he'd been able to smoke weed in a long ass time. That night holds a special place in my heart now that he's passed on. IED in Afghanistan is what killed him. God damn shame, it really hit this entire town hard, EVERYONE knew him and his family and there were lines out the door and around the block for 5 hours at his wake.

Sucks, but what can you do besides grieve and honor their memory? Thanks for the condolences.

Ugh I'm not looking forward to Steen vs. Generico Volume 9012, they really need to end that damn feud already. Rest of the card looks good though, I didn't know Kyle O'Reilly had signed a deal with ROH, he's a talent on the rise.

I own the box set. Incredible series. Focuses much more on character development than the movie, which was more focused on the fights. It's amazing how many emotions O'Malley manages to pump out of you with simple drawings. They're DEFINITELY recommended. Both comics and the movie are great in their own ways, and work together well.

My laptop charger shit the bed so I've been AWOL from the internet mostly for this past week, was able to borrow my sister's for a few days. Part should be coming in the mail tomorrow so I should be on more soon hopefully.

Not much in North American terms but here it is like the end of the world so I could not be bothered either driving down or risking taking an age to get there and maybe not be able to get a taxi back again.

Instead, I am finishing off some thesis rewrites and might crack open a beer later while watching some darts and then one of my massive "dvds 2 watch" pile.

Thanks, it really caught my eye. It's the cover of an album by this group Have a Nice Life called Deathconciousness. Hard to describe what it is...like moody post-punk-indie-avant-garde? I have no clue, but they're an amazing group and I fell in love with the album cover. So gothic and eye-catching.
