Official Summer Slam 2007 Thread

One Big WIll and mighty norcal first of One Big Will we are tired of hearing you defend John Semen he will lose cause its been planned awhile back and having him beat Orton ruins his credibility as he beat everyone why cannot the boytoy of mcmoron lose its been over a year since he lost to RVD why can t he lose again a year later it gets boring that he wins and keeps it and McMoron doesn t realize how many jeer John Semen so obviously that title will change hands and they talked about the IC title changing hands b ut that is screwing things up there as Umaga is face now not heel so I don t see that happening!
And for mighty mouse I mean mighty norcal what is weird and ******ed when Edge could spear they can make him a face again and that would receive a tremendous loud pop from fans duh!!
WHen they say original plans it means they will stick with it coz NJ is Orton city so having him win and retain his title will further anger fans and feel deceived and fooled my McMoron so he should think twice and satisfy his fans and pockets at the same time coz then we will boycott this WWE Garbage!

Things I hope happen (title wise) at Summerslam:

-Orton beats Cena and they feud for awhile until HHH is ready

-Batista gets the title back and starts a feud with Big Daddy V

-John Morrison keeps his belt and finds someone else besides CM PUNK.

-Ken Kennedy can win the IC title and build up a decent middle-upper card battle.

First & foremost.. learn to spell.. it took me way to long to try & filter through your rambling. Now then..

I'm NOT intentionally defending John Cena.. but come the hell on.. who in their right mind sees him losing? 97% of everyone, correct? CORRECT! Therefore.. what does W.W.E. love to try & do? SCREW PEOPLE'S PREDICTIONS OVER! You said theres no way they wouldn't have Orton win, cause NJ is Orton's town & whatknot.. well guess what.. last year at Summerslam, Edge beat Cena in Cena's hometown.. then Cena turned around & beat Edge at Unforgiven in Edge's hometown.. furthermore, Randy Orton beat Chris Benoit.. in Benoit's home country. So figure that out, when you base your opinion on allowing someone to win, because its "there town."

Secondly.. for the last time, cause apparently people who love to object don't read everything I type.. a "rumored report" does NOT mean it'd happen. Big deal, they've been planning this for a while now.. they were also planning Taker to have a long Championship reign, then Edge.. but injuries screwed both of them over. My point.. PLANS CHANGE!

I'm so sick of everyone talking about credibility too.. Khali would lose his monster cred if he lost. (he's lost before, it won't be something new) Orton would lose his legend killer cred if he lost. (Orton's lost before to main eventers, it won't be something new) Cena has been "made" to overcome all odds.. if noone predicted so easily that Orton would be the one to "shock" the world & take the Championship.. it might have happened.. & it still MAY.. however, since 98% of the wrestling world sees Cena losing.. why not let him pull out another F.U... especially to all those who "know" so damn well he'd drop the Championship.

You bunch of bastards are making me sick to my stomach.. quit objecting to this already, its an opinion.. I'm fine with you making yours.. but quit making me continue defending someone even "I" want to lose the damn Championship.. he can't hold it forever.. he's human, he'll die sometime.. lol

FINALLY.. Edge returning as a face wouldn't be a great thing. His entire career was made off him sleeping with Lita. Sure, to me, he'll always be great.. but the world didn't fully take him as a serious Main Eventer until his Rated R - girlfriend stealing stuff came into play.. besides all that, you're assuming W.W.E. would be stupid enough to allow Khali to retain & stay World Champion for 3-4 (or longer) monthes.. if that happens, I'd completely be shocked.

It's rumoured that Cade & Murdock vs. Cryme Tyme might be added to the card. Why? Does anyone want to see this? There not over enough to be on the card. Why not add D & D vs. Hardy & MVP to the card? MVP doesn't have to do much. And both he and Hardy deserve the pay day. It would certainly get a big reaction if Hardy won a title at S.S. Or even add Hornswoggle vs. Noble. Finlay's midget is more over than most people on Smackdown.

If I had to guess, I would say because WWE is not comfortable putting MVP on a major event that is being aired live with his condition. Even if their concern is on the over-protective side, I can understand it. There has already been one death live on a PPV, and plenty of tragedy in recent months that WWE doesn't and can't play fast and loose with MVP's health and is much better served to air on the side of caution. Also, the atmosphere of a PPV might make MVP try to exert himself more than just a Smackdown taping. This is just a guess, but it does seem logical to me. And, from a business persepctive, I don't think that adding Hardy/MVP vs. D&D is going to dramatically increase the buyrate of SummerSlam, but it is a much more appealing TV main event than Batista vs. Khali for the 38th time.

As to why Cade and Murdoch vs. Cryme Time? As someone who used to go to a lot of Devils vs. Rangers games at the Meadowlands when I lived in Jersey, I can assure you that plenty of people from NYC make the trip to the Meadowlands... Its really only about a 30 minute drive.. Cryme Time is way over in general and especially so at the Raw from MSG, so I don't think there will be any problem with crowd reaction.. Its about time they pulled the trigger on this match anyway with the buildup from over the past few weeks.

I personally do not like Randy Orton and he sounds like a real jackass in real life and needs bringing down a peg or two.

So in that respect I do not think he deserves to win the WWE title at all, On the other hand I cannot stand super man Cena either and I really really want him to lose the title big time, and He smeared the belt by blinging it.

I'd rather HHH won it off Cena quite honestly, As for tonight its hard because I do not want Randy to win it but I want Cena to lose it lol.

However despite what I think, Initially I thought Randy is probably gonna win this match but over the past few weeks now im not so sure, call it a gut feeling but I think Cena is going to pull it out the hat and Retain here with his STF of doom. You have been warned!

Updated card, so naturally, updated pov of the situation:

Diva Battle Royal: Don't care. Some of those in it aren't even hot, 9/10 of them can't wrestle, and I don't care one way or another who is the champion. Who do I hope wins? Someone from Smackdown so that we don't just have the same matches over and over. Who do I think will win? Beth Phoenix or Michelle McCool. The highlight of this match will be the T&A itself and that's it.

Kane vs Finlay: Don't really care. I'd much rather see Cryme Time take the belts from Cade and Murdoch. Now, I'm not a big fan of CT, but the tag team section of the WWE is really lacking right now. I don't like any tag team out there and I miss the good old days of people like the Headbangers, Owen Hart & British Bulldog, New Age Outlaws, etc. Right now, though, if I had to pick one tag team out of Smackdown and Raw that should be given the belts, its Cryme Time, because the rest have no drawing power - not even WGTT, who, albeit, are talented, but aren't drawing me as a tag team and I think they should focus on singles competition around the midcard (or slightly lower in Haas's case). Who do I want to win this match? Honestly? Finlay, because I want Hardy to win the US title soon and have a small feud with Finlay. What do I think is going to happen? I think Hornswaggle will come out, then Noble will come out, and next Friday on Smackdown we'll have a tag team match of Noble and Kane vs Finlay and Hornswaggle.

Umaga vs Kennedy vs Carlito: Could be a good match if they don't just job to Umaga. I'm still not a fan of Umaga being a face because faces tend to lose a lot and that'll ruin his credibility, and I'd much rather him move over to Smackdown and try some new opponents. That being said, I like both Kennedy and Carlito, but I'm hoping Kennedy wins this. What do I think will happen? If Kennedy wins, he'll be pinning Carlito and if Carlito wins, he'll be pinning Kennedy to feud between the two for a little bit, but Umaga won't win it I don't think.

Morrison vs CM Punk: I'm so tired of this by now. Both are talented, I'll give them that, and both have a bright future, but how many times can you see the same match over and over again and still enjoy it? Just give Punk the title, as he has Cor Von, Burke, Big Daddy V, and Thorn (to an extent) to feud with, while Morrison doesn't have anyone else besides Dreamer. What I'd like to see happen is Punk win this and then, since Dreamer has a future shot at the title, at Unforgiven I'd like a Punk/Dreamer extreme rules match with Punk coming out on top and Dreamer showing his respect to "the future".

Mysterio vs Chavo: Since I've started watching wrestling again (I didn't between pretty much 2000 till a little after the Royal Rumble of 07) I haven't seen Mysterio wrestle since his WCW days unless I'm looking at old footage from Youtube and stuff, but I still don't have any real excitement for it. Rey will win, no doubt. Move on to the next one.

HHH vs Booker: Honestly, I'm not as big of a HHH mark as most people are. Yeah, he's a great wrestler, good on the mic, been with the company a long time and is someone you can depend on in terms of having a good match, but I wouldn't put him in my top 10 favorite wrestlers or anything. Booker's a great competitor, too, but his king gimmick is really starting to annoy me, strictly because of how long his entrances is and the way he speaks. Its just like drawing out something to waste time over and over again. Frankly, I hope HHH wins and we don't have to hear about "King" Booker anymore and he can change his gimmick, but I have to agree with the rest of you guys and say the match will go to Booker via DQ from HHH using the hammer or something and still coming off as "the real winner if you ask me" to the fans.

Batista vs Khali: Again, how many times can you see the same match and still give a damn? Add that to the fact that Khali can barely move and he's facing someone that isn't a match-carrier. Batista, I'm kind of 70/30 on. I think he deserves a little more credit than he gets, however, I know he isn't the type of guy that you can put up against damn near anyone and have a good match to watch (HBK, Undertaker, Edge, Bret Hart, etc). He can, however, pull off a match better than Khali, who seriously walks around the ring like he has Forest Gump's leg braces and does nothing but the chop to the head. There's two potential outcomes to this match, as I see it. If Khali wins, then they'll be giving Taker the belt back real soon, maybe on the next ppv after Unforgiven or even on an episode of Smackdown, then Edge will take the title from him at the Royal Rumble and lose it again at Wrestlemania until they want Undertaker's supposed "long title reign" to end. If Batista wins, Edge is the next champ that drops it to Taker at Wrestlemania. Either way, if Undertaker is in a match at WM, they'll have him win it, because the streak is something they won't want to mess with and he deserves the admiration more than anybody in the WWE right now (I'd say "save for Michaels" if he hadn't taken that much time off in comparison to how much Mark's had off). I love both Edge and Taker as the champions, so either way, as long as one of them has it real soon, I'll be happy.

Cena vs Orton: I don't despise Cena as much as a lot of people do (because I haven't seen him as much as you guys have), but I sure as hell don't love the guy. His championship reign is kind of symbolic of why I stopped watching wrestling in 99, because it was pretty much only Austin or the Rock that was going to have the belt and they just received every push in the world and that was it. I got tired of it. I liked it a lot better when a champion COULD lose a belt and not regain it the next ppv or something, like what happened with HBK's reigns, Bret's reigns, etc. When you build up a Hogan, you get boring. Do I think Orton deserves the belt over everyone else? No. I'd much rather see Daivari (just kidding haha). But taking into account the injuries and the tri-brand setup, since we can't just say "I wish CM Punk could have this title" or something, Orton is the best bet right now, and I'm hoping he wins it just for something fresh. Since I've been watching WWE again, I've only seen Cena as the champ, and I'm really tired of it. What do I hope will happen? Orton will take the belt. What do I think will happen? I'm 50/50 on it, because there are lots of politics involved in it that might go overlooked. If they want to continue building Cena's "credibility", they'll have him lose at a ppv that is less of a spectacle (ala Unforgiven). Also, if Punk is to win the belt and possibly Batista, they won't want 3 title changes in one night (though I think they should, because it'll be a reward to the fans for putting up with the crappy cards they've had lately and the botched retooling of matches and so forth). If Cena retains, he'll drop it at Unforgiven. If he loses, it'll be a rematch at Unforgiven that'll end in a DQ.

Those are my predictions.

I feel like crying, for the love of sanity, please vince, what are you doing to us. Im gutted tbh, I cant really say much, what is so good about cena, whats so special about him, orton out-classed him all through the match, disgrace.

Possibly the worst summmerslam ive seen no title changes very UN entertaining what is vince doing to us fans im at a loss for words im oficially broken by this PPV the first one ive ordered in so long and Im HUGELY dissapointed I will not order a pay per view until something changes honestly who is gonna take the title off of Cena I guess Triple H hopefully sooner rather than later Punk lost again as well as Batista How many times is Punk gonna lose to Morrison anyways I think I was just robbed of 40 dollars

WOW

Dammit, I feel like a sucker for thinking Orton was gonna win after reading it on here. I thought all 3 major championships would switch hands, and none did. I was so stoked for Orton to be champ

Terrible PPV...no title changes...Khali loses by DQ? I was hoping for Teddy Long to come out and restart the match...would have made it half exciting...CM Punk should have won the ECW title tonight...Cena needs to die...simple as that...I would go to jail for life for murdering him happily...just because I am so sick of seeing him as champion. I would like to donate money to TNA to start another Monday Night War after this awful PPV.

I'm sorry, I stayed up until four in the morning to discover that Randy Orton was beaten in about two moves after owning the match and, because I'm so shortsighted... well, my sign off says it all really.

Hot damn, I'm Mrs. Sam!!

Total disgrace. Again and again and again. Cena's gimmick and ring ability is old, boring and becoming an uther joke because of this.
And Who's next? Triple H the hope. Cant see Vince getting cena over his son in law! But You have to wonder after this.
Deeply considering not ordering unforgiven if i have to see this cena defend the title crap again!!!
Again im disgusted.

I warned you all Cena was gonna win so this is no shock to me at all to be honest although I want cena to lose the wwe title I do not want Randy orton to have it.
It was obvious really - Orton had owned Cena every week leading up to the PPV so of course super man was gonna win when it mattered.
Cenas No selling is annoying as hell though, and its same old thing he gets owned then comes back magically no sells all his oppoents offense and does his 3 moves and wins. Bollox. lol

Nice to see Stone cold make a appearence - I think as soon as MVP mentioned a beer drinking contest we all knew what was coming lol.

The Khali Batista match was absolutly ABOMINABLE I have not seen anything so bad in YEARS and the finish was horrendus and not even credible for many reasons. Something tells me I am not going to be the only one who nearly threw up watching this match.

HHH vs King booker was quite good of course HHH was over as hell but im glad the match was competative and not just solely HHH squashing everything Booker did before the pedigree.

Rey vs Chavo was a similar thing really I knew Rey would win but they made a decent match out of it rather than it just been a quickish Rey dominating win because hes just returned.

I don't really have much comment on anything else things were just predictable really, the show wasn't bad in some parts but in others it was Horrific.

I'd rate it a C-

So not agreeing with you that cena is the worst ever (which is wrong) makes people who dont like orton or who like cena bad peole and not wrestling fans. Its a shame that of the few cena fans who dont spam and who arnt dicks to the people that dont like cena ar oppressed and told they are wrong and that they should just get like emo and slit their wrists. Cena is doing his job keeping a part of the company in good light hes their shining star right now. it would look good for wwe if the put the title on orton with his past history.

who NEEDS the title right now? who NEEDS it to get over?

Wow...every championship retained, the returning faces beating the heels, and the most predictable diva winning the battle royal.....great job, WWE, on turning what could've been a big ppv with some changes to freshen things up into another job fest and waste. Now you've killed Orton's credibility of beating Cena by having him kick out of the RKO, you've killed Punk's standing in ECW by having him lose 3x in a row to Morrison who was a last minute replacement in the first place, you've still got a WHC that can barely walk straight, and Umaga has no credible means of losing the title. *Applause*

Hey, is anybody looking forward to the next "unbeatable odds" Cena retain, the next "could he put down the Great Khali? Oh, no, he didn't" match, the next 6 weeks of ECW consisting of Morrison's lengthy and boring speeches with Joey Styles having a fake heart attack of excitement? Lol

Alrighty I guess I'm going to throw my 2 cents into this Summerslam...
Triple Threat IC Match Umaga vs Kennedy vs Carlito
I certainly did not see Umaga retaining. I'm not complaining about it though, I personally think he's a pretty good IC champ. Espically for not being able to do promos.
Rey vs Chavo
bleh Everything I expected happened... Same thing goes for the HHH match... It just seems that whenever a big star is returning they win, so for both of those matches I was not at all impressed, but it was good to see both HHH and Rey back.
Kane vs Finlay
If that was supposed to bethe comedy match of the night it was everything but... waste of a match slot IMO
Diva Battle Royal
What could you expect. Unless someone was gunna jump brands it was either going to be Melina or Beth Pheonix, so again not surprised
ECW title match CM Punk vs Morrison
Probably one of the better matches of the night. I enjoyed it, but I think it was a little to short. As much as I like CM Punk I think it's time for a new #1 contender though...
WHC title Batista vs Khali
What can I say Khali=greatness

So overall I'd give the PPV a C at best. Notice that I didnt touch on the WWE title match, I'm a little too disgusted right now by that whole thing... All I can hope for is a rematch with that and Orton win... It just gets really old seeing anyone as champ for so long... Best things in the PPV for me: HHH return, Stone Cold stunning MVP

I hate to say this but this is getting to a point that I really don't care whether Cena keeps the title or loses the title anymore it is so damn predictable. The Wrestlers that are facing him beat him down pretty much control the whole match and then SUPER CENA makes an apperance does the 5 move Shuffle and all that jazz connects with a FU or STFU and then it's all over from there.

I'm going to make a promise If Cena does not lose the title by the end of this year I might be done with the WWE.

Tonight's SummerSlam PPV was a mixed bag for me. Match of the night had to be Cena vs. Orton. Love him or hate him, Cena sure knows how to put on an entertaining main event. The match started out slow, but as it went on both he and Orton gelled really well. I would love to see a rematch!

The only other match that really delivered was Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero. Rey looked as great as ever! Up until Cena vs. Orton it was my match of the night.

The rest of the card wasn't really good, imo. The HHH/King Booker match was average at best, but that can be expected. So no harm there. I bet their rematch at Unforgiven will be better, not 5-star match better but better none the less. The Nitro/Punk match was good from a wrestling standpoint, but the wrong guy went over! Who is going to take CM Punk as a serious threat as a challenger for a world title now. Batista/Kahli was the same old same old. The triple threat match for the I.C. Title was good but too short imo. The Kane/Finlay match should have been left off the PPV, they should have used that time for the triple threat match.

All in all I would give this PPV a C-

TNA is a joke rite now aswell so u wont be gettin much competiton from there.

well another ppv another cena retains title and another wwe fans screwed out of a good ppv. the only good thing about this ppv was the stage set.

The last time i was so disappointed in a ppv was wrestlemania when cena made hbk tap out.

Before that it was last years wrestlemania where Cena made HHH tap out.

Thats 3 ppv's i ordered cause i thought cena was gonna lose counting tonight. Im done. Never again am i gonna be pawned into ordering another damn cena ppv.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok justinsayne deep breaths deep breaths

Ok now that I got that out of the way, Cena beats Orton, Cena fucking beats Orton, this was a great match, bullshit finish, but good match, I am so very good I didn't drop a penny on this ppv, and got to see it for 100% free, now lets run down the card

Kane/Finley- well you read the results the best part of this match was Hornswoggle

Diva Battle Royal was a joke as expected, but Beth Phoenix won so that's good

IC title match- not bad but not great, Umanga won, when I thought Kennedy should've but whatever

Fucking Cena

Rey/Chavo- Good return but not a great return, obvisouly Rey was going to win everyone knew that, but what the fuck was up with the silver?

CM Punk/Morrison-this was honastly the let down of the night, I mean seriously how the fuck can they keep dropping the ball with these two guys?

Triple H/ Booker- not as good as WM19 but decent, really wish Trips would turn Heel, he's much better at that, this face shit was a bit hard to buy, but good to see him back

WHC-bad, just bad, though Batista did get a huge pop from everyone in the bar when he hit the spinebuster, which was a first, never heard Batista get a pop for anything....ever

Cena vs. Orton *sigh*:disappoited:, I think I've said enough about this match already, as has everyone else, what the fuck Vince, what the fuck?

I think the HUGE bullshit chant that took place at the bar pretty much summed it up, Bull shit

the Stone Cold/MVP beer drinking segment was great, very popular in the bar...go figure

Ah all in all, I give this ppv a 3 out of 5, and that's being very generous, it as average at best but from what I've seen from WWE's PPV this year it was good

At least Triple H is back. He is no longer in the tag division with Shawn Michaels nor will he drop to the mid carder section. I hope this will lead to a Trips vs Cena match again but Triple H ends up proving he indeed is the TRUE king of the WWE.

I was very hyped; the card IMHO made me more hyped than I was for WrestleMania this year but what can I say? What a let down, almost as the event did nothing nor had any impact other than bringing in Triple H and Rey Rey 619.
