Official Hall Of Fame 2007 Thread.

hennig deserves this, great athlete, charisma, had it all

besides owen hart being in there, macho man randy savage needs to get in there, if he doesn't FUK wwe

I second that about The Macho Man. But im happy bout Curt to since he was the total package with good promos and great matches

I gotta agree with everybody before me, Curt Hennig was a perfect choice for the HOF this year, and his legacy lives on even though he isn't still here with us.

And hell yeah, Owen Hart needs to be in there OR ELSE.

Yes i cannot believe it has taken the WWE to induct imo like others has said the best athlete to never win the belt. I allways loved his matches and promos and is in my top 5 favourite wrestlers of all time. I also agree tht Randy Savage needs to be inducted. He is one of the biggest stars of the 80's through to the 90's so he needs to be inducted. Others imo should be Ricky The Dragon Steamboat and this is jst me also i think LOD should be inducted. I wouldnt argue bout Arn Anderson. There are jst so many tht should and can be inducted it is hard to choose.

Yes there are loads of deserving names, but Savage and Owen definitely deserve it the most as of right now. WWE is on the right track with Hennig's induction though. I really hope this means a Mr. Perfect DVD set is on the way!

I can see Owen going in maybe next year, as if he were going in I'm sure they would have mentioned his name first or second, since that's a huge induction and WWE have always named the biggest inductees first in the previous years. You never know, though.

Not so sure about Randy Savage, because as far as we know he's still on very bad terms with WWE. And while WWE have made friends with their rivals from the past (Bret, etc.) maybe Savage hasn't even returned WWE's calls even if they had tried to contact him about the HOF. I'm hoping WWE will surprise me and induct Savage. Which, by the way, Owen and Savage (like Perfect) are also in dire need of career DVD's.

- Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler are confirmed for induction this year.

- Larry Hennig, the father of "Mr. Perfect," will induct his son Curt Hennig.

- The Wild Samoans (Afa and Sika) were asked to be in the hall of fame a few weeks back, as previously reported, and did agree.

- Ric Flair is the leading candidate to be the headling act for the 2008 hall of fame.

- Not sure what happened to The Sheik talk, a fixture in Detroit for years. Vince McMahon has never liked The Sheik, and nephew Sabu is basically in the WWE dog house, so that may doom his fate.

Bam Bam needs to be inducted i mean he was a legend in almost every company.

I gotta say, I'm absolutely thrilled that the Wild Samoans are being inducted, they were definately one of the most innovative and underappreciated tag teams of their era. I had no idea what a samoan was until I started watching wrestling back in my early days. Also, no one deserves to be in there more than JR and the King, undeniably the greatest commentating duo in wrestling.

Let's hope next year they don't completely stiff Owen Hart, huh? Does anybody else really deserve it more than him? Easily the greatest wrestler to never hold the world title.

I think they will induct Owen in a really insensitive WWE way. In 2009 10 year's after his death in the same state that he died in. That sound's like a WWE thing to do. Hopefully Bret does induct him when the time come's.

Although I've heard his wife want's nothing to do with WWE so it's possible she would decline the invitation.

the honkytonkman website has been changed to something else, apparantly honky had other endeavers, wether or not this means he accepted a legends deal with the WWE and had to give up his site, and will be inducted soon remains to be seen. Many deserve the induction but Bruno, Savage, and The Honky Tonk Man aren't on the best terms with the WWE. While there are others that deserve the recognition, these deserve it sooner than later.

this hall of fame isnt as good as i expected.mr.perfect and dusty rhodes are great additions.jerry lawler is an excellent choice but should be inducted when he is retired.even he is disappointed with the fact that he is being iducted when he isnt done commentating for RAW

As noted earlier tonight here on the site, The Shiek, who will be inducted by Sabu, has been confirmed to be inducted in to this year's WWE Hall of Fame. The official announcement will be made within the next few weeks. Shiek is something of a local legend in Detroit, the site of this year's WrestleMania. Shiek was the best pre-1984 draw in the history of the city. Additionally, he and Buddy Rogers were probably the two biggest drawing long-term heels of all-time. Vince McMahon was going back and forth in regards to inducting him because he never really liked him. When he passed away in January 2003, McMahon refused to acknowledge his death on television. Also, Sabu has been in the doghouse for quite some time, and some thought he wouldn't make it to WrestleMania. But everything seems to be fine now and Shiek's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame is good to go. What with the inductions of Curt Hennig and The Shiek, this more than likely thwarts previous plans to induct The Von Erich family into the Hall of Fame this year. WWE doesn't like to induct too many people who have passed away per year; two inductions is pretty much the limit.

Dave Meltzer also reports that Mr. Fuji will be going into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.

This should pretty much make up the 2007 HOF Class

Dusty Rhodes -(Cody and Dustin)
Mr. Perfect- (Father)
The King- (I would have said JR)
Nick Bockwinkel (Someone he wrestled from the AWA)
Wild Somoans (Captain Lou)
JR (Austin?)
The Shiek (Sabu)
Mr. Fuji (any member of his former tag teams)

But the odd thing there is only 3 weeks until WM 23 and there is 4 names yet to introduce so Im guessing someone from this list is not being inducted or two names on night will be.

Shiek should be inducted if not this year, then next year. If not next year, than the year after that but they have to induct him sooner or later. Sabu doesn't deserve to induct him because of his behavior backstage but he is the closest guy to Shiek now so I guess it'd have to be him. I was never too fond of the Von Erichs. I did respect them but they didn't really take to my liking. Mr.Fuji was always one of my favorites because he was so funny and such a great manager. I'll never forget seeing him as a little kid. Jerry Lawler was inducted WAY too soon but I guess WWE needed him in there or something. J.R will get a huge pop. No doubt about that. Dusty Rhodes, another one who deserved it this year. Now, I want to talk about Owen Hart. I know how his wife doesn't want anything to do with WWE, but eventually, she will crack. I think she'll do it. I guess stubbornedness runs in the Hart family *Cough* Bret. But really, Owen was probably a better wrestler than Bret but he just never got the big main event push he deserved. I don't think we should have to wait 'till 2009 to see him in there but you might be right on that one. WWE really does like anniversaries and things of that nature. I just hope one of Owen's family members induct him because that's the reason he wrestled. For his family. R.I.P

I think its nice to see JR and King get in, I have a lot of respect for them.

I agree on Owen, he should of already been inducted.

I'm excited about Fuji being entered. He was always my favorite manager. I would love it if Demolition & The Power's Of Pain inducted him. Mostly because I'm curious what Ax & The Warlord look like now.

Hey guys - just curious if anyone is looking for tickets to the Hall of Fame. I was fortunate to get 2 balcony tickets the day the went on sale but even more fortunate to get 2 floor tickets yesterday. I'm interested in selling the 2 balcony tickets for face value to first person interested. They were purchased from ticketmaster.com and I just want to help someone else enjoy the experience like my wife & I are going to. We will be going to our first Wrestlemania as well - so really looking forward to the experience. Anyways - let me know if any interest - should be a great Hall of Fame ceremony.

The reason Ricky Steamboat was shown using that name on RAW this past week during the Nick Bockwinkel HOF segment is because he had finalized a deal with his ex-wife Bonnie and thus he owns the rights to the name "Ricky The Dragon Steamboat" again. This move would enable WWE to use him in some sort of legend capacity as a character, make merchandise on him, and at some point induct him into the Hall of Fame.

I'm glad they can induct Steamboat. Brilliant wrestler. It look's like he'll be inducted next year though. Also Steamboat as G.M. would be good.

I would love to know the average age of the poster/visitor to this site. I was disheartened to see Dusty Rhodes trail Curt Hennig by such a vast number on the main site.

I think for anyone here 15-21, Hennig was the bigger star.

But for anyone 21-30 that remembers Dusty, there is NO WAY he wasn't the bigger star. Dusty had multiple World Title runs, where as Hennig never entered that upper-echelon.

Its not that Hennig doesn't deserve to be in, I just don't think he deserved to win the poll by such a large margin.

Hennig will be in, but there is a reason why guys like Owen Hart, Bam Bam Bigelow and other wrestlers that have passed will not make it this year. The HOF ceremony is intended to be a special, emotional, and fun time for everyone. Unfortunately, if 3 or 5 of the guys being inducted are not living, it makes for the event itself to not be is good, serves as a black mark on the lifestyle associated with the wrestling business, and skips over living inductees that it would mean a lot too.

To me, the wrestling hall of fame is weird. To me, I would liken Curt Hennig to a former Lions WR Herman Moore. He had outstanding ability, had a few great "seasons", but was never the best player at his position (top heel or top face.) And despite all of the success, Hennig never won the World Title.

Moore was a good player, but not a HOF candidate. Yet, to me, Hennig deserves to be in the WWE HOF. I just wish I knew the official process.

Dusty Rhodes -(Cody and Dustin)
Mr. Perfect- (Father)
The King- (the honky tonk man(there cousins))
Nick Bockwinke(bobby the brain)
Wild Somoans (Captain Lou)
JR (steve williams)
The Shiek (Sabu)
Mr. Fuji(professer tanaka)

ifs

owen hart(cris benoit,martha hart,bret hart)
randy savge(hulk hogan??)

The inductee's so far.

4309864

4276198

4115990

4115972

And Jerry ''The King'' Lawler.

It's a good selection so far. It's a bit ramshackle, I think they should be inducted in theme's. For example all the Hart Foundation together, or former NWA champion's together.

I also think if they induct a huge star like Hogan or Flair, they should be the only inductee's that year.

When they induct Flair the whole evening should be dedecated to him. Have all his family come up and make speach's. And have the like's of Steamboat, Piper and Race come up and tell story's.

As noted here before on the site, Jerry "The King" Lawler isn't too happy about being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. He thinks that you shouldn't be in a Hall of Fame until you retire. Also, WWE producer Kevin Dunn turned down his request for long time Memphis announcer Lance Russell to induct him. He also really wanted to go to a Cleveland Indians spring training game on the 31st that was taking place in Memphis, but he obviously can't go now. WWE wanted actor Jim Carrey to induct him, but he turned the request down. WWE is now trying to get William Shatner to do the induction.

WWE are stupid for thinking Jim Carrey would even consider inducting Lawler. All they did was star in a film together. It's not like having Stallone induct Hogan. Carrey still has a career. While Stallone was trying to get Rocky Balboa made at the time. He probably needed the money.
