[Official] Discussion For Aces And Eights Leader

I definately think Bully Ray has something to do with it. He is doing the most finger pointing towards James Storm, usually those are the ones or one of the people that are behind it. I hope I'm wrong, it would be cool if it was someone big we havent seen in awhile.

It can't be Bully Ray because he legit isn't a lock to resign with TNA. His contract is expiring very soon... they wouldn't place that much leverage on a guy who might walk out within the month.

At the moment, I don't particularly want there to be 'one' leader either, as I'm liking the idea of it being just a gang of thugs without too much hierarchy.

Ramblingroy682 beat me to it, but I totally think the spokesdude from last night's first A'n'8 promo was Chris "Abyss" Parks.
I'd be okay-to-cool with him being a member, as long as it's a completely different style of character to Abyss or Joseph Park.

I can see a scenario where A'n'8 jump Sting during his official Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Bound For Glory.
The lights will go off and on to reveal Jeff Jarrett standing poised in the ring, BUT .. I think Jeff will stage a shocker by smacking the shi% out of A'n'8 - a mega swerve, I believe it is called.

I'd obviously be in the minority, or more precisely, all by myself, because if there is a leader, nothing - and I mean absolutely NOTHING - would make me happier than it turning out to be Don West - the wild, wild West .. YES !!

Everyone seemed to think the talker looked like Abyss, but I really thought it was Mike Knox. Was just wondering if anyone else saw that to. I could easily be wrong, but that's who I thought it was. I think it would be cool if it was some of the ex WWE guys with Jarrett as their leader. I could even see the leader being Roode. This storyline has me really interested. Also just curious if anyone else thought the talker was Mike Knox?

I think all the people that you guys have mentioned would make great leaders for the A&8's. I especially love the Steen idea but I don't know how realistic that is. This is really intriguing storyline but it reminds me a lot of the 10.10.10 angle with abyss. He kept saying they are coming and "they" turned out to be current talent. With that being said it wouldn't surprise me if sting was the leader or someone that has already been attacked. But I'd love for it to be some new guys.

I dont think the first speaker was Abyss,
Mainly due to tattooing, the speaker had a short sleeve shirt and i couldnt see any tats, I think Abyss' tats would drop below the sleeve line. Plus Abyss' arms seem more defined that the speaker's
Finally I dont believe any of the shown members are the leader due to the prospect patches.

As for the leader ill be surprised ( and most likely happy) if it ISNT J.J.

(not too bad for my first post i think)

I think the first one in the promo was Joe. It would be freakin awesome if it just wasn't Joe seeing Bisch is giving him a little push lately but imagine if the leader was Steen. If that was the case I could see what they call a soft merger between ROH and TNA where they share creative ideas and talent but run seperate companies. Imagine Steen as the ROH and TNA World Champ and if it was Steen some sort of TNA/ROH invasion I think would happen

I think it should be none other then the founder of TNA himself Brooke and Karen would suck Jarrett would be a good choice he could say he should have been the first one in the hall of fame. And he wants control of his company back

I think TNA is throwing a swerve and wants us to think it's Abyss. I doubt that because Abyss has a new gimmick in Joseph Park. The big guy in Aces and Eights has to be the same person who portrayed the fake Abyss during Bully's and Parks match. My guess would be Mike Knox.

In the end this is almost going to have to be Jarrett or Storm.

It HAS to be legit main event power and Chris Harris (while very interesting) would not bring that because a ton of people would be like "who and why?"

As another poster said, when they did the whole, "they are coming," storyline and it ended up not being a real main event player with Abyss, then it fizzled quickly and nobody gave a damn. This has to be better than that or it will just backfire with people not giving a fuck.

I think they have worked hard on the Cowboy and it would be tough to turn him full heel and have him and Roode both working heel, thus taking away an easy rivalry to always turn to ... but it would work with the shock value and would be memorable.

In the end though, Jarrett makes the most sense and would be a solid guy to have back in the mix. Chris Harris could even be with him, that works as well.

TNA should break their bank account and give Chris Jericho a ton of money to come in and be the leader. Jericho has recently gone on record saying that he would like to wrestle a number of TNA's top stars. If it was Jericho it would be huge. However, it'll probably be Jeff Jarrett or James Storm or someone that (as much as I like them) won't cause much of a stir at all. It has to be someone that is a big star from another (WWE) company. Or it will go nowhere. All this talk about how cool it would be if it were Jarrett... come on! As much as Jarrett has always been a solid worker the unmasking of Jarrett won't do anything for TNA at all. It'll just be another large faction led by jarrett against the faces in TNA. That story been told in TNA around 10 times already. They need someone new who is from outside the company- end of story.

This storyline has intrigued fans not just of TNA but other promotions that fans support that have been extremely critical of TNA for a while. I am not saying this story can have the same affect as the NWO but this could be the final straw on the Bisch experiment in TNA. It can not be a lame reveal unless other top names are part of the group. The reveal should not take place until BFG.

I do think Cornette and Bisch should patch up whatever creative differences they have and have some sort of working agreement between the two promotions. I am not saying some sort of merger but pretty close where both promotions operate seperately but have crossover storylines where talent can be seen on both shows. How cool would it be at BFG if Zion claims there is no competition and Davey Richards comes out and makes him tap within 5 minutes to be the New X Division Champion. Also at BFG have a 30 minute draw between WGTT and Kaz/Daniels.

Here are my picks who could be the leader of A&8:
Brooke Hogan: She could a younger sexier version of Stephanie McMahon's character of turning on her famous father for power and greed. Only problem is how good can she be as a character from week to week

Karen Jarrett: One of the more obvious choices but maybe not as the leader but one of a few co-leaders of the group. She is a great heel with real life situations that has been played out on-air with some male talent

Kurt Angle: Return him as the Olympic Bad Ass that's fed up with being the face of the company and wants to ruin the careers of the people that he believes have tarnised his pro wrestling career while mentioning VKM and WWE which would generate alot of heat as a heel real quick for him

Austin Aries: As much success he has had as a face so far in TNA he has so many characteristics like HBK. Both guys are excellent as a face or heel

Surprise Pick: As mentioned above imagine if ROH and TNA could work together because for them to compete it would serve them both as a unit caue they both have alot of talent but can't get it done going against one another. The one guy who is hotter than Aries and would be cool and possibly instant ratings for TNA would be the leader of A&8 and that would be current ROH World Champion Kevin Steen
LOL how is Kevin Steen going to increase ratings? besides a small percentage of internet fans NOBODY watches ROH. So how is a guy the audience has never heard of, going to instantly increase ratings?

It should be Bischoff or Jeff Jarrett behind this group. JJ can say he has come to destroy what he created and so on, and use the disrespect of Sting being the first TNA HOF'er and not him.

Kevin Steen LOL

Kevin Steen's merchandise in the last six months has sold more than Punk and Cena. I understand the thought process with JJ being the leader but wasn't that the same reason he joined Immortal. If you put Joe with Steen you have two guys that have the capability of being similiar characters of the anti-establishment like SCSA. I am not saying those two are going to be as big as SCSA but have that badass and a big FU to management storyline wise. Also if it was Steen you would have the two hottest guys in the biz with Steen and Aries. I would say 50% of WWE fans are wrestling fans and they do watch other shows even though on these forums they may not admit it.

Jeff Jarrett... Eric Bischoff... been there done that! Every major heel faction in TNA for the last 6 years has had Jarrett in it. Bischoff is in his mid to late 50's now. So, having him as the leader doesn't do anything. The evil 50+ year old leader of Aces and eights is out to get you. Well, that may work in Hollywood, but it doesn't work in wretstling. Now, I am not saying bring in ROH guys either. No one knows wjho the heck they are. But, if TNA want's the Aces & Eights angle to go anywhere the leader has to be someone from WWE. Someone who is a big name. Jarrett and Bischoff won't do anything for this angle at all.

I could be happy with just about anyone as the leader of this faction. Jeff Jarrett seems to be the consensus pick, but at the same time, it would seem he would be coming in "cold". Jeff Jarrett is a career midcarder who had world titles placed on him once his father created a promotion. He worked in the mid-2000's, he just doesn't seem to jive with the direction TNA/IW is going in now. However.... he does seem to be the most obvious choice.

What gnaws in the back of my mind, however, is the idea that the leader of this group will be Eric Bischoff. The man has X-Pac heat with me. I just don't want to see him. He sucks the energy out of every segment I saw him in, and was a large part of the reason why I stopped watching TNA/IW. I'm *just* starting to get back into it. I have zero interest in watching the Bischoff show. He has faded into the background, which is the perfect place for him. Hopefully he has the good sense to stay there; I really hope no one in TNA/IW is thinking that the difference between 1.0 and 1.2 is Eric Bischoff.

With the high likelihood of at least another month without anything major being revealed, it leaves a lot of time to overthink things ..

Someone is letting A'n'8 into the arenas a hell of a lot.
This could be anyone .. but hey, Joseph Park hangs around the back quite a bit these days, doesn't he ?
Joseph Park, the all-too innocent attorney from Park, Park and Park .. wait, there's THREE Parks. WHAT ?!??
By simple naivety, or calculative deception, maybe, just maaaybe, he's letting a previously unmentioned other brother in - one who has a slight obsession with poker hands and prospect patches .. I think Tobias would be a cherry name for him.
I would bust a nut if James Mitchel is ultimately behind it all .. but I fear that's going a bit too old school, so I'm prepared to chalk that up as a 'one joint too many' theory.

What if the leader is someone we're already meant to have overlooked ?
Ladies and gentleman, I give you an acehole .. or rather, an asshole.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Anderson the only person to NOT be attacked, yet still accusingly confront James Storm ?
Hmmm ..
Mr. Anderson needs a bit of life .. and with this, he could convincingly carry himself back to relevance in pretty impressive fashion.
Not buying ??
Ah, well allow me to present you with some concrete stoner logic.
"Anderson .. man, it begins with an 'A', and it's 8 letters long .. it's staring us in the freakin' face, dude - it's gotta be him !!"
Sold yet ?

I have friends that work in management for both ROH and WWE and they mentioned some interesting merchandise numbers that I can't discuss. I am not saying a year from now it will still be the case but over the last six months Steen has outsold Punk and Cena in one area of merchandise and thats T-Shirt sales. Its a pretty close number but still better than the #1 and #2 guys in WWE

has anyone else noticed that it is the voice of abyss/joseph park who was speaking as the leader of Aces and 8's? Even with the voice modification it is still easy to tell that is who it is. The body type and size matches. It may not have anything to do with him when it is all revealed in the end but almost positive it is him playing the part now.

Interestingly, Joseph Park has been rounding up prospective "clients" back stage for months. Most all interviews with him ended with him running off after seeing another client off camera.

Firstly, it would be the first time I marked out for TNA, Steen in TNA would be epic, but as someone said am one of those internet fanboys who watchs ROH, so I can't see many others of the normal fans actually knowing who he is tbh.. but I can't see that happening even tho the story could be amazing, with current talent and those we already know could be involved, I would pick Bully Ray, he's great on the Mic, can go in the ring, and I dunno, it was the AA hardy and Ray promo that made me think it, and the more I thought and fantasy booked it, the better it got tbh, I don't wanna see it be JJ or EB, they can be involved, they could be the ones who helped bully find the guys, but I just have these awful visions of Big Sexy leading another group of micro talents and them being launched at every title

@RodneyMk Everybody know that the long blond hair guy is Wes brisco!!..Is Eric Young still have his big beard in his fishing show?!..Because i think it could be him for one of a the members...One of the 2 little man behind brooke Hogan yesterday),the one with the bleu ski mask(material like a bandana)..

just saw james storm get taken out by aces and eights. the guy who has been doing all of the talking for aces and eights was there and to me he looks a big dude. know as far guys that size go there is only bully ray and samoa joe that match up with this guys build. so i started to think that it could be one of them. until i thought back to when hogan got the message from aces and eight's. the guy that handed it over to hogan was a small ginger haired guy who nobody had ever seen before. but what if we have seen him before not in tna but in roh. what if the guy who delivered the message was roh wrestler el generico. generico wears a mask in roh and not many people know what he looks like without it on other then he is a small ginger haired guy. and if it turns out it is generico then the guy doing all the talking for aces and eights could well be kevin steen. anyone who has seen steen would know he would match the guys size. so if this is generico and steen then it means roh are the ones behind aces and eights. but then again we know wes brisco is playing one of the aces and eights and they are also using luke gallows. so there is a chance that its just steen and a couple of other guys from roh along with a few free agents and current tna stars. this is just my theory but does anybody else think this is possible.

I don't know who the leader of A&8's is but it can't be Masters, Gallows or Knox they dont have the star power to shock anyone. Plus they really have no personal beef with TNA they work better as hired help or thugs who attack as they have been doing. Now the one guy I can think of who would really shock alot of people if he turned out to be the Leader IMO would be Matt Morgan since its been put out there he wasn't coming back and the whole thing with his contract and everything else. With the possibilty of all that being a swerve and him coming back as the leader of Aces&8's to me would be TNA's best bet. Other than that they would need to get a big name like Batista or Edge or someone with big time name recognition in Sports entertainment world. Again this is my opinion.

You know, I'm starting to think that Joseph Park has something to do with it. The dude who interrupted Aries and company last Thursday sounded an awful lot like Abyss a.ka Joseph. Not the voice as much as the intonation and the emphasis on some words.

Could they pull off a swerve where Park(s)s is revealed as the leader? Sweet, innocent Joseph who can't even get in the ring without tripping? It's wonderful. Reminds me of the season finale of Sherlock, the BBC series, if anyone's seen it.

Early in the episode Sherlock met this skinny, feminine guy who was apparently a fan of his and a friend of Mary. Sherlock immediately stated he was gay after observing him for three seconds and using his ... Sherlock powers, and then brushes him off. Anyway, by the end of the episode this whole thing had unfolded where Moriarty was strapping explosives to people and feeding them words and what to say, leaving riddles for Sherlock, and if they didn't do what he said KABLOWEEE! So in the end they reveal Moriarty to have been the gay dude in the beginning of the episode, just fucking with everyone.

Who knows at this point?

Held off posting in this thread for a while, so sorry for the long ass post:

Saw him wrestle not too long ago in my hometown (small town where he got his start) and he was NOT in wrestling shape. He looked more like Braden Walker than Chris Harris...if you get what I mean.

Unfortunate... I marked out when Matt Hardy brought Harris back because I had destroyed the concept of him ever returning to TNA in my mind. Would've loved it if he was the leader.

There is one free agent name out there big enough to make this relevant... Batista.

Yeah he sure would be shocking, I'm no fan of his but it would be the biggest they could do.

I stand by my point. A TNA Storyline, segment, angle, or feud has never once shocked me. Even when somebody turns in TNA it feels unimportant because of the frequency in which Eric Bischoff enjoys turning people face and heel. Sometimes I forget if Mr. Anderson is bad or good this week... or if Joe is a good bad ass or a jerky bad ass and etc.

To use some recent examples...Although "THEY" did suck, Jeff Hardy turning heel did shock me. As did the Harris thing mentioned above. And I thought Storm would turn heel not Roode and when Aries defeated Roode that shocked me too. And as for Anderson and Joe, that's part of their characters.

I've started thinking last week that it could turn out to be Austin Aries. He's definitely got the stuff to be a great heel, and last week when Angle mentioned that it was eight guys who attacked, I though maybe they would be the "eights" while A-Double would be the "aces". It's only a flimsy connection, but I could see it being made.

That is pretty sweet. Aries has been the primary guy going against them. Although I'm not keen on the idea of the leader willing to be beaten down just to cast off suspiscion.

The fake Abyss was apparently a Team 3D academy student.

What if the leader is someone we're already meant to have overlooked ?

Aha now THIS idea I like the most, very good sir. And remember....TWO Aces's....ANDERSON.....ANDERSON

Kevin Steen's merchandise in the last six months has sold more than Punk and Cena.

Bullshit. Don't believe that for one second.

the guy who has been doing all of the talking for aces and eights was there and to me he looks a big dude. know as far guys that size go there is only bully ray and samoa joe that match up with this guys build.

The guy looked pretty fat yeah and judging by his skin tone I think it looks to me like D'Lo Brown. I know he's an agent working for TNA and I know he's pretty fat now. Hope he isn't in the final lineup though.
