[Official] All Things Becca Thread

I'm thinking that means there's going to be a ton of warnings and infractions, and probably a tightening up of the rules...Right?

Hardly. The rules get changed once a year or so, and mods rarely if ever get infracted. We'll battle it out in that place where we go, or we'll just not discuss it at all.

I was saying warnings and infractions for all of us non-mods...Or, at least those that will be bickering and fighting like this is the 4th grade playground.

I didn't mean rule changes, just rule tightening. Stronger enforcement of the rules in place (i.e. less tolerance on light flaming, and less kindness to spammers).

The whole sexism thread was not meant to be taken seriously. I thought that was the entire point? If people were legitimately going out of their way to make sexist comments, it would deserve deletion. They weren't 'prejudiced comments'. They were joking comments. Fair difference.

I will admit, part of what made it funny was how much offence you took to it. Sexism isn't even an issue in society anymore, so why it was such a big problem is beyond me. But whatever.

Don't know if I'd say it's not an issue today but that's a debate for later. Other than that, pretty much agree. It went on too long though. If it goes for maybe 10 posts and 2 days, it would have been fine.

LOL, if this were true, I probably wouldn't have taken as much offence to it. But it shows how much people don't realise something if it doesn't affect them.

I'll go out on a limb, and agree with most of what you're saying. It was funny for a few posts, and grew old quick. It was against the rules, it got closed, that should've been the end of it.

However, sexism is still pretty big, at least in America, and apparently in the UK. It shouldn't be, but people have their own egos to stroke, and it causes problems...

Well I don't believe it's as big an issue as people make it out to be. I'd like examples as to how it is. Women have so many rights groups and all that today that it's probably impossible for a man to get away with doing anything towards them. Sexism is still there, but I don't think it's an issue at all. War and finance are issues. Not sexist jokes.

There's still the belief that a woman's place is in the kitchen, or home taking care of the babies, and have less rights in general. At least around me, that's how it is.

I disagree with the women belonging in the kitchen, because the fact that most chefs are males, disproves that right away.

I don't care if you make a thread saying i'm wrong and you're right, but if you say "I'm right" just once, I'll snap :)

Damn...I leave for a few hours and stuff just ROLLS downhill...do I even WANNA know!?

If you've got time...And lots of it...I'd suggest looking through all the threads, and catching up. It's at least a good read, if nothing else...

Dude, this is one if those things thats left to the individual... I mean, my wife works, and I stay home and watch my daughter... I WANT to work, but I can't find a job to save my life... I'd PREFER she not stay home, because when she IS home, she doesn't do shit. Doesn't cook, doesn't do laundry, doesn't clean anything...She's lazy. If she DOES cook, I fear for my life, If she DOES do laundry, it's HER clothes, not mine, and well...she NEVER cleans...

Some women still DO believe a womans place is at home, in the kitchen, playing housewife. I personally believe a woman has a right to choose just as much as we do... If a woman wants to sit at home and pump out kids, that's her choice. If she wants to be a career woman, that's her choice too. But for someone to outright say that a woman's place IS in the kitchen, is just ignorant. Alot of women, though, want equality AND special treatment... What do you do about that?

Since when was having arguments 'going downhill'? I think it's actually a nice break from the usual stuff anyway.

The usual stuff is the arguments, isn't it?

Since you are apparently a Hurricane fan, what'd you think of his match with Benjamin? I thought it was solid, and completely marked out when he stopped and did the pose with "Wassup wit dat?!"

I love your sig.

You shoul make yourself a hate club in Shawshank. :p

Feel free to make it yourself.

I haven't watched SmackDown yet. In fact, I've probably watched one or two wrestling shows in the last month. But it would be good to actually see Hurricane doing some Hurricane-like things again. And I'd completely forgotten that Benjamin was still around. Might have to watch the match.

That was the only blatant Hurricane gimmick-y thing that he did. He still uses the Shining Wizard as his finisher, and he has the Hurricane logo on his shorts, but that's about it. When he did that, and the crowd popped huge, it almost seemed like the WWE was testing the waters to see if it could work. They were probably afraid of bringing him back from injury like that, thinking people would take him as a joke...

I'm so glad he's using the "What's up with that" again.

But tell me, since his match with MVP, please tell me he's had a haircut. Looked like a damn hobo or something.

This was the first time in close to 2 months that I had a chance to actually watch, but I'll guess no. It's still real long. If he goes to the Hurricane character, I'm sure he'll cut it

I think she just became my favrotie Friend, over Phoebe

Becca has seen the Dark Knight. She expected it to be shit, so she was pleasantly surprised. But I probably won't see it again.
