I believe it's when the baby becomes viable i.e. it can live outside the womb.

But what British law states as abortion cut off and what a baby can survive at is two different things.

My viewpoint is this;

I am against abortion, full stop.

I however would not promote making abortions illegal as that would push the number up causing death's to both mother and child.

I think more needs to be worked on at the root causes (ie money problems etc.)

So you think that if some girl goes out, gets hammered, has a one-night stand and gets pregnant, she should just be able to get rid of her unborn child because of her own idiocy? If you get pregnant like that, maybe having a kid will teach you some responsibility. You shouldn't be able to destroy a potential life just because you're a ****. That's your own fault.

I believe in extreme cases abortions can be had up to 24 weeks in pregnancy. By extreme I mean the illness of the baby or possible death of the mother. Most abortions are carried about before this time, which is before the time a baby can survive outside the womb.

I suppose you've got a point that it would complicate issues. The only thing I'm saying is that I don't believe this is a black and white issue. There's a lot of grey area. It's a debate that will rage on and on, and I don't believe there will ever be one answer that everyone will agree with. It's just not possible.

Oh, I agree, abortion has to stay legal. If it didn't, then women would just go to back-street clinics, and we'd end up with more deaths on our hands from diseases picked up in those kind of places.

A) This would mean a woman having to say it was rape, something she shouldn't have to do. Many women don't say anything about it to anyone. Especially not hours after the attack. Weeks later that kit is useless.

B) The guy could say it was consensual = no abortion for her.

C) There are more reasons, I just can't be bothered right now.
