They go on towards the end of the year. Everyone on the site can vote for you in specific categories that you get nominated for. And it gets NASTY when posters try to lobby their votes.

Last year was an incredible year for Tenta and myself. We tied at the end of the year for ROTY. That's why he's my bromance bad-mofo.

Once we get enough debaters and judges, we'll start. Looks like the judges will be covered just fine, but I want an excess of people to sign up for the debating part. As last year's winner, I've decided that myself and my greatest rival from last year get to hand-pick the qualifiers for the league.

Well, see here's the thing. You won't find out until the day your thread starts up. Then, you usually get a choice of being first, or deferring, if you're the home debater. So it's really up to you when you post, but you don't find out that ahead of time what you get.
