Obama Signs Executive Orders on Gun Control

The 1-2-3 Killam

Mid-Card Championship Winner
This morning President Obama signed into action executive orders on gun control. The republican party is freaking out, calling it un-constitutional. The NRA has released a video calling him an "elitist hypocrite" because he opposes officers in schools, while his children are protected by secret service in school.

Guess what NRA? One of the executive orders gives intensives to schools to hire more officers. Great...fucking...job.

-The first 7 executive orders are all about making information available for better background checks.

-The next one is about launching a campaign for gun safety and responsibility.

-The next is a review of locks and safes.

-The next two are require law enforcement to keep better track of guns involved in crimes. The next better trains officers, teachers and other personal what to do in emergency situations.

-Then there are a few on government research projects, basically what Biden has been doing going around and asking different industries for their input.

-Two more on making sure doctors and medical health personel know they can't get in trouble for asking and reporting on potentially dangerous people with guns in their homes.

-Then one giving incentives for schools to hire officers.

-Help churches and schools develop emergency response plans.

-THe rest have to do with mental health patients as well.

Now, Obama has also asked Congress to consider the following things:
1. Universal background checks
2. Ban of military grade assault riffles
3. Magazine cap on guns
4. Increasing the penalty on people who sell guns to people who can't have them.

Somebody please tell me what is so wrong, and Anti-American about those things?

It's Un-American because Cletus P. Coltrane thinks that it means Obama is a Nazi who is coming to take our guns because he's a Kenyan Marxist Communist Socialist Muslim. We know this for sure because Glenn Beck showed him how it worked on a chalk board. Cletus can't quite remember how Beck got to that conclusion but Beck talks to God and God wouldn't let that happen because God loves guns and wouldn't have invented them if he didn't want us to have them. Also, it's their second amendment right to have guns because the Constitution clearly states that every red blooded Republican American has the right to use ten rounds of ammunition to shoot a squirrel from 200 yards away, because shooting defenseless animals with a red dot on their heads from two football fields away is a "sport."

Who thought it was a good idea to circulate assault rifles (Of any grade, not just military. (The fact that there is such a thing as a non-military grade assault rifle baffles me. What the fuck else are you going to use an assault rifle for other than killing as many people as possible?)) in the first place? Would you need one for self defense in case a small army of Huns laid siege on your front lawn?

If I remember right, Bush and Chaney. Those kind of rifles were banned from civilian use for a long time until they decided to let the ban expire.

There are a lot of people with small penises in America.

I'm glad they got something done and all those things are wonderful but I really hope the ban on assault rifles goes through.

Out of curiosity why is there time limits on bills in the US? Especially ones that aren't requiring of them like say banning assault rifles?

Because for some reason in America, some people actually think things like that are bad ideas and that it's only a matter of time to change things.

There's not always time limits. The time limits, I would guess, are usually a way to pacify the opposition. "We'll try this for 10 years and then re-evaluate where we are at that time".

I just want to say that I applaud President Obama, Vice President Biden, and everyone who gave the Veep input for this task. I'm not holding my breath on Congress, but frankly, the gridlock and unwillingness to compromise isn't their sole territory. America needs to pull it's collective shit together.

They actually decided on something? Shocking.
Many years ago.

With an Executive order, he may not need to worry about Congress. Those orders have come under a lot fire in the past for allowing the President to abuse his power.
Have you actually read the orders? Nothing in these orders is abusing his power.

Either this is a joke, or you're one of THOSE people. Which is it?

You didn't, you just left the implication hanging.
Not really. I just pointed out a common criticism of executive orders. It wouldn't be out of the ordinary for Republicans to feel that way. Most of all when it comes to the 2nd amendment.
