I like Married...With Children because I think a lot of families can relate to it. Every town,city,state,country,continent,planet or wherever else knows a family like the Bundy's. They have their own blue collar version of comedy and it works. While Scrubs is funny in it's own way, not as many people can relate to it because of the fact of just about everyone on the show being a doctor of sorts.
I voted for Married With Children against one of my favorite shows of all time in the last round, so of course I'm going to vote for them here, against a show I never watched, outside of a few clips.
I've already gone over a few times throughout this tournament how much love I have for Married with Children, so there's not much I can add. I'll just say out of the little I've seen from Scrubs, I would put my life on it that there's not a character (to me) who's nearly as funny as Al Bundy, as hot as Kelly Bundy, and as fucking cool as Bud Bundy. No way, which is ultimately why Married with Children should win here.

I never got into Scrubs, so my vote is blind to that series. Hell, I'd probably like it. I like stuff like Sports Night and Studio 60.

Scrubs has taken part in something other shows have failed at doing. It helped to resurrect the American sitcom during an era when it seemed that nobody could get people's eyes off of the mind-numbing drivel of realtiy TV. Along with "How I Met Your Mother," "Two and a Half Men," and a few others, the mainstream sitcom seems to have gotten a shot in the arm, and approaching a potential 10 seasons (depending on how the current incarnation is received), Scrubs has been right there at the forefront.
Married with Children was a terrific sitcom that flourished in an era where sitcoms were popular and long before reality TV stepped up to challenge. But Scrubs was always fresh and new, whereas MWC seemed to recycle the same - granted funny - jokes over and over. Sometimes that works. But here, it just helps solidify my backing of Scrubs.

This is probably the hardest decision I have had to make during this tournament but it is still a bit of a mute point. I said from the outset that I was backing Married With Children then whole way and that is not going to change now.
I like Scrubs a lot but I love MWC. I remember watching it as a kid late at night with the volume really low because my parents frowned upon it and I still go out of my way to watch it at 3 in the morning, but with the volume turned up now. It really played an important part in my life and has influenced some of the way I am in my personal life. Not that I am dysfunctional or anything but I do tend to put my hand down my pants when I am zoning out and watching television.

Married With Children is one of the worst shows I have ever seen, it is horriable overrated and nothing more than poor writing and the same stupid, tired ass jokes being recycled over and over, Scrubs on the other hand is smart witty, and dare I say entertaining, Scubs does something MWC fails, and fails hard at doing it makes you care about the fucking characters, something that a sitcom is suppose to do, when you watch Scrubs you want to see what's happening in JD, Elliot, Turk, Carla, Dr. Cox, etc. life, as you laugh and enjoy yourself, MWC doesn't do that, no one gives a fuck about Al, Bud, or any of the poorly developed characters that shit show has produced

Last round I backed Scrubs against a show I never really liked (HIMYM), and and show I though was inferior (Philadelpiha), and South Park narrowly lost to MWC by one vote.
This is a tough match to call, had South Park won, the match decision would have been cut and dry, and I find MWC and Scrubs to be roughly of the same entertainment caliber. Both shows take full advantage of reality based comedy, and the plot of both shows seem to focus around the personalities of the characters, rather than just the plot of a particular episode.
I've decided to back Scrubs for another round. The reason being is that the show has a much deeper meaning that goes beyond that of what a simple archtype comedy in MWC would. That deeper meaning is the drama that feuls the show, making it more than just joke after joke about the same things. Each new episode the characters in Scrubs seem to have fresh new material, while the same themes and jokes continuesly fuel the comedy of MWC.

Looks like I tied it up here. Married...With Children got my vote. But Scrubs is a formidable opponent. It basically was a toss of a coin here. I just think MWC is funnier, and was more relevant to me than Scrubs was. Although I really love Scrubs. Looking forward to either one in the finals against The Simpsons though.
How the fuck is Scrubs in this thing? That show is fucking mediocre, at best. It loses it's audience every year, got kicked off it's original TV network, prominently features Sarah Chalke who is a TERRIBLE actress, and is just generally unfunny.
Married with Children, on the other hand, is fucking amazing. Great characters that you DO care about, despite what Justin said, hilarious comedy, and along with the Simpsons, is the only reason Fox TV Network is around today.

Married With Children could possibly be one of the most innovative sitcoms of the last 20 years.

Sorry, man, but you're going to need to give me some proof for the statement I bolded. From what I understand, no one really gave a shit about Scrubs until Zach Braff made Garden State; hell, it's a FACT that it got no major Emmy love until this film came out.
While I'll agree with you that sitcoms were in a moribund state from the late 90s until the early 00s, we must attribute this genre's rebirth not to Scrubs, but to shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Arrested Development.
The fact of the matter is this: Scrubs has been around for so long because, for lack of better words, it's been renewed each year by the skin of its teeth. In this respect, t's just like Yes, Dear and 'Til Death, except it has no laugh track and deals with young, attractive thirtysomethings instead of middle-aged people or thirtysomethings that act like they're middle-aged. Just like Slyfox696 said, this show shouldn't even be in the final.
MWC was depressing, low brow bullshit for lazy people. Scrubs encompasses everything a show should be and labelling it a sitcom is cheap and not giving full credit. I was voting Scrubs to win the entire thing but seeing as that's not going to happen now, I'm voting Fuck MWC, regardless of who it faces next.
LOL at Scrubs. Does anyone care about this show. I tend to think not, considering NBC thought so highly of it they simply let it go to ABC. Scrubs was nothign more then the funny version of ER, a show set to cash in on the over abundance of Hospital shows on TV. People love Hospital Drama, so naturally, lets make a show to satirize that genre, Right.

I voted for Scrubs, seen both series for quite a while, don't get to see Married... with children that much anylonger all thou because they rarely ever air it in denmark, but i get to see Scrubs everday, and I simply must say I find Scrubs so much more entertaining because of its different sides of humour, some odd, some sexual, and the best part of it, the kind of humour dr. cox gives away.. the serious kind of humour

The way I look at it is this. Scrubs is a show that's good to watch every once in awhile. However, I mainly watch the show for Dr. Cox, Dr. Kelso, the Janitor, and to look at Sarah Chalke. The rest of the show is a big "meh" for me. The editing of the show sometimes makes it hard to watch. JD is also a very unlikable character. Turk isn't much better, and Carla is a bitch. It doesn't help that JD is supposed to be smart enough to be a doctor, and he's a complete moron. I mean, if the show was so good, why was Zack Braff trying to leave the last three seasons to make more shitty movies? I've tried watching a few episodes of the new Scrubs, and it's really bad. It looks like ABC agrees, because the show is on the brink of cancellation.
Married With Children on the other hand, as far as I'm concerned, is a show that helped revolutionize television as we know it today. They took the traditional sitcom about a family and turned it upside its head. Remember, this followed in the footsteps of shows like the Brady Bunch, the Partridge Family, and the Cosby Show. Each show was very vanilla in how it approached family life. Everything was perfect, everyone was happy, and everyone had no problems at all. Everything worked out in the end. Those shows may be classics, but they are a poor representation of how family life is for a middle class family. Married With Children not only broke every rule of a "family comedy", but it was at one point, the edgiest show on television. The show always pushed the envelope. The characters were nothing like people had ever seen on television.
Al, the patriarch of the family, was a failure. He wasn't a doctor or a successful architect, he was a shoe salesman who peaked in high school. He's not happily married, he's miserable. Family life led him to resign himself to a life of mediocrity, and his negativity towards life was one of the driving forces of why the show was so funny.
Peggy was nothing like Carol Brady. She was lazy and she is only interested in spending money that the family doesn't have and having sex with Al, which mortified him.
Kelly was a daughter that was a complete airhead and a ****e. Her stupidity was also a driving force of what made the show so great.
Bud, despite being the smartest member of the family, was also a complete horndog and repulsive to women. Some of the best moments of the series revolved on how things always went horribly wrong for him.
Buck's (the dog) inner monologues often brought the show together, insightfully ripping on the family every chance he got.
The storylines for the episodes were often unchartered territory. It was a show that was not afraid to shock the viewers. Today, it would seem tame or normal for a television show, but this was in the early 90s. The fact that Married With Children always dared to go to the next level shaped television as we know it.
Twenty years from now, what is going to be more fondly remembered? A show like Married With Children, or a forgettable show like Scrubs which didn't do too much to shape television history?

I got to vote for MWC. To me, the show was something that was the backwards version of something you expected from the title. Al Bundy is just perfect in the role of "miserable husband with 2 kids." And in the later seasons, the addition of Ted McGinley made it better than it was, though some might disagree with me.
Scrubs is funny, its got its dramatic elements, and like IC said (and I agree) that it helped the revival of Sitcoms. BUT, MWC is just better in that it's straight up sitcom that went against the grain of sitcoms of the past.

MWC for me. When it came out it broke the mold. TV sitcoms at the time were all about the happy families. It came out during a era when political correctness was really ramping up and somehow not only survived but was really successfull. For me Al Bundy is the greatest tv character ever bar none, i've tried soo hard to emulate him in real life (bar the ladies shoe salesman job)
Scrubs is good for a laugh but always tries to drive home some sort of deep drama issue every episode. For me the janitor is the only reason to watch. Also i just wanna smack zach braff in the face every time i see him.
