Not impressed with Big E Langston

^Can anyone name a bad Big E Langston match because I can't all of his matches are at least satisfying and with the limited ring time he gets I enjoyed his 6 man tag team match with Cena and Punk along with their backstage segment and his US title match against Ambrose are two off the top.

I like his character and fast-paced in-ring work but despise his stupid looking wedgie singlet. He really should go back to the old one, the one he debuted with and also get knee pads again. I know it's Pro Wrestling but doesn't mean it has to be borderline R rated content just because of the ring attire.

Who was Langston teaming with in those six man tags? Oh yeah, John Cena and CM Punk, the two biggest names in the company who can make almost anyone look good. I'm talking about singles matches or matches Langston has had to carry and I can not think of any. The United States Championship match was average, nothing more.
You want a bad match of Langston's? Look no further than RAW this week when he versed Curtis Axel. A dull, boring match that was filler and didn't help either guy at all.

I like Langston, he's got a good image, very energetic, athletic, lot of potential and room for growth and improvement. But I really cannot find any evidence to the contrary as regards to his promo skills.

Consider the following... (skip to approx 1.10)

Now, the 5 gimmick in NXT was perfect since all it required was looking intense and shouting "FIVE! FIVE! FIVE!" repeatedly, but this all boiled down to his size and strength getting him over coupled with a simple cheer-leading catchphrase (cf. Ryback, 2012), but talking about your fingers and toes? Good grief. I see a future in him, but he's going to need some serious coaching to bring his online personality into his onscreen character.

They need to incorporate that into his character now. Big E doesn't have a catchphrase and it seems like the crowd is pretty quiet when he comes to the ring or unless I'm wrong his music must be very loud that the crowd noise doesn't translate well over the TV.

When Big E was working with Mark Henry they both had more potential. If the WWE emphasized some sort of weight lifting angle with the both of them. IE Mark Henry's Olympic Weightlifting Background, and Big E's Powerlifting Background, you could see the two of them get a bigger push with the crowd and a more solid gimmick. The two of them would make a good upper midcard tag team, and Big E could still hold the IC title. Promos with them in the gym may feed this end.

I don't know why this and the "Big E/Ezekiel Jackson" thread are two separate threads when they're basically talking about the exact same thing, yet two threads about two separate diva storylines get merged into one... but whatever, here it goes.

I personally only bother paying full attention to Raw when Big E, Roman Reigns, The Rhodes, and the divas are on tv now. I never saw Big E in NXT, except for when he lost the title to Bo Dallas so I'm not going to lie and say "His five count was legendary"... hell, I didn't even say that about Punk when he came to WWE. It was great, but I knew Punk could do better if given the chance. Big E, I believe, has potential in him that Ryback, Wade Barrett, nor Ezekiel never had.

For starters, the guy is built like a powerhouse and wrestles just like it... But just like with Reigns, the guy can run like a cruiserweight. To me, that's something that just shouldn't be done by mankind. And when it is done, it's scary to me. He is literally the army tank with the Ferrari engine... or maybe a jet engine.

Second, he's not limited the same way Ryback is limited. He can actually work a crowd with his ring psychology, and his matches lately have proven that to me. He's been able to get the crowd on his side simply by going after heels and saving others from a beat down.

Finally, and this one may get a little touchy but idgaf, he's probably going to be the first 100% Black WWE champion. And it's about time. Big E has just as much charisma in the ring as Cena has, and the crowd loves him. He loves the fans, and honestly has a blast being in WWE. Not to mention, if WWE would give him some merchandise to sell, then I'm more than sure that he would get the ball rolling.

I disagree w/ this thread and the OP....been a fan of wrestling since 1979 an one thing i've come to realize and accept is that you really never know who is gonna be a star. Look at Daniel Bryan he isnt great on the mic and looks like an idiot yet for some reason ppl chant everytime he pops up on the screen. This is the indie American Dragon, his beard looks ridiculous, he's a midget and i dont see anything great about any of his WWE matches yet fans love him. While I personally find absolutely nothing interesting about him at all and im sure management for the most part fills the same way. The one problem facing Big E and basically everybody on the roster not named Cena, Orton or Punk is that they have to find something interesting for him to do. Beating Curtis Axel every week isnt gonna boost his profile neither will beating a talentless Ryback who's profile is on the way down.

I mean really with 2 big guys coming back like Brock and Batista why not have the new young resident powerhouse challenge them to prove its his time now....would that not be more interesting then say Batista vs Del Rio? Instead of having Brock kill Mark Henry why not let Big E do it after being his pupil for 3-4 months would that not be impressive?

I dont have a problem with Big E or any young guy on the roster, i have more of a problem w/ what they are given in terms of storyline. Its sports entertainment, give them something "entertaining" to do and nowadays tha could make them as big of a star as being able to put on 5 star matches would.

Everybody is gonna have different taste and things that appeal and you never know what 1 little match or incident is gonna put someone on the map, give him something that is slighty interesting and see what happens...

Hey guys I'm here to share my opinion on the current Intercontinental Champion, Big E Langston. As the title says, I'm not impressed with the guy. He just sucks. Let's start with his look, he's too big and not tall enough. Really can't take him seriously. Then there are his nonexistent mic skills. Sure he's a big guy and he doesn't need to talk much because he lets his actions in the ring talk for him. But he's still god awful on the mic. He sounds kinda ******ed.

What the hell was that? Look at AJ and Ziggler's reaction, even they were upset at him. He could never cut an epic promo like the one Ryback cut on the top of an ambulance.
He has no character. He's just a powerhouse who squashes random heels week after week and that's it. At least Ryback was doing some impressive shit as a babyface like picking up two guys for the Shell Shocked. Oh yeah speaking of Shell Shocked, what is Big E's finisher? The Big Ending aka the second worst finisher in WWE after Ziggler's Zig-Zag. Just t-e-r-r-i-b-l-e. If you think about it, there's absolutely no reason to support this guy. I really hope WWE gave him the IC title as a test to see if he has what it takes to be a decent babyface. It would be perfect if he dropped the title to Ryback (who actually deserves it, he busted his ass for 8 years to get to the WWE. He wasn't someone's "workout buddy"), faded into obscurity and Ryback turned face again. That's what would be best for business. They should stop shoving Big E Langston down our throats. Just take the title off him and send him back to NXT.

I thinks its hilarious that you are so into how bad Big E's mic skills are yet your profile pic is Cody Rhodes.

Who cares if Ryback worked 8 years to get in the wwe? The Rock didnt work 8 years, Orton didnt work 8 years, Cena didnt work 8 years. Should we put Ryback over those three guys as well? Ryback was given a shot and he failed, now they are giving Big E the same shot. I really dont see what the problem is here.
