NorCal answers Wrestling (and all other) questions!

1. Bret Hart
2. Triple H
3. Mick Foley
4. Rey Mysterio

Nice.

My opinion of Triple H fluctuates wildly. On the one hand, he had the best streak of matches and feuds maybe ever in 2000, and there's his putting over of Daniel Bryan and The Shield to the nth degree, and his constant waving of the NXT flag. On the other, there's shit like him beating Sting at WrestleMania, him beating Punk at Night of Champions, and his whole horrid feud with Lesnar, all of which still give me nightmares.

The other three would definitely be permanent fixtures in my top five.

Why didn't the US military bomb the hell out of Hanoi much earlier than the half-assed Operation Linebacker II near the end of the Vietnam war?

My Dad was a Navy Seal in 'Nam and said the guys over there were waiting for that offensive and couldn't believe the brass was holding off.

Do you think it would have damaged North Vietnam's ability to make war? Or were we too worried about reprisals from Russia?

The US felt as if peace could be at hand diplomatically. I 110% understand the perspective of those on the ground, but any responsible governing body is going to try their best to take the route of the least total casualties in resolving a conflict. It was originally anticipated that the legislation would be done over a ten day span, but The South did not like the terms that were brought, they had to be revised, and then the North didn't like the revisions, etc etc etc.

It ended up stretching out the diplomatic process MUCH longer than what was expected, and ended up proving fruitless overall.

Which pretty much sums up Vietnam in general.

If we are going for unbiased opinion then yea, probably.

Personally, obviously I have other favorites, IE the crusades and Alexander's exploits.

How's it going in general?

Pretty much dominating life.

Big house, great family

going to my best buds wedding back home in a few weeks. I was supposed to be in the wedding, but the outfits they picked from the groomsmen are from a store whose sizes run notoriously small, and I currently weigh 250 pounds with an 18.5 inch neck. So, uh, that ain't happening :lmao:

No, I haven't gotten fat, in case any were wondering that about the above.

Got impeccable tickets to NXT Takeover in Brooklyn, that is going to be a fucking smashing time.

the podcast continues to grow in popularity and in quality

Football is back in a few weeks!

Acting up on all levels.

There is Richard Burton's Alexander from the mid fifties.

Thinking of older films about historical people, it's hard to look past the Errol Flynn version of Robin Hood (the adventures of). To quote Clarence ****ley talking about Coming Home in a Bodybag, "Now that was a fucking movie."

If anyone gets that reference without Google/IMDb then they'll get repped.

As a fellow lover of history, do you have any historical or history inspired pieces?

Funny you say, my left arm is basically a sleeve of historical based pieces.

The medievil coat of arms of the family name

a depiction of the calvary / Constantine's famous battle

an incsription from Arthurian Legend

and will soon be getting a set of runes/the dragons head in a sort of medallion and necklace design on my chest and shoulders
