Given some of the shenanigans that went on with these two last week, I was expecting this match to happen.

Ryback's been IC champ for 107 days, though he spent close to a month on the shelf recovering from a Staph Infection. Owens has been on the main roster since the summer, started out blazing hot in a high profile feud with John Cena that resulted in some classic bouts, has fizzled some since coming back down from on High against Cena to feud with mere mortals and still has a lot of people interested in where he goes.

On one hand, Ryback has been a good champion considering that the setbacks with the Staph Infection and fairly uninteresting feuds with Miz & Big Show. Because of these, I'm sure some of the more impatient fans think this is a good chance to get the title off Ryback. At the same time, I can also see the side of the argument that Ryback still has a lot to offer as champ now that he's moving on from relatively dead end programs with Show & Miz.

As for Kevin Owens, Owens is most definitely an "internet darling" due to his success on the indie scene, particularly in Ring of Honor. Again, some of the more impatient fans are of the idea that Owens is floundering since he doesn't have a title yet, despite only being on the main roster for about 4 months now, and....*gasp...sob*.... has tapped out to John Cena.

If I had to guess who has the most interest among fans as a whole, I'd say Owens has a significant advantage as he's still riding the wave of the notoriety of his feud with Cena and the fact that he cleanly pinned Cena in his very first match on the main roster. To be fair though, Ryback hasn't gotten the "Goldberg...Goldberg" chants for a quite a while and, surprisingly, smark heavy audiences have been pretty supportive of him rather than eating him alive.

I could see Ryback retaining in order to simply further himself along the way as a strong IC champ. I could also see Owens winning the title in what might well be an eventual rekindling of his feud with Cena with both mid-card titles involved.

Cool. Like Owens, like Ryback. I don't want to see the title taken off the big guy but I don't want to see Owens lose.

This nothing match has my curiosity significantly more than anything else on the card.

That promo though. Man. Some goofy stuff. From that terrible Elvis pun to "The master of feed me more."

Hopeing for a good match. And probably 2 rematches after.

Kevin Owens will either get himself disqualified or he will walk out with the title. Both of those scenarios will keep the feud going. As most of us know, the babyface is better when he is chasing the title. I also wouldn't mind seeing Cesaro get involved.

Basically how I feel. I like Owens and I like Ryback. So I'm really curious in seeing this match. If Ryback hadn't just come back from an injury I would have liked to have seen Ryback come out with the win and afterwards have Owens powerbomb him on the apron. Have Owens take the IC title (maybe even "defend it" a few times) until Ryback comes back from injury. Now I don't know how they might build a real feud between these two but Im curious to see what these two can do together.

I like them both, this could make for a great feud and 3 good matches.
1. Ryback wins at NOC by D.Q.
2. Kevin gets another chance in the cage at HIAC and he defeats Ryback.
3. Ryback gets his rematch and loses at Survivor Series.
Kevin can have some good feuds and Title defenses against guys like Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler.
Ryback can go for the U.S. Title against guys like Rusev and a heel turning Roman Reigns, this can all start when John Cena loses the U.S. Title to Roman.

my hope is that either Kevin Owens wins the title here or that the match ends in some type of double count out that leads to a big rematch between the two. i just want the feud to end with Kevin Owens winning the IC title. i wanted him to win the US title really badly, but since that didnt happen, the IC Title will be a good fallback championship.

I got Kevin Owens for this one. It sucks Ryback's health costs us for seeing what he could have did over the past few months as IC champ. However, Ryback in chase mode for the IC title might be a blessing in disguise.

Just when we, the IWC were praising the improvement that Ryback had made in the ring and in the mic, he had turned into an underwhelming face when he grabs the mic. I don't understand why WWE creative are making the same mistake over and over again. They just are making the big monsters look like a joke by giving them the mic. They did it with Roman Reigns in the beginning but when they realized their mistake it was too late.

Lately they have been doing the same with Ryback. One should agree that his promo before his brief feud with Mark Henry was really good but recently his promos are awful! But that shouldn't be the only criteria that should benchmark his ability as a Champion. Comparatively, Kevin Owens is way better that Ryaback but they both should accumulate a feud before Ryback should drop the title to Kevin Owens.

Night of Champions should be just a beginning of their feud, which can be potentially solid if WWE creative make Ryback shut his mouth and do his works in the ring instead.

Cheers!!

This feud has a lot of potential. You can have Owens say that Ryback thinks he's John Cena Superman 2.0, but he knows the truth. He was facetiming w/his wife the other day and saw that she ordered a Ryback shirt for his son. He told her that Ryback is a bigger fraud than John Cena and about as half as entertaining. Then, he says he's going to prove to the world and to his son that KO is BETTER than Ryback when he takes his precious IC title. A title that Ryback only got an opportunity to win because DB got hurt. They should have some sort of controversial finish where Ryback knocks out the ref going for the shellshock, but KO reverses into the PUPB. A 2nd ref comes down and counts three, but the first ref says that KO wins by DQ. On the next Raw KO comes out and says how the ref saved Ryback. That he won the match and deserves a re-match at HIAC. At the HIAC PPV have both men pin eachother in another strange finish. Since Ryback is the Champ he retains. At Survivor Series have them compete on opposite teams and both men take each other out of action. At TLC Ryback goes for the meathook KO ducks and throws Ryback into a table. KO sets up for the bowling ball move Ryback moves at the last second and KO goes through the table. KO wins the IC title at the RR PPV when Ryback goes for the Rollup, but KO reveses it and uses the ropes as leverage.

I don't want to see this feud being wasted at Night Of Champions. I hope that Ryback somehow retains while Kevin Owens remains as strong as he can for the rematch. This two would be fun to watch in a No Disqualification environment. Ryback has been a good champion and Owens has been just fucking awesome, so let them tear each other apart.

I will give Ryback the win by DQ or a double count-out just to heat things. This feud needs more time!

The Ryback loses this one, I think, to justify some rematches over the next months

I think that Kevin Owens has to start playing a little dirty, because the smarks are starting to cheer him and dislike him, and say that he's not getting a push correctly.
