I see, Wikipedia messing it up then, says he only played 1 match for Real Madrid, either way I'm not sure due to the fact that I don't get the Spanish league, all I really get is Champion's league, sometimes a German or English league match, and of course the Danish league.

I think you've got to give the champions the chance to defend the title. I don't see why there can't be a "champions spot", and their country gets an extra qualifier if they win it. That's what used to happen in the European Cup days.

However, UEFA would claim that no country deserves to have five teams in the 'Champions' League but if they go down that avenue of argument then it should only be the actual champions of each country plus the previous winner that enter the competition

I'm not being funny, but say Chelsea won the Champions League this season. That would mean that Manchester City would be in the Champions League next year. Would they be any worse than, say, Auxerre. Of course, Platini would prefer it if it was the Ligue 1 + Barcelona League.

I figured this was going to be a murder after Maldini scored in the first minute, and was pretty certain that my prediction was going to be correct when Crespo had his brace but when Liverpool came back (especially around the Smicer goal) I was really on the edge of my seat. Dudek pulled out some great saves (almost made me forget about the howlers he's let in) and the penalty win was pretty amazing. The only time I think I've ever pulled for Liverpool to win.
