Mysterio/Swagger legit?

This Sunday at Money in the Bank, Rey Mysterio will defend his World Title against Jack Swagger. You would think that because it's going to be the co-main event they would try to build it up as much as possible. I think they started to try because they made Swagger into a monster by having him hold the ankle lock on Rey and drag him around the arena. But they frickin' Kane got involved... Now, I like the Kane angle, but they could have used ANYBODY else to make this work. Instead they chose a guy who is in another feud, so now he has to juggle both things at once...but that's not the point.

So, Jack Swagger is getting the hell beaten out of him by Kane, and Rey Mysterio has an ankle that's been completely destroyed. Rey pulled this weak promo that saw him taunt vacating the championship, before taking it back and pledging victory with the help of his doctors, his trusty ankle brace, his pink mask, and his tears...He literally looked like he was about to cry by the end of that. So not only is the World Champion already at a size disadvantage, but he has a major injury...AND a pink mask (that's not a serious point). But at least Swagger is legit right? WRONG. Not only did the guy job during his title run, but he's been beaten up by Kane the whole time they've tried to push him. So what do they do to make him look strong...they bring daddy into the picture. Jack Swagger is supposed to be a top heel feuding for the title, and he brought in his daddy to talk about all the great things they've been doing together. Sure, it gives him an alibi, but couldn't he have been beating the hell out of somebody, or at least hanging out at the bar with Serena?

I'm done complaining about our small, whiny, injured champion and our scared contender with daddy issues...My question is this: What can WWE do at this point to legitimize Rey Mysterio or Jack Swagger. Swagger is early in his career, so there's plenty of time to turn his character into something good. But with Mysterio, is there just too much history of him being exactly the same to make him more of a real champion? So again, what could they do to make the two guys fighting for the World Title actually matter to professional wrestling?

Also, if you feel like they are legit and don't really need anything to make it better, feel free to say so as well.

Its too late now with the match on sunday. But wat they couldve done is made it a triple threat with Kane.

And Kane isnt in a fued right now. Well technically hes in a fued with Swagger. Since Punk had an alibi Punk couldnt be the attacker and so he moved on to swagger.

Also antoher way to legitimize this would hav been to put rey into a match with a jobber like chavo or maybe tyler rex who we havent seen for a while. This way its a quick match and proves he could still wrestle and on sunday he would be healthy enuf to beat swagger. Then Swaggers music hits and Rey gets away before anything could happen to him or his ankle

MITB. I believe Mysterio will retain, and the smackdown MITB winner will cash in that night, hopefully putting an end to this shameful rivalry, or at the very least add another person into it to hopefully make it halfway decent.

They can legitamize these 2 by giving them time to put on a show at MITB. These 2 are both really good athletes. I really see these 2 complimenting each other in a match. Hopefully, they won't end the match by having Kane attack Swagger. (You know, They should tweak the Kane storyline a little bit so that he wants to avenge the Undertaker by winning the WHC himself. Then, 'Taker can come back and reveal that Kane just wanted to get him out of the picture.) Anyways, I hope this Swagger-Mysterio program goes longer than just a "Rematch". All they need is a solid 15-20 mins to put on a great show.

Rey Mysterio to me remains a hard guy to legitimize because of his size. You would assume the fact that he's both world champion. as well as having overcome a lot of big guys, that he is already legit. And it's probably true. Rey just doesn't strike is as credible due to his size against a guy like Big Show, Swagger etc.

The one that truly needs to be legitimized would be Swagger. And it can be done rather easily as well. There's no need to do it through Rey Mysterio only. Rey is a good choice though if they put on a great performance at Money in the Bank.

But it won't be enough. Jack needs to be build more than a great match with a great victory. Because we've seen that before - Edge vs Jericho vs Jack Swagger.

Jack needs to dominate. He needs to put people down. And do it with obviousness so that it doesn't seem like either a fluke victory, or a lucky victory. It needs to be a clean victory that is completely obvious who was the superior man.

And it's not even that hard. Jack just needs to be build like a strong opponent. He needs to be booked like a true champion who overcomes the opponents. Not overcoming the odds. But the opponents no matter what.

Rey Mysterio is already "legit" isn't he? He is a two time world champion and on top of that has been in some of SmackDown's more big time matches over the past few years. he knows what it's like to challenge for the title, he's been in Swagger's position many times. And Mysterio definitely knows how it feels to blow your opportunity. Mysterio is a main event talent, an established name. He is legit. Swagger injured his opponent to make his upcoming match with Rey to be a walkthrough so he can easily win back his title without the chance of losing.

Swagger is being built up just fine in my opinion. The first time he used the anklelock was to cripple The Big Show. Then he used it two weeks in a row on Rey Mysterio the man who he will challenge at MITB. And kayfabe wise, he badly injured Mysterio's ankle. Kane is just being Kane. He attacked Punk for a few weeks, then he figured out Punk was innocent, now he is targeting Jack Swagger and will do so until he goes off on his merry way to terrorize someone else. I don't like this idea as i'm sure it will lead to some sort of Kane interference this Sunday during their match, but it is what it is and this is the road the WWE is taking with Kane's angle.

As Ferbian said, it's hard to legitimize Rey as a world heavyweight champion, and that's mainly because of his size. The injury angle really doesn't surprise me because if Rey wins the match, then he'll be looked at as the heroic feel good story. He'll be seen as the guy who overcame the odds, and was able triumph over the big bully that is Jack Swagger. If he loses, then he'll have the ankle injury as an excuse. So either way, things will work out for Rey kayfabe wise. Rey's last reign as world champion was just not that memorable. Sure his win at Wrestlemania 22 was a feel good moment, but overall, his brief run with the belt wasn't that impressive.

I actually like what WWE is doing with Swagger right now. They're making him out to be a beast. His attacks on Big Show and Swagger were done well, and he's looking like a force at the moment.

I don't see Swagger VS Mysterio going on any longer. I don't see Jack winning the belt at MITB, and I find it hard to beleive that The All-American American will get another rematch. Rey will probably lose his title to who ever wins MITB, and The Undertaker is set to return to soon, and you just know the Deadman will be put back into the world title picture after he's done feuding with his attacker. I think MITB will be the end of the line for the Swagger VS Mysterio feud, so we won't have to worry about this anymore.

I agree with people saying Rey's size is always going to be a problem, personally I think he is great as an IC champ but heavyweight should be just that however he brings in alot of $$$ to wwe from his espanic fanbase and that is all wwe care about it is a business at the end of the day, so until wwe can get another espanic wrestler over to take Rey's place i think they will always have a place for him as a main eventer.

I really like what swagger is doing at the moment and think it is making him legit. Okay he isn't getting 'wins' but he is single handedly beating the WHC and the big show, I think all it will take is a little more time and some improved mic skills and he will be a legit main event heel.

I can see Kanes invovlement turning into Rey being revealed as undertakers attacker, I HATE this idea but I think they will use it to give Rey the legitamacy he badly needs. But would anyone believe it?! I think Rey would have to have used a weapon the thing that comes to mind is that rey runs him over but that has been done sooooo many times.
Another thing is would wwe make such a money maker like Rey into a heel?!

tbh i don't think it can be "legit" mystero wont drop the title after a month and has an ankle he can "barely walk on" yet he will some how pull it out of his ass and win this sunday sadly.. if he does drop the title it will be because who ever won the MITB match will cash it in as soon as their match is over when rey is hurting.. other then that i think this feud should end if a hurt mystero can stop swagger after what hes done to both rey and big show in the past few weeks

I hope this is the end of it after tomorrow night. This feud was done not long after it started. Swagger can still be turned in the right direction. As for Mysterio, this has been his bread and butter for far too long. A match against a jobber would've helped Rey out a bit. That b.s promo killed any hope of being the champion much longer. If he walks out of MITB champion, I'll be shocked. I'm hoping the MITB winner lays Rey out and puts an end to this thing.

i think swagger with his new persona is giving him more credibility and its giving him a rightful place in the main event, i can tell you know that im 100% sure that the raw money in the bank winner (randy, or edge) will cash in on rey after the main event.

Well its too late now since the match is tomorrow but it would have made more sense to make it a triple threat with Kane also involved the only reason I can think why they didnt do that is because Kane is gonna win MITB (although I hope not) it looks like this fued is gonna happen anyway as it is the advertised Main Event for the australian house shows which are on in 2 weeks.
