MMA in the Bar room!! *In memorium of JMT and TDigs' thread*

It went how I figured it would go. Even if he is 90% cranium Tito is a big 205er and it has never been Chael's best weight. Neither have the striking to threaten the other standing so it would come down to who is more susceptible to giving up position and that is Sonnen all day. Not to mention being "basically clean" didn't do The American Gangster any favors.

I'll believe it's happening once DC gets in the Octagon.

Browne/Lewis has been removed from the 208 card, & moved to a Fight Night card, also Browne has finally left Edmond.

They've been booking some awful main events lately and I don't mean giving the women top billing on Fox cards which has actually shown to draw some good numbers. Shit like Penn vs Rodriguez, Dos Santos vs Struve and I know Browne vs Lewis is a last minute replacement and a decent fight itself but as a main event it's not great. WME-IMG are rumored to be looking at scaling back PPVs and stack free cards which I'm all for and it makes sense when they have Conor and....well that's about it in terms of reliable PPV draws.

I think that she should be back for one more match, atleast. And with a better coach.

If she loses in that too, I'm okay with her retiring. Now, I ain't.

Valentina Shevchenko vs. Nunes is going to be a wild fight.

Dana promising McGregor an "epic fall" if McGregor wants to go down the "fuck UFC" road.

Highlight of the night was seeing Caceres get choked out. I can't stand that guy. how does he still have a job in the UFC?

Probably saw Nate The Great's last fight as well.

I missed last nights main card fights, I thought I recorded them but only got the prelims. Thought it was starting the same time as the UFC main cards usually start, but they started them an hour earlier. They need to stop fucking with the start times for these Fight Night cards.

I will happily pay for any fight Conor has in the Octagon, but if he steps in a boxing ring for this bullshit circus sideshow nonsense of a fucking fight with Floyd, yeah, not dropping a penny for that shit. Defend a fucking title dammit!

Judging by the way Shevchenko figured Nunes out in the third round of their fight and how she looked last night against a stronger takedown threat than Amanda is I think she takes that rematch. That could just be me marking out for a belly-down Fedor style armbar.

The different start times for cards will always be wonky because of card length and location and whether or not there's a title fight on it. That doesn't bother me as much as the eternity in between fights, the pacing of the Fox and FS1 cards are a real chore. Fight Pass cards are the opposite and fly by, unfortunately the VP of Fight Pass just resigned and he was a huge part in building the app and making sure it gets good exclusive events like Bisping vs Silva.

You would think if WME really wanted to make their $4 billion back they'd try & push more exclusive Fight Pass content.

There's talk that their long term plan will be to scale back on PPVs and rely more on ad revenue with a new TV deal fast approaching so one would think there would be an emphasis put on growing Fight Pass. That's pretty similar to how the network and a shit ton of programming is how the WWE is making most of their money right now. Early last year and a bit before that they were trying to build value into FP with pretty good exclusive events and dope FP prelim headliners like Poirier vs Duffy but after 200 I feel like they have abandoned that a bit. It's gone back to the FP portion of the prelims being headlined by Who Dat vs Who Gives A Fuck, at least in terms of ranked fighters with some name value.

I didn't watch last night but I've heard the officiating & judges were shit, specifically in the Silva/Brunson & Holm/De Ramdamie fights.

The next two PPV cards are shaping up nicely though, I'll be watching both those, the next couple FOX, & FS1 cards look decent as well.

I'd rather he go on a tour of stars instead of fighting for the title. His best days are clearly past him.

With Nunes demolishing Ronda in 48 seconds, & Conor taking time off I think UFC was desperate for another huge star that could draw big PPV numbers. I don't think GSP is as big of a draw still as they think he is. I do think he should get a co-main with another top contender before getting a title shot.

GSP is fighting for the belt.

They spent 4 billion to buy the UFC. They need big money fights. GSP for the belt is huge. We live in a post sale world right now. It's a whole different level of need for big fights compared to before the sale.
