MMA in the Bar room!! *In memorium of JMT and TDigs' thread*

Maybe Ronda should've listened to her mom & pretty much everyone else with a fucking brain & got the fuck away from Edmond & surrounded her self with competent coaches, or just called it a career after Holly squashed her.

Bloody Elbow wrote out the transcript of the audio from her corner as the fight was happening.

This guy has no clue what he is doing.

And to really understand the "NOOOO!" at the end you have to hear to audio clip floating around. It's funny as fuck hearing him screaming "NO" over and over again.

Tarverdyan: Make her miss, miss, miss!

Tarverdyan: Ronda, make her miss!

Second cornerman: Be patient. Pick your moments

Fight starts.

Tarverdyan: Head movement! Head movement! Head movement! Head movement! Head movement! Head movement! Head movement!

Tarverdyan: Yes, move!

Rousey is already taking a few punches at this point, unable to properly defend. She continues to take damage as the following takes place.

Tarverdyan: Hands up! Hands up! Hands up! Catch her! Clinch!

Second cornerman: Get to the head!

Rousey is unable to get the clinch, starts taking worse damage as Nunes lands some power shots.

Tarverdyan: Head movement! Good job! Jab!

Rousey is unable to establish the jab or fight back. She takes a defensive position with a high guard on her left side as she continues to take more punishment.

Tarverdyan: Move, move! Come on, please!

Rousey starts to move to her left as more shots keep coming.

Tarverdyan: Move, move, move! Clinch, clinch, clinch, clinch, clinch, clinch!!

Nunes finishes Rousey, makes the shushing sign as she walks triumphantly around the cage.

Tarverdyan: NO! NOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOOOO!! NOOO!! NOOO!! NO! NO!!

Nunes makes her way to Tarverdyan and says a few things before popping her head out of the cage to say a few more bon mots. Edmond remains quiet during this part.

Tarverdyan: (as Amanda walks away) Move, (unintelligible)... move! Fuck!

She was already taking retirement, & once you start talking retirement & have one foot out the door, you're pretty much done. If, and that's a big if, she does comeback for another fight, she better surround herself with a much better team, maybe a coach that allows to throw a kick or two even.

Not everyone will return if they're in her place. Only a few will. I would like to know if she's one of those.

Edmond should just leave training fighters.

That Garbrandt/Cruz fight actually shocked me. It almost shocked me more than the main event did. I was convinced that Cruz was going to dominate Cody and move on to Dillashaw (which would have been awesome) but Garbrandt definitely proved his worth last night. Impressive, especially throughout the championship rounds. I'm boarding the hype train.

As for Rousey/Nunez, good. Nunez proved that there is more to the UFC Women's division than Ronda Rousey. Maybe now people can finally move on and give the rest of the girls the respect and spotlight they deserve.

I doubt she returns. I was absolutely shocked she came back for THIS one, and she got fucking destroyed even worse than the last time she got fucking destroyed.

It's amazing what Garbrandt did last night. This guy at 25 years old with just 10 fights went out and beat the greatest bantamweight MMA fighter of all time. Not only did he beat him but Garbrandt made it look easy, taunted him the entire fight and got a 10-8 round when he knocked Cruz down like 4 times in a single round.

I wasn't buying the hype around Cody at all during the build. I thought Cruz would take him to school and that Cody would get all emotional after how he acted at the weigh in and the interviews throughout the promotion of this fight. He didn't. He was on point and I was shocked. It's just like the Holm fight and even the Nunes fight to a lesser extent. Cody has been training to beat Cruz his entire career. Holm was trained to beat Rousey from day one and Team Alpha Male have made Garbrandt for the sole purpose of defeating Cruz. It's awfully hard to overcome that when you're the hunted. Major props to Cody, definitely on the hype train now.

Man, this thread is still active? Sheesh.

Rousey was exposed. Exposed with weak stand-up, exposed with a shitty camp, and exposed to really not care about fighting all that much. Don't even get me started on that fraud she calls a coach. The build up to this fight is very reminiscent of Connor's fights, and really portrayed what I absolutey hate about the UFC right now. The hypocrisy they show regarding Rhonda and Connor is fucking disgusting, and it has really soured me on the UFC lately. Especially with how they fucked over my boy Aldo.

JMT will also be glad, yet surprised to hear about how I am staunchly a Diaz bros supporter. My two favorite fighters and personalities in the sport right now.

Overall, a good card. Cruz losing sucks because I respect the fuck outta that man, but it happens. He'll be back, and i'm excited to see Cody vs TJ. All in all, a wonderful year for MMA, and a damn good way to send the year off. Can't wait for 2017

Wonderboy gets Woodley again at UFC 209. Yay.

So does Nurmagomedov meet Ferguson in the co main event. For interim title.

Anderson Silva is supposed to fight again at 208 against Derick Brunson. I remember when Brunson beat the snot out of Uriah Hall a while back. I could see Silva getting put on his ass and hanging them up for good.

I've never liked Anderson Silva. Always came off as a cocky douchebag which just rubbed me the wrong wau.

He backed it up though. Dude was legit the best fighter in the world for a good eight year period and has a claim to be the GOAT alongside guys like Fedor and Jones if he ever gets his shit together again.

I think it was a thing for them to escape certain questions. You don't see it happening anymore which is good. A sign of the times perhaps and how Ed, $9.99 app on my phone, Soares guided his fighters.

I have no interest in seeing BJ Penn fight in 2017 just as I didn't want to see him in 2016 or the year before that.
