MLB Opening Day/Weekly/Season LD

Still getting caught up on the Yanks/Sox. Nice catch by Jackie Bradley. Welcome to the big leagues indeed.

Are you a Sox fan?

Lester looked good today hopefully he has turned things around.

Ha Axford already blowing a save :lmao: So glad I don't have him on any of my fantasy teams!

Dr. is an Orioles fan I believe.

And JV not looking too shabby to start. 2 K in 2 IP. A few too many pitches, but he'll get some quick outs soon.

PICK FUJIKAWA UP!

I mean now! Marmol's one more bad outing away from the minors.
I missed out. Waited too long.

I'm hoping he Marmol turns it around and keeps the role til he's traded to a contender.

My boy Jeff Samardzija was flat-out dominant. Glad I took the chance on him (I can't expect a ton of wins, but he'll be great).

*high five*

I love me some Jeff Samardzija. Good pitcher.

And sadly for football fans he was a better Wide Receiver. He would have been the first WR off the board in 2007 Draft, and have a great career.

I'd love to see him say screw it and sign with the Bears. Bo and Deion did it. Although it's been 7 years now, it's be sweet to see him try and do both.

He and Brady Quinn were quite the duo.

That would be awesome, but I'm not sure he could pull it off.

Just got home and checking scores after turning on the Philly/Atlanta game to see what is going on.

Although as many others have mentioned, having Strasburg only throw 80 pitches seems a bit strange. Wouldn't he be ready to go without any issues after he was sat down last September? Or perhaps they are using the reverse approach from last year, start light to make sure he's available for the playoffs...

It's a reasonable move for any pitcher this early in the year. No need to stretch a guy out that far in April. People are still getting into form out of spring training.

Last year on Opening Day both Weaver and Hernandez were pulled from what could have been complete game shutouts for this reason.

Boy KC is gonna have a rough year if Santana gives up a bunch of gopherballs again. 2 already allowed today and they weren't exactly cheapies.

Yet another bomb allowed. Yeesh. Gordon almost made a hell of a play robbing it though. Just couldn't reel it in.

Not so good a use of the committee today Leyland. Coke shouldn't be going against RHB. C'mon now. Look at those splits from last year.

Regression my ass.

Says the diehard fan on day two in the 2nd inning. lol.

No, but Chris Davis is going to hit 40 HRs, that I do believe.

I love Wei-Yin Chen. There's nothing spectacular about his stuff. Not even exceptional. But it's how he uses what he has, and also how he gets himself out of tough situations. He's like a microcosm of the whole team.

Fuuuuck... soon as I say that he gives up a run. Ah, well... still love the guy.

Well, much like yesterday afternoon, the Rays have gone and made it interesting. If this is going to be like last year where we're in a bunch of nail biters then I'm going to go ahead and get a pacemaker installed now.

Well, I'm glad we tied it back up, but I just got some news that makes baseball very, very irrelevant. Life is a mofo. Hope all's good on your end, Mega. I'll be taking my leave.

I really miss MLB Network right now. And mlb.tv...

I'll be home next month though, and have access to precious MLB Tonight again, so I'll be able to do more in these LDs than talk about the Indians.

The 2-0 Indians, by the way. If you weren't paying attention.
