MLB Championship Series LD

I would go with Pettitte if they go to a Game 7 or whatever game the Rangers start Lee then. CC is the best pitcher they have though imo.
Hughes pitches Game 6, Pettitte game 7. That's the schedule, and that's the smart way to go about it.

And CC is not only the best pitcher they have, but he is also one of the best pitchers in the game. The other 2 guys are no slouches though.

Exactly, the only way to stop Lee is to have a guy that can match him strike for strike and Pettitte experience in the big games helps a lot.

There's no doubting CC's abilities b/c the Brewers don't even make the playoffs in 08 without him. He carried that team.

Him or CC, but as you said, the unmatched experience makes Pettitte ideal for matching Lee (like he came pretty close to doing in Game 3).

Damn straight. He pitched 3 times the final week of the season (all on short rest) and was the only reason they made the playoffs. He was the only horse they had, and they tried to ride him to death, but you can't kill CC.

And apparently the NLCS is starting momentarily. Long Island (where my Cable Box is) wouldn't know (nor would parts of Philly), since Cablevision doesn't carry Fox right now, because of a stupid contract dispute.

The damn near tried to kill him though probably b/c they knew he was gonna be gone after that. Oh, they got the big gun waiting for the 9th.

They felt bad for the Yankees, and just wanted to clinch it on their home turf.
or their starting pitcher pitched like shit, and the Yankees bats lived up to their baseball cards.

And you NEVER want to give them momentum, and as Craig Sager said (while looking ridiculous), it's always more fun to ruin someone elses clubhouse. Yankees have the momentum heading to Texas.

Rangers home postseason record: 1 and a shitload of losses.
Game 6 Pitching Matchup: All Star Phil Hughes vs. Colby Lewis. Who the fuck is Colby Lewis?

Colby Lewis was the guy that held the Yankees to 2 runs in 5 2/3 innings, while his opponent Hughes got rocked for 7 runs in 5 IP.

Also, Lewis had lower WHIP and ERA then Hughes, who was incredibly average after the ASB. His stats just look inflated because of his massive run support.

So yeah, do some research, because Lewis not only outpitched Hughes in Game 2, but had also better overall season stats.

yeah, I did research. Phil Hughes has no-hit stuff (has taken no hitters through 6 innings multiple times, including in Texas, in his 2nd career start).

Also, Hughes was DOMINANT for half a season, then the Yankees started skipping him to keep his innings down, your research should have noted that, but you mist not have looked far enough.

And CJ Wilson outpitched CC in game 1, and we all saw how that played out today.

I look at numbers, but people that look at numbers need to look at ALL the numbers, and also need to actually watch baseball too. Numbers do not tell the whole story.

The numbers I gave you shown Lewis has been a better pitcher throughout the entire season, Hughes just benefited by having a larger amount of runs scored when he played. Lewis's WHIP, ERA, and OBA are all lower then Hughes, while having pitched 25 more innings. Whatever reason why Hughes numbers are higher is irrelevant.

And you also said AJ Burnett's stuff is great, yet he gave up 5 runs in 6 innings and lost. Whether the bad call by Girardi affected him is irrelevant (since I know that'll be your excuse) Burnett gave up 5 and lost. I'll hold out my judgment on Hughes.

No, that Hughes has better stuff, and can be MUCH more dominant, and has been is. You're looking over an entire season, which isn't what matters when it comes down to 1 start. Colby Lewis is a journeyman, who spent he past 2 seasons in Japan, not good enough to pitch in the Majors. Don't for one second think Colby Lewis is a better pitcher then Phil Hughes. Lewis had a good season, Hughes has been dominant before (and can EASILY be again).

And you didn't watch that game. Burnett was dealing, and made 1 bad pitch he shouldn't have even been on the mound for. Again, looking at just the numbers is a copout. Yes, 5 runs in 6 is bad. Too bad it really was 2 in 5.2. Yes, I'll use a bad move as an excuse, because it's the FUCKING truth.

And AJ's stuff IS great. Analysts said that hitters still FEAR his CURVEBALL, and his FASTBALL, because they can be THAT FUCKING GOD DAMN GOOD.

Yankees/Rangers, Game 6 is underway in rainy Arlington (field is wet and the tarp was on the field before the game for a while). Colby Lewis walked Curtis Granderson with 1 out in the top half of the First, who got "caught stealing" (quotes because Granderson got his foot in before the tag).

So an eventful 1-2-3 for Lewis, and now Hughes will go to work.

Apparently Grandersons leg got up, and the tag was applied before he touched the base. Still ridiculously close, but he was called out, which is all that matters.

It's 1-0 Texas (thanks to a couple hits in the bottom of the first). The Yankees go 3 up, 3 down in the top of the 2nd, and it looks like the Home Plate Ump is giving Colby Lewis a few inches off the plate away to lefties (first 2 pitches of Nick Swishers AB were off the plate away and called). Hopefully he's consistent with that, and gives it to both pitchers.

OK, the ump is giving away to lefties consistently, so no problem there. Hughes threw one bout 6 inches outside and got the call.

Easy 1-2-3 for Hughes in the 2nd. 1-0 after 2.

Hey, someone else get in here. Baseball > Smackdown, or whatever else you're doing on Friday.
