I haven't seen a match listing for the best of Starrcade set but these matches definately belong on there.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper vs Greg "The Hammer" Valentine - Dog Collar Match (Starrcade 83)

Tully Blanchard vs Magnum TA - US Title "I Quit" Match (Starrcade 85) - This is is already featured on a DVD highlighting the greatest cage matches but it is one of the best matches in Starrcade history, and possibly the greatest "I Quit" Match of all time.

Ole & Arn Anderson vs Rock & Roll Express - World Tag Team Title Match (Starrcade 86) - Great Horseman tag match, Ole's last run as an active wrestler

Tully Blanchard/Arn Anderson vs The Road Warriors - World Tag Team Title Match (Starrcade 87) - Blanchard and Anderson are in top form, perfect cowardly foils for the monster Legion Of Doom - Still The Horsemen have a few tricks up their sleeve in a short but highly entertaining match (a clean ending would have been better, but this is still a good match)

Ric Flair vs Lex Luger - World Title Match (Disqualifications & Count-Outs can change the title) - (Starrcade 88)- Not only a good match overall but easily the greatest match Luger ever had. If anyone doubts Flair's ability to pull great matches from mediocre performers in his prime you have to watch this, a fast paced, back & forth 33 minute (extremely long for Luger) match.

Dusty Rhodes vs Lex Luger - US Title Steel Cage Match - (Starrcade 87) Maybe Dusty's best non-Flair match at Starrcade

Vader vs Ric Flair - Win Or Retire Match For World Title - (Starrcade 93) - This is a classic if you use the promos that Flair, Vader, and manager Harley Race did leading up this match, plus the scenes with Flair taking possibly his last limo ride with Mean Gene and seeing his family waiting for him back stage afterwards are priceless

Ric Flair vs Sting vs Lex Luger (winner vs Randy Savage) - World Title Match Starracde 95 - The match itself was good, lotta blood, intensity between Flair and Savage is high, although having both Chris Benoit and Brian Pillman involved (there's a Horseman run in at the very end helping Flair beat Savage after he already upended Sting & Luger alone) might be enough to keep this match off the set.

DDP vs Curt Henning - US Title Match Starrcade 97 - Underrated match, unusual clean finish in an NWO related PPV Match

Sting vs "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan - World Title Match - Starrcade 97 - This match could have been better but it was historic as Starracde 97 was the most watched wrestling PPV of the year, more than WrestleMania. Seeing Hogan pinned is a bonus

Goldberg vs Kevin Nash - World Title Starrcade 98 - Suprisingly good match (screw job ending with the return of Scott Hall hurts) as both Goldberg and Nash were booked as fan favs going in, leading to a match with very little rulebreaking. Nash was helping book WCW at the time and came under a lot of criticism for booking himself as the man to end Goldberg's two year long winning streak AND become champion but this was another huge event (I believe this Starrcade was second to WrestleMania that year in PPV buys) and it's a much better match than Goldberg is usually given credit for.

The Shawn Michaels Story: Heartbreak & Triumph:

If you look at this DVD and base HBK's career off it then you come to one conclusion. Overrated. It's not true of cause. But by the match listings you would certainly think so.

The documentary is fine. I guess. I donm't really see the point in it though. It's the same as the book. If it's the same as the book, then what's the point? Wouldn't it be better to just have more matches? He isn't short on classics. The only think that really stood out about this set is how tanned he is. Him and his wife are positively radioactive. If he developes cancer he has nobody to blame but himself. Overall you probably get more from the documentary if you've not read the book.

Although I have to say I almost pissed myself during one bit. I thought he was going to go all evangelical. I love those crazy fuckers.

Now the matches. Ok fair enough. All the best ones were on From The Vault. That's ok. At least they didn't pad out the set with them again, like they did with the Mysterio DVD. But some of the choices are baffaling.

Royal Rumble 1995:

I know he was the first in and won the thing. But that was the shortest Rumble ever. And he did nothing to stand out, bar 5 minutes at the beginning and the end. And who else was really a challenger to him? Bulldog and Luger were the only other wrestlers who were given a significant amount of time in the match. Owen Hart & Backlund lasted 10 seconds and a minute. Other than that there was nobody else who stood a chance. Here is the list of ''challengers'': Men On A Mission x2, King Kong Bundy, Blu Brothers x2, Bushwackers x2, Bob Holly (I bet he wishes he got reactions like that now), Rick Martel, Kwang, Doink, Heavenly Bodies x2, Headshrinkers x2, Duke Drose, Mantaur, Aldo Incredible, Henry Godwin, Smoking Gunns x2, Well-Dunn x1, Dick Murdock & Adam Bomb. Hardly a stellar cast.

HBK wasn't even the main focus. It was all about Bret Hart & Pamela Anderson.

If they insisted on adding a Rumble match 1996 would have been better.

A lot of the other matches are poor as well. Actually poor is the wrong word. They're solid. But HBK has got plenty of better matches. The mid 90's has a treasure chest of forgotten matches that could have been added. Ones never seen before by a lot of people, and ones worth revisiting by older fans.

Rockers vs. The Twin Towers (WrestleMania V)
Rockers vs. The Barbarian & Hake (WrestleMania VII)
vs. Bret Hart (Survivor Series 1992)
vs. Marty Janetty (Royal Rumble 1993)
vs. Owen Hart (In Your House Feb 1996)
vs. Vader (Summer Slam 1996)
vs. Sid (Survivor Series 1996)
vs. Davey Boy Smith (One Night Only 1997)
vs. Undertaker (Royal Rumble 1998)

There's probably a couple of Raw matches from that era they could have used. There's been a couple of low key matches since his return. Underwhelming DVD set in my opinion.

If they insisted on adding a Rumble match 1996 would have been better.

I agree. The 1996 Rumble had more big names, and a better quality feel for Shawn Michaels to end up winning it. Vader, Yokozuna, Owen Hart, the British Bulldog, Kevin Nash, and more. The final three of the four, Kevin Nash, Bulldog, and Shawn Michaels.. that Rumble even had a better ending than 95.

Don't get me wrong, I loved 1995, simply because I was able to watch H.B.K. from beginning to end.. but what exactly was he doing for most of the middle portion of that match? Laying in a corner somewhere. He had the most camera shots of "near eliminations" but when that wasn't happening, he was resting and being ignored.

vs. Bret Hart (Survivor Series 1992)

When looking at the Shawn Michaels/Bret Hart feud.. this is the match, along with the 1993 Survivor Series match, that'll be long since forgotten. The only other match I could think of, that'd be forgotten, is their mystery Ladder match that was apparently the first one of its kind for the W.W.F.

vs. Marty Janetty (Royal Rumble 1993)

I'm not sure if I'd consider this their best match. Overall, it was a big long for being as plain as it was. I liked it, but I'm somewhat bias. I like ALL Shawn Michaels matches.

However, what about their Cage match? Something about it being inside the cage just made it more interesting.

vs. Owen Hart (In Your House Feb 1996)

I actually have this match, in full, on a one hour "best of" In Your House VHS tape that I bought from Wal*Mart. It was a great find. This was possibly the best match H.B.K. and Owen Hart had, and it more or less ended their feud over Owen claiming to have almost ended H.B.K's career.

vs. Vader (Summer Slam 1996)

Another great match in my opinion that'll forever get lost in the history books. The reason I loved this match, was simply because it was all about over-coming the odds. Vader won the match twice, yet not the Championship. The part of the story, was that he kept asking for one more chance, and Shawn (who didn't "have to") kept giving him chance after chance, because Shawn knew he could beat him fairly. And in the end, did.

vs. Sid (Survivor Series 1996)

Their Royal Rumble match from 1997 was better. And if it was going on a Shawn Michaels DVD, it fits the purpose more. Their Rumble match was where he overcame the odds, in his hometown, being cheered thunderously. He even had a "flu bug" that night. (I love how they played that in)

vs. Davey Boy Smith (One Night Only 1997)

This was what pissed me off the most about this DVD. They didn't for whatever STUPID reason put this on it. You'd of thought for sure, because the match was only in the U.K., and for as high profile of match as it was, they'd of added it.

I ALWAYS hate myself for not buying this VHS tape, when it was on sale. Now I can't find it anywhere. And I know they no longer make it.

vs. Undertaker (Royal Rumble 1998)

I'm not sure if this match was anything worth anything, outside of being the result in his back injury. (Unless that was a work, in which case it had me completely fooled)

There's probably a couple of Raw matches from that era they could have used. There's been a couple of low key matches since his return. Underwhelming DVD set in my opinion.

I really think they could've had the Shawn Michaels v. Edge - Street Fight from 2005, instead of the one they put on there. Their first one was better.

Also, why on earth wasn't any of his matches with Triple H. put on there? Their Vengeance Hell in the Cell match was pretty decent, sure they've had better, but it was suppose to be the end to their rivalry.

One of the things that pissed me off the most about the HBK DVD is that they have 2 matches of him vs. the British Bulldog, when they didn't use the best of their series and could have had better matches on there. I thoroughly enjoyed the tag matches with the Brainbusters and Orient Express, both gems. Also, the match against Jeff Jarrett was solid and entertaining but has absolutely 0 significance other than HBK getting a pointless IC title run in 1995.

My biggest complaint is that they waste about 1/2 of the 3rd disc with that 60 minute match against Cena, a good match, but I would rather have seen 2 or 3 others put on there, perhaps the Elimination Chamber or vs. Jericho at WM 19, but I understand that the WWE has to get Cena on these things. I like this thread and will start posting some of my random DVDs on here as well.

Actually the Jeff Jarrett matches was one of the best of the year. It's the reason he then went to WCW to try and crack it as a main eventer. If Double J had stayed in WWE then he probably would have had a follow up match. Performed equally as well and have become a main event player down the line. Instead when he came back Austin put the kibosh on that, no main event run.

That led to Jarrett holding Vince up for a quarter of a million and going on his shit list. Somewhere between Savage & Nailz. Obviously he wasn't asked to return to WWE in 2001. So he formed>>>>>>>>>>> TNA. So it could be the most significant match on the whole set.

The Shawn Michaels Story: Heartbreak & Triumph:

If you look at this DVD and base HBK's career off it then you come to one conclusion. Overrated. It's not true of cause. But by the match listings you would certainly think so.

I think they missed some of his best matches off, for whatever reason, but at the same time, most of the matches were still great, and very entertaining.

The documentary is fine. I guess. I donm't really see the point in it though. It's the same as the book. If it's the same as the book, then what's the point? Wouldn't it be better to just have more matches?

I'm surprised they put the documentary on here, as I don't think many wrestling fans are interested in that. However this was a great part of it to me. The book was great, it sold well. Why not have him saying this? And showing us his emtions, especially when certain parts are that good, like when he's crying about not being a good father.

He isn't short on classics. The only think that really stood out about this set is how tanned he is. Him and his wife are positively radioactive. If he developes cancer he has nobody to blame but himself.

It's all her fault.

Overall you probably get more from the documentary if you've not read the book.

Not really; even though the content is the same, seeing what happens and reading about it are 2 very different things. I could practically recite the book to you, but still enjoyed the documentary, probably more than most.

Although I have to say I almost pissed myself during one bit. I thought he was going to go all evangelical. I love those crazy fuckers.

I couldn't help but laugh at that lol.

Now the matches. Ok fair enough. All the best ones were on From The Vault. That's ok. At least they didn't pad out the set with them again, like they did with the Mysterio DVD. But some of the choices are baffaling.

Which is basically the reason they aren't on here. So many people would have complained if it was the same, as you said, like with Mysterio.

Hardly a stellar cast.

HBK wasn't even the main focus. It was all about Bret Hart & Pamela Anderson.

Probably the only reason, is what you highlighted first. Shawn was the first person to ever do this, and in itself that deserves for it to be on the DVD.

A lot of the other matches are poor as well. Actually poor is the wrong word. They're solid. But HBK has got plenty of better matches. The mid 90's has a treasure chest of forgotten matches that could have been added. Ones never seen before by a lot of people, and ones worth revisiting by older fans.

If I'm being honest, I think almost all of Shawn's matches are classics, and really do show great WWE in them. They put matches of different types or styles on it, and basically tried to appeal to a wider audience. IMO I wouldn't have put the match with Cena on it, but that's what they did as it may have got more people wanting it.

Overal,, I really loved watching this. The matches were better on From The Vault, but this had some other matches that had been forgotten by a lot of people. And the documentary was probably one of the best wrestlers ones I have seen.
What I was shocked at the most, was that there is only one match from 96 I believe. This is the time where I think he had some really classic matches, and more should have been added.
I also think the DVD focused a little too much on The Rockers. Yes, it was a big part of him evolving into being one of the best, but still it got a lot more time on the DVD than I thought it would have.

Apparently Steamboat is going to get his own set next year. It'll be great. But does he really have that many hight profile matches to fill a two or three disc set? I'm sure he's got enough to fill a DVD. But there will need to be more than just his Flair matches & WM3 match to sell this. Bar the sort of fans who participate on forums it won't have any appeal to anybody else. Not even casual fans.

http://www.silvervision.co.uk/product.asp?pf_id=WWE1188

This is intresting. Only two discs for HHH. Yet everyone else seems to get 3. Is this WWE aditing he's overrated? No. I'm sure we'll get the Complete HHH Anthology when he retires. It's probably HHH being modest. But modest only so less people think he's an egotist.

The matches look good. But as I'm no fan I imagine it'll be one of those sets that takes me years to get round to watching.

I buy pretty much every WWE DVD that comes out and here is what I think WWE should do. Put DVDS out on the following: Ricky Steamboat, A Best Of Saturday Nights Main Event DVD, Macho Man (even though it got cancelled), Million $ Man, and maybe some more compilations like an Iron Man match dvd or hou abot a history of WWE 5 disc anthology where each disc could represent a different decade, disc 1 60s, disc 2 70s, disc 3 80s, disc 4 90s, disc 5 now. Thats what I would like to see

The History Of TNA: Year 1

Y'know what? It's not that bad. It's by no means a great DVD. But by TNA DVD standards it's pretty good. It drags a little. And other volumes (I assume they'll do years 2, 3, 4 etc) will be worthless. But It didn't bore me, and for the most part I was entertained by it. A lot of stuff has been skipped over, they seem to have forgotten all of the shit that populated the undercard at that time. But I can see why it's not on there.

It would be better if they just did The History Of The First 5 Years Of TNA. Instead of having other volumes. This set was about 110 minutes, so you'd assume about the same for the rest of volumes. So you're looking at about 9 hours all together. A bit pointless. WWE wouldn't even deserve that long and they've been going for decades.

So solid set. Good matches. And Dixie Carter should pose for the Knockout section on the website. Hot as fuck imo.

I'm really looking forward to WWE's Edge DVD (believe it set for Septemeber)

I recently bought the Best of Raw 15th Anniversarry set and here are my opinions:

Some really great bits of Raw History on this 3-disc set.

Disc 1: I'd really forgotten how cheesy some of the original RAW's really were, but some good matches on disc 1, including The Kid vs Razor, HBK Vs Janetty and Flair vs Perfect (in a loser gets fired match), overall plenty of action and the matches shown in full was a nice little touch. Couldn't think of any major moments they missed from this era, then we have some great stuff from personal favourite era of WWE, starting with Owen Hart Vs Shawn Michaels (a brilliantly done injury angle, don’t think even Owen knew what was happening), then we get some of the more absure moments of RAW with some wacky Goldust segment and the hard to watch Brian Pillman’s got a gun (I still believe that guy’s legitimately crazy, WHAT A WORK!) Then we’ve got a quality Mankind Vs Taker no hold barred match and Shawn Michaels crying into his beard. Chyna shows up, Bulldog V Owen in a legitimate classic for the European title, Bret gets pissed, Bret gets screwed, Bret screwed Bret, (you know the drill by now) was hoping for some Diesel bas ass ass kickings on this disc.
Then its onto the formation of DX (in its original form, therefore before it was good) the disc ends worryingly with shots of H and Michael’s backsides with Holly and mistletoe hanging.

Disc 2:
Started with the Vince vs Austin stuff (I was never a big fan of this) and would have liked to see more Corporation or even Corporate Ministry (more on that later), but it teeters along with all of those moments that we've seen on RAW and PPV intros for years: cement car, Tyson V Austin, Zamboni 3:16, Beer Truck etc.

Then we got a few nice little angles I didn't expect to see, such as Cactus and Funk taking a ride in a dumpster off the stage, or the DX Special report in full for a change (was shocked this was only months before Michaels retired [for a while]). Also included is one of my favourite RAW moments, the night after the Rumble where HHH becomes the DX head honcho and recruits X-Pac who really shoots during his promo (now wonder I usually see the cut version) unfortunately they don’t skip to the end of the night to show the Outlaws being recruited, and DX giving the signal from the 4 corners of the cage! There are some more surprises with the inclusion of the MEAN STREET POSSE, remember them? Vs Patterson and Briscoe, with the fans popping huge for the old timers victory, entertaining at least.

What really surprised me here was the inclusion of the "Higher Power", which was an angle that I was really emotionally invested in as a kid and scared me a lot, but they don't give enough background info for this to make sense, was a simple screw my family, its business, down comes the hood. If you’d never seen the angle before this would totally ruin it for you!

Following this is the part I really wanted in my DVD collection:
The Debut of Y2J, in its entirety, and its as good as I remember, quick witted back and forth (this is the way to push top-tier talent). This is followed by my second favourite moment on the disc, THIS IS YOUR LIFE, think everyone knows how great this is by now. Unfortunately someone during the creative process thought it was worth us seeing the Bossman insult the Big Show’s dead father, (world-wide multi-media powerhouse HOW?)
We then see Jericho “wins” the title, only to get screwed by Trips (life imitates art huh?). Then the shocker of all for me, Shane buying WCW. I know the subsequent angle failed miserably, but after this Nitro/Raw simul-cast no-one knew what was going to happen, and Vince looked smug.

Then its milk-o-mania (was this the highlight of the Invasion Angle, really?)
Trips milking a loud pop last for what seems like decades next put me to sleep faster than a Head-Cheese promo (Welcome back Mr Stephanie McMahon-Levesque).

Then it’s the confrontation of the 90’s, HOGAN AND ROCK. Rock definitely takes the lead here and helps Hogan pull of a good promo, building for a HUGE Mania match! The final moment on this disc is vomit-inducing to me, Bischoff hugging McMahon and BEING ON RAW, this really aggravated me the first time, don’t want to watch his egotistical rant again.

Haven’t gotten around to Disc 3 yet but have watched the first ever RAW, and not even the Nostalgia factor made it worth my time, unfortunately.

Will review Disc 3 if I get around to it.

I think DVDs about currently active guys are stupid. its almost to say that their best work is behind them. IDK.

Anyway....

One Night Stand 2007

Honestly, I think this PPV was severely underrated by many. Everyone was so pissed about it not being what it was the two years before, that they had pre conceived evaluation of this show I think. Im not real sure what everyone thought was wrong with it, certainley not a terrible show by WWE standards.

RVD Vs Orton, Stretcher match
what I felt was a very good, hard hitting match, with RVD getting in some really good offense, and putting over Ortons head hurter gimmick. Both guys got in some fine offense, and this wasnt a real terrible swan song for RVD, AND he got to go over. good match, I liked it 7.5/10

Table match The originals and CM punk, Vs New Breed
Another match, I found to be very entertaining. All the originals got in theri signature stuff, CM Punk preformed very well with a variety of good offense, including some high flying. The heels all played their parts very well, and the wrestling was mixed in well with the brawling. good, if not predictable finish, but still a fun match, with the faces going over clean. 7.5/10

Mark Henry Vs Kane, lumberjack match
Ok...so this was utter shit. The lumberjacks werent even at all involved, and the action in the ring was really boring, and shit overall. well this is Kane in his depreciated state, and fuckin Mark Henry. What do you expect? 5/10

Hardys Vs WGTT
While they botched the best spots that couldve been had, this match was still pretty sick I thought. Good offense and selling by both teams, a good hard fought victory for the Hardys. Of course thoroughly enjoyed the big Shelton splash off the ladder. 8/10

Puddin Match Candice Vs Melina
Eh...melina looked good in her suit. I fast forwarded this lol

Street Fight Bobby Lashley Vs Vince
Firstly, the pop for Lashley aggravated me. The WWE just wasted all the work they put into Lashley by letting him walk. You can tell by the reaction Lashley got, that he was right on the verge. BIG fuck up by lashley very early on, as he totally misses Umaga on the plancha to the outside. Besides that, I thought this match fuckin ROCKED. Lashley battling off Shane, Vince AND Umaga. every insane Shane spot that he does, were done, was awesome. Great action all around, in a wild match, with a sick clean win by Lashley. Loved it, probably my favorite Lashley match. 8.5/10

Cage Match, WHC, Edge Vs Batista
Thought it was a very good preformance by both guys. Carried by Edge, of course, but still not bad from Tista. Loved the finish, absolutely oved it. Edge bleeds hardway. One of the best straight up regular catch matches we have seen lately. 8/10

WWE title, Falls count anywere, John Cena Vs Kahli
well.....about as good as you could expect from these two, and the gimmick helped some. It certainley satisfied the crowd of people it was targeted towards, with the characters involved, and made them belive it, with the finish, ALA the big huge FU, to put down the Big huge monster. Very modern hogan-esque. 7/10

overall, I feel that it was a very underrated show. Only the Henry-Kane match was BAD. the rest were entertaining to good. Just becuase this couldnt touch the last two years ONS shouldnt bring this one down, as it wasnt suppose to be the same thing, and never even tried to be. Its not your precious ECW reunion show anymore. Get over it, and rate this show properly.

I completely agree with you. This was a pretty entertaining PPV. It was a good way to leave all the gimmick matches on one PPV for the smarks, and a good way for the average wrestling fan to enjoy some gimmick matches. I have to admit this PPV can crack my top 5 PPV's (for WWE) of 2007. I don't usually buy PPV's (except for 'Mania), but I got this one.

The reason it got such a bad review from most people is because it wasn't liek the previous two ONS's.

This was a pretty good stretcher match both wrestlers did their part, and I enjoyed it. We had a few big bumps, and all in all it was a pretty decent gimmick match.

This match was done very well. We had big spots, to signature moves, to good tag team moves. The finish may have been predictable, but it was still a fun, impactful match.

Mark Henry Vs Kane, lumberjack match
Ok...so this was utter shit. The lumberjacks werent even at all involved, and the action in the ring was really boring, and shit overall. well this is Kane in his depreciated state, and fuckin Mark Henry. What do you expect? 5/10

Terrible.

A pretty good ladder match, which wasn't shocking. If you put the Hardys in a ladder match with Yokozuna, they can make him look good. Back to the match, good back and forth spots, and an enjoyable ladder match.

Puddin Match Candice Vs Melina
Eh...melina looked good in her suit. I fast forwarded this lol

The making of my sandwhich took longer than the match.

Loved it, probably my favorite Lashley match. 8.5/10

Sorry, but I have to go against you here Norcal. IMO, this was a pretty bad match. I was basically the same thing as Backlash. It was a meh match in total, but I don't think it's what you make it up to be.

My favourite match of the night. Edge really impressed me in this. Even though Edge carried Batista the entire time, I have to say Batista didn't look bad. Edge/Tista showed us that it was still possible to put on an entertaining cage match. This was probably the cage match of the year. And one of my favourites from Batista (of 2007).

WWE title, Falls count anywere, John Cena Vs Kahli
well.....about as good as you could expect from these two, and the gimmick helped some. I didn't expect much from these two, and didn't get much. For their potential it was a meh match.

overall, I feel that it was a very underrated show. Only the Henry-Kane match was BAD. the rest were entertaining to good. Just becuase this couldnt touch the last two years ONS shouldnt bring this one down, as it wasnt suppose to be the same thing, and never even tried to be. I like this PPV.
7/10

I just have one part of the Stone Cold Steve Austin DVD that I found utterly disappointing.

During the Triple H./Steve Austin - Survivor Series 2000 match, they edited out almost all of the final moments of the backstage stuff, because it featured Chris Benoit. Now I'm not arguing over them editing Benoit, dispite I think its stupid, however what I am complaining about is.. if you're going to add matches on a "best of" DVD, then why bother adding ones you're going to massively edit the ending of?

Overall, the rest of the Austin DVD up to this point has been amazing. I really enjoy DVDs in this format, even though I would've liked to have the story seperate from the matches. The reason I love this DVD set, is because it gives you a kinda "Mick Foley: Greatest Hits and Misses" feel to it. However since its suppose to be the defining moments of Steve Austin's career, you'd assume they'd have him talk almost how they have H.B.K. talk.

You know what, the Austin DVD was fine, but I was watching it with my brother and we noticed how the WWE edited everything out as far as the cussing. It's fine, if that's what they want to do, but that kind of ruins the Austin character in my opinion. Middle fingers are blurred, and the audio track with Austin cussing is clearly messed with. So we get to the 2000 match against Triple H, and I said it, they won't edit out Triple H's Holy Shit. Guess what, they didn't edit out Triple H's holy shit. So guys, Triple H is now the only guy that can cuss apparanetly. So anyone that bashes on me for Trips power trips, why is he the only one to be able to cuss on the DVD, it's because he made the Attitude Era, duh?

Plus the Benoit editing in the Survivor Series match is absolutely horrendous. This was a near perfect DVD, but don't include this match if you're going to butcher it. I feel ripped off with any DVD I buy and the matches are edited to hell and back. Oh well, at least i have the original version of most of these matches.

I had no idea Austin's cursing was edited. I knew a couple middle fingers were, but what cussing bits were edited? And yeah, I clearly heard the Triple H. "Holy Shit" moment.

See, this is the biggest problem I have with the W.W.E. right now and buying anything they sell anymore. Because they try to play the shit off as original and "just like before." When the fact is, its not.

This makes me greatly wonder how they're going to run off the SummerSlam anthology with the 2004 version of Randy Orton defeating Chris Benoit in the Main Event. What're they gonna do, end it with Undertaker v. J.B.L.? Or better yet, the fucking Diva Dodgeball segment.. that'd be well worth the damn near $200.00 I'd be spending on the collector's set.

All I have to say is, they better get their shit together before they put that huge pile of crap out on the market all chopped up and edited, because if I get a copy of that Anthology without the Main f'n Event of the 2004 Summerslam, then the W.W.E. will personally be paying me my money back. Or sending me the f*cking Benoit tapes themselves.

That is a terrible cover. It really is. Oh no wait. They can't do anything with Jeff Hardy as his only move was on the front of the Ladder match DVD. HaHaHaHaHa.

Anyway it's two disc. One for each Hardy. Why not a third with tag matches?

Matt Stories:

Driven to be Successful
The Trampoline Days
OMEGA
The Big Time
Wrestlers Become Stars
Team Extreme
Mattitude
Back on RAW
Love Triangle
Hardyz Reunion
The MVP Challenges
The Future is Bright

Jeff Stories:

A Unique Enigma
Poetry in Motion
imagInation
Singles Release
Freedom
Evolution
Dream 2 Defy

Is it me or are both of them pretty dull?

Average selection of matches for Matt. Ok match with Kane at Vengeance 04, good cage match with Kane at Unforgiven 05, A match with Kennedy that's only notible because it was Ken's 1st pinfall loss, a match with Joey Mercury and an OMEGA match.
shakehead.gif

Jeff get's more matches. But none are really that special. Good tables match with the Dudleyz, his first IC title victory, solid match with Nitro, a forgotten match with Benjamin, a match with Matt vs. Cade & Murdock, his fluke victory over HHH @ Armageddon and a good Cage Match vs. Umaga.

Overall it's a pointless set. Although it might be better once you watch it.

I'm assuming you mean Matt v. Edge/Cage at Unforgiven 2005. I was just about to ask why on earth they wouldn't put that, then I thought.. "Wait a sec, it was in 2005." I'm assuming you had a typo.

Anyways, why wouldn't they put the Matt Hardy v. Jeff Hardy/Vengeance 2001 (Dec.) match? Lita was the Special ref. That match was Team Extreme at its finest! I'm not even joking, I loved that match.

And seriously, Omega?! Joey Mercury?! What about Matt Hardy v. Rey Mysterio from WM 19, or Matt Hardy when he was European champion. Apparently W.W.E. doesn't think too fondly of Matt, to have a career highlight package of him winning over piss-ants. I mean, Joey f'n Mercury. Might as well package all the contests he won over M.V.P. and say they were a crowning achievement to his career.

(Yes, by the way I noticed in the story part it actually has something to do with the M.V.P. contests :disappointed:)

At least it has his match against Triple H. from 2001. Although they don't have any Hardyz v. E&C matches which is pathetic, especially to not even carry their No Mercy 1999 Ladder match that basically MADE their career. Or their match against the A.P.A. at Fully Loaded in 1999.

Seriously, I could sit here and list off better matches then this piece of shit card they've slapped together. I'm almost assuming they grouped these matches at random, and threw darts at a board to select them. No one even cared to pick the best ones. And whats worse, I think over half are matches from Raw or Smackdown, and from the past 2 years.

I could lst off plenty of good Hardy matches. And I'm not even a fan.

I enjoyed heel Matt, and I still like him now. But Jeff is a pile of shit. There's no real debate about it. Ok if you started watching wrestling in Jauary of this year I can see it. He's been pretty good. But before that, when people were saying how good he was, he was crap.

As for the lack of quality matches. I attribute that to the upoming Edge DVD, and the Ladder match one. Really. Other than a few Dudley ones that eliminates a lot of the tag matches. They're a boring team. Without gimmick matches they don't really have much to offer. There best tag year was last year. And the matches with Cagde & Murdock were nothing more than filler.

Greatest Superstars of Wrestlemania-In the Theater.

Although the DVD has already been previewed on this thread I actually went to the theater on Saturday and saw it.

They didn't show the all of the matches but did show a few good ones.

First up was Hulk Hogan vs. the Rock at Wrestlemania X8. I have never seen the WWE edited version of this Wrestlemania and was annoyed with the fact that they didn't use Hogans original Hendrix music or even nWo music but instead had some lame guitar sound.

Oh well. The match itself on the big screen and surround sound looked pretty cool. You were able to get a feel of how the crowd was that night. The sound also allowed you to hear more of the wrestlers talking in the ring and heard some more of the impact the moves had.
This was a decent match at best but the crowd made it memorable.

HBK is up next with his match against Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 19. I would have prefered the match against Angle at Wrestlemania 21 but I think this match came across cooler on the big screen because of the setting.
A great match regardless and it reminded me that Jericho needs to go back to being a heel. They even showed the ending with Jericho kneeing HBK in the groin.

Undertaker vs. Randy Orton- Wrestlemania 21. Great entrance by the Undertaker and in my opinion this was the Undertakers best match from all of his Manias. Orton was able to sell all of takers moves great and had you thinking a few times he might win especially when he countered the chokeslam with an rKo.

Triple H vs. Chris Jericho. Wrestlemania X8. I have no idea why this match is on here. It's decent put pretty anti climactic. The finish was sloppy with Triple H countering some type of kick from Jericho for the pedigree. They should have put Wrestlemania 2000's fatal 4 way match for the game.

Last up is

Stone Cold vs. The Rock from Wrestlemania 15. This was my favorite out of the 3 mania matches they had. The buildup was great and it was a no DQ brawal that went all over the place. They ended up with 4 refs and Mick Foley coming down for the final 3 count.

Overall I'm glad I went to the theater to see this. The sound was great and seeing it on the big screen was even better. They used a digital projector so the picture quality was nice and they showed the matches in their entirety including entrances.

Thumbs up to WWE for this one.

Undertaker: 15-0

Browsing HM the other day I spotted this. I was convinced I already had it. But considering it was in the chart I assumed I was wrong. Alas I wasn't, I now have two copies of Undertaker: 15-0. Shame considering it's shit. Possibly the most predictable WWE DVD of recent memory.

He wins them all.

Most of the matches aren't in full. Thank god.

His first two matches left me completley indifferent. I like them because I remember them from when I was younger. But I wouldn't consider them to be good.

The Giant Gonzalez match is awesome. I love really shitty wrestlers.

Bubdy match get's a meh off me. As do the Dielsel & Sid ones. I've decided after several weeks of watching Tagged Classic DVDs that I like Sid now. But only because he's wank.

Both the Kane matches are poor. But the angles that came with them carry them through.

Why was a HIAC booked at Mania? I do miss the Boss Man. Loved that guy.

HHH & Flair matches are ok. The Triple H one isn't special in my opinion. I don't know why it's considered great.

I enjoyed the Handicap match. Why? Nathan Jones, that's why.

The Orton match is good. But again I'm not seeing what all the fuss is about.

Casket is crap. And the Batsita one is great in my opinion. Only problem is that I've seen it three times this past year. No need to see it again.

Overall a poor set. Only one proper main event on the whole thing. Put it like this. Taker vs. Sid is his only one. Lawrence Taylor shares the same number with him.

Ladder Match

I'm not going to list every match. I'll just say that I'm fairly disappointed. I don't regard any of these matches to be classics, really, even the Shawn Michaels ones. When I bought it, I was so sure that there were a lot of fantastic ladder matches. There aren't that many judging by this. The best one's TLC II (it's definitely on there, right? Haven't watched it in a while) and I've got that on my WrestleMania 17 DVD anyway. The blurring of the WWF logo still pisses me off beyond belief.

Shawn Michaels: HB and Triumph

A bit of a meh DVD. For someone who feels he's missed out on a fair few of Shawn Michaels classics, this DVD was a big disappointment. The selection of matches on this is fairly poor, and this coming from someone who hasn't seen nearly as many HBK matches as, say, HBK-aholic, but has definitely seen a lot of better ones than that in this set. I'm still a bit pissed they wiped Benoit out, and that Angle's only there for their Vengeance match. I'm guessing that's because it's the one Michaels wins.

Undertaker: Tombstone

Overall, pretty good. As long as it had a few matches with Mankind and a few matches with Michaels I couldn't really have cared less. If anything, this just makes me think what a shit idea the American Badass was for me. Enthusiasm-wise, those are the worst parts of the DVD for me. When was this DVD produced? 2005? They could have fitted on a few more recent matches.

Biggest Little Man

Although this DVD is indisputable evidence that Rey Mysterio isn't the biggest little man, it's by far my favourite from the four. The only complaint is there are far too many WWE matches (when the DVD turns poor) - I mean it's more than his WCW and ECW matches combined! Would be a joke, if the first disc and a half weren't so incredible. Dean Malenko's matches are a highlight.

To celebrate WrestleMania I'll be doing a couple of quick reviews for each of the previous 23. Why? Because I'm bored.

WrestleMania I:

It's hard to review this show. The wrestling is poor. But it's the biggest, most important show in history.

WrestleMania II:

Poor show. If I'm being nice there are two good matches. The Bulldogs vs. The Dream Team & The Funks vs. Toto Santana & JYD. But I'm being really nice there.

WrestleMania III:

The 2nd biggest show of all time. Only one match delivered. The rest of the card is piss poor.

WrestleMania IV:

I like it. It's still a terrible show though. It's overloeaded with too many matches, most of which have cheap finishes.

WrestleMania V:

The best Mania so far. 4 good quality matches. But all of the shows feature way too many quick matches. Back then the shows were all filler.

WrestleMania VI:

This show depends on how you feel about Hogan vs. The Warrior. I think it's shit. Others like it. The undrcard is bad though.

WrestleMania VII:

The warrior vs. Savage is an absolute classic in my eyes. With the right opponent Warrior was awesome. Bar two other matches the rest of the card sucked. The main event was terrible. Only WWE would pretend that the Gulf War was still going on.

WrestleMania VIII:

I'd been watching wrestling for years by the time I saw this. But it's the first one I can watch now and predict what's happening next. It's special to me, despite, yet again, being total crap.

WrestleMania IX:

Considered to be the worst Mania of all time. I don't agree. It's terrible, but so are a lot of other ones. This is so bad it's good in my opinion. Most things about this show are memorable, but does anybody really remember much about the previous ones?

WrestleMania X:

Two matches are classic. The opening Hart match and the Ladder one. Other than that it's hit and miss, yet again.

WrestleMania XI:

Absolute shite. It was a show based on celebs. The wrestling was a distant second.

WrestleMania XXI:

It depends how you feel about the Iron Man match. If you like it then this is a solid show. If not then it's pretty poor. The Backlot Brawl was really good in my opinion. Even better on the Piper DVD, where you can watch it in one go.

WrestleMania XIII:

Hart vs. Austin is a classic. As is the Chicago Street Fight, considering who was involved. And The Bulldog/Owen vs. Vader & Mankind was good. The rest was dross.

WrestleMania XIV:

Another important show. But important doesn't mean great.

WrestleMania XV:

The heel turns were more intresting than anything else. Not a bad show, but not really memorable.

WrestleMania 2000:

Poor, poor, poor. What are there no singles matches on this card?

WrestleMania X7:

It's good, I enjoyed it. But it's considered to be one of the best cards of all time. But the best card of all time surley would be consistently great. This is not.

WrestleMania X8:

People wanted to see Austin vs. Hogan. They got The Rock. A poor substitute. The match is meh. As is the rest of the card.

WrestleMania XIX:

The best Mania so far. I believe it's one of the worst drawing Mania's. That's probably because Vince vs. Hogan got the most hype. Good match, but too long. The rest of the card is consistently solid.

WrestleMania XX:

Good. But WWE tried to get everybody of value on the card which resulted in some real short and worthless matches. Great ending. Until Benoit went all Boston Strangler on everybody that is.

WrestleMania 21:

Ok show. Back then the MITB was intresting. Angle 7 HBK stole the show. Unfortunately it was anew era. The era of Cena & Batista. Wo e is me.

WrestleMania 22:

Like the year before, it's ok. There is some good, some bad, and some ugly.

WrestleMania 23:

2nd best Mania of all time. True story. There are only two abysmal matches on the whole card. Which makes it 2nd by default. The rest ranged from good to great.

You seem to hate every DVD that the WWE comes out with yet you still watch purchase and review them. Why even watch the WWE/F if you hate it so much or think everything is "shit"?

Regardless I too will steal your idea and review Wrestlemanias 1-10 for now because I too am bored!

Wrestlemania 1- Agreed with Jake on this one. So many filler matches and the Main Event actually was entertaining to watch. Other than the main event though I couldn't think of one match that was memorable.

Wrestlemania 2- A horrible idea to hold a PPV from three venues. The best part about this Wrestlemania was Jesse Venturas commentary.

Wrestlemania 3- My earliest memory of Pro Wrestling. I tend to fast forward through the Hulk/Andre match as it was nothing but bear hugs. Still The Macho Man/Steamboat match and the Piper match were both great to watch and have a ton of replay value.

Wrestlemania 4- Horrible. Having the Macho man "Cheat to win" the WWF title was an annoying move as he was a face but still a decent main event for a lackluster show.

Wrestlemania 5- Hulk vs. Savage was a great match mostly due to all of the buildup prior to it. Nothing else of note on this Wrestlemania for me.

Wrestlemania 6- Besides the obvious Hulk vs Warrior main event I thought the mixed tag match with Dusty and Saphare vs. Macho King and Sherri was pretty entertaining. This was when I felt that Wrestlemania started to turn the tide and become more of a "Show of Shows" for the WWF.

Wrestlemania 7- My favorite Wrestlemania of all time. I loved the Savage/Warrior match, I thought the Jake the Snake vs. Rick Martel match was hilarious, First WM appearance of the Undertaker, The Rockers put on a great opening match and even the Bulldog/Warlord match was entertaining. As for the main event I thought it was fun to watch. Slaughter was always a decent wrestler and a great heel and the crowd went NUTS when Hulk came out with the flag. Plus Bobby Heenans commentary is classic along with Gorilla Monson.
Gorilla: "She's crying"(Girl in the crowd during the Macho Man/Elizabeth Angle)
Bobby: "Maybe her shoes are on too tight"

Wrestlemania 8-This mania is always fun for me to watch because of a few matches. Shawn Michaels vs. Tito Santana and Ric Flair vs. the Macho Man which could go down as one of the best Wrestlemania matches of all time in my opinion. Having the Warrior come back was a great suprise and made the main event more interesting.

Wrestlemania 9- Wow. Not a good PPV. Pretty bad actually but had a couple of good matches. Mr. Perfect vs. Lex Luger and Undertaker vs. Giant Gonzalez only because the Taker came back after he was "Knocked out" with whatever was on that cloth. Plus watching it again is hilarious with the Macho Man saying "WRESTLEMANIA 9!!!" Over and over again.

Wrestlemania 10- I liked all the nostalga about this show and I liked Burt Renyolds on the show. The matches were decent at best. Not a fan of Owen/Bret like everyone else is but I did enjoy the ladder match and suprisingly Bret vs. Yoko entertained me.

11-23 coming up later this afternoon!

Ric Flair & The Four Horsemen.

Simply put, this is on par with Ric Flair's DVD as my favourite WWE DVD release yet. The documentary is fantastic, and it's great to get to see some old footage of the Horsemen. It's a little weak when we get to the later incarnations of the faction, but that's to be expected, since they didn't last as long and weren't as great as their initial few runs.

The second disc features some great matches in Flair vs. Morton, Blanchard vs. Rhodes, among a few other classics and promos. With that said, the amount of matches is a little disappointing, they could easily have fit 5-6 more matches on here. Overall, it's a great DVD, and I still haven't got bored of it. WWE should produce more DVD's of this quality.
