Although I was slightly disappointed, it makes more sense than anything else. I didn't want there to be a huge reveal that would overshadow the Shield such as a Lesnar or Cena. Personally I wish the Shield truly was an independent group that had nothing to do with Punk or Heyman but this route also makes sense.

They could always have it where Punk truly didnt know anything and only Heyman was behind it but that problem with that is Punk would likely have to turn face.

My biggest question from here is what happens with the Shield now. I think next week they could shape things up and maybe have the Shield attack Punk and/or Heyman to create a buzz again.

Meh. Not really. I knew it was only a matter of time until Heyman was revealed as the brains behind The Shield. It was just kind of odd how it all went down though.

I guess Maddox got pissed after getting beatdown and forked over the tape to Vince? I mean why was Maddox's camera guy still filming anyway?

This was the expected outcome so it was bound to happen sooner or later. As soon as I saw Vince was "reviewing" Heyman's performance, I knew it would be the return of Brock.

Still not sure why they didn't have him pop up last night @ the Rumble though.

Of course this will lead to Triple H coming back next week to set up his rematch with Lesnar @ 'Mania.

They could still play an angle that it was all Heyman behind it, and Punk had no idea, which could lead to Heyman splitting from Punk.

No i really was not upset nor surprised at all. When you look at it i guess there was really no other options they could have gone with. This i think will turn punk face with punk claiming all along he didnt know anything about this. Heyman on the other hand has never uttered those words to my knowledge himself.

He sorta of just sat back and snickered. But in the end no im not upset

Not disappointed simply they were just hired guns. Everyone already known that Haymen was behind the shield so it was no big deal and it set up for the return or Brock. I don't see the shield carrying this story line much long since Brock came out and F5 Vince turning the story line to focus on that.

hopefully now the shield can get away from Heyman and develop more as their own group. Now that his dirty business with them has been exposed he's unlikely to enlist them again. I was hoping they'd let the Shield be doing their own thing from day one. These three don't need to be tied to a guy like heyman to get over as heels. I mean hell they were over in my book as soon as they started taking down top level guys one by one. And their match with Ryback & Team Hell No was fantastic wish it had come sooner so it could've been on the best ppv matches of 2012.

put simply I believe in the Shield and I also believe they can do without Heyman and this is coming from a Paul Heyman guy...pipebomb...

I'm ok with the reveal my only wish would be that this happened back in late October or November so that we could have had a huge Team Heyman vs Team Triple H or McMahon match. Think of a team of the Shield, Punk and Lesnar vs Triple H, Cena, Sheamus, Ryback, and Orton. Would have been huge but I also understand they didn't want to use up the Lesnar dates prior to this new deal being signed.

As for what will happen, we're going to get Lesnar vs Triple H, the Sheild is still going to be the Shield and do what they do, I just feel like Punk may be left out to dry unless the ultimate goal is him vs Taker at Mania.

I think this opens more doors for the WWE. I think they were on the verge of getting stale so doing this keeps the momentum. They need to keep those videos they do to explain their actions or it just gets confusing and their purpose becomes unclear.

An alliance with Punk/Lesnar/Heyman is what people are dreaming for but I just can't see it happening. I doubt the WWE group three different entities together, especially when they can all draw separately. Punk is fine on his own and can feud with Taker. Lesnar with HHH. Leaving the shield to solving the injustices and keep them interesting.

I think there is potential room for the whole "pay off the shield" storyline. I think they could become an almost modern day APA but better. Instead of sitting in the back waiting for someone to come pay them I could see them coming out and continueing to dominate until people start paying them off just to get them off their backs.

I mean imagine how characters could develop if for example with Hell No. Think the shield keeps jumping them costing them matches and making their life hell. Kane is pissed and wants to go after them because he is sick of it, Daniel Bryan on the other hand just wants them to stop so they can get back on track. Behind Kane's back, and off camera, he pays off the shield and suddenly after weeks of constant attacks by the shield they just stop, and Hell No starts rolling again as a tag team. Then the shield themselves come to challenge for the tag team titles and in order to throw off team hell no they reveal that Daniel payed them off. Kane is pissed, and the crowd is unhappy with Daniel for giving in to the shield. While Kane and Daniel are both fighting each other about it the shield takes advantage. From there the fued could go however you want it.

It's not just Hell No that you could do this with. You could also have it happen to heels. The Shield could attack Wade, or Antonio and extort them for money, or they could pay them to be body guards if they get into a fued which goes over their head. I think this angle with the shield being mercinaries to the highest bidder has a lot of potential if used right.

What would you do with...The Shield. I have ideas where The Shield goes and who they fued with leading up to Wrestlemania. They could be alinged with Lesnar and fued with HHH, they could be aligned with CM Punk and fued with taker or my personal favourite at Wrestlemania it is revealed that they are in cahoots with Cena and Cena turns heel. My question is who do you want them do be aligned with and who do you want them to fued with?

The Shield angle sucks at this point. Sorry, IWC folks, the whole thing has been botched.

It could have been awesome. The whole "fighting against injustice" idea is a good one, and I haveno problem with them attacking faces, but from the jump they should have been attacking heels as well, and kept far, far away from Heyman and Punk. It would have been interesting and unpredictable that way.

They would have actually looked like a threat that way. Instead, they look like predictable lackeys, like every other failed faction in wrasslin' history.

I love the three guys in The Shield but....I'm honestly getting bored and more annoyed with it. It's predictable and it doesn't feel like the WWE knows where to go with it now.

They don't do anymore videos to explain the "injustice." They don't even attacks the heels to make it seem like they're a rebel group attacking everything they feel is "wrong." They just come off as a bunch of lackeys ambushing a top face every single face, numbers game etc etc, triple powerbomb, leave.

I just want them to start adding some layers to this or go somewhere with the storyline.

So i was surfing youtube the other day and came across the shield's theme song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sg_86-jGsQ

If you notice they say Sierra Hotel India Echo Lima Delta = SHIELD

The Person who says "Hotel" sounds an awful lot like CM Punk if you go back and listen to it again. Also whoever said "the shield" at the end sounds like Ambrose. HMMM interesting. Doesn't whoever says Sierra sound like Daniel Bryan.

The promo from the Shield last night was great.

Aside from doing hired mercenary work to help Punk/Heyman, and cutting very cryptic promos about "Injustice", we had gotten very little concrete about the group and its motives.

Last night they finally gave it to us.

The logical reasoning behind what the Shield stood for was that it would be similar to what Nexxus was supposed to stand for, and invoke many of the same ideas that were proposed by Punk in his first infamous "pipebomb". That of overly talented rookies who had paid their dues at developmental only to feel that they are being held down and will be limited from ever reaching their full potential due to the company's focus on its overgrown system-created "supermen". This type of attitude fits what Moxley and Black represent perfectly. Supremely talented indie workers with huge buzz who could be toward the top of the industry yet are upset because they have to sit back and watch roles that could arguably be righfully theirs instead be filled by guys who look like "Ryback". It's a classic and easy idea that is debated by us in the internet crowd constantly.

To see them finally let Shield cut a promo that made them look strong, and that finally pushed their purpose in that direction was a nice and needed next logical step.

My one criticism... I can't help but think that the promo would have been far more effective and perhaps seen as a "classic" and "memorable" promo for a long time to come if it had been delivered completely by Ambrose instead of a group effort.

I can't help but think that they are really missing the boat by not having the six man at EC take place inside the Chamber. My only thought is that they want to book Shield to win, but don't know how to reconcile them getting pinfall victories against all three faces in the match, especially considering that would mean someone pinning Ryback.

I was watching WWE's "The Attitude Era" DVD where they highlight some great matches and moments from the Attitude Era. One of them obviously being the debut of Y2J. I have watched his debut a million times, but this time i really paid attention. I thought about everything he said and i realized he described the current product of today perfectly.

(If for some reason you haven't seen his debut i suggest you watch it so you know what i'm talking about)

Fast forward a little bit and you have Jericho returning to "Save Us". And as i thought about Jericho's career more and more, i feel like it's kind of kept this ongoing theme no matter if he's heel or face.

Then i started thinking about The Shield. How they have arrived to correct the injustices in the WWE. Some might even say "Save us" if you see where i'm going with this. This isn't a prediction, more of a what if.

What if Jericho cut a promo similar to his debut? What if Jericho was eventually announced as the leader of The Shield? Everyone has been looking for this potential leader, who better than Chris Jericho? If anyone is going to lead a new stable, Jericho definitely should be at the top of your list to do so.

People are worried about The Shield ending up like Nexus, Jericho could be the one to prevent this from happening. We have seen how great he can be as a heel and i think he could pull this role off perfectly. I also think it could work with Jericho's off and on schedule. I'm not sure if anything has been confirmed but from what i have heard he is supposed to go away again after Wrestlemania. I think it would be very easy for him to cut promos via satellite. He could be that bad guy that you always want to get your hands on, but never seem to do so. He could run The Shield and give them orders from a distance, never putting himself in harms way. I think it works perfectly.

Let me know what you think, i'm interested to read your responses.

As I saw the Shield defeat another triumvirate of faces, I started to wonder about their potential future. And then I beheld the tag team division:

Team Rhodes Scholars has broken up, Team Hell No will probably do the same soon. Primo and Epico are jobbing to everyone, Usos much the same. And Rey and Cara seem to be done. Yet there is still this sense that the tag team division will become more important in the near future.

And then there is the Shield. Here is a trio known for being a cohesive unit that is supereffective at teaming up against individuals. Their fame is based on being a group. Given the push they are getting, the wins, and being over, could they not turn towards the tag division and take those titles?

They already have a history with Team Hell No. Maybe their string of victories, first winning the titles and then retaining them, breaks up Team Hell No. Maybe they as a trio hold the titles, or possibly two of them with the third serving as spoiler for their defenses.

Throwing ideas out there. Feel free to critique.

The Shield have been booked incredibly well so far and have delivered on every opportunity they have been given. I think the next natural step is for them to win the tag titles and invoke the old Freebirds rule.

Granted the tag teams they'll be facing will seem like a big step down from the super-face trios they've beaten so far, but I think they can elevate the division as opposed to it dragging them down.

As we've seen since their debut they are an outside force invading the ring from the crowd, every time. Though they then got the addition of music and ultimately started wrestling matches. My question is this. Why has the WWE been skipping over storyline details such as why an invading group is "hired" to the roster to compete in actual matches. Something that has been bothering me. Usually superstars work to get their contracts. TNA covers these gaps in storylines with match stipulations tho i feel we havent seen this for a bit in the WWE. Now its just, your on TV, your on the roster. How do others feel about this?

I might be wrong, but I don't think I've ever heard WWE refer to The Shield as an invading force. Even if they have, the fact that WWE has repeatedly said that Rollins, Ambrose & Reigns were part of the NXT roster. The WWE has also explained that NXT is now the name of WWE's developmental territory. As a result, The Shield was already employed by WWE so there was never any need for them to try to "earn" a contract.

Besides you can ask that question about any group that has ever attacked, The NWO, The Nexus, Aces and Eights, the Radicalz.

All outside groups that compete / competed without contracts

They aren't an invading force. They've never been positioned as anybody outside the company. In fact, they have mentioned many times their histories in NXT, so in kayfabe it's clear that they are employees of the WWE.

As for why they come through the crowd, A) It's cool, and B) I guess you could reason that since everyone in the locker room is on notice as far as they're concerned, they're probably not welcome back there.

Because it's an unnecessary detail that bogs down the storyline and wouldn't really have any affect on it whatsoever. Just utilize your willing suspension of disbelief.

Michael Cole immediately mentioned that Reins and Rollins were part of the Shied. They covered it well but I'm not sure if they mentioned Ambrose. I can't remember if he was in NXT or if they covered were his background.

There are certainly other gaps in the WWE but that is natural. It is impossible to cover every last detail even if some are minor and easy to solve.
