just saw this match shows how good Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes are and how poorly wwe has booked and utilized them just focusing on Cena and not building their future talent.

Royal Rumble has been used as catalyst to both push new talent into main event and to put already established talent into main event picture and create memorable moments. So imo either Ziggler, Rhodes or Barret should win the 2013 Royal Rumble match. Right now I see Rhodes winning it unless an already estabilished superstar is slotted to win.

The only problem I would have with Rock returning is that you know he will win it if he enters. It would completely give the whole thing away, He wouldn't come back to lose.

The rock will win the royal rumble and go onto to face the WWE champion John Cena at Wrestle Mania. It's how the WWE can explain 'once in a lifetime' and it gives Cena a chance at redemption by having what the Rock wants most. Also puts a little doubt in people's minds as to who will win.

Everyone has thought that rock would win the belt since he said that, but no one thinks he'd win a rematch with Cena at Mania. Adds a level of intrigue.

I would want Cody Rhodes to win the Royal Rumble Match because with Cody in the Rumble, he has performed so well in Royal Rumble matches especially in 2009 he lasted something of like 40 minutes and in 2010 he lasted like 20 minutes and in 2012 he lasted the longest along with The Miz, and in 2013 I would give him a high spot in the Rumble like maybe numbers 1 through 4, I would give him the #3 slot making him the 3rd entrant in the Rumble and winning it similar like how HBK did in 1995 when everyone thinks Cody is gone, he isn't, skins the cat back in the ring and eliminates whoever from behind to win the Rumble and go on to Mania 29 in the main event

That would literally be the worst main event I could possibly think of involving the Rock. I would actively stop watching if they did that.

If there were to be any surprise entrants in the 2013 Royal Rumble Match, then my opinion of surprise entrants that no one would see coming in the Royal Rumble would be Kevin Nash as a surprise entrant, and Booker T also in the Rumble along with Jerry the King Lawler, and leaves room for one more guy that being someone who I think will make their return at the Rumble and it would be shocking especially if it turned out to be Jeff Hardy making his return to WWE or even Kurt Angle as a surprise entrant

The Rock - then he can go on to win the championship at Mania only to have the MITB winner cash it in on him so he can say he won the championship again.

Others I could see making one offs - Road Dog, DDP, Vader

Vader as a surprise entrant would be awesome, imagine if a diva entered the Royal Rumble again, if Beth entered or Kharma again

John Morrison.. Crowd would go nuts once that intro hit, a few big spots etc etc. leading into feud with someone like the Miz etc.

Ric Flair.... Woooo, would be the biggest pop of the night.. A few chops on everyone. some stylin', a little profilin'.. Quick elimination by a monster heel. Gold

DDP.. Bang!, a couple of diamon cutters.. Cheap elimination

Bobby Lashley is always a possibility, but I think they'd fear the pop wouldn't meet the required mark for such a huge return... And they would re-introduce him in a main even match, not the rumble.'

And the Brooklyn Brawler, of course :p

Owen hart would be a surprise entrant

Was that a joke? Because if it was, it was really bad bad joke :banghead:

I believe that The Rock will be in the Royal Rumble. Another choice would be Chris Jericho or Vader. Even Ric Flair or Shawn Michaels could make an appearence! Or what about Stone Cold Steve Austin? He could be one, too.
A less likely choice is Sting. I would be very suprised if Sting would meke an unexpectd apperreance at the Royal Ruble.

I hope in 2013 we get to see Sgt Slaughter, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Superfly Jimmy Snuka, American Dream Dusty Rhodes and Million Dollar Men Ted Dibiase. I mean WWE never use these enough...

Jim Morrison - Definately a possiblity. Made no secret of his desire to return one day.
Vader - Looked good enough the other week, another return welcome.
Brock Lesnar - Could start his RTWM.
Undertaker - See above.

Hopefully there won't be any surprise entrants. Everyone knows those guys have no shot of winning the rumble because they get eliminated about 1-2 minutes later. However since this will never happen....

My bet is on Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, and Xpac next year.

I'd say
Flair: Rumors of his return have been running rampant. Makes sense for him to return then.

The Rock: As I don't see him winning The WWE title on a PPV (If rumors of Lesnar vs Rock for the WWE Title are true of course) so this would be the best way for him to have that match and then (As somebody else said have the MITB winner cash in on the winner and Rock & Lesnar never come back and retire from wrestling).

As things stand these seem to be the logical ones but the ones I would love to see But none of them will happen are:
Goldberg
HBK
SCSA

If the WWE wanted a really loud pop and shock the crowd, they should have Edge be part of it. I think if they had him come between #10 and#15, they could provide an environment that is safe enough for him to eliminate a couple guys. Plus it wouldn't ruin the whole concept of the Rumble by having him in one of the final slots.

If booked properly, they would have Christian in the ring at the same time. They eliminate everybody in the ring except for each other and give everyone a "photo op" like they used to back in the day.

They would need someone like Lesnar or someone other heel that needs to be hated even more to come out shortly thereafter and eliminate Edge, causing that wrestler to draw even more heat. Who wouldn't hate someone for eliminating Edge after he had been out of the ring for over a year?

As long as they could keep Edge safe from a crazy bump, I think it make for an awesome moment.

I agree in the sense that if Edge returned it would be ace and he would get a huge pop, I agree that he should do the thing with Christian and Hell I agree that a heel should eliminate him but I see one problem getting eliminated in a Rumble with out bumping would be hard as hell so I don't think its worth the risk UNLESS they find away of having him eliminate himself or have him "cheated" (For example pulled from under the bottom rope). But overall Edge coming back for the Rumble would be Moment of the year.

I would like to see either Bryan or Jericho win it. A win at the Rumble and him actually being in the last hour of wrestlemania and winning the championship would be huge for Bryan way more than Jericho.

With how wwe is now, here is how I see it really happening next year. John Cena enters #1 and the odds are against him. Cena goes on to eliminate every single person to enter the rumble (make it 40 superstars again to make Cena look as good as possible). Then at wrestlemania have Cena defeat the champion faster than Sheamus beat Bryan.

This would make Vince McMahon very happy since John Cena is clearly his favorite wwe superstar ever.

The Miz- Never won a rumble, needs a big push if WWE wants to make him a main eventer again, could also be a good opponent for Jericho or Sheamus at Wrestlemania 29 for the WHC.

Daniel Bryan- Emerging superstar, just needs a one big boost like a rumble win and should be all established, it can also setup Bryan vs Jericho or Bryan vs Orton for the WHC at WM 29.

CM Punk- Never won a rumble, Punk wins the rumble and challenges Sheamus for WHC at WM 29.

Certainly open regards to who can win.

There are many contenders including Rhodes, Barret, Ziggler, The miz, Ryback, Lesnar, Punk, Bryan even the Rock could win. I would say it is still to early to predict the winner. Obviously a lot can change and the winner of the MITB briefcase would change everything has those two individuals would get a push and would probably not need the RR.

Right now, I'm going to say Barret. I think he will come back and be really dominant. I have a feeling the WWE will be really high on him and give him a solid push and a world title. He could face Orton/Sheamus/Cena/Punk at WM and would all provide solid matches with good stories.

My top 3 choices for the next Royal Rumble winner:

Cody Rhodes
You could maybe have Orton de-throne Sheamus or the next WHC at Survivor Series or TLC and have Cody win the Rumble at number 1, Orton retaining at EC, Cody attacks him and chooses him for Mania, have Cody win at Mania and have the longest reign in history, becoming the next Bobby Roode.

Chris Jericho
Give him his last hurrah because this is most likely his last run. If he can pull off a victory in the Rumble match, maybe move him to SD and face the WHC at WrestleMania. I would make him win and lose the title at Summerslam or HIAC and leave after failing to win the title in December or January.

Wade Barrett
I would definitely have him be the next RR winner, because he was in my top 3 to win the match in 2012. If he doesn't win at MITB, keep him relevant to become the next WWE Champion at EC, cashing in his opportunity earlier and maybe faking an injury to vacate the title and have The Rock win the title at WM by defeating Lesnar, Punk or Cena and have Barrett regain the title at Extreme Rules in a surprise match.

:wtf:

The Rock has just announced in an in-ring segment between him, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan that he got the word he will be the #1 contender for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble 2013.

In one hand is good to see The Rock fighting for the belt but at the same time I think it's a bad move because it sends a bad message for the WWE Superstars, after all, why work if you know you can't main-event the Rumble? Or even be considered for that role? It doesn't really matter what you do until then because it's all decided beforehand...

What are your toughts? I'm not saying it won't be awesome, because it can only be but I have some doubts if it's a good way of booking a championship match.

yea would have much rather seen a Part-Time legend wrestle for the main prize in WWE, than a guy like Dolph Ziggler or Cody Rhodes......pointless and stupid for him to get the strap but excited to see him on TV again and hopefully against Punk at the Rumble.

Is this obvious to anyone else as Rock wins at RR 13, Cena wins the Rumble match...

Cena vs. Rock 2. Cena defeats the Rock and wins the title, all is right with Vince's world again...

Although the WWE seems to be doing some poor booking through out the year, they seem to book these year long sometimes 2-3 year long stories that come to fruition at WM.

For example HBK vs. Taker, HBK vs. Taker 2 and HBK is retired. HHH wants to do what HBK couldn't, HHH loses only for HHH vs Taker again with HBK involved to close off a four year story. Rock costs Cena the title to Miz, Rock defs Cena in grudge match. Cena goes on to WM 29 and beats Rock for the belt....

you guys don't get it... it is a perfect set-up.. tell me, when was the last time the WWE championship was relevant in the ROYAL RUMBLE PPV.. it isn't!!!

i still remember the last time before wrestlemania 27 that the wwe championship was contested by The Miz and Jerry Lawler.. c'mon man..

for me ROYAL RUMBLE 2013 will be one of the biggest rumble in recent times..

I see both sides of the fence, i mean it gives attention and can elevate the champion but at the same time, devalues the challengers, i mean unless your John Cena, CM Punk, Big Show or on the most outside of chances D Bryan, you aint getting the title till after WM 29 with the part timer in the spotlight.

I woulda preferred to see, Rock go after punk about the Ass kissing comments in his shoot promo. And then do a Shawn michaels ala HHH style for Summerslam 2002. Have the Rock say "ive got to go back to hollywood to take care of some business but i should be back around say THE ROYAL RUMBLE..... *Wait for pop* Hold onto your title belt Punk, hold it tight, because if your still the champion, im coming for you. IF YA SMEEEEEELLLLLL"
