This thread has turned into: "WWE HATES DA BLACK MAN" thread. Quite a few African Americans have become some of the most respected wrestlers of all time: Junkyard Dog, Ron Simmons(Farooq), Booker T, The Rock and others. Don't turn this into "WWE IS Racist" just because your favorite wrestler, who happens to be black, isn't carrying the title because he botches promos and doesn't spark the interest of the majority of fans. The WWE is a business, so they put the strap on whoever is going to garner them the most interest, or if they feel like it will benefit them in the future.

There is a lot of white guys who never got a title shot, won titles during "stupid" gimmicks, and just downright never got into main event scene because they didn't spark that kind of interest.

I respect the hell out every wrestler, regardless of race, and i feel like it is such a cop out to say that the WWE is racist just because they don't push a person, even though it's for obvious reasons.

Guys will you please get your history correct. I was always a big NWA/WCW fan. During the transition, Ron Simmons won the WCW title in 1992 over Big Van Vader, and during the same month Masahiro Chono was the NWA Champion. Get it right please.

Lulz. So are we in some alternate universe now? The writers who are SOLELY responsible for the success of this heel turn are now somehow going to fuck it up? You can't write a facial expression which is one of the things Truth is absolutely dreadful at. You can't write delivery which Truth fucks up a lot, though the good outweighs the bad. You can, however, write good promos which is what they have been doing and is the only reason Truth is relevant right now.

Absolutely none of this is Truth's own doing. He owes every bit of his paycheck to the creative team right now because they are doing the one thing that is keeping this heel turn from going down the drain; keeping him out of the ring. Truth is a fucking disaster in the ring at this stage in his career and when everyone sees that, he's going to lose a lot of momentum.

So no, if this ultimately fails, it will be Truth's own doing. You can't write someone into being a good wrestler, you just have to be a good wrestler and Truth is absolutely not a good wrestler.

Well since you made this about Orton... allow me to ask you something. Are you seriously believing the bullshit coming from your keyboard? You really think that Orton was handed everything to him? Why? Because his family was in WWE to help him? Ok, well if that's your belief then why hasn't Manu or Sim Snuka made it to the main event picture? Hell, why don't they have a job? Why isn't Jimmy and Jey Uso tag champions? Why haven't any of the former Hart Dynasty been seen since god knows when? And why do you think Orton is TRULY being pushed?

Do you want the truth? Truth IS that Orton can work a match and a crowd better than a majority of the monkeys on the wwe roster. Orton has the look, the mic skills, and the in-ring psychology to make him a hit. Hart Dynasty and the rest of the next gen superstars are simply good in the ring or on the mic, except for Rhodes who is like Orton and ahead of the pack.

As for your little "R-truth is the first African American NWA Champion", how about you do some damn research. Ron Simmons won the NWA in WCW a LONG time ago. Way before R-Truth was even wrestling. And then you say that he wasn't a mid-carder in TNA? PLEASE! After his transitional title reign when TNA was under the NWA umbrella, TNA used R-Truth as nothing but a put over star. They even put him with BG James, who is Road Dogg btw. And then, after that, they teamed him up with Pacman Jones and made a mock out of him until he finally grew a set, said fuck it, and left to WWE.

Little kid, the next time you want to spit some "facts" make sure that they are indeed facts or you'll just be run down like a mobile home in an Alabama Tornado.

Im afraid you did not get your facts right either my friend.
He is the 1st african-american to win a world title recognised by wwe, which was infact the wcw heavyweight title not the nwa heavyweight title. http://www.accelerator3359.com/Wrestling/titles/nwaworld.html, This is a list of nwa title holders dating back to Orville Brown, Ron Simmons name is not on this list Ron Killings name is.
Getting back on topic R-Truth is on a roll as of late he has done everything great since his heel turn accept for the bottlenose comment lol.
I can see him getting a shot at the title then being screwed by a returning JoMo. I think Truth can put a great feud together with Cena, ok the matche wont be amazing but the backstory and promos will more than make up for it.
I think big Zeke Jackson has the best chance of becoming the 1st African-American to become the 1st Wwe champion Booker T was also a World Champ while on smackdown as King Booker.

R-truth is a better wrestler than Cena and Orton. Look up some of his matches with A.J styles, hell even one with Wade Barrett. Cena has a fan base full of kids. Orton, theres nothing really spectacular about him. Wew 3rd generation superstar that had everything handed to him boo hoo. Hes a horrible face. What great match has Orton ever had that he wasnt carried in? The match against christian was ALRIGHT. In my opinion R-truth isnt a mid carder never shouldve been. He is the first African American NWA world champion. That belt is held in high regard being held by the likes of Rick Flair and a few others. He wasnt used right at first, just like he wasnt used right his first run with the WWE from 1999-2001 They paired him up with a junkie Road dogg. R-Truth isnt 40, he just turned 39. Christian is 37. Not much of a big difference there.

Wow. Yes R truth is a great wrestler but he connot be compared to Orton or Cena. Cenas fans are kids, women and some men but he works the ppl who hate him the most, they are the ones whos pay to boo him, no wrestler ever works the fans like Cena. As for Orton if he is soo bad why did he get forced to turn face because hes sooo over with the crowd? He is one of the best. How can you say that he got where he is today because of his father and grandfather? Orton is just as good as Cena in the ring and on the mic, Both men have had great matches. Orton is a great wrestler, his wrestling skills can be compared to stone cold, soo the best ever scsa shit too? His face turn was the best disciccion to happen this year. The crowd goes crazy for him just like cena, without getting booed.

So no, if this ultimately fails, it will be Truth's own doing. You can't write someone into being a good wrestler, you just have to be a good wrestler and Truth is absolutely not a good wrestler.

This. You can have one of the most unrealistic gimmicks in all of sports entertainment (Undertaker's zombie gimmick, Orton's snake impersonation) and still get over with the crowd if you know what the hell you are doing. That's not on the writers. That's on the superstars, like R-Truth, and if he can sell himself well.

Personally I don't see R-Truth carrying himself up to the Main Event scene, but stranger things have happened. R-Truth was probably one of the worst faces I have ever seen get on the microphone. Of course turning him heel would be a major improvement, look at what kind of reaction he was getting talking to JoMo in a borefest, and then see the reaction he recieved when he jumped him. The fans needed it, because Truth, honestly, was dull.

Now the question is if Truth can keep up the heel promos and not screw up what the creative staff has given him. I don't think so, because Truth, as much as I like him in the ring, just doesn't get my attention on the mic for extended periods of time.

I am seriously liking R-Truth as a heel, so I hope the creative team doesn't drop the ball with him (they've done A LOT of ball-dropping since 2002).

I don't think he'll get a WWE title run, but he could be a good US Champ. If you time it right, he could win the title, then have to face John Morrison when he comes back.

Im afraid you did not get your facts right either my friend.

I wouldnt pay attention to the haters bro. Austin criticized those horrible writers in WWE last year. If R-Truth doesn't succeed its on them. YOU CANT WRITE SOMEONE A BULLSHIT JOKE LIKE "BOTTLE NOSE" It doesnt matter if its a good or bad delivery. Its just a horrible fucking joke. Point ,blank period. Its almost as if theyre deliberately setting him up for failure. Giving him shitty lines to have a reason to release him and say he couldnt get over with the crowd.

no they wont drop the ball on him at least not until a year, because i believe he can hold the ball and run with it with out any fumbles. hes great on the mic, hes pretty good wrestler, and his look is the best for a heel. right now in my opinion he just beat cm punk as the top heel. truth is awsome as a heel, hes entertaining, i love his promos, '' conspiracy
C-O-N....spiracy''

Did you hear that heat he got tonight after attacking Rey? lol Rtruth is on fire.

Everything about R-Truth tonight was spot on, his mic work, the way he attacked Rey & the way he clearly appeared psycotic without him just going 'I'm mad me HAR HAR HAR'

I know there's been a ton of talk about his heel turn and all that and to my surprise most of the talk has been positive. Aside from the fact that he has turned, what do you think of this character now? The "heel R-Truth"? I'm currently making this thread as I'm watching this moron prance around the ring in a confederacy outfit screaming about conspiracies. I think it's lightyears better than this guy coming out screaming "WHATS UP XD!" but I really think this new character sucks too. This whole "little Jimmy" thing is embarrassing to watch. What the fuck is little jimmy?

I asked like a million questions in there, answer whichever you want.

I don't mind it. He's making me laugh and I was gasping when I saw him come out in that outfit in amazement.

"Little Jimmy" I think represents the WWE universe/fans. Plus since he's crazy it goes with his gimmick. I don't think it's "embarrassing". Remember, this is wrestling and WWE. It's ridiculous.

I first saw Truth in April of 2000 at a Raw show in Greensboro, NC. He was jerking the curtain. He rapped on the way to the ring and put on a pretty decent match. I was entertained, but knew he was gonna join club future endeavors sooner or later. That happened, of course, and I did not see him again till he was on TNA when they started out and i loved his "the man is keeping me down conspiracy theory" gimmick. Its cool to see that WWE creative is embracing this cuz if i had to see him jump around to the ring and rap that tired ass song again i would have kicked in my tv screen.Honestly I think this direction was a good move for Ron Killing's carreer. I was pretty sure he was gonna be gone by the year's end.

I like Truth in this role. It fits him better than a face role. He is able to do what he wants with this character and make it his own. Like with the technical difficulties they had last week...he ran with that with the whole "conspiracy" angle he is doing.

Truth was (in my opinion) in danger of being out of a job. I think if this wouldn't have taken off, he would've been buried and then shown the door or dropped back into loer mid-card status.

It would probably be better if WWE wasn't PG, and R-Truth could be more hardcore... on the other hand, it would probably be better if it was not R-Truth.

I didn't like the thing when he came out at the start of Raw, all it did was make him look stupid, for me things like that don't really help him look credible as a main eventer or a number one contender. Also it is seen as a stereotype of black people, something I also do not like, all that "little Jimmy" stuff is stupid also, I don't particularly understad what it means.

R Truth cracks me up every week.. tonight when he came out in that outfit, i literally "Laughed Out Loud." I thought it was good stuff, as far as "Little Jimmy" goes, I'd say it's probably aimed at all the kids for loving Cena.. I believe he called the "Father" last week "Big Jimmy."

and plus like someone already said, with Truth going "crazy," it also makes it sound like "Little Jimmy" is the voices in his head.. the way he holds his head down, mumbling stuff.. like i said, funny stuff.. I'm loving it, probably the only entertaining thing WWE has has going at the moment or has done in a long time.. I'm usually bored watching Raw, and can't wait to see what Truth does next :)

R-Truth is a breath of fresh air.

I love it.. I loved laughing with Michael Cole when he entered the arena. I would much rather see R-Truth fight for the title than The Miz again...

R-Truth is reminding me a weeee bit of Stone Cold right now just by the simple fact that hei s a bit of a loose cannon.

The Truth was the man in the opening, middle, and end.
1. He was great on the stick in the opening, he had SCSA LOL hard.
2. He was a scream in the Obama segment.
3. He gave a good match in the main event and even won, so what if it was by DQ.
I think the Truth is going to become the leader of a new group ( Nation type of group ), especially if CM Punk is gone in September.

I agree R Truth is great. I always look forward to how he is going to top himself each and every week. They should give him the strap just once, even if it is for just a month.

He's one of the few reasons I watch Raw, now. He's the best heel I've seen since forever. Little Jimmy = Cena fans/the average child fan. Can you name a better heel in today's WWE universe? Miz is boring & annoying like John Cena, CM Punk isn't being used right, and Alberto Del Rio isn't as entertaining.

Let me tell you, heel R-Truth is one of the best heel's on this show in a long while.

His rambling insanity, he talk's to himself, his conspiracy theory promo's, and the thing tonight about the Boat.

Heel R-Truth could go places in this company, the fan's dont like him, but they can't help to find him hilarious. He's undoutably one of the best heel's today, not only in WWE, but in wrestling. He's so unpredictable it's make him even more hilarious.

I don't have any problem with him being in the main event picture, but I seriously sometimes cringe at some of the brutally lame shit he says on the microphone.

One little modification they could do to R-Truth's gimmick that would make all his rants and nonsense make sense. Turn him in to the WWE's very first open crack smoker.

They could even screw him out of his WWE title shot by saying he failed the wellness policy drug test. That would really help his conspiracy theories.
