R-Truth goes from nearly future endeavored to a main event title match at a ppv his heel persona is something different which the wwe needs and is gradually getting better he's been a face for so long that switching to a heel is something that's gonna take a lil getting used too the spotlights on him now so he definitely deserves the attention he's getting

For the first couple of weeks, I was really into the "new" R-Truth. He was angry, violent, and threatening. Things have... changed.

He's sort of a joke now. Seriously, he is. He's gone from angry, to insane. The guy is completely nuts, and cannot be taken seriously. He is ranting about conspiracies, dressing up in costumes, and talking to himself.

Prior to losing his mind, and right after being the goofy rapper, I was beginning to consider this guy a legitimate threat. I think the competition was as well (kayfabe, obviously). Don't get me wrong, he's probably the most entertaining thing on Raw right now. However, after Cena beats him at Capitol Punishment, will anyone buy into Truth? Or will he continue to be some sort of mental patient, making a fool out of himself week in and week out? If he keeps going nuts, I'm fine with it -- it's entertaining. But, I probably won't care as much either.

I think what will help sell Truth more is if he does win the title at Capitol Punishment. But on Raw the next night when Truth comes out to celebrate his victory, as someone already thought up as an idea to further move along his conspiracy storyline, have the Raw GM chime go off and says that Truth failed the drug test taken before the match the previous night and therefore stripped of the title and Cena is champion again. It continues the feud and Truth's storyline/character.

One little modification they could do to R-Truth's gimmick that would make all his rants and nonsense make sense. Turn him in to the WWE's very first open crack smoker.

They could even screw him out of his WWE title shot by saying he failed the wellness policy drug test. That would really help his conspiracy theories.

Are you outta your mind?!?

Not even TNA would make a storyline about someone being a crack smoker. This is PG WWE T.V. so yeah no hardcore drug storyline will be happening. I can't really believe I'm even responding to such nonsense.

Trust me this is the best thing going on Raw, and I mean best!!! I'm so glade to see him doing his thing. If you look at the Promos he has cut, it is very very subliminal racism... like he drives some REAL points, and that makes him gain more heat cause when you look at the attendance its predominantly "WHITE." Now the Jimmy's i find being the "White" and the ones who cheer for the "White" (John Cena). Think about all of his recent promos. "Jimmy aint got no rhythm," "I'm a be a good ole boy and make Jimmy Happy," the whole promo at the beginning of raw tonight... seriously... TRUTH is basically taking everything from the Nation of Domination early days and mixing it with Brian Pillman and running with it in a genius way.

R-Truth made me laugh out loud tonight. He did look ridiculous and it was somewhat embarrassing at times, but it was something different and humorous. The character of R-Truth is just a crazy nut job. He has lost his mind. I like it. R-Truth is awesome.

I do have to say though that R-Truth could have also went a direction of smoking cigarettes and not being as ridiculous as he is, but no matter what direction they take it works because R-Truth needed something new and fresh.

R-Truth is one of the funniest WWE characters that I have seen in the past few years.

Racism!!! What a positive message for the kids!!! :icon_rolleyes:

This is why its being done this way so it doesn't look like a racism angle for the kids. Hence why the fan he sprayed with the drink last week was Black, but if this was not a PG era they would have pushed that button and he would be able to say it without it being subliminal but I think he would have got the wrong kind of hate.

I like the way they are doing it though as instead of the colour issue its a popularity/merchandise and title shots issue. You will probably see people with signs soon saying I'm a little Jimmy or something with Little Jimmy cause VKM sees only $$$ when the fans catch on to something

I hope they make an R-Trurh shirt with his saying "Dont boo me, you should be booing yourselves" My favourite saying of his :worship:

R-Truth is a crazy conspiracy theorist who thinks that he deserves to be a World Champion but is being held down by conspiracy. No one else sees R-Truth in that way and are wondering what the fuck he is talking about. That is the basic premise of his character which is being somewhat exaggerated in the way in which R-Truth is talking and even dressing up.

I do not think that there is anything wrong with R-Truth's character. He is being unintentionally hilarious in the way most conspiracy theorists are and there is no knowing what he will do next. He is not obviously doing all this without purpose. In fact it has been strongly suggested that he is doing all this to perhaps distract his opponents and make them take him lightly in an actual match. It could be that he is actually playing mind games with his opponents.

So far it is working for him. He has beaten Rey Mysterio at Over The Limit, he tricked Cena and got a countout victory over him. These two guys are possibly the biggest two draws on RAW and so I would have to say that this character is working pretty well for him.

I don't post often, I've been around for a while reading through countless different threads but reading this thread has just made me realise how old I've become......

You youn'guns really don't know what the "little jimmy" segment was about? Seriously?

He was taking the piss out of red-neck Americans, common red-neck name, according to Hollywood too 'little jimmy'

He also touched on blacks being oppressed, and with no disrespect intended, slavery!

I really can't understand why WWE is PG now if the PG fans can't understand this gimmick

I won't be replying any time soon again, just had to get this off my chest.

I didn't like the thing when he came out at the start of Raw, all it did was make him look stupid, for me things like that don't really help him look credible as a main eventer or a number one contender. Also it is seen as a stereotype of black people, something I also do not like, all that "little Jimmy" stuff is stupid also, I don't particularly understad what it means.
I think this is actually pointing out the stereotype and not just being it. As a heel r truth is subverting such things by overdoing it. He can't out and out say 'he make the black boy shuck and jive just to not be good enough for the title' so for how far he can go it is good enough. Maybe not great, but how would you do it better?

Little jimmy == patronizing the fans and keeping on with the shuck and jiving.

It's not too hard to follow.

This bothers me, I really don't want to get into why. But why go with actual drug use when you can have stuff just go wrong w/o him going that far. Give me a pg equivalent even.

At first, I thought the gimmick was contrived and forced, but I have to admit R-Truth is picking up steam. Not every person is able to bring off something like this, y'know. When I saw him walk out in a Confederate Army outfit, I was thinking: "What now?".....but was pleasantly surprised how well he handled it. The man is a talented performer, there's no doubt.

The best thing about last night's performance was the irony. We saw The Miz trying to reach Truth through words, looking to calm him down long enough to make the two of them into a viable tag team. But you've got to consider: When Miz is acting as the voice of reason, you know something over-the-top is happening.

Truth's program should continue.....because they've got the right guy to play it.

I have to admit this gimmick is growing on me for sure. I thought it was stupid for weeks but last night he really made the best of it. Last night he was pure gold in the opening skit with Austin. If Stone Cold was laughing when R Truth was dancing around in a marching band type way.

I think R-Truth's current gimmick is amazing, and easily the best storyline of 2011.
Last night on Raw, I almost died laughing, that was genius.
Not to mention R-Truth has an awesome theme song.
Saying I would be disappointed if the writers drop the ball with this storyline would be the understatement of the year.

I understand where people are coming from saying they liked Truth better when he was angry, but fact is, Truth doesn't need to be angry right now. He got what he wanted, he's in the WWE Championship picture and has a main event match on PPV against Cena, plus he already owns a one-on-one victory over the champion. It's simply a progression from anger. I'm certain that Truth's anger will return should he lose at Capitol Punishment, and I'm sure he'll continue to spread word of a conspiracy theory out against him. It's simply storyline progression.

R-Truth had me LMAO when he came out in the confederacy suit & started talking about nothing good came from the south and he was seceding from the WWE, but still wants his title match :lmao:. I hope he wins the title at the PPV. I hope they continue this for the rest of this year. I want Truth to interact with Kofi next not a feud just walking in the back they cross paths & R-Truth calls Kofi out for being happy 24/7 & never getting the big title, always having the U.S title & tells Kofi to stop smiling all the damn time, reminds him of what he can do when he's angry. I want R-Truth to get his conspiracy talk into Kofi because Kofi is R-Truth's oppisite.

I'm glad to see R-Truth has found his stride in a funny heel character. He's been funny every week with a good reaction from the crowd. I wonder how many R-Truth babyface haters are now onboard with the heel 1. How many people wanted to see this guy fired because he was boring/annoying, blah blah that are now on his side? Lots!

Funny how a character change can suddenly change peoples minds. It's also funny how some people are so much better with being a heel or face than the other.

Hey, guys, does R Truth in a way kind of remind you of Ledger's the Joker in TDK? I mean one minute he's silly and light hearted next he's cold blooded and menacing. And like The Joker, R Truth is very unpredictable and kind of toys with the emotions of his enemies right now. He makes you think one thing and does the next. Imo definitely a worthy villain against SuperCena. In fact, this might be something Cena has never dealt with. He's dealt with arrogant beefcakes, crafty manipulators, pretty boys, and big guys, but he's never dealt with a man who wants to watch the world burn. So this is going to be cool.

Like I said, with some of the wrestlers getting inspired by comics, I wonder Truth is basing his character off of The Joker.
