Truth is a great heel because he doesn't give a shit and thinks of himself as an actor. It was about time, but it wouldn't be right to cut him out of ER for the likes of Jomo IMO. I honestly think JoMo is a bit of a closet homo
so, being a homosexual means you shouldn't get pushed? Thank you for your opinion 1965.

I think this is going to lead somewhere. A week ago it was "DIZ IS MORRIZON'S PUSH BUT HE HAS TEH HEAT BAKSTAGE!!!" Now it's "TRUTH IS TEH SUX I'M GLAD HE'S OUT OF TEH MAIN BUT I DON LIEK HIM AZ TEH HEEL AND AL TEH TIME HE GETZ".

Just see what happens. things change.

I think there's a lot of overthinking and overreacting going on.
Truth was a good guy, now he's a bad guy. Everyone got that part, right?
See, because that is what happened. Do all bad guys go bad in the flip of a switch?
Apparently, in some people's lives, they do. Truth slid down into the bad place.
It took time. And it had sense to it. He played his part to perfection. It wasn't a hard role.
This isn't the goddamned Oscars.

I thought it was a great heel turn. I though Truth knocked it out of the park. The acting between the first couple strikes was great in my opinion.

My real concern for Truth was what the audience was chanting and correct me if I'm wrong but I heard "That's not Legal" as in smoking indoors in public spaces isn't legal. I'm wondering if someone is going to come down on the WWE for breaking the law and Truth pays the price for it.

OMG!! That was.....:worship: THE BEST HEEL TURN IN A WHILE, R-Truth made me love him tonight, that was deep, I'm black so I took the heel turn a little different, than most fans would, he was saying "WHERE MY TITLE AT?!!" Now that's an actual G straight up thug, they better keep him like that FOR THE REST OF THIS YEAR!! I actually felt R-Truth's frustrations through the TV :) All we need is a different theme song. What would make this even better...Kofi turning into a educated brotha character....cuz u know what's scarier that a ghetto black dude, a educated black dude :p I have too many ideas about pushing Kofi & R-Truth to the main event :) DON'T RUIN THIS WWE!!

I loved it... it did go on too long and the beginning sucked... I liked how they showed him drinking the water, but the smoking sounded corny at first...

Right when I saw Truth come out, I told my girl they should turn him heel and do something with him... so the turn was pretty cool...

As others have stated, smoking has been banned in a lot of public places... where I live it is illegal to smoke in your car if you have a child under twelve in the car and they are even trying to ban smoking in bars and clubs... which really sucks because I am a smoker...

I know smoking is banned in PG movies too and they are pushing for smoking to earn a movie a R rating too...

Where people have compares smoking to Austin drinking... it's the second hand smoke bullshit that makes it different...

Overall, I liked it... curious to see if there will be any backlash...

Atleast Truth is interesting now...

Amazing Heel turn and Ill say that I didn't really see it coming. I thought at first Morrison was going to turn heel because he was making douche-ish comments towards truth about the water bottle and smoking. Then when Morrison won I was thinking "well maybe they just had him job last week to scare him into behaving better backstage, Truth gets sent back to midcard jobber status"... and then the heel turn from Truth came.

Can't wait to see where they take Truth from here. I went from not giving a turd about him to being somewhat interested in him.

Hmm, I'm interested to see what type of character Truth is going to make for his heel turn. I saw a hint of a possible split personality character or one of those villain characters that feels remorse after doing something terrible. I'm pretty interested to see where he goes with this. anything is better than another pretty boy 'I'm too sexy for myself' heel character.

I would love to see Truth become a bweener (Not sure what the term is) where he comes out, does his "Whats Up!" does his Heel antics, and then shows some sort of remorse, and tries to make up for his actions, but goes onto create even more controversy. I like where this is headed :)

I have to admit that I am pretty intrigued to see where this new Truth character goes. While this was going on on Raw, I didn't wanna turn away! Haha. I thought it was kind of odd that Morrison mentioned Truth smoking out of nowhere in the opening promo, but I didn't know it would lead to all that. So I guess Truth's new gimmick will be he always needs a smoke and a bottle of water? What was the water for, just to cool off, or to be a smart ass? Didn't quite get that. And does anyone know if Truth actually smokes or no. I saw someone else mention that they heard the audience yelling, "think of the children." I heard it too, and thought that was GOLD. Gotta love it when the heel turn upsets the kids haha. Really solidifies it as a successful turn in my opinion.

so beating people up is ok but SMOKING! OMG THAT'S SO MUCH WORSE! It's not like they're saying "hey kids have a puff" , I see people smoking everyday?! If their parents let them watch grown men 'fight' with each other what's wrong with smoking

What the fuck does it matter if he's smoking or not? He just went HEEL. That already makes him the BAD guy... not to mention, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Smackdown run an angle in the summer of 2008 about drug addict vs. straight edge with the addict as a face?

And now they put a guy who's simply smoking a cigarette as a heel and you all piss and moan about it? Really? Are you that short minded or are you just desperate for attention?

As for the turn itself, I thought it was great. R-Truth shouldn't have been taken out of the title match (especially if Morrison is taking his spot) but the after match turn was perfect. People who were saying it was too long are probably the same people who applauded Miz's 20 minute destruction of Daniel Bryan back in September... only R-Truth's was way better.

Overall I liked the heel turn. As much as I hate race, he will garner a lot of heat on racism alone. Being referred to as a street thug, gangsta, criminal, or a hip hop refugee (as the Miz so elequently stated). He showed a different side where he wasn't pandering for cheap pops anymore. He was this vicious, deranged, frustrated deviant who took it out on a former friend. Not only did he destroy JoMo, Truth blamed him for it. I thought that was a stroke of genius. The smoking was icing on the cake. I don't know if they will continue with the smoking, but I can't wait to see next week. Fatal 4way? I doubt it since I believe they have a PPV with said name right? Im pretty sure, but not 100%. Anyway, my theory is Truth will somehow cost Morrison his chance to win and Cena will get screwed over and the Miz will escape the cage to retain his title.

I actually enjoyed the heel turn.

We've only seen R-Truth as a face, and honestly, it is bland. Time to ditch the cheesy music and change how he is perceived.

Having him light up a smoke was funny. I am more interested in R-Truth now than ever. WWE can run with this and push the envelope a bit.

R-Truth's character was stale and boring. He needed a switch, and they pulled it off really well last night. For the first time ever, I'm actually looking forward to what the guy does for the next few weeks.

Since he's a heel now, I think he should repeat his Green Bay gaffe each week. Do his "What's Up, [insert city here]?" only have him call out the wrong city every time.

If last week and this week was all about setting up R-Truth as heel, that's a lot of work for someone nobody seems to care about.

First impression I didn't care for the turn, but I'm willing to see how they follow up with it next week before I shit all over it or praise it.

I have never liked R Truth, Ron Killings, or what ever he wants to be called. Monday night was a joke. You knew as soon as Morrison came out R Truth was going to turn heel. I personally think that he will be one of the wrestlers getting the pink slip here in a few weeks.

R Truth's heel turn was tremendous and the fact that people are making such a big fucking deal over something as small as smoking a cig makes it that much better. I guarantee that many of those kids in attendance have at least one parent or some type of close relative that smokes. It is not a major thing at all. Shit, just a couple weeks before this Austin was in the ring pounding back beers.

I also thought the opening promo was >EXECUTED< terribly.

On topic,Truth could barely ever have people hang on his promos past yelling *what's up*
Instead of a corny rapper gimmick that has held down many superstars for decades like so recently himself and JTG,he executed an amazeing HEEL turn and BOY OH BOY did he get HEAT.

I Like this. This is the best HEEL turn I have seen in a LONG time.

P.S.
I hope Truth keeps that running knee he hit Jomo with twice.
That knee had some authoritah!

I agree, Truth has a lot of haters and they won't even admit that he done damn good in that. Best part of the show in my opinion.

And did he really break the law? Herbal cigarettes are commonly used for effect in theater performances, and are perfectly legal. I bet that is what he used.

A quick clarification about those of us wondering about the smoking thing: It's not that we think R-truth smoking a cigarette SHOULD be a big deal. It's that there ARE people out there for whom R-truth smoking a cigarette IS a big deal. The anti-smoking lobby is LOUD, and generally takes offense with ANY smoking on television (it even shows up in ratings next to 'strong language' or 'adult situations'.) They hold sway with a lot of big companies, companies like Mattel. So wondering if there's going to be a fallout from R-truth lighting up is reasonable.

I thought R-truth's heel turn was great. It wasn't just a 'fakeout your tag partner' random attack. He turned on his friend only after his friend had genuinely betrayed him. Truth showed that emotion in his vicious, domineering attacks. Honestly I was kind of shocked by how well he acted out the whole thing, it was far and away the best thing I've ever seen from R-truth.

All of a sudden the triple threat that seemed so painfully obvious last week becomes, if just as obvious (Truth costs Morrison the win,) a nifty way to launch two feuds out of a single PPV main event.

The following is from TMZ.com:

Cig-Sucking WWE Star -- SMOKED by Tobactivist

WWE star R-Truth is taking serious heat for lighting up a cigarette on "RAW" last night ... in front of a row of kids -- and now, the biggest anti-smoking activist on the planet is DEMANDING he apologize.

The drama began when Ron "R-Truth" Killings hit up the audience for a smoke ... and actually LIT UP right in front of them ... including several children.

But the on-screen cig-fest didn't sit so well with anti-smoking activist Patrick Reynolds (pictured right) -- Executive Director of TobaccoFree.org -- who has officially issued a challenge to the wrestler ... to publicly apologize for the smoking stunt.

Reynolds -- ironically the grandson of tobacco magnate R.J. Reynolds -- tells TMZ, "For him to smoke in front of [children] is irresponsible. At best, it's thoughtless, and at worst, if he calculated appealing to kids by posing as a bad-boy outlaw, it's evil."

Reynolds adds, "If he wants help in quitting, I'll be happy to be his personal coach."

The WWE issued a statement to TMZ defending the cigarette incident -- saying, "The negative effect smoking has on one’s health and physical performance was a part of a storyline on last night’s Monday Night Raw. Negative depictions of tobacco use on television are not unusual and can be seen on other TV-PG shows."

I feel weird. Really weird. Why? Because for the first time ever, I'm looking forward to what R-Truth is going to be doing next week.

It was a glorious heel turn. At the start, I thought that Morrison might be turning. Look at what he was saying. Insulting his conditioning, saying he got lucky, etc. Either, that was WWE's intention, or Morrison is just atrocious on the mic and made some jokes sound sincere. In the post-match beatdown, I felt weird. It's like I could feel what R-Truth was going through, the idea of doing damage and not being able to reverse it. Kudos to Truth. It takes superb acting to pull that off.

As for the smoking thing, if you think it was bad or wrong, shut up. Shut the fuck up you moron. It was right in the given context. And considering that the 5 minutes previously he'd been beating his friend in the head repeatedly, I'd say something which ISN'T morally wrong and ISN'T illegal was perfectly fine.

All in all, a good turn from R-Truth. I'm going to go and watch some Ron Killings videos from TNA now to get in the mood for next week.

i hope it is the start of a heel turn, it would get him more publicity and get him into the main event or at least into the upper mid card level. He could build on his lost spot at extreme rules and feud with john morrison, they could put on great matches, they both use unorthodox offense.

That was great, best heel turn I have seen in quite some time. The WWE already said that it was their idea and I gotta say cudo's to them. I wonder how much it would cost them to do that because those fines don't come cheap. The audiences reaction was great to him smoking to, hearing the "That's Illegal" and the random people screaming "Think of the children" was icing to the cake.

I'm sure its gonna cause some controversy but its really not that big of a deal in the long run, I know people frown on smoking these days but at the end of the day it works. Eventually all of this will die down, it will be forgotten and hopefully Truth can capitalize on the momentum gained from his turn last night.
