Meilichia Tribute Thread

Justin doesn't want to discuss it and isn't going to discuss it anymore, Justin is very annoyed with Sly right now, and isn't going to respond to him any more tonight, cause Justin doesn't feel like being pissed off right now

Ironic at how we were just talking about Austin. It looks like the glass has shattered again.

Well, Justin said that Cena was a douchebag because he came back from injury and was immediately thrust back into the title picture after winning the Royal Rumble. Justin said that at least Triple H didn't do that.

I pointed out to Justin that Triple H was injured in May of 2001, came back two weeks before the Royal Rumble of 2002, won it, and then went on to win the Undisputed title at Wrestlemania 18 from Chris Jericho. It was the same thing, and the fact that Justin was complaining about Cena and praising Triple H for doing the same thing was humorous.

Ric Flair is one of the most respected wrestlers by fans and has achieved more in wrestling than what 97% of professional wrestlers ever will.

He just was pretty average in the ring doing it. He benefited from the territorial system and the fact that each promotion would have a big babyface to draw for their promotion and would always need a heel to pit the babyface against...which is where Flair came in. When put upon a national stage back in 1991 and 1992, Flair showed how overrated he was by his very poor drawing title reign, a reign that drew so poor that only 2 months after he won the title, by winning the Rumble in the most impressive fashion ever, the WWE took the title off of him and put it on Savage. That's how poor of a run Flair had.

I see

Flair was a huge draw in the South and other NWA territories and wasnt a huge name in the WWF territory which didnt = dollars which is the same way Hogan wouldnt have drawn a dime in the south at that time

Hogan could have drawn in the South just fine. Flair couldn't draw in the WWE, not because it was the North, but because when he was exposed to a national audience on a consistent basis, people saw how limited the so-called greatest wrestler in the world really was. Which is why he drew so poor.

We know Hogan could draw in the South. He did.

if poor buisness decisions hadnt been made the WWE still wouldnt be able to promote in the south Ric Flair was the draw in the south and as the NWA champ you have to be the best draw or you wouldnt be champ

Ric Flair in front of a national audience was on the verge of a nervous breakdown almost every night so those figures dont prove much about the real Ric Flair

when Hogan drew in the south it was long enough after Ric Flair and the NWA had cleared out that it was considerably different than the south Im talking about

I just explained that earlier.

Umm...a performer who's life is dependent upon entertaining live crowds who gets nervous on a national stage isn't exactly a great performer.

I mean, what if Gene Simmons of KISS got so nervous before a show that it impacted his performance. Would KISS still be as good live as they are?

It was the same people he was reaching.

Ric Flair loved working a crowd it was more than that, Flair was mentally out of it for a long time and just kept going out there because he loved the buisness and in a way needed it because really he couldnt do shit besides wrestle

Hogan drew in the south with WCW which was a Souther comapny so obviously the fans would show up if a Hogan led WWF would have come to the Carolinas or Virginia everyine there would wather watch Ric Flair take a shit than watch Hulk Hogan wrestle

why does it have to be ******ed?

Its ******ed, because Sly is acting like a hypocrite. I'm sorry Sly, I have the greatest amount of respect for you.. but it wasn't THAT long ago you were complaining to all of us, about posting in here.. about wrestling related topics, and NOT taking it to the main board.

Now you're doing that very same thing. How can you complain to us, when you turn around and turn a thread dedicated to a "person" into a discussion about Hogan and Flair, especially when as its been pointed out.. theres a thread dedicated to that, in the wrestling section, you so desperately want everyone to post more in.

Sly, I don't mean disrespect.. but I am being serious in saying, don't complain anymore to any of us about where we post, or what we discuss, when you turn around and do the same thing, okay? Highest point of respect to you, I have tremendous respect and I never want you thinking otherwise.. but you just turned yourself into a hypocrite for this discussion alone.
