Meilichia Tribute Thread

Mostly Old school Thrash Metal (Kreator, Megadeth) some modern Extreme Metal (Like Devildriver, Mastodon), Melodic Death Metal (Like Death, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy) Brutal Death Death Metal (Nile, Behemoth, Cannibal Corpse) Christian Death Metal (Mortification, Extol) and European Black Metal (Emperor, Satyricon)

Kreator and Megadeth are great, I also like... i don't know what genre it comes under, some people call it operatic metal, with bands like sonata arctica.

If its death metal it'll go under Melodic Death Metal, if its not death metal it'll probably go under whatever genre of metal Apocalyptica is in.

I also like alot of the alternative/indy rock that's out there right now. Modest Mouse, The Strokes, The White Stripes, Franz Ferndinand. The Killers have that really cool post-punk sound. And I'm HUGE on Arcade Fire. They sound like The Who if David Bowie was their lead singer.

White Stripes are hit and miss, Ferndinand is good, I only like Float On by Modest Mouse, The Killers are just horrible, terrible

Wes if you want to get into Extreme Metal you should try either Mastodon, Chimaira, or Killswitch Engage, If you want to get into Melodic Death Metal, try Amon Amarth or Death, for Brutal Death Metal, try Nile or Behemoth, and European Black Metall (If you make it that far) go with Marduk

The Killers' first album is really good. The only songs off of Sam's Town that I think are really good are Read My Mind and When You Were Young. I haven't heard a whole lot off of Sawdust. Modest Mouse has tons of good songs. The View, Dashboard, Ocean Breathes Salty, Satin in a Coffin, Little Motel and Missed the Boat, are all great.

I thought the Killers were ok up until I heard the song Somebody told Me, after that the Killers were just shit to me, same with Metallica after they released St Anger

The Beatles didn't do much for english rock, to be honest, not many people over here saw them as rock, more of a pop band in most peoples eyes.

Fair enough they might have brought English music to America... but they still didn't do much for English rock over here, they where adored by pop-loving girls but that was about it.

What's up:D

Ok, so I've read through this whole classic rock dicussion, and unless I missed something, no one has yet to mention Pink Floyd :wtf:, IMO they have to be near the top as far as Classic Rock goes
