Mason Ryan: Better Elsewhere?

He first bursted on to the scene during CM Punks leadership of The Nexus. He was dubbed the next 'Bataista' by many but since The Nexus disbaned, hes had little chances. Mid card matches every now and again and is mostly on in the dark match before the live shows and house shows.

My question is.. Can he work in the current Situation?Where would you like to see Him? And Would he be better getting Future Endevourd?

For Me.. Yes he can.

Ryback And Ryan-a tag team of domination with the both. It would give the Rest of the locker room a eye opener and it would scare everyone in the buissness but after a aurgment the 2 start feuding and We see some of the best matches of the mid card weve ever seen, maybe get the IC Or US Titles in the mix . Then it would leapfrog the two for future success.

No, Ryan should not be Future Endevoured just yet. Altough if the Tag Team/Feud dosent work i think that its time for him to go elsewhere. For me he would work really well near the top in TNA.

Don't make him look like batista that much (the skin, the beard, the hair) and I believe he will be able to get over with the crowd. Also, he REALLY needs to work on is mic skills. Last I time I heard him was during a backstage segment between him and CM Punk I think. I didn't make out a single word of what he said. I don't know I f he was even speaking English or something else! Do something with that. Also, he needs a manager, someone to talk for him.
Give him those and for now he could be able to make it in the lower-midcard/midarcd area.

Let Flair be his manager. He will get over and it would add more interest to him just because Flair walks to the ring with him. Also i find it hard to call him Mason Ryan because i watched gladiators in the UK and he looked like a dumbass and was called Goliath.

1 thing I think ppl tend to forget is big guys are often bad speakers in the beginning. Look at Batista before Evolution he was horrible on the mic but after training with Flair and HHH he got better. Traditionally big guys either start off bad and get better or just pick up a manager to speak for them. Now in the case of Mason I do like the idea him in some type of dominanting tag team and if not with Ryback how about with Tensai? Tensai has alot of experience as a tag team worker(who remembers TnA Test and Albert) and since he is on his way to getting a gimmick overhaul also this could help them both out. Or how about have him tag with Cessaro, play up the European gimmick or make were Cessaro is the ring tactition and Ryan is the brute force. Or tag him with Sandow to help further his enlightenment gimmick. This could be a time similar to Devon and Batista with Sandow as the leader and Ryan as the devout floor. All in all I dont think at this point Ryan is ready to be on his own he needs either a team mate or a great mouth piece to talk for him. I hesitate to have Flair manage him simply becuz everytime Flair gets a group it turns into some form of the Four Horsemen and Ryan isn't ready for that yet.

Big Show defeats John Cena at No Way Out then on RAW Big Show cuts a promo on how nobody can stop him etc etc and out of nowhere Mason Ryan's music hits. Mason Ryan comes running to the ring and spears Big Show than takes him to ringside and Powerbomb Big Show on the announce table.

YES!!! he can be something in WWE, if they just do something with him impactful. Give him someone to be his mouthpiece in Flair and make him into Batista Mk.II.

Of course he was easily going to get lost in any sort of shuffle after the demise of Nexus. But apart from that I can't think of anything meaningful he has done. Have him attack a 'big' name and then go through the squash and face and beat the 'big' name when they return on a PPV and make the win mean something and go from there. He has a major time look about him, of course it would be silly to see him being bigger than Batista, but still if he was somebody on TV that meant something to the fans then that would be good.

He'll definitely stick around. He's raw, has no mic skills and if he was 6'0 215 pounds he'd probably be out on his can right now. But he has size, a great physique and the WWE look. Give him a mouthpiece, a cool entrance, a cool nickname and a couple in ring taunts/poses and he'll be every bit as good as Batista was.

I just don't see any real talent in Mason Ryan. Even for a massive powerhouse, Ryan is extremely limited. The days of just being able to get by on having a great look are pretty much over and done with. While Batista himself was limited, Mason Ryan makes him look like Shawn Michaels. Ryan is extremely slow, clunky, clumsy and flat out boring to watch. There are a few guys in Ryan's range in terms of size & build, like Ryback & Ezekiel Jackson, and they're just flat out superior to Ryan whether it comes to personality, intensity or just being able to do anything inside the ring with a shred of coordinated athletic ability.

Last we saw of Mason Ryan, he was looking on during a match while hanging out with AW, Epico, Primo & Rosa so we can assume that he's going to be part of that stable whenever it makes its debut. Having Ryan as the powerhouse of that stable is really the best role for him. It's a way of having him surrounded by more talented people to help hide his limitations while using him in the right ways at the right times. But would he be better elsewhere? Like where? If he went to TNA or ROH, he'd probably get little from fans in the way of hate. Like WWE, most of their best talents are guys substantially less than 250 pounds and fans go out of their way to let big guys like Ryan know how bad they are.

I do look for Vince to give Ryan a real shot at some point in time because he has to just be flat out impressed with Ryan's look & build. There's only so much Vince and the WWE machine can do, however, with someone that's already so very limited in the first place. Same goes with any wrestling company.

I voted, "I don't give a damn." His steroid filled muscles are the only thing that impresses me about him... and by impress I mean that he hasn't been caught with the wellness policy.
Maybe it's because Creative keeps screwing up with him (first as the New Nexus enforcer than the happy go lucky meat head), but he doesn't do anything to get a crowd reaction. Ryback is back and he's clearly going to be the new monster in the ring. Where does Ryan fit in? Nowhere. He's going to be future endeavored in the next year or so because there is nothing for him here.

he just doesn't grab my attention. he is a big guy but not that great in the ring. character wise, they haven't really created any character for him other than "he is a big guy". compare him to Ryback - same sort of character but at least they have done better with Ryback by putting him in matches with 2 guys, the marching around the ring, etc(not much better but still better). with Ryan, all i see right now is Batista Jr.

He's worthless. They've got huge guys that can semi-wrestle or wrestle well, they don't need him. He can't work for crap, and has zero personality beyond "is muscular".

He's the kind of guy they need to move away from.

Ryback is also huge, but seems at least adequate in the ring (like Goldberg was), other big men like Sheamus or Tensai are talented wrestlers.

There's no room for him, really.

I went with "unsure" in the poll.

Mason Ryan has potential. His appearance and similarities to Batista help him and he is ok on the mic. The big issue is his in-ring work. He's awful and needs a ton of improvement. Even Otunga is better than him in the ring. The Batista similarities cannot help him forever. If he is going to live up to the potential, which IS there, then he needs to improve in the ring. He could be a heel enforcer for heels that (kayfabe) need protection. As long as he does not turn face. The random face turn last year is what ruined all of his odds in my opinion. No one cares about him.

I won't go as far as to say they need to future endeavour him. Yet. Give him another chance at being a heel enforcer. The roster is full of plenty of heels who could benefit from having him by their side. He still has to improve in the ring though. That is an issue that will continue to become more of a big deal if not dealt with. It caught up to him and now he's going nowhere. You cannot succeed as a pro wrestler if you cannot wrestle. You just can't. Hopefully he does live up to some of his potential, although I would not be surprised if they do future endeavour him.

I'm also undecided on this topic.

On the one hand he definitely fits Vince's idea of how a wrestler should look, strong,tall, and jacked. On the other hand he doesn't seem to have the same intensity that big guys use to cover up there lack of mic skills. But If he were to have a mouth-piece(Paul Heyman type of character) I think he could succeed but it seems like WWE doesn't believe in them anymore so IDK.

On a side-note how funny is that Vince's prototypical guys fail while guys like Punk and Bryan flourish?

Nothing about him has been interesting to me since he started not even as a monster heel. I have a feeling Vince will give him a push, but I just don't see anything coming from it. he seems very limited in what he can do, and I just don't ever think he is going to amount to anything. I just don't care enough about him to see anything in him in WWE or anywhere else.

They need to make a move with him come No Way Out, interfere in Sheamus vs Dolph and get Dolph the title, become a bodyguard type role. Dolph can do the talking and Ryan shuts up the critics about Dolph not being big enough and looking weak.

I for one hope that he doesn't get future endeavored because he does have the look of a what Vince is so high for. I mean he just needs a bit of work but could be a strong candidate and could have some intense feuds

Haven't seen him in awhile, but I think he should look elsewhere for a good gig. WWE has a history of not treating mid-card stars right and he pretty much fits that category. He should build a following in other places then return as a full-blown star and not a Batista clone.
