I wasnt surprised when I read this. Mean would it have been good to see Jericho retain and unmask Rey? Hell yeah, but that would be stupid given Rey's popularity, most notably with the younger audience.

This was an absolute given for The Bash. There is no way they would have Rey unmasked with the amount of sales they get from them.

I was really hoping Jericho would have had it a little longer so he could have a feud with Morrison over the strap, and Mysterio didn't have to lose his mask, Jericho could have gotten himself dq'ed. But oh well, their feud is apparently over seeing how Jericho and Edge won the tag team titles so maybe we can see a Mysterio-Morrison feud or Mysterio-Ziggler feud

This wasn't reported by the AP, so this can't be about WWE getting more press. Must be the title win.

Mysterio was never going to be unmasked for the Bash. Come on dude. That's Summerslam material!

Though, I honestly would have figured Jericho would cheat to pull off the win and keep his title once he thought the match wasn't going his way. But this was to clear up Jericho's title picture, I'm sure, and allow him to win the Unified Tag Titles with Edge. Now Jericho and Edge can bring some legitimacy to the title belts while Mysterio runs around the ring and tries to make people care about Benjamin. It'll be a feat, but I'm sure Mysterio can pull it off.

The Intercontinental Championship needs a definitive run, it's been in "hot potatoe" hell for a small while now, it's up to Rey Rey to carry this belt with pride and defend it throughout the Smackdown roster. I'm hoping he carries it until the December PPV or maybe even Royal Rumble, he has the tools to do so but chances are he will loose it at SummerSlam or the September PPV.

It Was Great, I Really Thought For A Moment That He Was Going To Lose And Be Unmasked But, Then I Thought Again And Said, Hey Wait A Minute Wwe Sells A "lot" A "lot" Of Mysterio's Masks, I Mean, At Live Events And Through Wweshop.com That's One Of The Best Sellers, So What's The Point Of Unmasking Him? What's Bigger? Jericho Lossing The Ic Title Or Mysterio Lossing His Mask? In This Case Is More Important The Mask, So Rey Won.

Their Feud Was Interesting And Gave The Ic Title A Lot Of Exposure And Went Back To Ppv's, 3 In A Row, When Was The Last Time You Remember The Intercontinental Title Was Defended In 3 Wwe Ppvs In A Row? Whaahahooo, I Don't Right Now, So Their Feud Was Very Productive.

Now It Will Be Good For Another Feud To Come For Mysterio With Some Of The Young Talented Guys Of Smackdown And In The Rest Of The Year Get The Belt And Retain It, So It Can Get Some ESTABLISHED REIGN, STRONG REIGN BY REY.

The Rey Rey/Jericho feud has been phenominal and really harkens back to their days in WCW feuding over the Cruiserweight Title. Jericho is absolutely amazing in his ability to sink himself into the angles he is involved in, whether it's the epic feud with HBK last year, his run as champ, the Legends angle, and now the Mysterio saga. Kudos to Rey as well for putting on his working boots since coming back from injury...Mysterio has been awesome lately and hopefully will get a rather good run with the belt. Here's hoping for Rey/Shelton next!

I was really hoping that Dos Caras Jr. was gonna come out and help Rey Rey out. This wasnt surprising though, Rey Mysterio wouldnt, and shouldnt, take his mask off no matter what WWE or Jericho say I think hed rather quit then do that. Not surprising but now the question is...Who is his next Contender?

As far as the next contender to the Intercontinental Championshhip goes, my money would be on Benjamin, Morrison, Ziggler, or maybe they will pull a swerve and it will be someone from another brand. Whoever it is, I hope it's someone with some good match working skills behind them lately the title has been reflecting that of the old WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship with the "workhorses" holding the belt, as of late we have had Punk, Rey and Jericho.

My money's on Dolph Ziggler being the next contender for the belt. He won in his feud with the Great Khali and now, it's the next step for Ziggler to maybe get some cred as a solid wrestler. It's amazing that they're doing better with Ziggler than with The Miz. Hilarious.

But Benjamin, R-Truth, and Ziggler look like prime candidates to be next in line for the gold.
