New Intercontinental Champion... WILLIAM REGAL.

To be honest, i couldn't help but enjoy William Regal winning. And I don't understand how the honk-a-meter was funny, it was more lame to me like the now a days Raw. Hopefully his reign can draw some serious heat.

Even though I wish that it wouldn't happen, it did. I sort of knew that Regal would win the title, since it was in his home country. But they just wasted a storyline that could have gone on for ages, with Santino Marella and the Honk-A-Meter. It was entertaining, but they just abruptly ended it with no build up whatsoever. They could've made a great feud out of it, but WWE dropped the ball, and allowed this to happen. For what reason? Santino must've pissed someone off backstage or something.

As for William Regal, I believe that he'll have a feud with Santino. It would make no sense for Santino to lose the belt and not try to get it back, so obviously we'll be seeing this match. But WWE don't trust Regal much anymore, doesn't KOTR usually elevate you into the main event? Regal's just wrestling in the mid card now. It'll be interesting to see where they go from here, but I can't help but think that Regal won't help the IC title out, and I think in the weeks to come we'll see that the belt would have been better off staying on Santino, for the comedic value.

I was glad William Regal won the IC title off of Santino Marella, although it may not be the best business option for the WWE i suppose many Regal fans like myself will be happy that Regal has got what many fans think he deserves. I'm a Santino fan too although i do get fed up with his lame acts and sometimes unfunny jokes. I was also hoping he would beat Honky's record but it was'nt to be. "Anyone who isn't a fan of Santino is a straight-up hater" This sentence is rather stupid, just because you dislike someones gimmick your a "straight up hater"? Pathetic!

The only reason i could think of for Santino losing the IC title was because he may of pissed someone off backstage or he has violated a wellness policy, I don't know but it was a shock to see him lose in under a minute was'nt it? The WWE have trusted Regal with the belt purely because he is much older and mature, Jeff is still a young man who is yet to "rest" himself and confirm his spot in the WWE, he seems like an out of control teenager if you ask me. Regal is better then Hardy, Regal is possibly the best technical wrestler after Finlay in the WWE and has an excellent brawling style too. Whats Jeff Hardy got? Aload of overrated flips and jumps, WOW! He really is a good wrestler. Hardy is a good highflyer not a good wrestler.

Yes i think there will be an obvious feud that will brew from Regal's win, although i think it will be poor. we have'nt ever seen santino wrestler well have we? but his promo and mic skills are excellent and so are Regal's. I don'tknow myself but i can't really see this being a good feud

I think Merella was becoming a great ic champ. he had good mic skills and mat skills to back it up. They should have kept this storyline going until at least a week before he broke the record and then have him lose. William Regal is a good wrestler but he just isn't championship material yet. Not even for the tag titles. This was a huge mistake making Regal champ.

I'm very happy that this happened. Regal is a hell of a wrestler who deserves this. I must say I like Santino and find him very entertaining, but his title matches, and any match he has in general are like 2 minutes and usually ends with him losing, or dq in some way. Regal could have some good feuds with good matches, and I think he will be a better champion then Santino. So I am happy this happened and look forward to seeing what WWE does with this.

I also enjoy the fact that Regal is the new IC Champ. I also like the fact he is taking the Jericho route, saying that he serves the Queen and such, making people dispise him because of it. Santino was very entertaining, but seriously do you think he deserves to break the record of longest IC champ? I don't know if Regal is deserving as well but right now I think Regal will be a fine new IC champion for the next few weeks and months.

Watching an English man, In England, Winning the IC title, As an Englishman, I totally marked out.

That aside, I've never really liked "William Regal" the character, But liked his in-ring work, He has the Mat and technical ability of your Chris Benoit's, And Kurt Angles, But I dont like his promo's, I know alot of people rate him on the stick, But the only time I've wanted to listen to him, Was when he was the general manager, But like I said, I like his in-ring work, Take his match with Finlay, It was one of my favourite matches in the last few years, It had intensity, Excitment, And a good finish.

Honestly not sure what the point was to this other than to give the English something other than a new Women's Champion to remember. Regal and Noble kind of just died off, so I'm not sure where they're planning on going with him as champion unless he loses to some big name face like Punk or someone. I really can't see a reign lasting longer than about 2 months out of this, but it could go longer I suppose. It really does feel like he's just a transitional champion though, but it wouldn't be bad if he was more than that.

I think they only gave the title to Regal because the WWE were over in the UK, that was according to a few wrestling sites. I honestly don't know i can't find no reason in kafaybe to why Regal had a match there and then. Or did Santino annoy someone backstage?

Same here. Its a shame if he is only a transitional champion because he is one of the best wrestlers on the roster, not to mention he is a decent main eventer or has been in the past. If Regal does keep hold of the title i'd like to see him have a long reign not just a month or a two month reign but a reign which makes him out to look a strong champon.
