Rellik (Johnny The Bull) On Why He Left Mexico's AAA
01/09/2009 by Bill Behrens

The following from, Rellik (Johnny Hugger)is his take on his recent experience in Mexico's AAA. Several guys had spoken to him and I had heard this story from them, but he lays it out pretty well himself.

One side note is that there were some in AAA who believed his gimmick was not getting over so that may have had something to do with it too. Rellik notes that the gimmick needs to be "pushed" a certain way for it to work in what he writes below.

Rellik writes:

Ok, It's like this. wrestling companies these day's want to get you for as cheap as possible and if its not WWE then there is NO money. I'm done getting pimped by these companies. AAA being the worst that I've came across. And I've worked for every major company out there except New Japan.

Dorian the owner has NO clue of what he's doing and he's making a grave mistake by trying to make his shity product similar to WWE. So, my prediction for AAA is that it will be OWNED by WWE as will all the territories in Mexico in the near future. It happened here in the states and the same formula will work in Mexico.

AAA isnt the same as it was when the late great Eddie Guerrero and my good friend Rey Mysterio was there. Antonio Pena was running it was different. Now, you got some spoiled rotten boy who doesn't know shit about this business, with family money running it. The wrestling is god awful as are most of the storylines. There is no method to the madness. WHY do they even use a ref??? The best Mexican Wrestler AAA has is Zorro. He is a great wrestler with a good mind for the business. Look out for him .

All the American wrestlers are great. Teddy,Jack are superb and they do some amazing shit, Alex and Rocky are really good as well. Xpac is still good and has a great mind for the business but Dorian's dumb ass doesn't listen to him.

So here's the real reason why I left,

I flew out to Mexico City on my own dime, when I get there, AAA normally puts Americans up at the Hotel Fornos in Mexico city. That didn't happen with me. They knew that Mark Jindrack was there and they knew we are boy's so they took advantage of that. I slept on his couch for 3 months! During this time was working Illegally without an work Visa. I could have been deported at any time. For the first month I only did T'V's for 5000 pesos (370 dollars)x3 for that month. I could barley eat and if it wasn't for Mark then I don't know were I would have stayed. Everyone thinks Oh, your in Mexico City and your money will go along way. bullsh*t. Food is expensive and without a car you have to take taxi rides everywhere. Also, without my work visa I cant get things I need like a checking account or rent my own place.

I asked for meetings time after time and I would get blown off. I felt lost, alone in a different "world" and the company didn't do anything to help me out. Meanwhile, I'm on the cover of they're magazine for the month of Dec doing all the Main Events. oh, I didn't get paid for the Magazine shoot but that took all day.

The travel schedule has got to be one of the most difficult schedules in the business. Most of the time we had 6 to 8 hour bus rides, wrestle outside in dirty bull fighting arena's and hop back on the bus and ride to the next city or back to Mexico City with no shower. Oh, we also had a 12 hour bus ride at one point. So, 24 hours on a bus no shower. So, I did the math and it came out to be like 15 to 20 dollars an hour to live that lifestyle and put up with AAA's unorganized ass backwards way of doing business. No thanks. Let those other guy's do it if they want to. I no showed TJ because AAA wasn't working with me and they wanted me to DRIVE my car to TJ, wrestle and drive back on Christmas Day!! REALLY?? Saturday night live. lol Not to mention all the drug violence that is in TJ right now. I have a nice car with nice rims. If I drove that to TJ it probley would have been stolen.

I also told Dorian that Rellik needs to be used a certain way. It's a gimmik and has to be booked right if not you will kill it. I know the Mexican fans loved it and he's full of shit. He's trying to save face with his comments. The bottom line Dorian. You cant pimp me. I left you.

I'm 31yrs old I don't have to to be dealing with shit like that. The bottom line is, there is no more money in the wrestling business unless you are with WWE. It's not the way it used to be and it will never be like that again. As an athlete with the NFL or MLB, if you leave one organization you have many other teams to go to and make money and they have benefits. With WWE there are 10 guys that make big money and that have long term contracts. They don't have to worry about retiring. If your not one of those 10 then you may get in and have a good run for 3 to 4 yrs but you better have something to fall back on because if you don't you are f*cked! Everyone should know this before they decide to get in this business.

So, if anyone that wants to go work for AAA be prepared to eat a shit burrito with no sauce, and be prepared to do it often.

CMLL is a little better from what I've seen. At least most of they're shows are in the city and you can make it back to your house and sleep in your own bed. And the wrestling is much better there as well. But you still aren't going to get rich.

I'm not sure where I'll be in the future but I'll let you know where and when.

Thanks to Mark Jindrak for being a good friend.

What did he think was going to happen down in Mexico? I guess I didn't realize it was that bad but he really should have realized he wasn't going to make much down there. Pesos are worth next to nothing up here and that is why the country is in the state its in. He may have thought it through a little more before he went. Thats the risk you take when you try to enter wrestling (especially in another country) there are no benefits and if you don't make it to the top then your screwed.

Although he did bring up some good points in his message.

The way AAA is booking their matches is to much like WWE. Instead of sticking to the regular Lucha Libre style they are doing everything like WWE. I have a feeling his prediciton for the territories in Mexico may come true if they don't shape up. If the promoters don't at least listen to the ideas of they're workers how will they know what works and what doesn't?

I would think the wrestlers more than anyone would know whats good and whats not after all they are the ones out there in front of the crowd practically night after night. They don't have to be like WCW and let the inmates run the asylum but just listen to what they have to say, there can't really be any harm in that. Even if its something you don't want to hear they may have a point if you just listen to them.

Now I can see why Ciber left AAA and why Mesias was trying so hard to get work up here in the states.

RESULTS

EMLL 1/4 – Arena Coliseo
1. Sensei & Starman beat Los Hombres del Camoflaje (Artillero & Super Comando)
2. Cosmico/Electrico/Mini Fantasy defeated Pequeno Black Warrior/Pequeno Halloween/Universito Dos Mil by DQ due to excessive violence.
3. Fabian el Gitano/Mascara Purpura/Maximo beat El Bronco/Escandalo/Vangelis
4. Damian el Terrible/Hijo del Texano/Virus defeated Mascara Dorada/Sagrado (subbing for Shocker)/Valiente
5. Mr. Niebla/Rey Bucanero/Ultimo Guerrero beat Shocker (subbing for Dos Caras Jr.)/Toscano/Volador Jr.

I would hope that with the problems they are having CMLL (EMLL) will start utilizing the mini's more as they are just as entertaining (if not more in some cases) as they're namesakes. So I see Toscano is doing some shows for CMLL and I wonder how long that will last. I wonder if he got his act together and will stay with the company for awhile without getting supended.

IWRG 1/4 – Arena Naucalpan
1. Imperio Azteca beat Soldado del Diablo
2. Goleador & Miss Gaviota defeated Anticristo Jr. & King Drako
3. Los Gemelos Fantastico I y II/Jack beat Fantasma de la Opera/Las Traumas I y II but the rudos destroyed the tecnicos after the match until the Oficiales made the save.
4. Los Oficiales (AK-47/Fierro/911) defeated Freelance/Ultraman/Zatura
5. Capitan Muerte/Tetsuya Bushi/Veneno beat Fuerza Guerrera/Multifacetico/Pendulo when Veneno fouled Multifacetico behind the ref’s back.

I still have yet to watch more of this promotion and will hopefully get to do so in the future.

Monterrey 1/4 – Arena Coliseo de Monterrey
1. Baby Fox & Rey Imagen beat Los Jorobados del Mal I y II
2. Ejecutor & Mr. Secuestro defeated Aguila Extrema & Relampago Azul
3. Bull Terrier Match: Tigre Cota beat Chris Stone
4. Monje Negro Jr./Tiffany/Mini Kenzo Suzuki defeated TDN/Dama de Hierro/Mascarita Divina
5. Northern Tag Titles: Rio Bravo & Tito Santana beat Karis la Momia & Virtual X to retain their titles.

Promociones Rams 1/3 – Expo Feria de Santa Maria Ixcotel
1. Los Silver Cats I y II beat Los Bomberos Infernales I y II
2. Mascara contra Caballera: Furia Poblana defeated Super Rockero who ended up being shaved.
3. The Psycho Circus (Killer Clown/Psycho Clown/Zombie Clown) beat Abismo Negro/Aero Star/Alebrije
4. Elegido/La Parka Jr./Super Fly defeated Chessman/Electroshock/Zorro by DQ when Zorro fouled Parka.

And thats why Chessman needs to be on his own because being with partners scew everything up for him. Especially since he is not a member of La Legion (thank God for small favors) and having him team with two members of that faction is pointless.

NEWS

Hijo del Santo stated this weekend that the proposed mascara contra caballera match with Perro Aguayo Jr. scheduled to take place next month is officially off (shocking.) Santo said that Perrito grandstanded a challenge thinking that he wouldn’t take it seriously making him look like a coward but when he accepted and even came up with a date (2/5/09 which is the 25th anniversary of his dad’s death) Perrito then declared that he had no interest in such a match. Santo went on to say that he still wants the match with Perrito because that is a match that the fans want to see and he wants it as well to see who is the better man. Santo said though that he likes with Perrito & Dr. Wagner Jr. are doing in sticking it to EMLL because they are trying to prove that the wrestlers are worth a lot more than what the promoters think they are and it’s not the name of the promotion that draws fans. Santo then bashed EMLL’s tour of Spain as he just got back from there recently where he did a tour and said that they almost killed the sport in the country so he had to come in with his crew and they had to rehabilitate the fans. Santo said that he, Blue Demon Jr., & the others put on a great show and thinks that everything will be fine there so they would tour again this summer along with a return to England.

Well why is that not surprising. I kinda figured that would happen when I read about it. Perrito shouldn't talk about things like that if he isn't going to go through with it because now he looks like an idiot. That would be a match to see I think but I doubt if it did happen if it would be on tv and most fans would miss it if they didn't go to the show it was on.

Super Luchas is reporting in their latest issue that Perros del Mal has some sort of agreement with Bobby Lashley to come in to work at least one show for them in March against Cibernetico. I’ll believe that when I see it.

Now this I find very interesting. It would be cool if Lashley and Ciber went against each other. I will more than likely never see it but as long as a report comes out thats good. I thought Lashley did pretty good at Triplemania this year (AAA ppv) and was hoping he would do more shows for them. We Will have to see how that goes......

RESULTS

EMLL 1/11 – Arena Mexico
1. Pegasso & Rey Cometa beat Caligula & Messala
2. Euforia & Nosferatu defeated Flash & Stuka Jr.
3. Blue Panther/Marco Corleone/Shocker beat La Jauria del Terror (Damian el Terrible/Ephesto/Hijo del Texano)
4. Black Warrior/Mr. Niebla/Rey Bucanero defeated Mistico/La Sombra/Volador Jr.
5. Steel Cage Match where the loser must unmask: Pierrothito eliminated Shockercito who unmasked as Javier Cortes Sanchez from Oaxaca with 8 years experience. Order of Elimination: Cosmico/Electrico/Mini Fantasy/Pequeno Ninja/Tzuki/Pequeno Olimpico/Universito Dos Mil/Pequeno Black Warrior/Ultimo Dragoncito/Mascarita Dorada/Pierrothito. There were a lot of tremendous spots here with minis flying off the top of the cage and the like so this sounds like a must see.

Good to see Pegasso and Rey Cometa in EMLL now, hopefully the will do well there and get far. I am hoping to get to see them soon as I have missed them with the rest of La Real Fuerza Aerea in AAA. I don't really think that faction even exists anymore. But I can't wait to see more from those two in the future and will give me a reason to watch EMLL more.

NEWS

Diario Record is reporting today that Charly Manson has decided to leave AAA and join up with Perros del Mal after his contract ended recently. Charly decided not to renew his deal and that he has seen how Cibernetico has done there so he wants to reunite with his friend there working in more of a free environment. Perro Aguayo Jr. said that having Charly join up with the promotion is a big coup for them and gives them yet another ally to fight off guys like Dr. Wagner Jr. & L.A. Par-K. Perrito said though that he doesn’t know exactly when Charly will be ready to wrestle but hopes it would be very soon.

Okay now I am mad dang it they lost Charly? What the hell is going on in AAA? Great I hope the rumours of Chessman and Mesias leaving for PdM aren't true too or else AAA will really be in bad shape. They will ahve lost not only some of they're tecnico roster but a lot of big name draws. AAA needs to do something or else they will be in trouble. I really wouldn't care if PdM had they're own weekly tv show or something but they don't and the chances of me seeing it are slim to none. Come on AAA you need to figure out what you are going to do here to keep your people from jumping ship. Forget the ratings war and trying to beat all the other companies, you need to focus on keeping your talent so they feel the company is worth staying for. I really hope Mesias and Chessman don't jump ship or I am going to be very pissed off......

Dos Caras Jr. announced over the weekend that he won’t be going to the WWE after all and has re-signed with EMLL for 4 more years stating that he thinks that staying in Mexico would be better for his career right now due to already being a star there and not having to work his way up from the bottom for WWE. Amazing.

I am glad he is thinking and using his head. He would have gone the way of Super Crazy and would have been stuck as mainly a curtain jerker. They say they want Luchadores but they would always either be compared to Rey or Eddie. I mean look at how far Chavo has gotten and he is a Mexican wrestler. They don't seem to be using him hardly at all for anything. I am glad none of the Luchadores decided to go and I am glad they saw that they wouldn't be used hardly. I don't think it would be worthwhile for any of them to go to WWE, especially with all the cuts they have been making recently.

There is talk that New Japan is interested in restarting a more serious working relationship with EMLL and wants to bring in more of their wrestlers in on tours starting in March. The names that have been mentioned so far are Shigeo Okumura, La Sombra, & Ultimo Guerrero to go with Mistico, Averno, & Mephisto. There will be more to this to come in the future.

NEWS

El Mesias stated yesterday to Reforma that his main goal for 2009 is to destroy La Legion Extranjera so AAA can be a better place to work for in the future. Mesias said that he gave Joaquin Roldan his full support in this war and would be the one to remove Konnan from power and to bring Roldan back to where he belongs which is in charge of AAA. Mesias went on to say that Konnan has done a lot of damage since he took over and that he would be his worst nightmare because with the support of the fans he would not fail. Mesias then sent a shoutout to Cibernetico saying that the beef they had for years is squashed and apologized for injuring him in the past hoping that he could forgive him of his past transgressions. Mesias said that he would like for Ciber to return back to AAA to help win the war against La Legion but he understands his problems with certain people in the promotion and that one day the time would be right for him to come back where he would be welcomed back with open arms.

Well that was awfully nice of him wasn't it? Wow his turn to tecnico was quick. It was a smart move on his part (although I still like him better as a rudo) because his subordinates, (I guess you could call them that) turned on him and now he is on his own. I figured that he would align himself with Ciber which in my opinion was a good move because going to the legion would be a waste for him. Take Zorro for example, he was supposed to be a co-leader of la legion and it seems like everyone goes to Konnan for everything and don't seek his help or advice at all. Like I said a waste but I digress......

I was very surprised to see Konnan trying to get Mesias in the group because I thought he didin't like him but he would be a great asset were he to go which is why I am sure he was pushing for him to join. But why should Mesias join them after they turned on him and the rest of La Secta last year? I can see why he wouldn't. I still don't understand why the rest of La Secta chose to go into an alliance with them after that but I suppose that's water under the bridge for some and others can't forget something like that.

As for the shout out to Ciber that was wierd. They spent the past two years trying to kill each other and then just like that everythings all good? Wow AAA is kinda movin fast with they're storylines now. Um you may want to slow things down a bit, it seems kind of wrong though that they have an entire roster of luchadores and Mesias was pretty much the top rudo there for awhile and now he is going to be a top tecnico? Doesn't really seem fair to the rest of the roster. Try pushing others too, I know they are having Super Fly do more singles matches and things like that but there are others too that they can be utilizing as well.

Not to take anything away from Mesias because I think for them to be doing this for him has made him do more in the ring. He is starting to do moves that I haven't seen him do at all in the entire year that I have been watching him in AAA. This seems to have maybe rejuvinated him as it were which will be a great thing to happen for his fans.

If they want AAA to be a better place to work they should have someone other than Dorian (which would explain the problems Konnan is having with him) running the show and get someone who is going to be fair and do whats in the best interest of the luchadores because that would be one of the most if not the most important thing. Without them you wouldn't even have a promtion to begin with.

NEWS

Charly Manson stated today that his leaving AAA to Perros del Mal was a decision that had to be made for his career because he will be able to work for them while he is rehabbing from his fractured femur in his right leg which is something that AAA wouldn’t let him do. Manson said that the Perros will let him be a referee until he is ready to come back to action which could be as early as March and that 2009 would be a banner year for him. Manson said that he left AAA on good terms he thought but he had to do what he had to do to make his career better.

Well I hope that if he is indeed with PdM that this works out for the best for him. I know he tried to do run in type stuff during a mtach Chessman had and he seemed to be having trouble with that. If he is still rehabbing his leg then why would AAA risk him getting injured again? I know they want him to possibly do a storyline with Chessman but wait until he is fully healed so he will be at 100% for crying out loud.

Hector Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, & La Mascara defeated Atlantis, Negro Casas, & Ultimo Guerrero last night in Guadalajara to win the CMLL Trios Titles with hopefully full results coming later this week.

Thats good and I am glad to see Hector Garza trying to help some of the younger talent. Thats good and I hope they can hold on to the belts for awhile (which could be years in Lucha Libre since losing a mask or hair is waaaaay more important than any of the belts).

AAA announced on their website that they will running a tour of California from 3/27 to 4/5 with shows being held in Fresno on 3/27, Sacramento on 3/28, San Jose on 3/29, Los Angeles on 4/4, & San Diego on 4/5.

I long for the day when they can come closer to my home state so I can see them. But seeing as though I live by Canada that is never going to happen sadly......

Averno stated yesterday that he & Mephisto are very angry at losing their CMLL Tag Titles to La Sombra & Volador Jr. last Friday night at Arena Mexico but they accept their loss saying that the new champs are great wrestlers who showed a lot of guts by even challenging for the titles. Averno said that they have fought and defended for the CMLL Tag Titles for years now and they are very important to them so they won’t sit on their hands waiting for their next shot. Averno said that they are the #1 contenders and want their rematch ASAP.

You lost face it, the sooner you get over it the better you will feel.....losers lol

In actions reminiscent of Decnis & Guapito last year, Charly Manson has decided to stay with AAA and not jump to Perros del Mal. Box y Lucha, Luchas 2000, and others have all picked up this story and we’ll see how long before he changes his mind.

Well if that don't beat all. Looks like he may have decided to stay after all. Well i hope they will let him rehab his leg and not put him in any danger of injuring himself further. But we will have to see what happens. I sure hope he doesn't change his mind again. Working the independants isn't exactly garunteeing a paycheck week to week or every two weeks or however that may go. He may be better off in AAA. I sure hope that this works in his favor then (getting a sense of deja vu here lol....)

Also in Reforma (this time via Jazzo) has an interview with Perro Aguayo Jr. He’s disappointed Charly isn’t coming into the group, but would gladly welcome him later because he handled the situation like a professional. Perro doesn’t blame Charly for going back to AAA for more money, he’s upset with ‘other companies who act against us’. He gives credit to Charly for calling them back and letting them know what was going on - unlike Dos Caras Jr., who never called them to explain why he wasn’t on the first show.

Well he has to do what he has to for his family and I am glad he has decided to stay. At least they will be able to set up a feud with Chessman now. Would have been cool if he had joined with Chessman but I think a feud may be the right way to go for these two.

Chessman's feud with Ciber sure didn't last long (but then it seems like a lot of Cibers feuds had been doing that before his departure) and I look forward to seeing him become the top luchadore in AAA which has been long over do IMHO.

AAA 1/18 – Parque de Beisbol José Aguilar y Maya de Guanajuato (TV taping)
1. Aero Star/El Angel/Laredo Kid beat El Poder Norte (Rio Bravo/Tito Santana/Tigre Cota) by DQ when Billy Boy ran out and ripped off Laredo’s mask.

5. Abismo Negro/El Mesias/La Parka Jr. (subbing for Gronda II) beat Black Abyss/Electroshock/Konnan and Black Abyss had to be stretchered out afterwards.

OMG!!!!! Chessman and the Psycho Circus won the Atomicos titles!!!!! Yay!!! I am so happy about this! When I heard about this match I was really looking forward to it and I hope I can see it. Chessman deserves to be champ and I am hoping he can go for the main belt in AAA (which Mesias currently holds and I am glad for that too). I did my happy fan girl dance when I found this out I am not ashamed to admit it lol. I am also glad they have decided to give the titles to someone new as I believe La Secta has had the belts since May 2007. Yes folks these title reigns go in years not months like in WWE or TNA.

On a side note for those that don't know the Mexican National Atomicos titles are comprised of a four man team. Also if there is the word National in the title name then the luchadores going for it have to be Mexican by birth or citizenship. I believe thats how that works but I may be wrong. If I am indeed wrong then please tell me as I don't want to give anyone any misinformation.

NEWS

Perro Aguayo Jr. told Reforma this week that he feels disappointed that Charly Manson won’t be working for him but said that he would love to have him join up whenever he felt ready to join because there will be a spot for him. Perrito said that Charly came to him as a professional about his decision to return to AAA because they decided to offer him more money to stay which is what is the most important to all wrestlers in the end. Perrito also took a shot at Dos Caras Jr. saying that at least Charly let them know why he couldn’t work for them unlike Dos who said nothing.

Well I am glad that he is going to stay with AAA. He needs to become a major player in AAA and I think him staying may have been the better choice. Working with PdM may have given him more freedom but it doesn't really garuntee a paycheck as I have posted before. I am looking forward to his in-ring return.

Dr. Alfonso Morales stated in his column in Reforma that Konnan is trying to bankrupt the promotion right now by embezzling money from them for his own personal usage. That’s quite the angle.

Are they sure its an angle? Lol I am joking of course, but uh that seems like kind of a dumb angle but then I don't really know the business so who knows if this will work.

Well now that whole business with Electroshock asking Zorro for money to buy a car makes sense. Although when they did the segment them trying to bankrupt the company didn't really come across very well. It seemed like a stupid conversation that didn't need its own segment.

They may need to work on that angle a little more as what they are trying to do (bankrupt AAA) isn't coming across very well on screen.

Chessman told Box y Lucha that 2009 will be the year where he comes into his own as the main player in AAA after a 14-year career that started out in Naucalpan with a payday of some chicken and a coke at a show where he had to borrow some ring gear to compete on the show. Chessman said that he thinks about his past a lot and that he used that as motivation to push himself to the level he is at today. Chessman said that he changed his face paint from red to black because he was ready to ditch the image he had for years being aligned with Charly Manson & Cibernetico and that this is a newer and darker version of Chessman that only cares about winning now hence why he aligned with the Psycho Circus because they never lose.

Wow and people thought starting out and working the independants here in the states was bad. I didn't really like Psycho Circus at first but slowly started to after my niece began to refer to them as her clowns lol I know dumb reason right? He y I'm a girl I can't help myself. I am glad he is looking to become a major player in AAA as I felt he was always held back being around Ciber. One thing though that I don't get is that he said all he cares about is winning yet in the matches I have seen him in since he changed his look he has lost (mainly by a DQ). Soooo what do you mean? If you want to win then STOP GETTING YOURSELF DISQUALIFIED IN MATCHES. It irritates me because the people he has gone against he could have won against but he instead opted to get DQ'd. I do hope to see him become heavyweight champ in AAA though, he deserves it and this has been long over do for him.

Groon XXX told Box y Lucha this week that he had to undergo an emergency surgery on Sunday where he was diagnosed with an acute pancreatitis which is very dangerous in that 2 out of 10 people that suffer that illness will survive. Groon said that he was asleep in his house on Saturday night where he awoke with what he thought was hunger pains so he decided to eat but vomited it all up so he decided to try some protein shakes which ended up with more vomit and severe stomach pains. Groon said that the pain forced him to the floor where he called his ex-wife Esther Moreno asking her to bring some pills but she called the ambulance instead. Groon then said that he went to the hospital where he had an ultrasound performed on him that really didn’t give the doctors any results so they had to perform the operation to fix the problem because if they couldn’t control it in four hours then Groon would’ve went into a coma and would’ve probably died. Groon said that the doctors found the pancreaitis and that it was on the verge of exploding but they got it under control although he will have to undergo more exams so they can keep him stabilized. Groon went on to say that this was the worst thing to happen to him in his life because unlike the other injuries he has had which were in his bones which could heal with time, this one is way more serious and could cause him to die and will easily change his life. Groon also said that the timing of this is horrible because he was ready to return to AAA (he said a major promotion but you know the deal) and this illness will prevent that from happening but at least he is still alive and that he would return to action in a year.

Better to take of yourself than risk injuring yourself further. Well thats to bad that he won;t be going to AAA but at least he will get healthy and thats the most important thing. Worry about that first and then perhaps in a year he can go to AAA id they will still let him.

NWE representatives told Super Luchas that they have cancelled their planned shows in Mexico in February due to the poor economy in Mexico but would come back in July when they hope things will be better for business.

Poor economy? Thats just about everywhere now isn't it?

Dr. Wagner Jr. stated in the latest issue of Super Luchas that he would be working AAA spot shows around the country because he wants to work against anyone and everyone on the indy scene but he wouldn’t work AAA TV tapings at least not quite yet.

Well thats good it would be interesting to see him in AAA but then he would probably get sucked into the whole AAA against Foreign Legion thing that is going on and I think he would be better doing what he's doing now.

Estrellita underwent surgery on her right knee today after injuring it in a match involving Tiffany last week and would be out of action for 6 months. She decided to go with the surgery because she didn’t do that when she had the problem with her left knee so she didn’t want to have that problem again.

Well I hope she has a speedy recovery and at least she realized it was better to get it taken care of then to leave it.

AAA 1/25 – Gimnasio Lazaro Cardenas de Salamanca (TV taping)

3. Aero Star/Elegido/Laredo Kid beat El Brazo/Decnis/Pirata Morgan after Guapito who had already turned on Brazo came out with the rudos and turned on them again after the match
4. Black Abyss/Teddy Hart/Zorro defeated Abismo Negro/Gronda II/Super Fly
5. El Mesias/La Parka Jr./Silver King beat Electroshock/Joe Lider/Nicho el Millionario

What in the blue hell is the matter with Vampiro?! He stripped them of the belts?! He aint no better than the way Konnan ran the ship (in the short time he did run it anyway) and that was not necessary. Dammit Chessman deserves some kind of title and I hope they get some kind of retribution for that. Geez at least let the guy have something he has been through a lot in his career.

Actually it isn't even Vampiro I should be mad at its whoever made the call on that storyline. What a bunch of idiots. That was the best you could come up with? Stripping them of the belts? Well now what do you do with the belts? I suppose they won't really do anything since titles don't mean much down there. But its the prinicple of the thing I am sure Chessman's fans were more than happy that he won. Wow his title reign lasted less than Jeff Hardy's, thats really bad....ouch.

As far as the Guapito thing goes, anyone who saw Guerra de Titanes knew he had turned on Brazo in the cage match. So ummm what was the point of doing it again? Did they think we needed to be reminded? I don't inderstand the purpose of that but then again a lot of things in AAA are beginning to not make any sense.

NEWS

Super Crazy announced yesterday that he would stay with Perros del Mal until the end of February which is one month longer than expected but he would make his big jump to AAA in March where he plans on aligning with El Mesias to take down Konnan and La Legion. Crazy said that he would fulfill all of his bookings for the next month so his fans don’t have to worry about him missing a show because he feels like he must take advantage of every opportunity to use his fame that he acquired in the WWE to help out the independent promoters.

I am glad he is going to AAA hopefully he will have dropped some weight by then and will be utilized more. He will probably do more in the ring and won't be so restricted like he was in WWE.

The whole La Legion thing is already getting old and AAA really needs to find something new to bring to the table. I mean I am getting tired of the same people facing each other and they really need some fresh feuds.

I have to apologize for never getting the second half of the Guerra de Titanes report. He never posted it.

AAA on Galavision TV report
AAA on Galavision
By: Xavier Hernandez
Show aired on: 01/31/2008

The show opnes with a video package from the returning ABISMO NEGRO! He says life is like a fortune wheel, and he's been up and down. Abismo is alone, and wonders why he has no friends. He's made many mistakes, and he says he will rise again. Abismo Negro lives!!!! (that was a good promo)

I am very glad he is back and I sure do hope he got his personal issues resolved. Hopefully he is in it for the long haul this time around.

*In-Ring Segment: Mesias is with mic in hand. He apologizes again for doing many bad things over the past two years, and begs the crowd for a second chance. Mesias bows to return the control of AAA to Joaquin Roldan, and promises to finish the Legion once and for all. This brings out the controversial Konnan. He tells Mesias that he's never seen such a man full of hypocrecy like Mesias. He insults the crowd for sucking up to Mesias. Konnan says he would never do what Mesias is doing, and bows to destroy him physically and mentally. Konnan calls out the Secta, but Mesias cleans the house with all of them. Konnan says the night is not over, and there is more to come for Mesias. The champion tells Konnan that he doesn't have enough guts to face him. Plus, Mesias has full support of the fans.

Still really wierd having Mesias be a tecnico. I really do think he is better as a rudo but they needed someone to carry the ball I guess after Ciber left so they gave him the spot. We will have to see if this works out for him (it has so far since he is the champ now)

*Pretaped Segment: Chessman is sad because Roldan and AAA have turned their back on one of the most valuable stars in the comapny. Now that Mesias is with AAA, Chessman is no longer with them. He also makes it clear, that he would never join la Secta, because he is fully Mexican, and won't be associated with foreign groups. Chessman wants the belt from Mesias, and he also wants to destroy Zorro. Manson is also addressed, and Chessman says anyone that gets in this way will suffer the consequences. The world title is his new goal to reach.

He would be right about that, he should have been given the top spot but I guess they have other plans for him. The thing with La Secta was kind of disappointing as I was hoping he would join up with them but then they went and joined La Legion (I think one week they do the next week its a different story so who knows?) and he joined up with the Psycho Circus.

1) Chessman vs. Zorro

-Only Fall: Match start off with some basic holds and blows. Zorro birngs in a chair, and tosses Chessman into it. Zorro now smashes the head of Chessman on the turnbuckles, but Chessman replies with a big blow to the face. Chessman misses a Corkscrew Moonsault, and Zorro hits a Slingshot Dropkick. Zorro grabs the kendo stick, but Chessman take it from him. Chessman hits a Spear on Zorro, and covers. However, Charlie Manson arrives and pulls Chessman's feet. Chessman is angry and attacks the leg of Manson. Vampiro tries to rescue Manson, but Chessman pushes him. Zorro hits a clean Hilo ovet the top to attack Chessman. Zorro returns to the ring, and Chessman is counted out.

Winner (Count Out): Zorro
-Aftermath: Chessman continues to attack Manson, until the security staff pulls them apart. Manson retunrs to attack Chessman, and Vampiro grabs him.

For someone who cares only about winning he sure does lose a lot. And Again another loss for Chessman, you know now that I think about it the only time I have seen him win was waaay back in October when he won a triple threat against Ciber and Zorro. Wow that was awhile ago. At least they are buliding up the feud between the two former teammates which is good, they gotta keep Charlie involved somehow until his leg is fully healed. Well at least Zorro won thats a plus would have been just as happy if Chessman won.

*Pretaped Segment: Konnan talks to the Legion, and says defeats are part of the business, so they can't be depressed for a single one. Konnan wants the Legion to stay focused, because Roldan is planning something. The Legion is also having financial problems, so they need to act fast. Electro and Konnan bow to win the main event, and destroy Mesias.

At least he is a good loser......Was it just me or did it seem like during this segment Zorro didn't even seem interested. if memory serves Konnan was jsut talking to Electro and Zorro. Zorro seemed uninterested and left before Konnan even finished talking. I sure do hope this means he is either going to take control of La Legion or leave the group. Either way it will be good for him.

2) AAA World Tag Team Championship (Ladder)
Joe Lider & Nicho el Millonario (c) vs. Teddy Hart & Jack Evans vs. Extreme Tiger & KENTA

-Only Fall: Evans, Tiger and Lider kick off by attacking each other. Hart and Nicho double team KENTA, and then attack each other. KENTA returns to deliver hard strikes on the heels. Hart hista aBaseball Slide on Nicho, and a Hartsault on KENTA. Lider also lands outisde, and Tiger hits a Corkscrew Attack on him. Nicho is is out, and Evans hits his Cartwheel Dive. Back in the ring, KENTA hits a series of diverse suplexes on Hart, but Nikki distracts him. Lider attacks Hart, but Evans surprises him with his aerial moves. Gordbuster by Nicho on Evans, but Tiger joins the battle. Hart hits the SSP on Lider, and Evans hits a Senton. KENTA and Tiger do a series of awesome double team moves on everyone. The champions are back on track, and they assault the tecnicos. Nicho brings the ladder, and chaos is just seconds away. Hart hits a Russian Legsweep on Nicho off the ladder. Electric Chair by Lider on Hart off the ladder. KENTA climbs, but Evans stops him. Both Tiger and KENTA climb the ladder, but the ladder is pushed. The champions climb two ladder, but the Harts attack them. Evans is just seconds away from the belts, but Nicho pushes the ladder. Lider catches Tiger and drives him into a ladder. Evans hits the 630 on KENTA, but the champions return. Evans has the belts on his hands, but Lider climbs and the ladder breaks. Lider is on a better ladder, and "retrieves the belts'.

Winners and STILL champions: Joe Lider & Nicho el Millonario

Great.......

3) Konnan, Electroshock & El Padrino vs. Mesias, Alan Stone & Abismo Negro

-Only Fall: Do I have to keep calling these matches, even in 2009? Anyway, match starts as usual, with the Legion ambushing the tecnicos. The comeback begins, and the tecnicos attack the Legion with hard blows.Konnan lowblows Mesias, and argues with the referee. However, Mesias rolls him for the pinfall.

Winners: Mesias, Alan Stone & Abismo Negro

-Aftermath: The Vipers return just to attack Abismo, and the Legion joins in. However, the AAArmy also arrives to aid their partners. The Legionna and the Vipers flee from the ring. Konnan tells Mesias that his new team sucks. Konnna's team is better, but Mesias says that he has AAA and the fans. Konnan says all the titles, masks and hairs of the AAArmy will soon fall in the hands of the Legion. Mesias promises to retire Konnan in 2009.

Saying good bye to 2008 and ringing in 2009 in basically the same way. Great they really need to either add to they're roster (and by that I mean with luchadores from Mexico and not foreigners) because the same damn people are going against each other week after week after week. Come on AAA give us something fresh here your killing me with these repeat matches. What in the blue hell is up with the run in's during all the Legion matches anyway? That is getting waay old as well, can we have one freakin Legion match with out a damn run in by some other Legion members at the end?

FINAL COMMENTS: Overall, a decent show. Opener was decent, keeping the Chessman-Charlie feud, with Zorro still wondering from rivalry to rivalry. The ladder mtahc started good, but ended bad. AAA has the most horrible and dangerous ladder matches I've ever seen. They need to contact WWE to get their ladders, because the ladders AAA uses can hurt someone really bad. The Harts needs those titles NOW! KENTA was a nice addition to the match as well. The return of Abismo was badly booked, but is great to have another big star back. The Vipers came back as well, because if there's no Abismo, then the Vipers are nothing. I really hate El Padrino. Arturo Rivera said in commentary that he looks like "John Cena", but I'm sure he meant Batista. He also said, that unlike "Cena", Padrino was way better. Well, in my view, Padrino is a horrible and cheap clone of Batisa. Padrino has no charisma, no skills, and he's bad. Hopefully this show gets better during this year.

By the way, if your satellite/cable provider carries the spanish channel "LATV", then you are lucky, because that channel picked up the CMLL show that used to air on FSE. Unfortunately, I don't have access to that channel, so I will not be calling CMLL, until I get the channel. How sad!

Thanks!!

Never really been a fan of Niebla although I think the little dancing thing he does is actually hilarious. But it is never a good thing to see any luchadore end up in the hospital. I hope everythin is okay...

If I were Volador I wouldn't bother, he hasn't actually been on a great streak with titles he is better off not accepting......

NEWS

Canek stated today that Dr. Wagner Jr. is getting to the stage of his career that he should start teaching wrestlers instead of actually wrestling because his quality is being lowered facing the wrestlers he has been facing lately due to him not taking his work seriously. Canek said that Wagner should be in a position like Atlantis where he is teaching guys like Mistico to become better wrestlers during the matches instead of working guys older than him every night. Canek also said that Wagner should hit the gym too because he has gotten lazy and that he isn’t meeting the expectations that the fans have of him when they pay their money to see him in action. Canek then threw down yet another challenge to Wagner for his UWA Heavyweight Title saying that he is ready for any date that the match gets booked on even with his right knee troubles that he is still feeling after having surgery nine months ago.

Maybe Wagner is like Hogan? Can't let go of past glory and wants it all to himself no matter how old he gets.....

Speaking of the good Doctor, he talked about his brother Silver King joining up with La Legion Extranjera today and said that there would be no way that he would be joining that group because he is 100% Mexican. Doc said that he knows his brother is a winner and has his own goals but he would be on opposite sides whenever he works AAA spot shows beginning in March. Wagner said that he is carrying Mexico on his back when he battles La Legion and that he would defeat any member of that group even his brother.

Well thats good, because all I have to say about La Legion is :yousuck: The only good one out of the whole group is Zorro and I look forward to him taking over the goup and actually making it worth watching.

Superstar Billy Graham now has something in common with Explosivo as both men have been reported dead in the media but were falsely reported and still alive. Tony Salazar told Box y Lucha this week that Explosivo is very much alive and didn’t die in a car accident but was on vacation in Cancun instead over the holidays. The inicial report came out a few weeks ago as someone “close” to Explosivo reported on the Box y Lucha message board that he had died and there was never any solid confirmation until Salazar finally got a hold to him. Explosivo has opened up a restaurant in the southside of Mexico City and that Salazar had been trying to contact him for a while now but Explosivo had his cellphone number changed so he couldn’t keep in touch with his former student and friend but now that problem has been solved and he wants to help Explosivo get back in EMLL rings once again.

Thats bad when people are saying you died and you actually haven't. Thats when you should start either thinking of a return or at least letting people know your sitll alive and kicking somehow.....

Groon XXX told Box y Lucha that it’s tough setting at home in Neza right now but his rehab is going better than expected and that 10 days after leaving the hospital, he has a lot of energy and will be eating back to normal this week. Groon said that he has been on a strict diet of chicken, non salty foods, vegetables, fruits, non spicy foods, non greasy foods, no milk, no red meats, no eggs, and lots of water. Groon said that his doctors have told him that if he keeps up the pace that he is working at that he would be ready to return to the ring earlier that is expected which would be next year. Groon once again said that he was planned to make an appearance for a big promotion on 1/31 (AAA) and that this health problem has been a setback in his return to TV but God had a different mission for him and only he knows why he does what he does. Groon said though that this major promotion has told him that they will keep their agreement with him and when he is ready to return to the ring, there would be a spot for him. Groon said that he is going to rehab with his first doctor he had when he entered the business and that in time he would regain the physique he had when he first debuted. Groon also sent his thanks to everyone who has emailed him and that his family appreciates everything that his compadres in the business has done to help as well. Groon said that Dr. Wagner Jr,. Hijo del Solitario, Intocable, & L.A. Par-K are in the process of organizing a benefit show at Arena Azteca Budokan and a date should be announced soon.

Well good for him, like I stated before there is nothing more important than your health. Hopefully he will make a speedy recovery and be able to work sooner than expected....

AAA TV report from Galavision
AAA on Galavision
By: Xavier Hernandez
Show aired on: 02/07/2009

The show opesn with a summary of last week's show. Mesias has officially joined AAA to take down the Legion. Chessman wants the title, but he also wants feuds with Charlie Manson and Vampiro. The Hermandad retained the titles once again, in a crappy ladder match. Abismo Negro made his long awaited return in the main event, and won the match. For this show, another epic main event, which will have AAA vs. Legion. Plus, the Psycho Circus joins forces with Chessman, and more.

*Pretaped Segment: Waltman is talking to D-Mex, and he says he still can't forget what Zorro did to him at GdT. Now Zorro has awaken the beast within Waltman. D-Mex says the show at Guanajuato will be the day of payback, and no member of the Legion will survive after that show. Waltman wants Zorro's blood, no matter what.

D-MEX should GO AWAY.....

1) Mini Charlie Manson, Octagoncito & Mascarita Sagrada vs. Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Psicosis & Mini Histeria

-Only Fall: The heels start off with the triple team ambush on the tecnicos. Quick comeback by the tecnicos, with tons of aerial maneuvers. The tecnicos do many pinning attempts, but the referee refuses to do a fast count. Psicosis lands outside, and Octagoncito hits a Hilo between the ropes. Abismo is also out, and Mascarita uses a Diving Hurricanrana. Histeria misses a shoulder block, and Manson connects with a Diving Crossbody. In the ring, Octagoncito applies a good Small Package to pin Psicosis.

Winners: Mini Charlie Manson, Octagoncito & Mascarita Sagrada

-Aftermath: Lider and Nicho hit the ring to destroy every mini in sight. The Hermandad cuts a promo, and say they want to finish the Hart Foundation. Konnan has not respected the deal between the Legion and the Hermandad, so the deal is over, and the Hermandad are on their own again. This statement brings Konnan out to the ring. Konnan insults the crowd, and calls them starving homeless, so he throws food at them. Konnan tells the Hermandad, that the Harts will never challenge for the titles again, as long as the Hermandad are champions. Konnan gives both men an envelope, with their next mission and more money. 187 and both sides are happy again.

Mini Charly Manson is so cool. I think he is awesome. The mini's in general are really great period.

The Hermandad should GO AWAY. Because.....:yousuck: God I love that smilie....In the initial report it said Konnan was with them to beat the mini's guess not......Anyhoo I don't know why they bothere having Joe Lider try to go out on his own he sucked when he was with the Mexican Powers and his fortunes haven't changed much, especially having Nicho as a partner. Who's bright idea was it to have these two team up anyway?

2) Pirata Morgan, Hijo del Pirata & Espectro de Ultratumba vs. Laredo Kid, El Angel & Pimpinela Escarlata

-Only Fall: Both sides begin with equal offense, until the rudos start the triple team attack. Quick comeback by the tecnicos, and the rudos are assaulted badly. Tons of near falls from both sides, and the crowd seems to be into Laredo. Espectro and Laredo are left alone in the ring. Laredo misses a Phoenix Splash, and Espectro connects with a modified Uranage submission. Laredo passes out.

Winners: Pirata Morgan, Hijo del Pirata & Espectro de Ultratumba

Congrats to those guys and we're movin on....

*Noti AAA:
-A scene from last week's show. Abismo apologized to Porky for his bad behavior, and wants to be friends with him now. Porky gladly accpets the apology, and apparenlty we have a new alliance.
-Mini Charlie Manson had surgery on his nose, so we wish him a speedy recovery.
-Interview with Mesias. He simply repeats what he said during last week's show. Apologies to the mexican crowd, and promises to destroy Konnan and his legion. Mesias likes to earn things such as titles, and respect from the people. Konnan is about to suffer at the hands of his worst nightmare: Mesias.
-Guess what, keys are still beign collected for the statue. I can't belive they're still doing that.
-Nicho and Lider lock Vampiro in a room.

So last week (I think it was) Abismo has no friends and didn't really seem like he wanted any and now he does? Wow a lot changes in a few weeks time. But why Super Porky? I mean really what can Super Porky bring to any team/alliance? Why couldn't they have had Abismo work with someone else, this is a waste of his talent I think.

I too hope Mini Charly Manson has a speedy recovery and is in the ring soon. He is the Mini's Champion after all. When is he going to defend that belt anyway?

Still not feeling Mesias as a tecnico. Just doesn't seem right although he seems to have gotten in better shape physically which is good. He is just way better as a rudo and not sucking up to the crowd like he has been.

Keys are still being collected for the statue to Antonio Pena? Wow they have been doing that for a loooong time....I hate to say it but if they haven't gotten enough keys by now chances are they never will and they should just forget it......

Wow they lock Vampiro in a room? For what? When? Explanation please? This seems like a childish thing to do when it isn't given an explantion. Thats why I say to the Hermandad :schild13:

3) La Hermandad (Joe Lider & Nicho El Millonario) vs. Extreme Tiger & KENTA

-Only Fall: Nicho and Lider are wrestling with their title belts on, that's original. KENTA and Nicho start off with basic submission holds. Hard strikes by KENTA on Nicho, and Tiger tags in. Lider is blinded by the aerial arsenal from Tiger. The heels snap, and the double team attack begins. Chairs are brought in to attack the tecnicos. Tiger begins the comeback, and KENTA aids him with his hard kicks. Tiger does his classic Air Tiger on Lider. In the ring, KENTA hits the GTS on Lider, but Tiger accidentally kicks the referee. Nicho lowblows Tiger, and then fakes a lowblows himself. The referee awards the DQ victory to the Hermandad.

Winners (DQ): Joe Lider & Nicho El Millonario (x)
Winners (Reversed Decison): Extreme Tiger & KENTA

-Aftermath: Vampiro hits the ring to talk to the referee. The the referee reverses the decision.

4) Chessman, Psycho, Zombie & Killer Clown vs. Black Family (Ozz, Cuervo, Scoria & Spiritu)

-Only Fall: The Family kick off with an early group attack on the tecnicos. The clowns make the long awaited comeback, and the series of botched moves has been unleashed. The Family uses a series of aerial moves to slow the clowsn down. Chessman connects a 450 Splash on Scoria for the pin.

Winners: Chessman, Psycho, Zombie & Killer Clown

-Atermath: Vampiro arrives once again, to congratulate the clowns and Chessman. Since the clowsn are showing that they are future stars of AAA, and since Chessman is already a world class wrestler, Vampiro has given them a shot at the Mexican Atomic titles. Vampiro doesn't want problems with Chessman, and offer him a handshake. Chessman spits a liquid at him, and Chessman doesn't believe that crap. Chessman will never associate himself with Vampiro, and even teases Vampiro. The crowd is behind Vampiro, but he refuses to hit Chessman.

Lol I never got to see this on youtube because it was never uploaded but if this match was that bad I would have loved to hsve seen it. Especially since Chessman was involved and he is one of the best on the roster. Well I am glad Chessman is showing he isn't one to be persuaded by flattery. Way to go Chessman!

*Pretaped Segment: Zorro hands Konnan the treasury report to Konnan, but there is nothing more but wrong papers, and a letter to Enrique Torres (Zorro's horse). Zorro wants the blood of Waltman off him, and runs from the room. Konnan names Electro the nw Treasury guy, because he has other plans to take care of. Parka says he's glad to have Mesias on his side now, and recognizes him as the best wrestler. With Latin and Mesias next to him, Parka will be unstoppable, and Konnan is done.

Zorro gave Konnan a letter to his horse! I love it! I have to say I really love this new angle for Zorro where he is crazy, I think they chose well when they gave to him because nobody else could have pulled it off as well as he has been.
Mesias is a very good wrestler but I would hardly call him the best wrestler. One of the best but not the best. I am a huge Mesias fan (He's in my sig for crying out loud) but thats over doing it I think witht he praise there La Parka....

5) Mesias, La Parka & Latin Lover vs. Konnan, Zorro & Electroshock

-Only Fall: I still refuse to call these repetitive main events, sorry. Legion ambush, tecnico comeback, Zorro and Electro make many mistakes, Hermandad attacks Mesias, Hermandad slams Mesias into a table, tecnicos are destroyed, Konnan covers Parka, and it's over.

Winners: Konnan, Zorro & Electroshock

And so I refuse to comment...except for stating I refuse to comment...which is fact commenting but thats niether here nor there....at least in my world.....:lmao:

I hope its okay to put this on here but Alfredo over at luchaworld has his list of the 100 best luchadores of 2008. I wanted to put this on here so that everyone could get a good idea of who the luchadores (at least some of them) are. So here it goes:

Written By Alfredo Esparza

Once again, time for a new list. The Luchaworld.com 100 for 2008 consists of the luchadores who I felt were the best this past year. Again a reminder that the list is NOT workrate exclusive. (I kind if wish it had been then we would have had a very different list lol) My selections are based on what I particularly enjoy in lucha libre (work rate, mic skills, charisma, and fan reaction) as well as the opportunity each wrestler received in 2008. Each luchador listed made the list because of at least one particular quality I mentioned.

The list will be released 10 at a time over the next couple of days leading up to the #1 luchador in 2008.

100. El Elegido - Spent the majority of the year in a feud with Pirata Morgan, due to Morgan’s dislike of his dancing and his ‘pretty boy’ image. He also sided with Super Porky (Brazo de Plata) in his feud with El Brazo & Los Guapos VIP (later Los Metrosexuales) and also was part of the regular crew that defended AAA against Konnan’s Foreign Legion. All three feuds culminated at Guerra de Titanes with a steel cage match were the loser would drop his hair or mask. El Elegido helped El Guapito climb out of the cage, leaving El Brazo to lose his hair and dignity. Not a good worker, but his build and strip-dancing skills is a major attraction for the women.

99. Pequeño (mini) Olimpico - One of the many mini luchadores who outshined their bigger counterparts this year. Solid tecnico, who spent the majority of the year battling Los Cachorros del Mal, primarily in parejas and trios matches with regular teammates, Mascarita Dorada, Ultimo Dragoncito and Bam Bam. Good high-flyer, but doesn’t have the death-defying moves (due to size) or charisma that many of the other mini tecnicos have in CMLL.

98. Mr. Aguila - Member of Los Perros Del Mal. Teams mostly with Damian 666. When El Hijo del Perro Aguayo quit CMLL to start his own promotion, Mr. Aguila and Damian 666 remained in CMLL for about a month. Then they also left and joined Promociones Perros Del Mal. Best suited for trios and tag team matches were he can showcase his highspots. Doesn’t really do as well in singles matches.

97. Mike “El Suicida” Segura/Aeroman - Worked in 2008 under his name in the independent circuit in Mexico, but in IWRG worked as the masked “Aeroman”. Very easy to figure out that Segura was under the hood, but still nice to see IWRG re-package him in a new gimmick following a somewhat chaotic 2007 when IWRG ’suspended’ several of their locals due to working an alleged ‘outlaw’ show. Was part of several trios lineups that battled Los Oficiales. On 5/29/08, he lost to Freelance in a match for the IWRG IC Light Heavyweight Title. Continues to provide his brand of high-flying, death-defying moves at Arena Naucalpan!

96. Rey Hechicero - The top local rudo in Nuevo Leon, replacing Super Parka for that spot in 2008. Held the WWA Middleweight Title in early 2008 which included a defense against Valiente. Also feuded with Tigre Universitario, who he lost the title to in April. Competed in the Ruleta de la Muerte on 12/18 and was suppose to be in the finals, but suffered an ‘injury’ at the hands of Misterioso II. There were some rumors prior to the match that Rey Hechicero was the one who was going to lose his mask at this show, so in all likelihood they decided to swerve~! the fans. His look is somewhat similar to that of the current rudo Atlantis. Well-rounded rudo. Would make a nice addition to either CMLL or AAA.

95. Turbo - Trained by Skayde (Jorge Rivera). In Mexico, he worked primarily in IWRG and various independents. In fact, he’s a virtual lock to be working the 3rd or 4th match for some of the better known indies in Mexico. He has also toured Japan most notably for Dragon Gate. Also made appearances in the U.S. for Chikara. Was a participant in the NWA Light Heavyweight tournament. A very talented high-flyer.

94. Texano Jr. - Second-generation wrestler, who finished 2008 as a member of the CMLL faction known as “La Jauria del Terror” or “Los Hijos Del A Ver No” (take your pick as far as what name they used most). Was previously a member of Los Perros del Mal for most of 2008. Won the hair of Heavy Metal in an elimination cage match as he was the last one to escape, leaving Metal in the ring. Also teamed frequently with El Terrible and on 8/26/08 won the Occidente Tag Team Titles in Guadalajara.

93. Decnnis - Probably best known for being a part of various AAA factions such as Los Barrio Boys, Los Guapos VIP and in 2008 with Los Metrosexuales. Along with Scorpio Jr., won a cage match to qualify for Rey de Reyes, where he lost in the semifinals. When El Brazo joined Los Guapos VIP, AAA shot a great vignette were Los Guapos VIP beat down Super Porky (Brazo de Plata) and then road off in an SUV (vignette brought back memories of the Four Horsemen, except you’d never see Arn or Ole have a midget sitting on their lap in the getaway car! Although a mini Ole would fuckin’ rule!). Los Guapos VIP had some sort of money or lack of opportunity/push disagreement with AAA and all, but El Brazo, decided to quit the company. Scorpio Jr. and Zumbido landed in IWRG and it appeared like Decnis and El Guapito would join them there. Then the great El Guapito caper began during the summer. For about TWO WEEKS El Guapito kept changing his mind. One day he’d be heading to IWRG, next day he’d say he wanted to go back to AAA, then he’d say he was loyal to the other Guapos VIP, then he’d say, he was loyal to AAA. Decnis made his decision to return to AAA sooner than El Guapito. Finally, El Guapito returned and reunited with Decnis and El Brazo as Los Metrosexuales, thus ending 2-weeks worth of memorable news updates by Kris Zellner and thecubsfan! Decnis has shown good charisma and is pretty good in the ring and has great chemistry with El Guapito.

On a side note, I am still trying to figure out what in the blue hell a metrosexual is, if anyone knows please tell me.....

92. Cerebro Negro - A regular in IWRG. Happens to be very good in singles, tag team and trios matches. Along with Dr. Cerebro, they have become one of the best tag teams in Mexico’s independent circuit, primarily in Arena Naucalpan. Has held practically every title in IWRG. Was part of the feud with Los Gemelos Fantasticos, which ended with Cerebro Negro and Dr. Cerebro taking the twins hair. Seems to be a big John Cena fan as he uses his intro and at times dresses like him. Very good worker and a part of the great core group of locals in Naucalpan.

91. Skayde - Also wrestled under his real name Jorge Rivera. Best known for being a trainer in Mexico and primarily for Ultimo Dragon’s Toryumon. Wrestled primarily on the independent circuit in Mexico, but he also traveled outside of the country and worked shows in the US (primarily for Chikara) and Japan (Dragon Gate). Won a tournament to become the NWA Light Heavyweight Champion. He’s one of those guys who has developed a fan following amongst hardcore fans (smarks), wrestling insiders, and fellow wrestlers.

90. Solar I - Veteran tecnico has seen a bit of a renaissance in his career as for years he primarily reappeared in reunions with his fellow Space Cadets teammates, Ultraman and Super Astro, and worked on various shows that seemed to go unnoticed. The trio continues to reunite for various shows. However, in 2008 his matches with Negro Navarro have become a staple for various indy groups and have brought Solar back to the forefront of lucha libre. They wrestled each other fairly regularly and the matches have been described as ‘exhibitions of classic lucha libre’. He also traveled outside of Mexico. Most notably working the Lucha Libre London shows.

89. Vampiro - Returned to AAA in June 2008 as Joaquin Roldan’s surprise for Konnan and the Foreign Legion. Soon found himself feuding with an old rival from Puerto Rico, El Mesias. They had a wild cage match at Verano de Escandalo. There were rumors that some of the upper echelon stars in AAA were upset at the number of foreigners joining the promotion and many seemed to dislike Vampiro. One rumor had Vampiro asking to work with the younger talent since there seemed to be issues with several veterans. Then there was a rumor of Cibernetico and Chessman threatening Vampiro backstage at a show with the rumor escalating to a possible ‘knife’ being involved. That rumor seemed to die down when Vampiro decided to retire due to injuries. When Konnan gained control of AAA, Joaquin Roldan decided to give him yet another surprise by announcing a new commissioner in AAA, who turned out to be Vampiro.

For those that are curious this is the Vampiro that wrestled in WCW and WSX.

88. Lady Apache - Missed 6 months due to knee surgery. Made her return in late May. Immediately began feuding with Amapola. Beat Amapola in a hair match at the 8/29 PPV. She then challenged for the CMLL Women’s Title, which resulted in a loss for Lady Apache against Amapola. She’s still in the mix when it comes to challenging for either women’s title (CMLL or National), but seems to have been surpassed by at least 4-5 women in 2008 and with CMLL continuing to add more women to the division there is no telling what her position will be for the entirety of 2009 and beyond.

87. Fuerza Guerrera - Another veteran rudo who experienced a bit of a career revival in 2008. Worked in several independents, but was frequently in IWRG. There in IWRG, he was involved in a feud with fellow rudo Black Terry. He took Black Terry’s IWRG IC Welterweight Title, Hair and HUMBLED~! him during this feud. Had some matches against his son, Juventud Guerrera (mostly in tag or trios matches), despite both claiming, they wouldn’t wrestle against each other. Known worldwide for his surliness and being a total bad-ass, Fuerza entered thirty years of being in the business in 2008. One of the best rudos of the past 30 years.

86. Oriental - Won the AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles with his sister, Cinthia Moreno at Verano de Escandalo. They spent most of the year feuding with the Apache Family over those belts. Strangely enough, when teaming with his sister, he works as a rudo, but when he’s not tagging with his sister, he works as a tecnico. Has had numerous tours of Japan in his career. One of the better luchadores in AAA.

Wish he had gotten a better ranking but at least he made the list...

85. Brazo de Plata - Also known as Super Porky. One of the most charismatic and sympathetic characters in all of lucha libre. He’s not anywhere near the worker he was in his prime as he’s gotten older and heftier. However, no one in lucha can play the sympathy card quite like Super Porky. His brother, El Brazo, turned on him and attacked him with the help of Los Guapos VIP. El Brazo’s reasoning for this attack was that he hated ‘fat people’ and took it out on his own brother. This was a funny angle because if you’re not family with Los Brazos, all the brothers are fat. To build up the Brazos feud, AAA ran a storyline that Super Porky was depressed and wanted to retire, but a group of wrestlers joined up to talk him out of retiring. It was quite the odd group as it consisted of El Alebrije w/ Cuije, El Elegido, Pimpinela Escarlata and others. He decided to not retire and instead feuded with his brother and was able to get a laugh at the expense of him when El Brazo lost his hair in a cage match at Guerra de Titanes.

84. Felino - The most underutilized of the Casas brothers currently in CMLL. Also married to CMLL female wrestler, Princesa Blanca and is also the father of CMLL newcomer, Kid Tiger. Frequently teamed with his brothers in 2008. Spent the first half of the year as a tecnico. In August, he became a rudo and joined his brothers and Mr. Niebla to form “La Peste Negra”. Changed his look to an all black outfit (although he also wears black and white gear as well) to show he was now evil. Known for years as having cat-quick reflexes and working a fast-paced style of match.

83. Cuervo - Long-time member of AAA’s Black Family/La Secta. Held the Mexican National Atomicos titles (4-person team) with the other members of La Secta throughout 2008. In the past 2 years AAA seems to be moving Ozz to the front of the group, while Cuervo and Scoria are in the background and Espiritu is even further behind them. Spent the year battling various factions in AAA. Turned on El Mesias thanks to Chessman, who later turned on La Secta to side with the Psycho Circus. Cuervo is more of a highflyer, who also gets involved in brawls due to working the confusing atomicos matches.

At least he has moved up a few spots since his last ranking but I still wish he had gotten a better ranking than this too...

82. Lizmark Jr. - Second generation wrestler who never fully lived up to his father’s legacy in the ring. Had a feud with Marco Corleone in CMLL that included a hair match between the two. Lizmark Jr. lost the match. Never seemed to join any of the rudo factions in CMLL as he seemed to team with various rudos in trios matches. Add him to the list of top contenders to the Heavyweight Title, who didn’t seem to get a shot in 2008.

I'm surprised he even got a ranking....

81. Gato Eveready - Fun character that is played by former Barrio Boy, Alan. While, as a Barrio Boy he was thoroughly disliked by almost everyone online, the same folks who hated him then love him now under the hood. Seriously, I can’t think of anyone who more folks online did a complete 180 on that wrestles in AAA. Does a real good job in the ring as a tecnico and is always fun in whatever trios match he is in. Was involved in the Alas de Oro match in 2008.

Xavier over at the wrestling observer has posted his latest AAA Galavision report. Here it is folks!

AAA on Galavision TV report
AAA on Galavision
By: Xavier Hernandez
Show aired on : 02/14/2009

Show opens as usual with summary of last week's show. Konnan throws food at the fans, and makes a new deal with the Hermandad. The clowns are still undefeated, up to 251 straight wins. We had yet, another classic main event, where Konnan and the Legion destroyed the AAArmy. For today, the clowns and Chessman challenge the Black Family for the Atomic titles, plus another exciting edition of AAA's TV main event match.

*Promo Video: review of how Mesias turned face, and joined the AAArmy to face Konnan and the legion. (I still can't believe how the fans in Mexico buy the Mesias faceturn).

And niether can I.....

*In-Ring Segment: Zorro is in the mic, with the legion next to him. Zorro can't believe how excited the fans are to hear what the prophet has to say. But Zorro says he's not crazy enough to waste his energy talking to hundreds of mummies (note Gunanajuato is famous for their mummies). Konna grabs the mic to unsult the crowd, and says they're full of crap. Konnan addresses Vampiro, and he's tired of him messing his business.Konnan says Vampiro is blocking him from bringing in new stars from other countries. Konnan says the Legion is still dominating everything, but this brings Mesias out. He says fans came to see wrestling, and not a bald guy talking trash. Mesias tells Konnan and his crew to leave the ring, but Konnan challenges Mesias to kick them out himself. The Legion is assaulted by D-Mex, and there you have it. Waltman tells Zorro he'll have his blood tonight. Konnan says they made a big mistake by attacking him from behind. Mesias says the war just started, and claims this is Konnan's last year in the business.

*Promo Video: This one hypes the feud between Zorro and Sean Waltman. (Actually, I believe this feud have been nicely booked, but I don't think it will be an exciting one, when it comes to in-ring performance).

You and me both buddy.....

1) Poder del Norte (Tigre Cota, Tito Santana & Rio Bravo) vs. RFA (Laredo Kid, El Angel & Aerostar)

-Only Fall: Early dives from everyone, including Aerostar's Springboard Comet. Tecnicos use a variety of aerial moves to dominatre the rudos. Poder gets tired, and they they start the triple team attack. Tecnicos make the comeback, with heavy strikes. Laredo hits his Step Hilo on Bravo, and Angel hits a Diving Crossbody. Tigre and Tito follows them with more Hilos. Aerostar closes with his Meteor Senton. In the ring, Tigre misses the Lionsault, and Laredo puts him away with a Brainbuster. 450 Splash by Laredo, but someone breaks the pin. It's none other than the incredible Billy Boy. This causes the referee to award the DQ.

Winners (DQ): Laredo Kid, El Angel & Aerostar

This was a decent match not the best I have seen from RFA. But then imho they haven't been able to work very well with anyone except La Secta when Chessman was a part of that group.

*Pretaped Segment: Billy cuts a promo. He says he was tired of supporting the Apaches, and he's tired of beign rejected by Fabi. Their actions have just awaken the monster within Billy, and his new goal id to destroy the Apaches, because they're worthless, and they deserve it.On the other hand, El Apache is mad because Billy betrayed his family. Fabi says she's going to destroy Billy, but daddy says he'll take care of Billy himself.(Will this feud ever end?)

Its been going on since 07 so the likely hood of that happening anytime soon would be a no...

2) Los Apaches (El Apache, Mari Apache & Fabi Apache) vs. Billy Boy, El Oriental & Cinthia Moreno

-Only Fall: Billy flees from the Apaches, which is a good way to start his new heel persona. The heels snap, and we have the classic triple team attack. Oriental accidentally dropkicks his sister, and the comeback begins. Apache also snapped, and he slaps everyone, including his own daughters. The rudos take control back, and they use heavy strikes. Apache is bleeding buckets, and the ladies cannot help their father, Oriental uses a Falling Headbutt on Apaceh, and Billy puts his foot over for the three count.

Winners: Billy Boy, El Oriental & Cinthia Moreno

-Aftermath: The Apache girls attack Billy, but Poder del Norte arrives to help Billy. The Apache family is destroyed, and el Apache got the worst part.

At least I got to see Oriental........

*Noti AAA:
-The AAA website is renewed and updated everyday. Based on a poll, Guadalajara might be the place of RdR 2009. (To be honest, I've never visited the site)
I have! And I like it!

-El Fresero, just had his 50th anniversary as a referee, and celebrated his farewell show with many AAA stars. He'll be now a promoter.
-Konnan just made a new deal with Hermandad, and they have a new target, assigned by Konnan.
-Reminder, to bring the keys for the statue of Antonio Pena.

*Pretaped Segment: Zorro talks with the Harts and Nikki. Zorro says the world is crazy enough to desire his own blood. Zorro says he didn't like how Konnan handled the D-Mex, so next time he'll take care of them on his own. Evans says the Harts are 100% behind Zorro, because they are sick and tired of D-Mex. Nikki wants to know whats up with the mask Zorro holds, and he simply says it's something beautiful.

What was cool about this segment was that they had Zorro speak in english when he talked to Hart/Evans. Now i am wondering if he is going to put the mask back on. That might actually be interesting. He also said the time is near for what I have no idea, maybe for him to take over La Legion? Maybe at Rey de Reyes? Or Triplemania?

3) D-Generation Mex (X-Pac, Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov) vs. Zorro, Teddy Hart & Jack Evans (w/Nikki)

-Only Fall: Waltman wants Zorro badly, but he gets Teddy instead. Zorro and Shadow kick off with fast paced moves. Everyone gets a chance to do their own moves, but suddenly the heels start the triple team attack. Zorro now attacks his new rival Waltman with a Triangle dropkick. the comeback begins with dropkicks from both Romero and Koslov. Tons of near falls from both sides, but they keep breaking them. Evans hits his Cartwheel Dive, but Romero dodges. Teddy connects with a Moonsault, and so does Koslvo with a Springboard Elbow. The referee check on everyone outside, and Zorro capitalizes to pull his kendo stick. Zorro accidentally hits the referee, and waltman takes the kendo. The referee sees the kendo in Waltman's hands, and assumes he hit him. The DQ is awarded.

Winners (DQ): Zorro, Teddy Hart & Jack Evans

*Promo Video: This one hypes how Chessman abandoned AAA, and took the clowns with him. Vampiro has been rpovoked by Chessman, but his status as a comissioner doesn't allow him to fight Chessman back. Vampiro says Chessman is a selfish person, who only complains for everything. Chessman is not well liked by everyone, and that hurts Chessman as a star. On the other hand, the Black Family tell the clowns that they are undefeated when it comes to title matches. They know Chessman perfectly, so it won't make a difference for the clowns. When it's all set and done, the Family will remain champions. The clowns say they are the best team in AAA, and they can already feel the belts on their waists. Chessman says Roldan will regret turning his back on the four of them. Chessman says Vampiro and Mesias suck because they are not Mexican. Chessman and the clowns are nothing more but victims.

Victims? Really?

4) Mexican National Atomic Championship
Ozz, Cuervo, Scoria & Spiritu (c) vs. Psycho Clown, Killer Clown, Zombie Clown & Chessman

-Only Fall: The Family starts off with the early ambush on the tecnicos. Chessman tries to bring a chair, but the heels take from him to use it as their own weapon. Chessman finally makes the comeback with many backbreakers and spears. Chessman misses the 450 Splash, and the Family attacks again. Chessman is pinned, but he's not the captain. Scoria tries to springboard, but he slips, and the comeback begins. The clowns attack the injured leg of Scoria. Looks like the injury is serious, since a doctor is checking on Scoria, and he's taken on a stretcher. The clowns take full controol of the match. Both Ozz and Psycho socre pinfalls, at the same time, so Spiritu and Killer and out. Psycho misses a Plancha, and Ozz hits the Rolling Cutter. Tornillo by Ozz, but Pyscho kicks out. Powerslam by Psycho, and the pinfall is scored.

Winners and NEW Champions: Psycho Clown, Killer Clown, Zombie Clown & Chessman

What made me mad about this match was that I tried to watch it on youtube and they went through the first part of the match, then to a commercial, and then to a promo where Chessman and los Payasos had the belts! I missed the entire second half of the match and won't get to see it for awhile! WHACK!!!!! Anyoo I am glad they put the belts on these guys (even if it was for the real short term) and I wish they would have kept them as the Atomico's champs.

-Aftermath: Vampiro comes with the belts in his handsm but the Family stops him from entering the ring. The clowsn and Chessman get the belts, and the Family attacks Vampiro. The clowns try to help Vampiro, but Chessman spears Vampiro. The RFA comes to the rescue, but they're not match for the clowns and Chessman. Vampiro is destroyed. After the match, the clowns say the titles are proof of their greatness as a team. Chessman says this is the beginning of the end for the Legion. They are after the world titles, hairs and masks. After all, Chessman and the clowns are nothing more but victims, but they are also the best AAA has.

*Pretaped Segment: Abismo and Parka talk. Abismo says there is only one Abismo, and the Vipers are done. But Abyss better leave, or Abismo will destroy him. Parka says he's after Electro. Mesias joins in, and says the AAArmy is stronger than ever. Mesias will not rest until Roldan retakes control of the company. Whether you like it or not.

5) Konnan, Electroshock & Black Abyss vs. Mesias, La Parka & Abismo Negro

-Only Fall: Guess what, I still refuse to call these matches, that have nothing more but repetitive patterns, week after week. Legion attacks the tecnicos, then the comeback starts, then Konnan is smashed into a chair, and Mesias picks up the pinfall.

Winners: Mesias, La Parka & Abismo Negro

Aftermath: The rest of the Legion arrives to destroy the tecnicos, and I missed the last few minutes after that. Sorry!

80. Scoria - Member of AAA’s La Secta/Black Family. More of a highflyer, but also has become a brawler due to the types of matches he’s usually involved in. Mostly wrestled in trios and atomicos matches. Held the Mexican National Atomicos Titles with the other members of La Secta throughout 2008. Switched from following El Mesias, to Chessman, and late in the year they became henchmen for Konnan.

Again I am disappointed with the ranking but am happy he at least made it....

79. Dark Angel - Very popular Canadian-born female wrestler. She’s fluent in Spanish, so that has opened the doors for her in CMLL (well that and the fact she’s attractive, helped as well!). She also competed in the bodybuilding competitions that CMLL holds annually. In March 2008, she challenged for the CMLL Women’s title, but lost to Amapola. Mostly competed in trios matches. Very good worker.

78. La Parka (AAA) - AAA star that often gets confused for the original La Parka (now known as L.A. Park) and also referred to as ‘La Parka Jr.’ to differentiate between the two. He’s not as good as L.A. Park, but has had a pretty good career as he’s been pushed as one of the top tecnicos in AAA for the last several years. After several injury-filled years, 2008 seemed to go smoother for him. He spent most of the year battling the Foreign Legion and has a long-running feud with Kenzo Suzuki. Also holds the Mexican National Tag Team Titles with Octagon. He’s known more as an entertainer with his dancing and playing to the crowd than his wrestling.

77. Mari Apache - Daughter of veteran luchador, Gran Apache, and the sister of Fabi Apache. She spent most of her career prior to 2007 wrestling in Japan (ARSION). In 2007, she became involved with the Apache family feud, siding with her father against sister, Fabi, and brother-in-law, Billy Boy. Held the AAA Mixed Tag Team titles with Gran Apache and the two feuded with Fabi and Billy Boy, as well as with El Oriental and Cinthia Moreno over the belts. The Mari vs. Fabi feud came to an end at Triplemania were Mari lost a hair match to Fabi and at the end of the match both embraced and forgave each other. The Apaches continued to feud with The Moreno family for the remainder of the year.

76. Pierrothito - Long-time mini version of Pierroth. Veteran rudo had a great run in 2008 as CMLL continued to push their mini division. Challenged Pequeño Damian 666 for the CMLL Minis Title back on February 21, 2008. Had a long-running feud with Ultimo Dragoncito. Won the Mexican National Lightweight Title on September 23, 2008. He first had to reach the finals by being one of two finalists in a torneo cibernetico two weeks prior and then beat Mascarita Dorada in the final. A week after winning the title, in Arena Puebla, he and two other mini rudos wrestled a trios match against regular-sized luchadores from that area.

75. Billy Boy - Spent the first half of the year in the ongoing Apache Family feud. Was attacked early in the year by the Foreign Legion and Konnan made fun of him being somewhat ‘pussy-whipped’ and never standing up to Fabi and the other Apache family members. After Mari and Fabi’s hair match at Triplemania, the family united and it appeared they had accepted Billy Boy as part of the family. Except Fabi Apache still had problems with Billy Boy and refused to talk to him. During the second half of 2008, he got less TV time and appeared to be demoted to opening match status. Worked in mostly trios matches against the Piratas, Diabolicos and El Poder del Norte. At the 12/6 Guerra De Titanes show, Billy Boy attacked Fabi Apache.

74. Dragon Rojo Jr. - Formerly known as Diamante Negro. Changed his identity to Dragon Rojo Jr. in July. Immediately received a good push by CMLL as he teamed with Ultimo Guerrero to win the Torneo Gran Alternativa, which is a tag team tournament were a veteran teams with a younger wrestler. At the August 29th PPV, he took the mask of Mictlan. He also briefly became a member of the “Los Laguneros” faction that was briefly formed by Blue Panther and Ultimo Guerrero to battle the Perros Del Mal and the Villanos. Dragon Rojo Jr. also challenged for the Mexican National Welterweight Title held by Sangre Azteca.

72. Zumbido - Along with Scorpio Jr., quit AAA in the middle of 2008 due to either a pay dispute or feeling that they were not being used properly. Immediately joined IWRG and also worked the independents. Challenged for the IWRG IC Tag Team Titles with Scorpio Jr. When Scorpio Jr. was out of action due to battling an illness, he spent time feuding with Fuerza Guerrera. He has mentioned that he’d like to make a return to CMLL.

71. Ultimo Dragoncito - The long-time mini version of Ultimo Dragon. A tecnico in CMLL’s mini division. Battled against the likes of Pierrothito and Los Cachorros Del Mal. Had a feud with Fire in Puebla, which culminated in a mask vs. mask match between the two. Ultimo Dragon came out victorious in the match. Very exciting high flyer and does use some of the moves that Ultimo Dragon made famous.

NEWS

Mistico suffered a knee injury at Sumo Hall yesterday after he successfully defended his CMLL Welterweight Title against Mephisto although it’s not been determined if he will miss any action or not.

He seems to be quite injury prone. I hope he has a speedy recovery.

RESULTS

AAA 2/15 – Centro Civico de Ecatepec (TV taping)
1. Aero Star/El Angel/Gato Eveready/Laredo Kid beat Billy Boy/Rio Bravo/Tito Santana/Tigre Cota

How many times are these guys going to go agaisnt each other? They must have more people on the roster than this? Why the repeat matches?

2. Electroshock/The Hart Foundation 2.0 (Jack Evans & Teddy Hart) defeated Crazy Boy/Super Fly/Ultimo Gladiador

And again another repeat.

3. Sean Waltman battled Zorro to a double countout after Black Abyss, Jack Evans, Teddy Hart, & Konnan all got involved before Vampiro could make the save.

Well at least this was different.

4. Chessman beat El Mesias – Before the match, Konnan came out and said that Chessman couldn’t wrestle due to his injuries he suffered last week but he would spray something in Mesias’ eyes before the match could start. Chessman would win then fairly easily and after the match La Legion kept pounding on Mesias until again Vampiro made the save.

Another repeat match but thats okay because unlike some of the others I could watch these two in any match against anyone no matter how many times they wrestle. Alright! A win for Chessman! Yay! I don't know why Konnan is still trying to be the boss when you know dang well Vampiro is going to overrule whatever decision he makes. I didn't even know they were still doing that to be truthful, I thought they quit that angle. I guess not.

5. Abismo Negro/Alan Stone/Latin Lover defeated Black Abyss/Konnan/Kenzo Suzuki and again after the match La Legion would beat on the tecnicos until Mesias tried to make the save but he would get destroyed until Charly Manson returned and made the save. Charly then hugged the tecnicos afterwards.

Charly is back! Yes! Well thats great, glad to see he is healed up from his injury (he broke his femur I believe and was out the whole year last year.) But honestly what is with the repeat matches? I mean how many times do we have to see these guys go against each other? Can we get a little variety here?

EMLL 2/15 – Arena Mexico
1. Molotov/Sombra de Plata/Trueno beat Artillero/Ramstein/Super Comando
Not really familiar with these guys so I can't comment

2. Mascarita Dorada/Nino de Acero/Shockercito defeated Mini Mr. Aguila/Pequeno Halloween/Pequeno Violencia
It always irritates me that CMLL never show the mini's enough, WE NEED MORE MINI'S!

3. Hijo del Fantasma/La Mascara/Toscano beat Black Warrior/Negro Casas/Vangelis (subbing for Heavy Metal) by DQ after ripping off Mascara’s mask.
I am sure this was a snooze fest as I find none of these (well maybe with the exception of Hijo del Fantasma) very entertaining.

4. Atlantis/Mr. Niebla/Rey Bucanero defeated Blue Panther/La Sombra/Volador Jr. with Volador re-injuring his right shoulder on a dive and he is rumored to be out of action for a month.

So Volador injured himself too huh? Well thats not good, I hope its nothing to serious and he returns soon. Wow that can't be good for CMLL what with Mistico possibly injuring himself, and now Volador doing the same. .

5. Dos Caras Jr. beat Ultimo Guerrero
I would have tos ee this match to know if it were good or not. But if Dos Caras was in it then prolly not....

Independent 2/14 – Gimnasio de la Universidad de Puebla
1. Mascarita Sagrada & Octagoncito beat Mini Histeria & Mini Psicosis

Well at least they have mini's here.....

2. Fabi Apache & Sexy Star defeated La Diabolica & Tiffany

.........

3. Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario beat The Hart Foundation 2.0 (Jack Evans & Teddy Hart)

Wow haven't seen these teams go against each other before....

4. Alan Stone/Brazo de Plata/Elegido defeated D-Generation MEX (Alex Koslov/Rocky Romero/Sean Waltman)

I am sure this was another snooze fest....

5. Gronda II/Octagon/La Parka Jr. beat Electroshock/Konnan/Zorro – It was funny as La Legion came out wearing shirts representing the university’s academic team.

So are they nerds now or what?

IWRG 2/14 – Arena Xochimilco
1. Avisman beat Halcon Dos Mil
2. Crazy Star & Esther Moreno defeated Flor Metalica & Rossy Moreno
3. Dr. Cerebro/Freelance/Multifacetico beat Los Oficiales (AK-47/Fierro/911)
4. La Familia Dinamita (Hijo del Cien Caras/Mascara Ano Dos Mil/Mascara Ano Dos Mil Jr.) defeated Hijo del Solitario/Scorpio Jr./Tinieblas Jr.
5. IWRG Intercontinental Welterweight Title: Fuerza Guerrera beat Zumbido to retain his title.

IWRG 2/15 – Arena Naucalpan
1. Comando Gama beat Halcon Dos Mil
2. Avisman/Judas el Traidor/Nemesis defeated Chico Che/Eragon/Mascara Magnifica
3. Las Traumas I y II/beat Arlequin/Fantasma de la Opera/Tetsuya Bushi
4. Los Oficiales (AK-47/Fierro/911) defeated Freelance/Fuerza Guerrera/Zumbido
5. Fantasma Jr./Pendulo/Scorpio Jr. beat Los Head Hunters I y II/Mascara Ano Dos Mil Jr. after the Head Hunters turned on MA2K Jr.

I really nees to check out more IWRG. I don't even think they have a tv deal anymore as I haven't seen any new IWRG stuff on youtube lately. Thats a shame because it was starting to grow on me. Better than some of the stuff going on in AAA right now thats for sure.

Monterrey 2/15 – Arena Coliseo de Monterrey
1. Dama de Hierro beat Poly Star
2. Aguila Azteca & Aguila Extrema defeated Ejecutor & Mr. Secuestro
3. Relampago Azul & TDN beat Decnis & Escorpion Jr.
4. Escoria & Ozz defeated Alebrije & Virtual X
5. The Psycho Circus (Killer Clown/Psycho Clown/Zombie Clown) beat Elegido/Silver King/Pimpinela Escarlata

Alfredo posted some more on the countdown so here we go!

70. Princesa Sujei - CMLL Ruda and one of the better female wrestlers in Mexico. When she’s not wrestling in CMLL, she sometimes appears in the Monterrey territory. A long-time rival of Dark Angel/Sarah Stock and actually beat her for her mask a few years ago. Uses the nickname “La CazaCanadienses” (means she hunts Canadians) and she lived up to that nickname by feuding with Goddess. Princesa Sujei beat Goddess in a mask match in October. Her name tends to be spelled differently by everyone.

69. Blue Demon Jr. - On October 25, 2008, Blue Demon Jr. beat “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce to become the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. The first Mexican wrestler to hold that title. Granted this isn’t the NWA of the ’60s, ’70s or ’80s, but it was still a pleasant surprise. One of the positives that came from the NWA-Blue Demon Jr. relationship is that Blue Demon Jr. brings in a sponsor like the Full Throttle Blue Demon Energy Drink to the NWA. He also was announced as President of NWA Mexico. In NWA Mexico, he feuded with El Dandy. Also wrestles in other lucha independents and territories throughout Mexico. Traveled quite a bit as he wrestled in US (for the NWA and for other lucha indy shows) and in Europe (most notably the Lucha Libre London shows). Still has an ongoing rivalry with El Hijo del Santo and the two had matches in Spain.

68. Mascara Dorada - Started the year as Metalik wrestling primarily in Arena Coliseo de Guadalajara. His high-flying style helped him find success early in 2008 in that area. He won the Occidente Welterweight Championship on April 13th. He also began getting placed in matches with CMLL regulars. He was also involved in a feud with veteran CMLL rudo, El Jeque. He eventually beat El Jeque in a mask vs. hair match. One week later, he made his CMLL debut still using the name Metalik. He was involved in some of the higher profile matches early as he wrestled the Generacion 75 Torneo Cibernetico, Arena Coliseo Tag Team Tournament, and the Torneo Gran Alternativa (teaming with Dos Caras Jr. and eventually lost in the finals). In Guadalajara, he teamed with La Sombra in the Corona Tag Team Tournament and won in the Finals against Olimpico and Ultimo Guerrero. The two teams actually faced off twice in the Finals, but due to a double-disqualification the first time, they had a rematch the following week. In November, it was announced that for the first time ever there would be a regular-sized wrestler honoring an already established mini wrestler as opposed to the other way around. In a video, Mascarita Dorada introduced the world to Mascara Dorada. He continued to receive an even greater push, teaming with Mistico. Despite struggling late in the year as Mascara Dorada, he has a bright future.

67. El Terrible - Upper-card rudo who spent the majority of the year as a member of Los Perros Del Mal in CMLL. Average heavyweight wrestler, but he has good charisma and his promos are good, so you combine those two attributes with his size and crazy hair, he’s a virtual lock to be high on the card for CMLL. Teamed with Damian 666 in a loss to Animal & Kensukes Sasaki for the UWA Tag Team Titles at an Ultimo Dragon “Toryumania” show in 2008. When Los Perros quit CMLL, he and other former PdM members formed “La Jauria Del Terror” and continued with their brand of violence against CMLL tecnicos. Along with Texano Jr. won the Occidente Tag Team Titles in Guadalajara. He also won the “Leyenda de Azul” trophy by winning a torneo cibernetico for that prize.

66. Flash - Young luchador who received a decent push in 2008. Along with Stuka Jr. won the Arena Coliseo Tag Team Titles on June 29, 2008. Both complement each other very well in the ring as they both wrestle a fast-paced, high-flying tecnico style. Feuded with Los Infernales, Nosferatu and Euforia, for the belts and also battled against them in trios matches. Was involved in numerous torneo ciberneticos this past year. Might need a name change down the road as there are at least 3 other guys in Mexico who use the same name.

65. Pegasso Extreme - Former member of AAA’s Fuerza Aerea. Spent the first half of the year in AAA. Left AAA during the summer and began working the independents throughout Mexico. Formed a team with Rey Cometa and both made their way to IWRG. While in IWRG was part of two memorable trios matches against Los Oficiales. Late in the year, he made his return to CMLL after being away for about 9 years. Part of a rather loaded undercard in CMLL.

64. Nosferatu - My pick for the most improved luchador for 2008. He first appeared in CMLL as Chamaco Valaguez Jr. and didn’t look very impressive. Had a very simple look to him. Immediately grouped him in with the list of bad second-generation wrestlers. However, someone in CMLL saw something in him, repackaged him and put him under the watchful eye of veteran rudo and Mexican legend, El Satanico. He became part of the latest incarnation of Los Infernales with El Satanico and Euforia. As a team, Nosferatu and Euforia lost in the finals of the Arena Coliseo Tag Team Tournament to Flash and Stuka Jr., but continued to be their biggest threats the rest of the year.

63. Rey Cometa - Former member of AAA’s Fuerza Aerea. Left AAA early in the year and began working the independents. Highflyer who’s known for his innovative moves. Frequently teams with Pegasso Extreme. Along with Pegasso Extreme and Freelance came close to uncrowning Los Oficiales as IWRG IC Trios Champions. Joined CMLL late in the year and is pretty much in the same position he was at in AAA (lower in the card).

62. Hijo del Fantasma - The son of Fantasma, not to be confused with his cousin Fantasma Jr. Still very young and raw, but was fortunate to have two things going for him entering CMLL in 2008 and that was him being a second-generation wrestler and CMLL’s youth movement. Immediately challenged for the CMLL Trios titles early in the year. When Hector Garza turned tecnico, he decided he’d form his own tecnico faction to battle Los Perros Del Mal and the other CMLL rudo factions, Hijo del Fantasma was one of the first names announced as part of Garza’s Los Angeles Celestiales (Celestial Angels). Teaming with Hector Garza and La Mascara, the trio won the CMLL Trios Championship in a tournament in June. They held the belts for about 2 months. He was victorious in the Gen75 Torneo Cibernetico in June as well. He also teamed with El Gallo to take the hair of El Malefico & Mascara Magica (2-thirds of La Tercia Toxica).

61. Dr. Cerebro - Made his IWRG return in April 2008 after being away for several months. He has been the main local in Naucalpan for the past 9-10 years. Very good technical wrestler, but is known to mix in some brawling and a little high flying in his matches. Immediately reformed his partnership with Cerebro Negro and the two late in the year became involved in a feud with Los Gemelos Fantasticos. The Cerebros team attacked the twins after a match and later both teams issued challenges, leading up to a hair match. The Cerebros were victorious in the hair match. Soon they turned their attention towards the IWRG IC Trios & Estado de Mexico Trios Champions, Los Oficiales. They added Black Terry to their team to form a dangerous trio known as Los Terribles Cerebros. They were able to capture the Estado de Mexico Trios Titles late in the year.

When I discovered there were so many Independent promotions in the world, I realized that not all pro wrestling fans were aware of the different promotions and wrestlers. In order to introduce wrestling fans to the “other world of wrestling”, 10 Questions With…was born. Our first interview is with Slash “El Asesino” or “Killer” who is with Revolution Xtreme Wrestling in Panama. The questions and answers are posted in both Spanish and English.

I decided to only post thie English Q&A. If anyone wants the Spanish I will post it for them just ask....

Sometimes there is someone that simply stands out; someone that makes you want to see more. The first time I saw a video clip of Slash in the ring, I was sold. Slash had everything I liked from basic wrestling knowledge to chairs and ladders in and out of the ring. Slash wears a mask so I do not know what he looks like, but I do know he will send shivers up and down your spine as he works over his opponents.

English translation courtesy of “The Voice of RXW”, Sky!

1. Can you tell us why you picked the ring name Slash and how long have you worked in RXW?

Response: Besides wrestlings and other extreme sports I’m 100% a rock fanatic, the name Slash was given to me because I had a long hair and curly like the original guitar hero from Guns N Roses. I have 2 years with RXW since the beginning.

2. Where did you receive your wrestling training and how long have you been in the professional wrestling ring?

Response: My training was in Panama under Johnny Gonzalez one of the best wrestling teachers around. He gave me the opportunity to train and learn of his roster of great wrestlers from Panama and Mexico. These stars from Panama I can mention El Africano, Red Master and Celestial and from Mexico Negro Casas and Ricky Marvin. After a couple of years I traveled to Texas to train there and to upgrade my wrestling skills. I have seven years training wrestling

3. Who do you consider your greatest influence in professional wrestling?

Reponse: Believe it or not, one of my biggest influences is the wrestler known as “Muerte Cibernatica” later known as Ricky Banderas “El Mesias”

4. What do you consider to be your strengths in the ring?

Response: My best weapons are my big knowledge of wrestling and MMA background. I think opponents fear me because of that.

5. What do you consider to be your weaknesses in the ring?

Response: I cannot give a public answer because I don’t wan’t to expose my weaker points to future rivals.

6. Can you tell us what you feel was your best match and why you believe it was your best work?

Response: Genesis 1 against Ricky Banderas in 2007. It was my official debut in the wrestling business and it was with one of the top wrestlers today, one of the top names on IWA, WSX, AAA and TNA.

7. Can you tell us what you feel was your worst match and why you feel this was not your best work?

Response: My worst match was my recent match against Savio Vega. I failed to reclaim the RXW Heavyweight Championship

8. Of all of the matches you have had, which of your opponents would you consider to be the toughest you ever faced? What advantages did he (or she) have during that match?

Response: One of the toughest opponents I ever faced was Billy Kidman, I defeated him once but a couple of months after that I was in a no DQ match against him and his extreme side was really something. It was a difficult match for me.

His career is young yet.....

9. Wrestling fans love creating fantasy matches. If it were possible for you to create your own fantasy match, which wrestler would you choose as your opponent? Why this particular opponent and what do you think the outcome of your fantasy match would be? Don’t hold back, add stipulations and make sure you give us the finishing move.

Response: I think fantasy matches are for fans. I believe on real matches, know Im looking a rematch against Banderas in Panama or in another country. I wish for a no DQ match. No holds barred match.

10. And, finally, all professional wrestlers have goals they wish to achieve. What is your ultimate goal?

Response: My main goal is to be champion again, a couple of days ago I had the opportunity against Savio Vega but he cheated and I couldn’t win. I would like to try luck at Triple A and see if Ricky can give the rematch there.

I haven't seen Slash in the ring yet but I think AAA needs to expand they're roster in a big way. The same people going against each other week after week is a little irritating. I wonder if they are even looking outside of Mexico other than the foreginers Konnan wants to bring in?

Banderas had his feud with Vampiro (which wasn't a very good idea because they feuded all of last year and then BAM! They are friends out of the blue this year. Really dumb on AAA's part. Plus no offense to Vampiro but he doesn't have the stamina he used to so his matches are not really that good imho. ) Give him someone fresh and someone who people are not to familiar with so they can have a fresh feud to watch over the next year or so. I think Banderas could use a break from his feud with Chessman as Chessman is trying to go into way to many directions with his own feuds (Charly Manson, Vampiro, La Secta, La Legion, Mesias). Come on now guy spreading yourself waaaay to thin there buddy.

NEWS

Cosmico, Mini Mr. Aguila, & Pequeno Halloween are now officially affiliated with Perros del Mal as they feel like they have better opportunities there than with EMLL. Perro Aguayo Jr. said that he isn’t recruiting these guys to come join them but these guys are leaving on their own.

Aww dammit! Excuse my language but....aw dammit!!!!

EMLL announced yesterday that their Dos Leyendas show this year on 3/20 at Arena Mexico will honor Salvador Lutteroth & Cavernario Galindo.

Perro Aguayo Jr. said that he has laid down some ground rules to Hijo del Santo adhere for a possible mascara contra caballera match in the future. Perrito said that Santo must show that he is at his level and one of the things he must do is to take the mask of another wrestler of high quality such as Blue Demon Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., & L.A. Par-K. Perrito said that he must also participate on a Perros del Mal show to prove to him that everything isn’t always about Santo and that he is willing to compromise with other people. Perrito closed by saying that if Santo is ready to do business then he would follow his advice.

So in a nutshell folks....this match aint happening. Why didn't he just come out and say it instead of trying to enfore "rules". His level? What's that? Comic relief? because thats all good ole Perrito seemed to ever do in his matches with CMLL. Way to kill anyone's hope (if there was any to begin with. I am being nice here) for this match Perrito, way to kill the match.....

Sorry I haven't posted thie list in a few days. Some jerkwad decided it would be fun to break into my house and thought everything was up for grabs. I hope everyone else's week went a lot better lol. On with the list!

60. Hooligan - Long-time CMLL undercarder and one of the least utilized performers in lucha. Very good rudo. Benefited a bit in 2008 as he wrestled more often in matches that appeared on TV, as opposed to having a clipped match or being relegated to the “momentos estelares” (stellar moments) highlight segment. Member of the Los Rebeldes de Desierto (Guerreros Tuareg) undercard faction. Teamed with Arkangel in the Arena Coliseo Tag Team Title Tournament, but lost in the quarterfinals. Was part of the group of luchadors involved in the CMLL tour of Spain in August.

59. Alan Stone - Didn’t have as strong of a year as he did in 2007. Started the year teaming with his brothers (Chris Stone & Super Calo) and with El Intocable in a feud with Los Guapos VIP. When Super Calo, Intocable, Scorpio Jr. and Zumbido left AAA, Alan Stone seemed to be going nowhere and wrestled primarily in random trios matches for a few months in 2008. Later in the year, Alan teamed up again with brother, Chris Stone, and began challenging for the AAA Tag Team Titles. They had matches with La Hermandad (Nicho El Millonario & Joe Lider) and the Hart Foundation 2.0 (Jack Evans & Teddy Hart). He also was part of the group of wrestlers defending AAA against Konnan and the Foreign Legion. Alan has tons of talent and his gimmick (spawned from El Intocable’s gimmick) is popular with the women. He could be a future star in AAA.

58. Shocker - Started the year feuding with Los Perros Del Mal. Spent the first half of the year as a headliner in CMLL. He was involved in some of the more prominant matches during the summer including the cage/hair match at “Infierno En El Ring” (CMLL’s 6/13/08 show) and the Gran Prix: Mexico vs. The World Torneo Cibernetico. In late August, he disappeared from CMLL only to resurface in late September in IWRG and in various lucha indy shows. In late November, he returned to CMLL as a tecnico and announced he was going to form another 1000% Guapos faction.

57. Tzuki - Diminutive star continued to provide excitement in CMLL’s minis division. Has been surpassed by Mascarita Dorada as the most exciting mini wrestler, but still amazing. Both he and Dorada teamed frequently and feuded with Los Cachorros Del Mal. Worked a brief tour for NWE in Italy over the summer. Amazing high flyer with his size making every move he makes more dramatic.

56. Dos Caras Jr. - Held the CMLL World Heavyweight Title for the majority of 2008, until he lost it to Ultimo Guerrero in Puebla on December 22nd. Despite holding that title, only defended it twice during the year, which has been the trend for the past 10 years when it comes to wrestlers holding that title. A tecnico with size and agility, but this year he seemed to be just another guy amongst the other CMLL main eventers. Spent most of the year rumored to be heading to WWE. Constant stories about his departure popped up online with very little verification (besides Dos claiming it to be true, no word from WWE at any point). At one point many reporters decided to stop covering the story until it became a reality. When he dropped the title to Ultimo Guerrero, everyone assumed he was leaving CMLL, only to later announce he was remaining with CMLL.

55. Ricky Marvin - Spends the majority of his time wrestling in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH. He mainly competes in trios and tag matches in Japan. Made a few more appearances in 2008 for AAA. Wrestled mainly in tag matches. Appeared to be an honorary member of Los Mexican Powers as he teamed with them in matches against Jack Evans & Teddy Hart and La Familia de Tijuana. Would be one of the top luchadores in AAA if he worked full-time for them.

54. Pequeño Halloween - Member of the mini faction, Los Cachorros del Mal (named after Los Perros Del Mal). Spent 2008 in CMLL and frequently teamed in trios with fellow Cachorros, Mr. Aguilita and Pequeño Damian 666. Very talented mini rudo had a far more successful year than the wrestler he was named after (Halloween). He was involved in a January 4th Torneo Cibernetico match that received consideration for Match of the Year in 2008.

53. Konnan - Leader of the evil faction known as the Foreign Legion (La Legion Extranjera). Konnan wrestled a bit more in 2008, but isn’t as good as he use to be (due to health and of course age). Fortunately, the majority of the matches he was involved in were more storyline-driven and ended quickly and with AAA his promos/interview skills are what they needed to build the top storyline. Feuded with AAA President Joaquin Roldan over control of the AAA promotion. At one point, stole the ashes of Antonio Peña and used them to leverage his way into a match where if he won, he would gain control of AAA and would return the ashes to Roldan. This storyline led to a bit of what I like to call “Konnan Overload” as he appeared to be on virtually every segment of AAA’s weekly television show. Konnan eventually gained control of AAA in late 2008. He vowed to eliminate all that he dislikes in AAA, starting with all the dancers, like Latin Lover and El Elegido….

52. L.A. Park - Known as the “Chairman” in WCW years ago, L.A. Park spent the year as an independent, free to work wherever he felt like, which was primarily for CMLL throughout the year. He also made appearances for various lucha indy groups like IWRG. Continued his off-again, usually, on-again feud with Dr. Wagner Jr. In CMLL, he also feuded with Ultimo Guerrero another one of his long-time rivals. Late in the year, was one of the first to join the new Perros Del Mal promotion.

51. Ozz - Member of AAA’s Black Family/La Secta. Was placed more in the forefront of the group in 2008. Worked primarily in trios and atomicos matches throughout the year. However, he was involved in some tag matches were he would either team with El Zorro or El Mesias in matches against Cibernetico and Chessman. Along with the other members of La Secta turned on El Mesias (thanks to Chessman) and eventually later Chessman turned on them. Most of his matches end up being wild brawls with tons of highspots, mixed in with a lot of chaos…Your typical AAA style of match.
