Shock TV my ass. I saw this coming from a mile away, I was just hoping it would change. Did you miss the stories about Vince thinking Edge is a better champion than a challenger and Taker might be taking time off? This was telegraphed.

All in all, nice PPV. Loved all the matches, the women's match was nice IMO.
Only bad thing was Randy getting injured, just hope he gets well soon.

I got the stories about the better champion, didn't see those about the time off for 'Taker...well it shocked me. Because I thought WWE would go the traditional route and let people go home happy since it was the last match. It did occur to me that Taker would lose, but when HHH/Orton came on before, all thoughts of Taker losing flew ma mind.

Edge/Taker and Batista/Taker have both been done to death. Both programs were overall good though and gave us great matches.....
But outside of a slithering Edge, and a very game Batista who is the next person close enough to get into a feud?

He needs a hell of a lot more building. What would Taker do in the mean time with the title? Just obliterate people in random matches?

BAH and this is why I stopped watching. Edge is a good performer but UT is better and people want to see UT. The whole vicki/edge storyline has run its course. So how they're going to get UT back in remains a mystery. Give taker one good long run before he retires. He is a TRUE legend and leader. And if it weren't for guys like taker, HHH, ric flair, the young guys wouldn't know which end is up.

After 6 years, there's nobody left for Taker to wrestle. Which is why he needs to got to RAW. At least then when we see Taker/HHH and Taker/HBK again, at least we haven't seen it in a long time.

MVP may work, but he is getting held back. Umaga, Mr. Kennedy and another Taker/HBK fued would work as well. I also wouldn't oppose Foley coming back for one more match against Taker, I also think Big Show would work. There are plenty of ways to use Taker, Vince is just to stupid to see them.
And an Taker/HBK fued for the title would have rocked.

I would. Foley is old, and crippled, and a match between the two would be ridiculous. If Taker won, people would complain it was predictable. If Foley won, people would complain that Vince is insane, it's not believable for Foley to be able to beat Taker nowadays.
ALSO been done to death over the years. They've fought with each other against each other, they've been tag champs together. They've wrestled each other in almost every possible premise known in the wrestling business.
Vince isn't too stupid to see them, he HAS seen them, and so has everybody else.
This is WWE's biggest problem. ALL their talent has fueded with each other over the course of the last ten years or so. There is nothing new left to see until Kennedy, MVP, and CM Punk break into the main event and HHH, HBK, and Taker finally call it quits. Yes, it would suck to see such talented men leave, but there's nothing left for them to do but collect paychecks and title belts.

Well, I doubt he'd be GONE, but I highly doubt he be WWE champion so many times, and would probably move between RAW and SD! every couple of years.
I also agree that Triple H is not a good champion for ratings. They've declined disturbingly low since he won the title. I know WWE wasn't pulling the ratings they used to even before Backlash, but WWE REALLY has to be worried about the ratings for the last couple of weeks.

That had actually crossed my mind as well, except I though it would be cool to see both Edge AND Taker go through the four tables, and then CM Punk cashed in the MITB contract, climbed the ladder, and become the champion. Definitely unexpected.
