Live Discussion: NCAA Tournament First Round

That one is pretty simple, they had 9 losses, were 10-8 in the Big East and had losses to Rutgers and Cinncinati, they are a good team, but there record was only worthy of a 4 seed.

yeah when they simply marched through the toughest conference in all of College basketball

they lost those games without there starting Point Guard.

They came back from a big deficit against Duke, and they stuck it to Georgetown, not once but twice. They won the big east by winning four straight games and 3 were against ranked opponents. They won the conference without a break and there is only one other team that can say that.

They have to travel half way across the States when NC, plays games in their own backyard, and WVU has to travel down a state its rather ridiculous, and they were more deserving of a Number 4 seed. Number 3 seed IMO in the UCLA bracket.

I agree that they are probably a top 10 team in the nation, but there record simply isn't deserving of a top 3 seed, I mean 9 losses is too many, at least they were put in the Memphis bracket, cuz they can beat Memphis.

Oh by the way, if they were in UCLA's bracket they would have to play UCLA in California, that wouldn't be a good thing, that would be a bad thing.

put it this way, if Pitt doesnt lose Fields, three of those losses don't happen. They dominated the conference and what do they get, a four seed, ok maybe using UCLA was a bad idea, but they should at least be in the same bracket as WVU... they should be playing in Washington D.C, not Denver Colorado.

A 4 seed for winning the best conference in all of College basketball, and Duke gets a two when they didnt even go to there championship game... Highly ridiculous, Louisville gets a higher seed, and Pitt eliminated them.. .Pitt was robbed, whether you want to believe it or not.

Thats why I hate the Conference Tournaments because they make the whole season look partially irrelevent. Yes if they dont lose Fields for part of the season, they would have a better record, but if Louisville didn't lose Padgett at the beginning of the year, there record would have been way better too.

And they aren't in the same bracket as WVU because there seeds are too close and they try to keep conference rivals from playing until the final four, elite eight at the earliest.

And yes Duke did lose in the conference tourney, but Tennessee did too, they dont deserve a 2 seed?, it is the whole season and Duke had 5 less losses than Pitt, injuries or not there was no way the committee could put Pitt any higher than they did. Entering the Big East Touney they were probably a 7 seed like WVU, maybe a 6, they moved up two slots in the tourny, you should be happy with that.

alright then, move WVU over to Colorado. A 7 seed should not be able to benefit from playing close to home. It makes no sense, and it makes shit seem so stupid. Hey, Mr. Dixon, your team won the best conference in basketball and too punish you we're sending you half way across the United States.

Tenn was 29/4 and they defeated an undefeated team in Memphis. They are a better team, and are more deserving of a number two seed than 5 loss Duke.

Padgett isnt as important to Louisville as Fields is too Pitt. Padgett was their when they lost to Pitt, so i dont see where you are heading with this,

Padgett was Louisvilles most important part, the offense runs through him, like the offense runs through Fields. Basically what I am saying is the Conference Tourney isn't the end all be all. You have to look at the entire season. All but one of Louisvilles losses were to NCAA Tourney Teams, they had a record of 14-4 in the Big East, compared to Pitts 10-8. That plus the fact that Louisville beat Pitt at Pitt is why Louisville got a higher seed.

When it comes to WVU, they are looking at it in the way that WVU is playing in California if they make it to the regionals, which is were the tourney is decided. If I were a Pitt. fan I would rather have them playing the first and second round games farther away, than the regionals because that is were the tougher games are played.

Okay let me wrap up that little conversation by saying this........All in all it doesn't matter what seed who got, because when its all said and done, the best team will come out on top, whether they are a 1 seed or a 4 seed.

Well North Carolina will lose to Kansas in the Semi-Finals, Texas is mad good, just so happens they beat UCLA AT UCLA.
