Let's try something completely different...

Occasional Pre-Show
Hello. I didn't see a thread like this so sorry if it's a duplicate.

I was debating TNA and WWE in some other threads, and a common idea kept coming up: "Why does WWE get a pass and TNA gets nitpicked?" and vice versa.

Everyone is going to have some kind of bias whether intentional or not based off of which one they like more, so rather than arguing, I though of an interesting idea...

What don't you like about your favorite company, (WWE or TNA,) and what do you like about the competition?

I like WWE more than TNA right now, but if there was one thing that TNA is doing well right now, it's the tag team division. The Motor City Machine Guns winning the tag titles was long overdue, and the series they're putting togeting with Beer Money right now is astounding. If you can find better tag team wrestling out there, let me know because I haven't seen it.

In WWE, I absolutely can't stand Sheamus. I know most of his detractors have warmed up to him, but I'm not one of them. I just find him dull in the ring. I can at least get behind his mic work and unique look, but I'm most interested in the in ring action and to me he falls short.

So does anyone else want to add to the discussion? And please, no sarcasm like, "I like that TNA is running itself into the ground," or "I like that WWE fired Bryan Danielson so he can go to a real wrestling company like TNA." Let's try to keep it productive. ;)

what I like about Tna: most of the matches are a lot better and a lot more creative, Wwe's matches.. most of their wrestlers are slow and boring

what I like about Wwe: the star-power, their crowds make the show seem incredible where Tnas small crowds or Rohs small crowds make them seem unimportant.

What i don't like about WWE - Mostly its the same old formula on Raw - Cena promo, Cena main event and the sizist nature still existing to an extent, also how Smackdown is regarded.

What i like about TNA - a generally high competitive nature. In all the divisions and matches it always seems to have the anyone can win aspect which gives more intrigue.

I'm a wwe man.
What I don't like about wwe? Seems as if its the same thing every week. Same fueds, same people getting the spotlight, cena, cena, and more cena getting shoved down our throats.

What I like about tna? Its tag team division. Generation me, mcmg, beer money, 3d, basically every tag team besides ink inc (can't stand jesse). But their tag team action is amazing.

wwe>tna.
So for TNA, I would have to agree about the tag team scene. Thats one thing about tna that is amazing, their tag teams. WWE just has the hart dynasty and the usos.

And for WWE, I hate Swagger being in the Main Event. I change the channel every time he is on.

I wouldn't say I was a die hard fan of either company, so I'm going to compare two things that each company does better than the other, which is out of keeping with the general trend in that area of the product. WWE does ar better and more consistent development of characters and storylines than TNA, generally speaking. However, TNA are far better at beatdowns. In TNA, someone comes out, gets a cheap shot in, hits a few shots, then hits a few big moves, then something hard hitting, and it's over. WWE's are overlong, and I think are the primary reason that I don't give a fuck about the Nexus storyline.

TNA, generally speaking, has better backstage interviews than the WWE, with the questions being relevant and the talent being allowed to get their points across much better than in generic WWE interviews. However, I think TNA give the wrong people the mic for too long. Anderson is over, he can just do a quick interview where he gets his catchphrases in, and the crowd love it. He doesn't need to repeat himself a million times. WWE give Cena very brief interviews, because it's all he needs. Ric Flair should always be the man saying woo at the end of AJ's promos, not the other way around.

I can't really say who I like more, some months it's WWE, some it's TNA. Currently I'm more interested in WWE, so I guess I will choose them.

WWE: I detest seeing David Otunga every week. The term WWE Universe is gaytarded, and the Divas are a complete joke and a waste of time.

TNA: Like others have said, they have an amazing tag scene, I really like the way the relationship between AJ and Kazarian has played out as well. I think the Kurt Angle storyline is great, and I love the Pope.

I am down the middle.

WWE - There are more guys and gals I like more: Wade Barrett, Mark Henry, Husky Harris, Teddy Jr., Dolph Ziggler, Taker, Big Show, Layla, Da Bellas, Maryse. Okay, I have no idea why I like the Bellas and Layla has thoroughly annoyed the hell out of me since she became Michelle's lackey to the point that I only like her physical appearance.. But for the guys? It is easy to want to like or hate the guys. That is one thing the WWE doesn't get enough credit for these days; They can make you interested in guys that don't fit a mold. All of the guys I listened all have different styles and different looks. People say that the only reason a lot of bigger guys get push is because they are bigger, but The Big Show is a totally different performer than Taker.

TNA - They give new people changes. I admit I started watching back in 2002 just for Scott Hall, but I kept watching because some of those new people turned out to be some of my favorite wrestlers ever (AJ, Storm, Harris). In the WWE, you can draw a younger guy's name out of a hat and make a case as if he is "misused", but I really don't think you can say that about TNA. TNA's style of matches gives the wrestlers free range and if it sucks.. You can't blame the booking. Well, there have been some screwy finishes in TNA's time, but leading up to it is what you can't blame on them. lol

Long story short, WWE = booking driven, TNA = talent driven. haha

What I dislike about the WWE: I don't like the occassional attempts to inject corny skits and comedy matches onto WWE Raw. I think that the WWE has done a very good job in filtering it out because we got a lot of it in 2009 compared to 2010. However, they do sneak some in every now and again and it just has a tendency to ruin my mood and drain energy out of the show in and of itself. I also think that the WWE has gotten off track when it comes to its tag team division. The Hart Dynasty have been tag champs for several months now, but they've yet to really be featured prominently on either Raw or Smackdown and it seems to be the same way with most of the better teams in the WWE. Instead, we're being treated to the likes of Santino Marella & Vladimir Koslov performing 2 minute comedy matches against William Regal & Zack Ryder. I don't really think that the WWE gives enough mic time to some stars that really need it. For instance, I think the likes of Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne would certainly benefit from some promo time. John Cena cuts at least 1 promo a week on Raw and I'd like to see the mic time spread around a bit.

What I do like about TNA: I think TNA's tag team division is the best thing they have going for them right now. The feud between the Guns & Beer Money have injected some much needed energy into the tag team scene and make the tag titles worth fighting for again.

I'm a fan of both promotions and would like to see both suceed rather than one being obviously better than the other.

Things I like in TNA: I love their tag team division for the most part as they put a lot of effort into putting significance in the belts and provide great matches for the teams. I also believe that TNA put on better matches than the WWE but for the most part this is on iMPACT rather than on their PPVs.

Things I like in WWE: They really excel in building storylines and delivering promos. The WWE also know how to build a PPV and hold great matches on the PPV. I also love how they are deeply involved into charities and tribute shows which every wrestling promotion should try to do.

I'm a WWE gal to my heart,
But 3 things just makes me want to go to the top of WWE head quarters and SCREAM

1. PG
This pisses me off in ways that shouldn't be possible,
WHY???
BECAUSE IT'S STUPID,
Your spending your efforts attracting a group who's bed time was an hour before the show airs,
& this PG thing leads to RAW looking like a joke,
How am I supposed to take Orton,
and anybody else and storylines serious,
When you have random guest host popping up and dumb comedy skits taking up valuable time,
Which leads me to my next point

2. The Divas
The diva divsion has so much potential,
But do we see it,
No,
When I hear people talking about the divas and calling them a joke,
Do I get mad,
Yes,
But can I really say anything,
No,
Because the only argument I have is potential,
Why are divas like Maryse and K2 (Though she has improved) getting shoved down our throats weekly,
Showing off there "Wrestling Skill" on main brands
When divas like Gail.K and Jillian Hall are tearing it up on Superstars,
SUPERSTARS???!!
Give the divas who can wrestle the spotlight,
The only thing there doing spot-on is Lay-Cool
Great Female Wrestlers:
Gail Kim
Jillian Hall\
McCool
Melina
Beth Phoenix Natalya
Good Female Wrestlers
Eve Torres
A.Fox
Layla
Divas Improving
Tiffany'
k2
The Bellas
Divas who Can't Wrestle
Maryse
Rosa (Which still confuses me because she was good in FCW)
W

(Continued from last post, accidently posted it w/o finishing)

When the Divas who can't wrestle are out # so much by great/good women wrestlers
It's sad and what's displayed every week,
Not to metion Divas like Serena and Tamina,
Who haven't really got to show-case their talents yet,

3. CENA CENA CNEA

WWE,
I triple dog-doughnut dare you to try something new,
Because this is past getting old.

Cena has the title,
Hes faced w/ this great challenge,
& Against all Odds,
He wins,
The children all cheer,
& I die a little inside

Though I don't watch TNA,
It doesn't take a genious to figure out they treat there women right,
So tha't what I "like" about TNA

I know i am the odd one out when i say this but i like WWE promos and skits (except hornswoggle ones) and i don't like TNA's.
Wrestling wise TNA is better, be it tag team or womens division. But i like WWE main events. WWE have great storylines and hence good PPVs.

I think TNA has a better roster but WWE has a better management.

Major difference between WWE and TNA is Vincent Kennedy McMahon and Dixie Carter.

Personally for the first time in the 20 + years i've been watching wrestling, i'm actually bored with what both company as to give me. So as far as a favorite company, i'm probably going with WWE since i've been watching them a lot longer then TNA but don'T get me wrong, they are both equally boring right now but i'm still going to give what i liked and what i dislike from both company.

WWE: What i like a lot about WWE is they are trying to get new guys over as main event stars. Guys like The Miz, Sheamus, Drew Mckintyre and Jack Swagger are all great talent that can be main event heels for the company if they give them the ball.

Another thing i like is the whole Nexus angle going on right now, it's made superstars out of 7 guys that where unknown at the same day last year and it's still entertaining.

The Divas division, i've got to say especially on raw, they actually are trying to give them some sort of sense which they didn't even bother to do a couple of years ago. Sure they are still stuck in 5 minutes matches both at less they're is some sort of reason why they face each other now.

What i hated about WWE is the anonynous RAw GM. It's getting even more annoying that the guess host concept. At less with the guess host concept, you would sometimes get something interesting out of it. This is just plain annoying and i hope they end it soon.

Sorry, but i got to single out one wrestler that i just cannot stand right now and i fast foward everytime he's on t.v and that's Randy Orton. I try to like the guy both for some reason i just can't especially now that he's a face. The guys is boring even more then John Cena and for some reason the fans love him. if he would disappear from t.v i wouldn'T miss him.

TNA: What i like about TNA. I would say what left of the X-division, the knockout division and the tag team divisions. When these wrestlers get the time to show what they can do, they are the most entertaining stuff in TNA.

A.J. Styles, you can give anything bad gimmick and he will found a way to make it work, the guy is really the future of the wrestling buisness and a future legend.

What i dislike about TNA: The fact they always goes for nostalgia angles and quick fix idea instead of focusing on what they have right now. Just look at the list of quick fix angle and wrestlers the failed since they started: Christian Cage got some buzz for them but tank really quickly. Sting returns to TNA same thing goes. Kurt Angle sign with TNA same as the last 2. Same goes for Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Mick Foley and Eric Bischoff. They brought back every angle and storyline from the 90's, From having a comedy stables to a NWO-esque stable to doing a ECW reunion show with half the former ECW roster either don't want anything to do with it or are just plain busy on that day. That my biggest problem with TNA, they are not able to come up with a original idea and it's becoming frustrating. Sure some of the matches are really good but they always get overshadowed by something or someone that shouldn't even be on t.v.

Another thing i hate about TNA are the IMPACT Zone fan. I like to called them Sheep because they always do exactly what Dixie Carter and the producer of IMPACT want them to do. It's always fell like am watching a room full of Paid Extra trying to act as a wrestling audience. I make to show fell less special.

Finally the announce Team: i'm not a big fan of Taz as a color commentator, i haven'T been of fan of him for year. He's like Jerry Lawler in a way, he rambles on about pretty much anything and doesn'T really bring anything new to the match. Sometimes he just sound like he bored of what he'S seeing and will make a random joke just for the fun of it.

Both WWE and TNA right now are pretty much boring both the fact that TNA is a smaller company with the fans that look like they've been coach before the taping on how to react and the fact that the announce team seem bored all the time make TNA look worst then WWE, that's probably why TNA gets bashed a lot more then WWE because while WWE is pretty much as boring as TNA, WWE is able to mask it a lot better.
