Lance Cade and what could have been

This is my first time posting a thread here, so please be patient with me. As we all know, Lance Cade was one-half of the world tag team champions on numerous occasions, was trained by HBK (which was brought up in the jericho/michaels feud) and was being billed as Jericho's student during said feud. He had one match against michaels one on one and a couple tag team matches if I'm not mistaken, then all of a sudden he was released from the company in the middle of his big push. Rumor has it he was close to being re-signed by the WWE in the summer of 2010, but tragically he died in august of that year. So my questions are:

1) If Lance Cade was re signed by the wwe, what kind of an impact would he have had on the company?
2) Could he have been potentially a world champion?

Again this is my first post so please go easy on me.

Id love to say that if he had been re-signed he would have went on to do great things because the guy did have a good look and was fairly decent in the ring but in reality i dont think he would ever amount to much because quite frankly the fans never truely cared about him and he just didnt have the charisma to be a top singles competitor. Its hard for me to say that because the guy was apparently a nice guy and died way too young but i think the fact of the matter is that he was just never destined to be a big star in wrestling. With that been said i could be wrong and he may have done a full 360 and became huge but i guess we will never know.

Cade had the size and a decent look, and would probably have been resigned by WWE at some point, especially as he was trained by Shawn Michaels. It is a shame that he passed away before he was back with the company, but supposedly the guy had alot of personal problems.

However, as decent as he was in the ring, and he was pretty solid...for some reason he didnt stand out to me as having the "IT" factor which would have made him a big star. The fans just didnt seem to take to him, and he never seemed to get much of a reaction.

I would have hoped that, had he returned, that he would have shown more charisma and not been stuck with the sterotypical "cowboy" role like he had before. This would have allowed him to come back fresh and different and start with a clean slate.

Who knows how far he could have gone, but I would have liked to have seen Cade do well, he was certainly the better one out of the Cade and Murdoch tag team, and was pretty entertaining in the ring. I always liked to see the top-rope elbow drop too.

I couldnt have seen him ever getting to World Title level, but a US or IC title reign would have been within his grasp I reckon has he returned.

Lance Cade was an average talent in my eyes. He had a decent look, but a look better fit for the 80's/early 90's, and not a look for the 2000's. He reminded me of a current generation's Dustin Rhodes. He was mid-card at best though. Didn't have the "It" factor to advance to the main event level.

I pretty much agree with everyone else on this topic. Lance Cade was a talented individual but he lacked the charisma and fan-following to make it big.
At most he would have been good for a mid-card title reign or a tag-title. Beyond that, not much..

I think he was pretty talented. I don't know if he was main event material though. He never got the ovation of a main event guy. I think he could've held a few mid card titles and maybe reform Cade and Murdoch to help the tag division. But it's a sad loss nontheless.

Lance Cade did have some potential. However, if he had been resigned then he probably would have had a small push that would amount to nothing because his momentum from involvement in the Jericho/Michaels feud was already long gone. He would have had much larger odds of becoming more than a midcard nobody if he had been able to stick around long enough to remain Jericho's protege for that entire feud. He could then have either turned face and struck out on his own or remained a heel and stayed on Raw after Jericho got drafted to Smackdown. We cannot change the past though, he got released. If he had been resigned before he passed then I just don't see him getting much further than the midcard though, he had small amounts of potential, but not enough to get over without a main eventer helping out through putting him over in a feud or having him be involved as an underling like he was with Jericho.
