Kurt Angle's Physique

Exactly. Those roided out monsters like Jeff Hardy and CM Punk only got where they were because of their bulging biceps.

The facts speak for themselves. WWF has a history that still continues to this day of pushing musclebound freaks over more skilled yet less physically intimidating performers. While CM Punk and Jeff Hardy have allowed to carry Smackdown in more recent years, they were clearly the exceptions, not the rule.

Really? Should we examine the former world champions in the WWE right now.

Small guys
Rey Mysterio
Jeff Hardy
CM Punk
HBK

In the middle
Orton
Edge

Bigger Guys
Cena
HHH
Undertaker
Kane
Batista

I don't think I am missing anyone. It seems to be pretty well split over the last decade. I know it seems like the big guys and the muscle bound guys dominate the scene, but that's only because they are more interesting and force you to pay more attention to them.

Over the past decade we've seen Lesnar, Big Show, Khali, Goldberg etc. pulling world title reigns. You brought up people like Mysterio, how many times did he win the world title? By comparison how many has HHH won? And you can't just put it down to title reigns. Look at Mark Henry, how often does that guy get thrown into upper mid-card angles? How often did Brian Kendrick or Billy Kidman get those sort of pushes? Undertaker came off a half year absence and immediately got put in the world title picture whilst CM Punk who spent the whole year working an excellent program with Jeff Hardy has effectivley been made both Taker and Batista's bitch.

And I'm not particularly sure I understand you when you say the big guys are more interesting? Most of them can barely move. I much prefer a John Morrison or AJ Styles match then I do Batista trying to molest Big Show's ankle.

OK, I was just going with still in the WWE, but you conveniently forget RVD, Benoit and Eddie. It's not a perfect split, but it is pretty well spread out amongst the sizes.

It's not about that at all. Calling someone a former World Champion outs them at the top of the card. Did I leave anyone out who main events. Guys of all sizes get pushed all the time. Jeff Hardy was in the main event or special attaction style match in something like 12 of the last 16 PPV's before he took his sabbatical.

Not counting ECW.....ummm, twice in like 12 years.

Brian Kendrick was an interim title holder in a Big Two World Title Scramble. Mark Henry wasn't.

Undertaker has been in the main event for 20 years. Does he really need to work his way back up to be a credible main eventer in your eyes? If so, your standard is much higher than mine. I assumed pinning Hogan and winning at every Wrestlemania since he pinned Eichmann on D-Day was enough for credibility in wrestling.

And I'm not particularly sure I understand you when you say the big guys are more interesting?

Ratings and buyrates. Stone Cole was 265 and The Rock was 275. Pretty big guys, pretty big ratings. HBK on top, not so good.

I would prefer AJ Styles to a lot of things, but the general public tends to prefer John Cena, The Rock, Stone Cold, Hogan, HHH, The Undertaker, and Batista, unless they are a drugged out emo.

Many factors could be into why Angle's slimmer. One of them is his neck. Lifting weights and training can take a huge toll on one's neck, and to me, this seems like the main reason he's not as buffed up as he was. Another is that he quit steroids. Yes he used them. Just look at his WWE run v/s TNA. He slimmed down and is now more mobile and agile than he was in the WWE. The look of an Olympic gold medalist was skewed in the WWE. Apparently they thought you have to be chisled in order to look like an Olympic Hero.

In TNA, he can be the weight he's comfortable wreslting at and who knows? It could make his career last longer as opposed to keep using steroids and damaging your body.

He said in an interview somewhere that he's the happiest he's ever been at this small stature he's at right now. He's faster, still strong, and can still get it done in the ring. He was always bulked up because Vince pretty much wanted him to, I like the smaller Angle. Just me though.
