As a black man, I don't know if I fully agree on what TheMadWrestlingFan is saying, but there is SOME truth to it.
Saying that Kofi or Zeke is a title holder does not excuse what's been going on. On the case of Big Zeke, I like him, but I don't see him as "over". In fact, I find him kinda dull.
Kofi is a completely different matter. Realistically speaking, despite the E trying to keep him down (demoted to Smackdown after the Orton fiasco) he has STILL managed to stay over with the crowd. Honestly, Kofi was the reason I watched Smackdown before he got traded to Raw. In terms of credibility, he had won the US title twice, the IC title three times, and the Tag Titles w/ CM Punk once. In terms of credentials, this man SHOULD be in the title race. There's no point in settling for the US title.
Yet, the E has dropped the ball on him. For those that say that Kofi has no mic skills or charisma, I quote Jackie Chan from Rush Hour, "Not being able to speak is not the same as not speaking." Kofi had more charisma heckling Vicky and after beating Ziggler this week than most of the roster. They just don't let him speak. Probably because he doesn't sound "ethnic" enough.
The E also had a chance to put him the World Title picture. Instead, they traded Edge to Smackdown and let HIM run with it. Yet, Kofi and Ziggler were putting on great matches (I'll throw in Swagger in there as well) but Ziggler got a title shot and Swagger had a title reign.
Right now, the E has a GREAT opportunity to make Kofi matter so much more. He should win the MiTB match. The others in the match don't need it (save for Bourne, but I can't see him as a WWE champion). Let him hold the briefcase and get some air time. He has a great story (being from Ghana, coming from the bottom to the top) and he can actually ELEVATE Ziggler because Zig can argue that he should be in the title race because he beat Kofi. It's a win-win. Besides, we all know Del Rio's probably going to win the WWE title in Summerslam. Cena doesn't need it. Let Del Rio run with it, and then months later, Kofi can challenge for it.
But somehow, I don't see that happening. I see them jamming the Miz down our throats some more...or worse, making RILEY win it (who's still green as hell, although he's caught my attention.) In fact, Morrison might come back for MiTB and win it, so all the fans can praise Morrison and yet complain about Kofi...even though the arguments they have against Kofi apply MUCH MORE to J-Mo.
As for the Booker T title reign, save it. Booker made his rep based on WCW and the whole "King Booker" reign was a joke. In fact, it's one of the things that HURT Booker T's reputation and took away what make him credible by ridiculing him.
