Say you took the character of Taz(z) from ECW circa 1995-1997 and transported him into the current era of WWE, could that character be successful today with its MMA style?

Probably not.

Back then UFC was barely anything and no one had ever seen someone like Tazz. Today you have a lot to compare him to so the character wouldn't work that well. Also a lot of people would complain about them ripping off UFC.
